BLUE PRINCE

And, as it was foretold, I am awakened at the sound of a new Blue Prince thread. And... I suspect you wish me to look into the thread's future. I see... late game spoiler tags, read accidentally... seething at RNG... luck issue... and retards... filtered by toddler maths. What you have heard here has been foreseen... by the great anonzara.

DO NOT OPEN!

you are like little baby, watch this

you should be able to solve this

file.png - 1836x1080, 1.23M

I am of the opinion that video games should be fun.

Dart board is starting to filter me uh oh

Sure, sure, You forgot something. GAME IS ASS AND DESIGNED TO WASTE TIME BEFORE THE REFUND PERIOD. GAME IS EASILY PIRATABLE. Strongly suggest pirating, then buying if you actually like it. I'd bet my wrench that you don't.

dare mode is fucked
curse mode is FUCKED

finally figure out all four gallery pics

half of them still make no sense and would be almost impossible without the theme

Still don't get how you were supposed to solve the P wagon one

try to do the trophy for beating the game in one day

make a new save

manage to overwrite my main save on day 36, last backup was day 24

assume I'm retarded

fix it in a save editor, takes hours to edit everything and unlock what I couldn't edit

Today the devs admit there's a bug that will overwrite saves if you make a new one

The letter "P" is placed "on" "red" objects that are reversed. "Red" reversed is "der". P on der.
Fuck this game.

I swear to god, most of the puzzles in this game only made sense in the developer's head

8 years

what the fuck

file.png - 729x1204, 788.59K

There's a few notes like that, it says dig near west bridge or something like that. It's where you find one of the microchips for Blackbridge.

when you realize you should RAISE security once you get keycard

im so smart

did anyone finish this game yet?

Hey asshole what's so toddler math about reversing digits? (i.e. taking 31 and flipping it to 13) Where the hell do you get that logic out of square root symbols? These are the kind of puzzles that piss me off about this game, there can be intriguing ones and then there's just pulled out the hat bullshit like this.

That one dude who is cheating is probably the furthest outside of journalists who write guides

tfw you lower the security level when you don't get the keycard

every door now requires keys

game doesn't spawn keys that day

Break Room

Not my problem

So is endgame supposed to be you trying to find the mom?

I cheated my way to the end, but it's not the actual end.

There are no more cutscenes, at least. But there are more puzzles, all the numeric core bullshit is still up in the air.

oof i'm only on day or so still trying to figure out what the fuck is this game even about
but after reading this thread i think i'll give up, finding out all this cryptic shit doesnt sound fun at all

This game did the absolute, most vilest, niggerest shit to me

did the throne room shit, decide to try red scepter + paper crown to see if it's a different ending from the blue one anon posted

nothing triggered so I decide to load the save file I copied with blackbridge

when I use the save file I see the chess room is closed which is weird

reload the second save which is further ahead, the chess buff and room are completely reset (meaning I have to do it twice again) and the tunnel is filled with crates again

no idea what else has been reset

literally lost like 5 hours of progress doing this shit. if you are not cheating you're stupid because this game actively hates you and wastes your time

Untitled.jpg - 2554x1429, 540.93K

I think the classrooms explicitly teach the math rules. But the idea of needing a 30 hour puzzle to repeat (!) a puzzle you've been doing since hour 1 is retarded.
Everyone should look that shit up. The dev really expected people to play this game for 200 hours doing the same shit.

It would be fine if there wasn't a layer of RNG thrown on top of things to make stuff more of a chore than it has to be. I swear this game was designed as a straightforward puzzle at first, like having to construct the perfect house with floorplans available to you at the start, and then threw on the rougelike deckbuilding to pad time to it.

Get to the credits? Can be RNGed with pretty much no mental work. In fact more RNG than mental work. Get to what data mining shows is the last cutscene? Also doable. Theres stupid ARG looking shit and other shit that involves getting multiple RNG jackposts, but it's not clear if that should count as an end.

Game is fucking SHIT. And I guarantee that the people naming it GOTY from the shill squad weren't putting big hours into it.

Once you get to the algebra classroom you can work it out from the worksheets. Each person only missed like 3 questions so if you at least know what squares mean you can figure out the rest without doing any math.
A decent number of the horseshit puzzles seem to get bigger hints the further into the game you get, so even if you don't figure it out immediately you'll probably get it eventually.

Yeah, from datamining I can see that there's only a throne of the blue prince, none for black or red. Whatever is left is probably obsfucated, there are no more cutscenes so I'm looking through audio files to see if there's some mommy dialogue shit.

