The game is indefensibly bad, but you like it anyway

The game is indefensibly bad, but you like it anyway.

Which game is it, anon?

I’ll go first

IMG_6887.png - 256x326, 183.64K

The fuck are you talking about?
Why would I like a bad game?

fishing gear theme should've been the entire game's bgm because of how often you use it

It's not offensively bad, just a bit bland, repetitive and awkward.

Gotta love how this piece of shit tried to get around Sony's load time restrictions by having the game soft reset during loads, but fucked it up bad enough that something like 1 out of 5 load screens on PS2 would crash the game. Still beat it as a kid though

two characters were exclusive to purchasing the game at either Gamestop or Best Buy

a Goku character in Naruto crossover outfit was preorder exclusive

customizables unlocks were timegated

no real single-player mode, just co-op but with bots instead of real players

no offline multiplayer

Still had fun online because of being able to voice chat with everyone in the lobby

NPC response

Because it might be fun despite it's glaring flaws.
I'll go:

DS2

Sonic Adventure 1 and 2

Spore (anything past creature phase is both bad and not fun)

Diablo 3

Spongebob game

Actually get's a french guy to be narrator instead of Tom Kenny doing a Cousteau accent.

I just enjoy the cutscenes.

>Spore (anything past creature phase is both bad and not fun)

Except Space Stage. But yeah 3 and 4 can suck a dick for being a mediocre RTS and a baby Civ.

Felt like space stage was too limited in scope. I didn't find the diplomacy stuff much fun and the ship combat was bad.
Terraforming is interesting in theory but was always disappointed to find you could only put a couple species on one planet at a time. Would end up just using the tools to turn the homeworld of a race I don't like into an unlivable shithole for laughs.

>Sonic Adventure 1 and 2

They're not perfect, but "indefensibly bad"...?

Nah the fun is terraforming and just fucking around till you get bored.

Can you elaborate on these restrictions? Sounds interesting.

Did anyone play the point and click spongebob games as a kid?
That shit is still quite nostalgic to me - although in the echelon of point and clicks they're very low tier

The Sonic Adventure games were good.
Sonic Heroes is the bad Sonic game that I love anyway.

Yeah. Cutscenes were very shit but in a endearing "early 2000s" sort of way.

Yeah I have fond memories of playing the spongebob movie point and click game

spore hero wii (too limited but the whole game is pretty much creature stage which is a huge plus )
alice in wonderland for the ds (the gameplay is bland after a while but i really like the artstyle of that game a lot)
the sims 2 (gba and ds. might as well add bustin out for the gba as well.)(i know they are not real sims games but its fun to me at least)
same i had most of the gba spongebob games.i think the movie game was my favorite

dust 514

kino vehicle gameplay with real consequences for sucking

eve online bombardment shit was cool

i had a kbm interface device because fuck the ps3 controller

What can I say, it felt more Sonic than the Wii U version.

Indefensively bad is a very strong word, for a very early gen Gamecube game, I think it did pretty good for a licensed game.

catchy music

full cartoon voice cast

comfortable lighting

well-off variety of goals to get to the end

As an adult, yeah, it's not gold, but as a kid, it was a pretty fun game, and it did some things I'd argue better than Battle for Bikini Bottom in a few aspects, personally speaking. The devs were pretty good Spongebob fans and put care into it, just a shame they got Boiler Room'd, then THQuck choked them out of the industry, that was scummy.

horrible movement and combat in a platformer

Kusoge

but good level design and sexy women and badass lion

I will now play your game anyway

This game is barely functional and violently unfunny and I've played through the whole thing multiple times.

How do you make a well received Alice in Wonderland series and then also make this?

God you can tell they just completely ran out of budget/time but the ideas were solid, then Soulstorm completely changed the lore for some reason before completely bombing

With the amount of jank and unfun playstyles, most people who aren’t Sonic fans would call them bad games. Especially since each rerelease makes them worse

Absolutely fucking hated this game. The snow levels are especially terrible. You have to push around a snowball until it reaches a certain size, while another snowball chases you and tries to destroy your snowball/push Sonic off the ledge. It was maddening.

look at the studios official YouTube Channel

latest video is interview with literal whos with 500 views

last video about Oddworld was 2 months ago with 2000 views

Grim.
All they had to do was remake their games, during the prime years of game remakes having standing ovations, and they took the oddest (heh) angle by essentially rewriting the franchise with the second games remake

this shit

torin.jpg - 639x361, 41.38K

How do you make Hell Beneath and also both of Doom 2's sewer maps?

Neopets dot com

oh also

alienaa.jpg - 640x480, 39.58K

Easy, just inflated the cunts ego to the point it finally pops, it’s spottable too, “American McGee” is tiny on the original Alice box art but there it’s bigger than the games subtitle then for Alice Returns he’s completely removed from the cover after being slapped down to reality.
You can literally watch the fall from grace with 3 google searches

Specifically the English dub

Are there other games like pic-related where pretty much the entire fanbase will admit "yeah it's objectively pretty shitty, but I like it anyway."

file.png - 480x360, 168.8K

THQ really just did whatever with nickelodeon games in the early 2000's

No you're kinda right. At first I though the Wii U ver was the better version but the 3DS is debatably the better one, gameplay wise.

