Commenting on real world issues then:
I've created a fantasy race/character similar to people but whom exhibits different social norms and traits to humans. This will allow me to comment indirectly on human behaviors and normalcy and create interesting scenarios and conflicts with ethical dilemmas unique to the setting.
It's important not to drag literal events and issues directly into my setting because it detracts from creativity and immersion while inviting irrelevancy with time.
Commenting on real world issues now:
Our fantasy characters are going to have a direct discussion about a current issue while educating an ignorant character.
Im going to use IRL vocab and concepts
The universe is just very multicultural and everyone loves it
It's real world conservative sentiments that are literally pure evil and our villains exhibit them all with pride, your enemy has no remorse you have a right to destroy them
Yes we should have pride flags in a medieval setting, its fantasy baby
No we have to depict disabilities in a setting where those injuries are irrelevant, we must represent real life people in the game.
It's the hamfisting, its the mentality of "shut up and listen". It doesnt matter how poorly and clumsily this agenda is applied, the expectation is unconditional support. People learned more about equality and understanding human nature watching TNG than any of the money grubbing virtue signaling that has permeated western media.