I'm still playing after seeing the credits, but I honestly can't tell you why.
I know you can go back to room 46 and there's something there but it's like I don't care.
There doesn't feel as if there are any puzzles worth stressing over.
I regret wasting my time with it.

I regret wasting my time with it.

You and many others.

Seems like you've found a New Clue.

How do you get Red Scepter? Or is it in the Throne Room and I just missed it?

I think I finally broke my shackles. Someone in the last thread told me that I need to grind out deposit keys + get vault in the same day everytime to do the sigils legit. I'm done.

escape.gif - 400x475, 1.55M

The deposit boxes stay open if you've opened them.

Yeah but the different boxes hold different passports you need. I managed to open 2 so now I would need different deposit keys on days where I also get the vault.
It's over. From now on I'll just be shitposting in threads.

everything resets each day!

...except for these randoms things

I just don't get it.

I reached the underground. Whaaaat now???? I can't do shit with the cart blocking the way, water filling the underground and the moving bridge can only move me to useless spot with a map. How do i even break the wall in the basement to make a shortcut?

Just because they explain a horseshit answer later doesn't make it any less horseshit. If you give a problem with mathematical logic there's no logic to adding an arbitrary function that has nothing to do with math. It's there soley as a roadblock to get you to use whatever mcguffin they added later to the game.

we're all collectively hate-playing this game for some reason. Seeing how much of a twisted downie fuck the dev is is the most interesting thing about the game

is there a trick to the shellter safe? I checked the date in the design room and put the exact date 1 hour in the future but the safe still doesnt open

Pretty sure it's broken if your region is not set to the US

You have to move the cart from the other side, and there are two ways to get there from ground level.
You don't need to bother about the reservoir for now.
Basement wall needs a power hammer. Good luck getting all the materials and the workshop in one run.

Change your computer's locale.

in continuation because the thought just crossed my mind, one of the first bullshit answers is the safe in the fancy bedroom. What the hell kind of logic is equating a safe combination to the date a picture was taken on. And if you didn't know what holiday it was, how would you know the date? It's presumptuous logic that seeps its way into every aspect of this game, it's infuriating a game like this is getting media attention while stuff like Lorelai and the Laser Eyes with ACTUAL logic presented in its game in the getgo gets glossed over. Maybe if Laser Eyes added a deckbuilding system it would get more praise from reddit normies, god damn it.

Foreign date standards can fuck up the check because the game is poorly coded, but to be sure you should go to the vault, because that tells you exactly what day it is.

Did anything cool happen? I tried secret passage and it was a waste

Store the key in the coatcheck.

I was only able to make electric magnifying glass and light the torches in the mine but this only giving me a tunnel plan

I don't have a key. I don't have a coat check. I'm not playing the video game right now or in the future.

Why are you people playing this game? You know it's shit, are you just hooked because you think "it must all be worthwhile in the end"?

Design room always show the present way to get pass the great hall, the date should be correct. Especially since they even hanged the calendar with "Day One" on it

It was free on game pass.

Sunk cost fallacy, mostly.
There are one or two interesting puzzles, they're just buried under a ton of shitty wordplay puzzles and endless rng.

It sounds crazy, but I find the act of drafting the rooms fun even if it actively impedes the puzzle I'm trying to solve.
Then again I'm someone who spent about 25 hours purely doing the pirate bounty missions in starfield.

I have nothing else to do, and the idea of solving puzzles before the retarded redditors do is appealing. I'll probably give up soon though, what's left seems autistic.

3 keys and 13 steps in the 7 hall behind a door locked from library, wat do
archives cucked so only two fixed plans
middle chamber is open but since right turns are rare i want to increase odds and try to get the lever in 7 hall
but gambling with 7 halls means losing keys though i deduce remove 2 doors, so its 4 door odds
i need to keep at least one key for the maids door and possibly more if i have to keep going left of chamber instead of middle
also running low on steps since i need to backtrack and im desperate for dinner, if i could open a room to right of 7 hall and get steps that'd be a godsend
i can either use one key in 7 hall to reenter, or have to backtrack through library so i sacrifice either one key or six steps, losing six steps would fuck me if i have to keep going left without food
so many agonizing tradeoffs here

I'm someone who spent about 25 hours purely doing the pirate bounty missions in starfield.

How many people did you need for the dart puzzle?

I kinda want to spin up cheat engine for infinite dice and resources so I can draft my "perfect" house.

This.

what to use the axe on?

If I am going to shit on the game properly, I intend to do it while having a deep enough knowledge of the game to do it most effectively. This had big press push it as a GOTY contender, and we're seeing some obvious shilly types who clearly haven't played the game at all.

It wasn't the quality or deckbuilding. It's having the right friends and being part of the right tribe.

