If there's one thing I've learned from my time as a mesugaki so far, it's that doing a couple quests in Mysilia to get enough furniture tickets to copy the microphone nets you a really decent early-game throwing weapon. Somehow, I'm able to land more hits with an 86% hit chance than I am with a fucking 2d4+12 sword with a 95% hit chance. I don't get Elin's combat rolls at all.

Also holy fuck, fuck Noa for expanding the winter area. Finding a treasure spot in the snow is pure hell since there's a non-zero chance of mid/late-game mobs spawning and raping you on your way there.

It's really tough being a mage since the Mage's Guild doesn't have a book copier NPC like in Elona, so if you want more spell stocks you need to invest in a magic merchant or grind the Puppy Cave for spell arrows. Also the dream feat.

The start with spells can be pretty hard as you need to get a bit lucky with what your looking for but if you go the magic collage and get memorization it would help a lot. Either way it still be best to get used to keeping a a range weapon to save on stock till your in the upper 300's for spells

There's a magic wand-like reusable weapon that you can use as long as you have mana, but I've only ever found one in a dungeon. It's worse than actually casting a spell but it never runs out.

Food starts renewable once you start farming yo can start with berries outside of that you can pretty easily get berries/apples/nuts in the forest or you can go into town and buy travel rations for pretty cheap.

For the dog on your pc sheet under strategy you can tell them to stick close it should help a bit but they will still walk off in combat a bit to keep them closer you can make a leash that will keep them one-two spaces next to you at all times I think.

Both Elin and Elona are open-world roguelikes, but Elin has a larger emphasis on base building and is more beginner-friendly since it has mouse support, but Elona, especially Elona+ and Elona+ GX have a metric shitton of content. I'd strongly recommend Elona+ GX since you can turn on/off a bunch of the gay fucking features Noa added to the game like thirst and that gay fucking feature where enemies instantly regain all their HP back when they deaggro (this is extremely bad when some of the boss gimmicks revolve entirely being a dick-ass teleporting faggot and jumping all around the room).

You can pull off bow but Wiz would be harder to train up all the skills related to it so I guess that.

Been working on turning this into a monster girl game. So far I've got puppies replaced as fox girls, bunnies replaced as bunny girls, putits replaced as slime girls, horses as centaurides, cows as holstaur tittymonsters in cowprint bikinis, several avians as various types of harpies/bird girls and the little girl was made into a succubus because fuck you it looks cute.

If they were color palette swaps I did the same thing and used the same color schemes, if they're different sprites entirely I chose a different sprite. Still a very long way to go and not all of the sprite choices are going to make sense(some undead are going to be demon girls because actual undead options are lacking) but it's been fun even if time consuming to mess around with this so far.

Elona had a significant chinese playerbase come around, and almost all of the negative reviews are because of the price.

If she is an Elona Plus original, character, Noa would need Ano's permission to use her, but Ano would probably refuse because he knows that Noa would get a ton of shit from the schizo Plus antis.

Depends on your definition of avoiding combat. You can't send your companions off to progress the game for you but you can take a support role and just run around gathering shit in dungeons while your team of little girls go murder hobo and chase down anything that moves.

i mean you CAN play as a farmer (it's literally one of the classes) but i dunno if you're really expected to be able to entirely avoid combat
i guess you could if you're crafty and/or use allies to your advantage, but let's just say there's a reason why farmers start with scythe proficiency

There is a lot that you can do while avoiding combat. But for dungeons, quests that require combat etc., you would need your allies to kill stuff for you. It would be kind of hard without participating in combat yourself, but there are some pretty strong unique NPCs who are easy to recruit.

I don't remember anything about Elona (played it like a decade ago) but I think I'm gonna pull the trigger.

you can set the "open for business" policy, think you gotta buy it from the Home NPCs. and i read on wiki you need an open room with some beds but idk. i have tourists all the time now but i dont see any income or them using my spare house, yet. i might need to set a room board there and change options, not done that yet.

You need other seeds. I haven't done much farming so I don't know the best way to get them, but I think you could take a sickle on a farming quest and use it to harvest seeds.

