It isn't a bad game. It's a middling-good high budget game with some notable flaws. It doesn't stand out among its peers but it does reflect the flaws and strengths of contemporary AAA character action RPGs.

They're the reason why Capcom can get away with micro-transactions in single-player games. This shit is like a warning label that the game is going to somehow be awful, and if it good, will be made awful or gain an awful sequel later on.

I kept being reminded of Hogwarts Legacy while playing it. It's technically impressive which is saying something considering it's Bioware, and it's a pretty game, but the writing is comically shit and all RPG elements feel tacked on to the point of being pointless.

id love to say that dragon age veilguard was one of the biggest gaming disappointments of my life but that honor goes to mass effect andromeda. i was so excited for that game, it came out and was so bad i quit playing 4 or 5 hours in.

i knew veilguard was going to be bad from the get go this time around, still got the EA play sub to try it. also quit it after some hours. then I went and downloaded origins to play through hte human noble origin and there was more stakes, emotion, and dialogue options in just that origin than about the 6-7 hours of veilguard i played. its fucking crazy

Its quite a bit bloated and all the deep roads content had nothing to do with the deep roads setting itself but with side character plots