FUCK righties

curse mode gives you 13 steps each day and each color room except for blue has negative effects slurping keys and gems away

Does the game have what one could call "outside the box" puzzle solving?

Office for value
Passageway for room access
???

I picked Classroom cause I wanted to ace the exam. You only get 3

Simon.

Cloister, Passageway, Trophy Room. Glad I picked those before I learnt of the 3 limit. Time to do the chess puzzle yet again to switch to rook.

Not so far. At this point the puzzles all seem to be contained within the game, I haven't really seen any hints of ARG slop or anything that inventive. There are less interactions than you'd think for a game about drafting rooms anywhere.

still no speedruns

I will not believe a day 1 clear until I see it

I didn't necessarily mean ARG, I meant more like "fuckery with the established rules of the game", stuff like exploiting the mechanics in creative ways, literally noclipping out of the house, etc.

The developer.

You can get some funny combos with the laboratory and active effects, but there's no guarentee of synergies between each run. It all depends on what the game graces you with. If anything, it's easier to hard lock yourself out of progress than to break the game to give you unintended progress outside of knowing metaknowledge about certain puzzles.

Yeah, not really. The closest it comes is using a fairly worthless shrine ability to draft houses from inside the house to the outside house, and a few of them have different interactions in the one room house. But the game tells you to do it for one of them, and the other one feels like a natural choice if you aren't retarded.

You are disabled.

very minor stuff, most of the game is puzzling together info given to you at random and some extra moon logic

yeah, i think im gonna value my 4-way rooms more like passageway and cloister. might use it on aquarium too due to lab allowing more on drafts of it. its an everythign synergy room so just being able to spam those out is nice.

Blue and black are inherently True.
Thus White has to be false, since one box has to be.
Thus "gems are in the false box"

i can't do this anymore. can someone please post a cheat engine table that gives me infinite resources and steps so i can just play the game without wanting to bash my head against the wall due to rng fucking me in the ass nonstop

picked the black one (it was empty)

retardbro...
there must always be 1 false box, since the other 2 are true than white must be false, meaning the gems are NOT in a true box, meaning they're in the false box, meaning it's white.

white box is the false statement, since the other two are true. So it's the one with the gems.

Have you tried reading the rules on the nearby table?

Hack your stars to 500+.

how? i have cheat engine, just zero knowledge on editing save files myself

If you unlock the hidden room by castling via rook/king into the other, does it PERMANENTLY stay open?

The same way you change any variable, scan for it, change it, then scan again until you have it narrowed down.

Yes.

yes, however it resets if you switch save files for whatever reason.

I'm coming up on two hours. I breezed past the 3 boxes and dart board and I'm...mildly intrigued by what I've seen so far. The christmas safe was intuitive for me.

Do I refund or keep going?

why do people solve crossword puzzles??

mightas well question point of puzzle adventure game

I would highly recommend refunding. Just pirate it if you really want to keep playing, but nothing awaits you but boredom. I have 31 hours in this game.

I think it's hilarious that one anon resorted to slur watermarks to stop people on discord from claiming his pictures

so I need to do the 1 day, curse and dare mode challenges before that?

outer room the 46th room

no crown, its replaced with a lore note

kinda disappointed i dont get an early crown. ill try the antechamber next, or the foyer.

Antechamber is more useful.

Only in the sense that you replace visibility to the puzzle and half the puzzle with a slot machine mystery box.

LOL. No. I know some of the journo shills used that phrasing, but theyu're morons. I'd be mad as fuck if I bought this game based on that sales pitch. The rules of the game are hidden behind layers of RNG, so you don't actually build enough expectation to subvert them.

Something like Baba is you is that kind of game. This is NOT that.

Please God just do not play the game
The game gets exponentially worse as you go on, but masochists love being temporally findom'd by the game

Oh you spent 30 hours gathering some RNG bullshit? Good boy, here's uh an upgrade to make gathering the bullshit slightly less tedious!

The gameplay is bad
The story is bad

Someone post the full constellation list from the Planetarium

I'm curious about a game where people cannot stop playing it but also actively dissuade anyone else from playing it

Refund. The gameplay you just did will be repeated for every run. Parlor and dart puzzle 50 times each if you wanna go far into the game. Don't. I got it for free and would still like a refund.

I really like puzzle games where you walk around a mid size world like The Witness but i really hate RNG that ends up wasting your time. Will i like this game?