The 2D levels in the 3DS ver is way more snappier and faster then the Wii U ver. The Wii U's was unusually slow, even spindashing felt slow.

3DS took advantage of the 3D levels a little better then the Wii U ver too. Most felt like an actual 3D level where you can actually roam, not just linear corridor style the Wii U ver did. It also took advantage of the parkour mechanic better, something the Wii U ver didn't do enough of.

Wii U still has better levels overall. Few levels in 3DS was pretty bad(that fucking snowball level)

I'm here to speak for others, not myself.
Ultrakill

It's been a while since I heard the story, but Sony had a really strict policy as part of their QA process that games couldn't go more than 6 seconds without something on the loading screen changing. Revenge of the Flying Dutchman failed this test, likely because bubbles appearing on screen were a kind of progress bar, and the game could go longer the 6 seconds per tick on longer loads. Their solution after the game failed QA approval was to tell the system to soft reset if a certain amount of time had elapsed on a loading screen. I don't know exactly why this works, but Bethesda used a similar trick to pass QA when porting Morrowind to the original Xbox. Only problem is that since it was such a haphazardly thrown together solution, the resets can happen in the middle of data being loaded into memory crashing the game. Nintendo didn't have the same policy, so the GameCube version doesn't have the crashing issue

That's a case of the fanbase being indefensibly bad, not the game

Red Steel

This and Dead Island 1 + Riptide. I just like zombie games.

no, the game itself is bad with 100% style

there is one thing that made zombiU worth playing and it was the secondary screen inventory during threat playtime. The non WiiU version removed this entirely

I loved this game as a kid.

I completely forgot Ubisoft already did the perma death random main character thing before Legion

I bought it cause i liked looney tunes games on PS1

I like the movie though

LTBA_front.jpg - 265x376, 24.17K

What is the guy known for adult humor made a children's game?

Surprisingly, it's REALLY dull and tropey.

so bad but i could fly around my sim cities

simcopter.jpg - 400x256, 21.81K

funny to think that they combined the gameplay of the most hated dbz game with the character creator mode of the other most hated dbz game (ultimate tenkaichi) and ended up creating the kino that was xenoverse.

and it did some things I'd argue better than Battle for Bikini Bottom in a few aspects

which things
better a negative aura than what aura spongebob games have now

The PC version of Spider-Man 2 (2004).

I downloaded this recently, thinking like a retard PC vers. = better vers. I probably would have loved this on release if I had this before the PS2 version, seems like a kino experience for study hall or a laptop in the library.

I got monopoly on PC from a cereal box and its slow and looks awful but i loved the charm

I had both games myself. I was just a Spider-Man nut and liked everything. Had a nice trip through memory lane last month going through the list of Spider-Man games and realized I've actually played every single one.

Karl Marx fuck Karl Marx he's a big fucking faggot pussy

Suck my balls my hairy fuckin big balls wrap em around your fuckin mouth

Rogue Warrior.png - 1288x706, 292.97K

Damn, would you recommend Shattered Dimension or Amazing? They look good enough but I never bothered to even download them because I just never gave it a second thought.

How would you feel if you didn't have breakfast this morning?

but I did eat breakfast though

I like this horrible game you posted because I used to play it with my big sister while our parents where fighting and throwing glasses, knives and plates at each other. We didn't even have a memory card so we were essentially trying to speedrun it before our dad would rip out the cord. Good times!

What the fuck happened to Mickey Rourke? Why did he bog himself?

I was unironically hyped for this game before it came out. It was probably my first- well...second biggest disappointment in gaming in my life. The first was renting Superman 64 from Blockbuster and thinking it would be good.

I think that's just Alcoholism. Dude sounds like a surly drunk most of the time.

I would. Shattered Dimensions more than Amazing. Shattered Dimensions graphics hold up very well and the combat's decently fun. Harder to like Amazing since the open world's done so much better in other games and the game just looks flat and bland now, but I'm stupid enough to like that one PC game because you aim to swing even if it's ridiculously limited so I also somewhat liked the Amazing games' swinging system despite its oversimplification.

How hot was your sister?

Very hot, she had huge tits really early into her puberty.

Noice.

do you think this may have influenced how you feel about the game

I sometimes still get horny watching spongebob clips.

Trailer park?

Mining town 10 years after the mines closed and everyone became an alcoholic without perspective and purpose in life.

Damn. You're doing fine now though, right?

he peaked with Spun

That's a hilarious thing to try and explain to people if they somehow notice.

When I was a kid I couldn't discern any change in quality between any of these sponge bob platformers. I would just rent them and get more or less the same thing every time. But then again I was a stupid kid

I often wonder if the original idea to make this FF a musical would’ve helped in any way, development wise I mean, I don’t expect Final Fantasy to have decent writing anymore

Wanting Superman 64

Wanting to play some barely made COD Clone

Anon you're trying too hard here.

This was back before YouTube existed, so I couldn't look up gameplay, and I was also 8.

As for Rogue Warrior, it looked like it was going to be a stealth game, not a generic shooter.

Just by how shitty the control scheme was for the ps2 controller, i suspect portal runner must have been a canceled 2001 dreamcast game. The way vicky moves with the awuful controls is even worst than many ps1 3d platformers. The graphics look like 1998 dreamcast game.