Set your cooler box to high priority and only take perishable food. You can also set it to shared, your pets will feed themselves automatically

Have a box in your inventory that’s high priority for resources only

Prayer doesn’t cost favor like it did in Elona, it’s a great skill to put on your action bar

One of the tutorial npcs that joins will give you seeds for proper plants (ex: tomatoes) on a quest. I guess the others you just buy in time or find in the wild.

there's a quest you get from loyet (or whatever his name is, my memory is trash) that rewards you 5 tomato seeds, 5 shroom seeds, and 5 pasture grass (livestock feed) seeds
you also sometimes get seeds just from chopping up plants. if you need more, check the world map tiles directly around your base. (you can enter any world map tile by clicking on yourself)

They reset every once in a while. If you mouse over the tile and it has no name, it has reset.

This was true in Elona, but in Elin they persist for some time. New enemies might spawn though.

it seems to just be the case if you have no offhand, so pretty much all "1-handed" weapons are actually "versatile", in D&D terms. as your 2 hand skill goes up when using a regular axe/sword (even though the tooltip lists the weapon damage and then martial arts damage, which makes it seems like i'm sword mainhand and punch offhand, but anyway)

Make sure you are raising the potential at the trainer in the camp North of you base.

I get 500~600 from the boss of a level 2 (lowest level) dungeon. Add in the loot and it's probably closer to 800~1000 per dungeon.

If you are interested on trying it but are still unsure, just download elona+ (its free) that is basically the same game. Elin is elona but better so far (imo).

If you just want any food, go kill some animals or find some berries, nuts, or eggs. You can find them on any wilderness tile. Farming is better for making specific foods which help increase your stats but you can worry about that later.

After the duo give you a training dummy, you can set it up next you your bed and beat on it for a few nights, when you have around 10 in your weapon skill, low level dungeons should be doable as long as you don't get surrounded. Beating the boss of a dungeon gives way more than finding junk to sell.

If you've already grabbed all the shit in your hell hole then go ahead and leave whenever you want. Depending on your race and class combat at the early levels may be hell(killing bats and crabs is a pain in the fucking ass if you don't have magic or a weapon that triggers elemental damage) but you should still be capable of entering world tiles near the road, scavenging whatever you can get(food and flowers should be your top priority early on) and leaving the map if you encounter an enemy you can't deal with. Make sure you bring a bed with you.

No that anon is correct, you didn't do it right. It doesn't matter what tool you use to harvest. If the crop is fully grown you're going to get said crop. If you harvested tomatoes and you didn't get any tomatoes it's because you harvested too early. The game makes a clear distinction between "gather" and "harvest." They are not the same.

The game by default has you lose affinity if you talk to companions too much, there is a steam workshop mod that changes this one aspect to neutral so it doesn't lower if you want.

You can sickle plants that are fully grown for seeds. It'll say "Harvest" rather than "gather" when you have the sickle out and it's applicable.

Also, make sure your land isn't full of weeds/trees/etc so that the soil isn't ruined, or you'll get fuck all seeds back.

Enter any tile on map and kill sheep or chickens and gather berries and mushrooms. Craft stations until you get a sickle, hoe and shovel. Then collect crops + seeds with sickle and plant. You're playing stardew valley.
Alternatively go to the city and buy rations, they're dirt cheap and fill you up. You just need cash, which you get by crafting chairs and tables and selling those in the sending box thing, or delving in dungeons and reselling books/potions/staves. Go to tinker camp and identify shit or pick the appraiser skill there too from the trainer. You get trainer coins by doing quests from the board. Easy, just 3 hours of playing for me

It's a wild sandbox RPG with some of the best and most thorough interactivity in the genre. You can be a farmer, a prostitute, a murderhobo, a pickpocket, and more. You can marry your pet cat and ride into battle on your trusty steed, a little girl you genetically combined with a horse to make a centaur. It uses a learn by doing experience system similar to the elder scrolls and there's effectively no limit to how good you can become at fighting or farming. You should ideally have some level of tolerance for grinding and getting your character to even a basic level of competence can be a long road. But if want a comfy fantasy life simulator with a million options on how to play and what to do, nothing comes close to Elona and Elin

Make sure you don't harvest until you see actual tomatoes on the sprite. Learn the farming skill in Yowyn if you haven't.

The game is balanced around you dying every now and then.
Especially when you start out and have to learn the game you will die A LOT.

There is a lot to learn and you seem like someone who has never touched Elona so you're going to need that hand-holding.

You're not forced to do it. You can just run out and start looking for shit to kill if you can't handle tutorials in games that filter a vast majority of players.