A crossword puzzle is better than this game

If a crossword were in this game you would have to line up rooms starting with the letters you need and that would be "fun" waiting for RNG to spit out the combination you need

Not the first time something like this has happened.

well after having played it for 30 hours we just want to see the true true real ending and move on

Try visiting an actual casino some time.

youtu.be/COeF1YRoGXw

cat under red flag not moving in the wind

I swear the first alzara vision is one of the most cryptic
and the last two hint at a lot that hasn't come to fruition too

I stopped playing it and I stop by a thread or two to see if there was anything of actual interest I missed. Also some morbid curiousity.

Also, don't play this game

There's ink well (spend stars to reroll) and spiral of stars (slowly gets longer, gives you useful stuff like extra keys based on your rank, then gets too long and winds up just ending your day instantly if you pick it).

I'm playing it purely because I'm a big retard and when I see a puzzle I cannot help myself. I have to know what kind of piece of shit clown car unlock there is at the end, and the journos are all so fucking incompetent that none of them have beaten the game yet so I can't just look it up and save myself hours of pain. Stop, go no further, there is no fun to be had here.

I refunded it at that point. Best decision of my life. But I also have around 20 hours in the game by now so nothing much changed except the tardo won't get a cent from me.

what are some better puzzle games to play?

I just can't be fucked to bother with the numeric core shit.

REFUND. did you not listen to the other anons who didn't and regretted it? You're a complete dumbass if you don't. buy it again if im wrong.

As anon said here, There's a hint of something good but it's not the crapshoot of RNG to get there, whereas anons that have already gone too deep are searching for a big payoff they may never find.

It's a combination of sunk cost, spite, and the part of your brain that makes you turn to look at car crashes when you drive by them.

I've never seen a game that wastes more of your time with RNG. This shit is in a league of it's own. The puzzles are not that good either. Move along or come shitpost with us.

Technically no. you can transfer trophies...if you;'re willing to survive rng hell.. But are you seriously going for full completetion?

The mom is alive? What is she holding?

I'm going to bed soon, so I hope by the time I wake up the gamespot guys have figured out how to "beat" the game from the discord and they'll have solved half the numeric core stuff already, and then I just have to work out where to put it because it seems like most people playing this are too dumb for the dartboard.

a picture of a fat guy leaning back and sticking his belly out

Part of the train map in the safehouse. It's assumed that the numbers correspond to a numeric core, and it turns out that some numeric cores are actually just coded letters.

A letter saying Nigger, can't you read?
Baba is You, Obra dinn, Outer Wilds.

If there was any indication as to what numbers you're meant to core it wouldn't be that bad, just tedious, but yeah having to sum up all possible numbers and hope something appears is a crapshoot. Maybe it has something to do with the statecraft the mom shows, but I don't know, it could be a red herring.

After like a dozen of these color box puzzles I can't be bothered with 8 more underground which only reveals hints to a cryptic puzzle

baba

need to get back to playing it brain kinda fried at one point

obra dinn

outer wilds

I think in general, this games wasting of your time is in a league of its own. Even modern JRPGs tend to respect players time more these days with options like faster leveling, and that genre is the poster child for wasting players time.

Type Help
Isles of Sea and Sky
Paquerette down the Bunburrows
Void Stranger
Tunic

I actually found those quite fun to do. The other ones were sometimes a chore, but those 8 were okay. Look up the puzzle anyway, the hints aren't too bad but it's nice to know for sure that you did it right before you sit there for FORTY MINUTES IN REAL TIME to check.

FUCK no. If you buy this game, and we ever meet in person, I will force my shoes into your mouth, donkey punch you in the head until you bite all the way through, and get you vac banned on every game in your steam library.
If you pirate this game, and we meet, I will take your SSD or M2 drive, smash it with a hammer, mix the bits with used semen from a glory hole in the Castro district in San Francisco, and then box it in steel and throw it into the ocean.

And I'm only doing this because I love you and don't want to see you hurt more. Do you understand?

Yeah I scrolled down enough to see the hints and could figure it out on my own since by this point that level of hints are more on the nose than 90% of the shit you've gotten before

Man I don't even know what you're saying. I'm still collecting sanctum keys

Pretty much all of them. name some of your tastes. We'll find shit.

A letter saying Nigger, can't you read?

I knew mom was based.

New golden idol is out.

Guess what? The sanctum stuff seems near pointless, I guess at best the code on the front of the deed is a numeric core that might be used after you finish the next segment of the game, which is the fake-out ending. To get to that point though, you need 8 trophies.

I can't think of anything else, especially not anything that got named as GOTY by the bigs. The next closest shit are idle incremental games and literal troll games.

roll the rooms and find out nigga

Can we turn this into a Lorelei thread again?

50 gorillion giganiggerwatts space boiler

so far i've just like the usual standouts from have wanted to try and get into stuff like stephen's sausage but i'm worried of getting filtered/brain frying

In the laundry room, it powers a special washing machine with unique exchanges. I remember one was exchanging steps for gems and viceversa.
The Furnace just gives you a free (normal) key.

