Looking back I should've just waited for switch 2 because switch 1 can barely run 3rd party games. I played the demo of that new Ys game and my god does it look awful.
Looking back I should've just waited for switch 2 because switch 1 can barely run 3rd party games...
I feel the same way to a certain extent. Should have waited
Believe it or not, I never played BotW since launch because I was holding into Switch 2 hoping it would work better there
Now I’m kinda in a dilemma of sort: should I skip to TotK by then or ignore TotK all together.
If Nintendo makes a commercially successful console, it's shit. If they fuck up on sales, it's a good console. It's usually every other console. Wii U, GC, SNES etc.
but Ys look like utter ass
how? HOW?
if you mod your switch it's actually possible to play botw at 60fps. Pretty insane what people are able to do with the hardware these days, but you do need to go out of your way
MUH GRAFIXXXXXXXXX
We get it, you hate Japan
Just get a PC handheld? I am playing SMTV Vengeance at 1200p 60 fps on mine. Shit is cash as fuck.
You'll never be happy and your mum will die in 7 days
What is the one on the bottom? Just some chinese knockoff console?
That's fine. Sorry about you being poor.
Japanese games on shitty hardware can't beautif-
All of it is free on steam deck emulators
with 90 minutes of battery life
And Switch
because switch 1 can barely run 3rd party games. I played the demo of that new Ys game and my god does it look awful.
There were some parts where the performance was rough, when I did the game last year, but it was far from being unplayable. In general, I have no issues with third-party titles on the Switch. Even games such as Kingdom Come Deliverance and Dying Light were pleasant in spite of their concessions, but it still shines the best on Japanese games and indies. It's still a massive improvement compared to the Playstation Vita which didn't have the proper hardware to handle anything 3D from the PS3/PS4 gen.
It doesn't matter of whatever portable/hybrid device you get your hands on anyway, getting any of them means you agree that neither high framerate and graphic fidelity are your top priorities.
Now you're gonna play everything at 15fps, but with schizo upscaling artifacts.
So buy the Rog Ally X? That shit lasts a minimum of 3 hours even if you're blasting full power (which for JRPGs is NEVER needed)
looks generic and mediocre
play prettier games
Ys X actually runs perfectly fine on Switch, it's the game itself that looks really basic. This is not a Switch screenshot.
getting any of them means you agree that neither high framerate and graphic fidelity are your top priorities.
Pretty sure Rog Ally plays this shit just fine at 120hz lol
That's nice, but my Switch lasts 4-7 hours.
Playing the game at 500p sub 30 fps. The Rog Ally even at 7h battery preset does way better performance.
With 7h battery preset it would be comparable looking to Switch, which defeats the purpose. Plus I would have to deal with the piece of shit that is Windows, and much clunkier docking to the TV than with Switch, which is completely seamless.
Modern games suck. Buy a steam deck to play old games.
If the steam deck 2 is just powerful enough to emulate Bloodborne, your pretty much set.
I don't think things will get better. I think it's only downhill from here.
Why don't most UMPC companies put OLED panels on their products? Can only large companies bear that cost?
Post prettier game to help me. Something not generic and mediocre preferably. Until then, I'm afraid your opinion is worthless.
SNES
What are you talking about? That was a successful console as well as having an extremely high quality library.
This is correct. I use my Steam Deck as an old PC games machine. You can play any 3D game up to about 2005 in 4K when docked. And in handheld mode you get really good battery life with those games.
Enjoy your eye cancer sub 500p sub 30 fps "gaming" then cancer lord
OLED is fucking gay and SDOLED owners are already having big burn in issues.
OLED screens are economical if you buy a huge amount of them for a bulk discount. You need to move Switch levels of product to have OLED and still make a profit. Valve doesn't make a profit on Steam Deck so they could put OLED into their revised model.
Pretty sure Rog Ally plays this shit just fine at 120hz lol
At the cost of battery life though? Switch is a 10W console while something like the Deck is 25W handheld PC, but both have the same hard limits at the end of the day. Even the high refresh rate displays on phones really consume a lot of battery. I also have my doubts Ys X Nordics (as well as the majority of Japanese games) can run beyond 60fps, due of how Japanese coding works.
Why are you so insecure over people enjoying exactly the same games elsewhere?
Bare faced lie. People made videos where they kept the SD OLED running for weeks 24/7 on the same screen and didn't have burn in.
Enjoy being an autistic MUH SPECS sperglord while I enjoy actually playing games.
Nigger the switch 2 will be like $350. Just buy it when it comes out, its not that much money if you have a job.
barely run 3rd party games.
sad but true. No reason to own a Switch unless you want to play the first party titles, that's all it's good for
It will be $500
It's pretty much my main gaming system these days, and 95% of the games I have on it are third-parties.
Coupled with my phone for retro emulation, and I'm well covered in terms of old and newer vidya.
Nigger check Youtube there is 60 fps+ gameplay with the Rog.
actually playing games
You're not playing fuck all game at that resolution and frame rate. Just watch it on Youtube, movie fag.
It must suck to be a bitter retard like you.
It must suck being a moviefag like you
And what does it have to do anything with what I said about battery life or that Japanese games rarely go beyond 60 frames?
Some of them are also not made to be played beyond 30 as the physics get screwed, Yakuza (Kiwami 2 but I believe this was the case in 3-4-5 too) is the first thing that comes to mind with enemies 100% blocking your combos when running at 60fps.