I forget, but shit that helps marginally with RNG and resources. Just like every other RNG award.

Are the box puzzles sometimes just 50/50 or can you guarantee to be right every time?

my heart was racing so fast during this run holy fuck, this constant pull and tug of progress and abuse, now I understand why people get addicted to gambling and gacha

part of my brain HATES it
part of my brain LOVES it

The latter.

Sorry, we are too angry.

God I HATE the fucking dailies you have to grind out at the start of each run! Grab allowance, run outside, draft room, run inside, parlor puzzle, dart puzzle, terminal shenanigans to get an experiment going. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

baba has gun.png - 1588x698, 12.54K

So what should I be focusing on?

chants of senaar isn't mentioned much here but it's really good too, and lorelei too ofc if you haven't

If you wait a bit I think I can show progress on the Blue Prince inspired game I'm planning on making.
"Inspired" as in on what not to do, of course.

Uninstalling the game
You want a puzzle? Play The Room or something

Try square with a negative value my friend

-9
-9/3 = -3
-3 squared = 9
9x1 = 9
9/3 = 3
3 squared = 9

Thanks. I don't understand when to square. I'm squaring for example the purple 3 and then doing -9/9. I guess I have to remember to always square the result

post mazehousecore

this make the cliffside stuff feel much cooler than it actually is

23 for me
granted, I spent a week just trying to use the car, but still
pretty sure the only item worth putting in the coat check room is a broken lever

This admin key has been deactivated
A little disappointing but getting it unlocked after trying for so long still feels great.

Music is literally 75% of what makes someone interested in something.

I usually had magnetic card key for most days
I dont think the garage is used for anything other than unlock the bunker gate and open the car box for loot

23 to actually reach the room 46. I think I got to the antechamber around day 20 aswell but "WHOOPSIES" you got to go back up.

and open the car box for loot

huh... well shit I really am retarded

Its a shame i used the foundation next to antechamber, rooky mistake from me but im glad the elevator remain unlocked and i dont need basement key anymore. I just dont know what should be my first goal after reaching underground??

you need RNG to find the car key

You need RNG for EVERYTHING you motherfucker

Anyone solved the painting puzzle(F-Face/Ace)? I mapped like half of the rooms but the letters dont make any sense so far

I know
my dumb ass thought driving the car would open another shortcut, not just popping the trunk

For people really late, if I reveal the black aries key, does it stay there in case I don't have a coat check the next day? Do I need to do song and dance or getting the southern cross to appear againor is it just always going to be opened

you can drive a car? I had the trunk key but i didnt use it on the car

I don't have all of the back half of the manor, but I'm pretty sure I have everything important
E I G H T
D A T E S
C R A C K
E I G H T
S A F E S

I don't think you can anymore
I think I'm just retarded

Its wild that before you map out all rooms, you likely opened safes anyways. So many puzzles I've done just gave hints to shit WAY before. Like this one, who the fuck does all the steps for this but has not solved Gallery via brute force???

I got this game like an hour ago and I'm already getting filtered by ADHD.
I'm so fucking bored, just walking around aimlessly reaching dead ends. I get that there's details, tiny secrets and mini puzzles and whatnot but what the fuck am I even supposed to be doing differently? Is this a room drafting skill issue or do I have to just brute force my way through the game to unlock more and more shit until eventually everything just falls into place?

its important for deciphering the safe puzzles for a few of them

You suppose to relax and solve shit little by little. Like playing solitaire by yourself. Not a single consolefag will ever beat this game, they are mentally disabled

there's a gallery?

I think they just hate him for being in Mensa.

let me guess all of the replies are just people who found basic arithmetic and logic puzzles "challenging"

I truly believe console players not being able to screenshot like on PC would really make it insanely-hard mode. 100% no console player is beating it without looking up some parts of a guide.
Early game shit you definitely don't need notes, but you aren't remembering fake language cypher decode shit or random shit scattered around the world like the realm puzzle visuals without notes or screenshots.

Mensa requires a membership fee of $107 per year.

kek. What a paypiggy

what in the

I'd like to know how far he is because there's no way he can keep up with the lategame puzzles without notes

damn, then I shall continue
I'm lucky that my vocabulary skills are decent, but holy shit a few of them required more brain power than I'd like to admit

based 999 IQ redditor

My toolshed only had one item

does coat checking a crafted item mean it's components no longer show up or something?

Spoil the story for me. Rng just isn't doing it for me, I got to the final room twice

For me it's the step after rounding, what the heck is it that can turn 11 into 10 and -18 into 0?

Consolefags will not beat it because they can't write and don't own pencil or notebooks

Story? You think there's some substantial story here?

What is the best build?
I think Root Cellar+Dog kennels and you get most of the doors unlocked without any keys

Blue good red bad
Group including your great uncle and mother were rebels plotting to take their country back or something.
Mom's cover was blown and thought to be dead by the others but is hiding in the house for safety
Other people involved in the "heist" blackmailed your uncle for money

another thing, safes tend to have the solution available to them in the room they are in.

You mother wrote kids book about red prince and swimming bird, thats all i know.

I think the missing potential of the game is that it could had been a cool horror game. Haunted manion would also explain why room change every day.

can you fuck your mom in the finale?

I was hoping that the "more than four answers" was just a one time thing...

I don't like the game but this guy is clearly fucking retarded. So many of the puzzles require you to see small details on books and notes. Not that taking notes is even a good thing. I finished Obra Dinn and Outer Wilds without writing a single thing down which I think is way more impressive from a game design standpoint. It's not very hard to design a puzzle by hiding random shit on random pages in books.

imagine if about 50 days in you saw shadows creeping around corners

does coat checking a crafted item mean it's components no longer show up or something?

Almost 100% sure it does. Haven't seen hammer in 50 days because I have the upgraded one in coat check. The shed should still have two items regardless. Are you sure you didn't miss something small like a gem?
Things like the hammer can also look like they belong to the background wall instead being an interactable item.

Answer is 10

What to do in the underground??? Im just now exploring house randomly, i dont have any goal because i dont know what is important in order to reach northern level...

that makes sense
that was the case for the two I've found so far, shelter and boudoir

OW in comparison is much shorter, and the big knowledge gain are actual simple concepts after you learn about them. The camera sticks and oh shit it can get teleported. Honestly most of the shit is just lore shit, I finished OW blind in about 10 hours and never went to the quantum moon

could have sworn there was some interdimensional stuff going on as well

thats the point, just like puzzles change in parlor and gaming room, each day would also make some spooky changes to the room or freak you out like for example Security room showing some other creep in the camera or something. Not sure why they wanted to make a safe British kids game in a giant mansion where it feels like the people were all murdered and hidden in the basement

Plane
Pane
The ruins definitely look like that underground, and the spires the house was built apparently existed long ago. So probably not discovered yet.

dont worry too much about the underground for now. explore it if you want but the meat of your current progression is still in the manor. you'll have to come back to the underground eventually

Plane and Pane

I don't agree with what he's saying but I agree with his sentiment.
As someone who has IQ level required to get into Mensa myself, I think this is a puzzle game for less intelligent people. It's still fun, but it's not in the upper echelons of puzzlekino.

Plane and Pane of course

These "word" puzzles are dumb because you can just remove letters from the first picture until you find a word and can usually completely ignore the second picture. Here, it would be (window) pane.

it gets really irritating for a bunch. if i had to give advice, its like "think of the solution like you were a retarded child"

I wish the game hinted at it instead focusing on underground after reaching antechamber. Theres a lot of puzzles in the house but im not sure which are just for allowance money and which are for unlocking progress in the basement

Plane and Pane. I'm ESL and got it just fine. The Tier + Tiger filtered me hard though.

Lane

Pane

Plan

idk man

For me it was picture of crowbar as "pry"

I looked as hard as I could. Didn't see anything.
Also just found a battery, with the powered hammer checked, so I dunno.

I've had the power hammer checked, but could find the battery and broken lever again. I think its just the base item like hammer or shovel wouldn't return to the pool.

I just got underground for the first time.
This is almost way too much

There's others, like "crate", that only have one inheriently logical solution. The second picture is just a safety net most of the time in case you run into a word like plane. But again, not very novel puzzles, just dad-joke tier wordplay.

dad-joke tier wordplay

Seems like the target audience for this as well

A certain fat Russian man offers me this game for the low low price of 0 USD, is it worth to download and try?

Yeah that one got me as well. As far as I can tell thats the only time in the entire puzzle where it uses a verb. Bullshit.
I was going crazy trying all kinds of shit like Prybar - Prayer.

yes

are you trying to reach the northern level, aka the antechamber, or northern lever? if the northern lever, you will find out that you need to connect and open up more paths into and through the underground in a way you can navigate to the north lever which is stuff you need to explore for. theres multiple ways to go about it. have you found the foundation? thats the one i used.

I think it's Prayer - Pryer? Using Pryer as a noun, not a verb.

what's the answer to the one with a picture of the manor and a hose?
fuck, it's house and hose, isn't it? goddamn it

guys i finally get it
blue prince = blue prints = blueprints

No
Let me tell you how the game is going to go for you

you begin exploring all these new rooms

a cute little maths dartboard puzzle? A three-box logic puzzle? A cute little intro

progress is fast

oh I need the boiler room for this, and another room as well?

Many days pass

Your focus is now on reducing this tedious RNG

You have solved 80 tedious dartboard equations

You have taken 50 screenshots

You know how to solve the puzzle, but RNG is blocking you

But RNG is the puzzle! Just keep focusing on reducing the RNG via things you can only get via RNG!

Surely this will all be worth it!

I hate this game!

Why do I have to go through so much bullshit to get to the fun stuff? Had to retake the exam because I forgot to turn off speedhack like a retard.

What fun stuff? Genuinely asking because they only puzzle I enjoyed was setting the clocks in the clocktower. I have played 30 hours.

he actually learned erajan

fag.

exam trophy.jpg - 3109x1271, 825.75K

Is the prize for Simon going to be an anime waifu?

This game is kind of shit, not gonna lie
The roguelike aspect is completely retarded

Now that's an interesting decision. I can more than double my allowance but part of me feels the stars are slightly more beneficial.

Does anyone if the Aries key stays if I don't coat check it? Like I wouldn't need a southern cross again

keyyy.jpg - 670x954, 68.71K

the tomb stays open. you don't have to wait for 1:30 or have zero items again, you just need to reinput the clock times.

If you get really abuseable shit, you can raise the allowance quick. Nursey Room upgrade, if you have less than 10 steps gain 20 steps. Lab experiment, if you open map lose 10 steps

find the northern lever

beautiful music plays when I pull it

door dramatically opens

I can't actually reach the antechamber today though

spend the rest of the day gambling in the newly found casino instead

Are you proud of me granduncle?

upgrade

Damn, was going to use this program too. You've got a good collection.

same can be said for stars too

Well high allowance is useful more often until you can then power laundry. More shops to use

Alright, basic bitch blueprint system completed. Excuse the programmer art.
Time to make more rooms and some actual traversable 3D models that represents each tile.
I'll probably change this screen into a drafting table on the left + book containing blueprints on the right.
You better believe I'll be making a non-shit version of this game.

file.png - 1798x862, 276K

Learning for the exam through graded assignments and environmental details is neat, especially when you have to combine stuff from different grades in the actual exam. There is a progression there and it doesn't feel contrived like a lot of the puzzles in the game.

he didn't ace algebra

retard.

am I retard or genius for finishing it without ever using the basement key

I don't see how that helps your point, since the Quantum Moon is explicitly optional lore-only stuff. I completely agree that requiring autistic note taking is a crutch, and most of the games that manage to not require it tend to be more compelling and engaging. La-Mulana gets a pass anyway. I suspect it's just appealing to two different kinds of autism though.

That's what you get if you want something hosted online. I use PureRef locally for the same sort of thing

I was bored and interested in the endgame puzzles but not enough to actually play through the game or code in a neater form or language.
So here's some code to find numeric cores for however is at that stage (tested on the only 2 examples I could find online)

pastebin.com/j10st3pE

Just take that and run it (or chuck it into an online IDE if you're lazy online-python.com/)

Adjust the variable at the top called number_to_run and it should print out the numeric core.

WHERE'S THE FUCKING FOURTH BLUE FLAME LOCATION

The orchard.

Which user is an archive user for the grotto terminal?

Go to the office and you'll find the hint.

You.

gamer.png - 400x263, 226K

What's the hint? I got all flames before I set foot in the office and I never noticed.

Can we turn this into a Lorelei thread again?

It tells you the way to set the breaker. I forgot where you find the note where it tells you to set to purple, but this is the rainbow one.

note where it tells you to set to purple

Mail room.

Oh you're right, it's in the mails, I forgot, guess I didn't get the flames before finding the office then.

play first day

Dislike it

Oh well maybe next day will be better now I understand things more

Play second day

Dislike it

Oh well maybe next day will be better now I understand things more

Play third day

Dislike it

See thread

People who understand it far more still dislike it

Do I just quit wtf is this shit
Is it just an attempt to get people too invested in sunk cost fallacy?

I dislike it on day 80, but I'm still going. Love hate relationship.

Surprised there's fan art of it. It feels like the game just completely died in the media. There were maybe a handful of popular streamers that played it but overall it seems like it flew under most people's radar.
Just makes me bitter that Blue Slop has become fotm despite being so much worse.

You don't have to keep going, why are you doing this to yourself?

Blue Prince is more bearable to look at than Lorelei and is also not as obtuse in initial puzzles.

Is it just an attempt to get people too invested in sunk cost fallacy?

Not just an attempt, that's literally what it is.
It's literal casino tactics in video game form.

dont see anything wrong, classic rougelike game loop like Slay The Spyre where each game unlock or enchance the game based on progress

Is there a permanent upgrade to skip the darts puzzle. I've had enough after 40+ times

because it's not a puzzle roguelike, it's a roguelike game for the first dozen hours then it becomes a puzzle game where you can't solve the puzzle because of RNG.

Wait, it continues after you get the trophy?
That's retarded.

doll wizard tells you the next thing you suppose to do to make progress IF you can RNG his room

there is one to lock it to easy mode

translate the cloud

kek

Isn't that what the billiard's room upgrade is? It doesn't get harder after 40+ anyways.

I wish there was an unlock or item that skips the mini games. I already beaten it i dont want to waste time on additional math or water pumping the pool again.

Also i still dont know how to solve the powerbrake room puzzle with purple lights. It seem too complicated and i dont know what it suppose to unlock anyway

It seems shallow and amateurish on first inspection, but after like 15 days, it starts to dump new stuff on you to keep you going. I actually dropped it early for the same reasons- but it does open up if you keep going

You're still in the tutorial, anon. You don't deserve to retire the dart board yet.

I don't get it. So you go south on the west wing? I have never once seen the room doing this.

i know that i need to make 6 purple ights, its just this is like rubic cube, i know the rules but its still tedious and power consuming to solve this shit for one puzzle that will reset next day

powerbrake room puzzle

Hint: office terminal login

i seen hints in terminal and delivery room but i still dont know how to start to make light do what they want me to do, it still tells me to solve the rubic cube while only providing rules on how they work

You only need 3 answers from then on but yes it keeps going. No more new rules

It'll be trial and error. If you thought purple was annoying, you were wrong.

Motherfucker don't you compare this game to StS

Protip if you're looking to link your boiler-room with something: Activate it before drafting in the activated direction and you'll get a better chance to get a relevant room, in case you don't it'll still indicate if the drafter rooms have power lines to try your luck again.

holy fuck the 46th room is sucking my dick this was so worth it

If you got the instruction sheet from the mail room I really don't see what you're missing.

try to use magnifying glass on screen dirt

apu magnify.png - 657x527, 127.46K

I'm done with the game, I'm only here to watch others suffer

Lorelei is a work of art, like the French new wave cinema it's based on. It would be silly to expect it to be FOTM. Blue Prince is more aligned with commercial tastes.

My runs have been getting fucked since I've sworn off the dart board puzzle.
I need to get another upgrade disk and hope for the simple math upgrade.

Can anyone give me a small hint for the study safe?
I have written down every missing letter corresponding to every room. I also eventually started writing down chess pieces and the rank I found them in before I realized that they're always the same in every room. So I've written which chess pieces are in a lot of rooms but I haven't figured out if it's useful yet or if I'm doing it right.

Goodbye, my master key. You lasted me legitimately 20 days you fucking glorious bastard but I need the crown.

masterky.jpg - 618x1009, 98.92K

You are overthinking it. The picture puzzle gives you a general clue for all the safes, while the specific clue for the study safe can be found in the room. You will probably need the general clue to make sense of the specific clue.

Later on is there any way to adjust the Foundation or is it just stuck there forever?

Think like a retarded child is the best hint. The puzzle is completely contained within that room.

Pray and hope Anne Babbage comes to your rescue.

You need to place a second one in your outer room.

does it work in the same lane, or does it have to be pointed in the exact direction?

I think your best bet is this. Won't see it for a week. This is from lost and found or, if you put 13 gold into the shrine of blessing and then rest in the foundation you can draft the foundation to the outer room. They give you a free spray can to fix this.

Do different coins give different blessings? I don't get Shrine enough to test it.

I am so fucking sick of keypads. If I was smart and motivated enough to make a puzzle game I would include ONE keypad, and there would be no code.

What the fuck

Yes, a book tells you. After the cap, +5 to the number just makes the buffs last 5 days instead of 3. I don't have the image on me actually, but put in 13 coins
I've never seen someone post this in a screenshot yet

The keypads are the easy puzzles though.

That's funny, I was thinking of that as well.
Just plop down a closed door with a keypad next to it, but have the door be unlocked from the start.

Like the safe codes? I hate that I have to reinput them everytime, and watch the scene of camera panning or whatever animation

This has been posted before, but it's not that good in my opinion because of animations.

If you get lost and found late, it makes up for it from all the gems or keys you save. You can definitely get 4-5 rooms if the lost and found was close enough. I got 3 and I had to run some distance.

I still haven't figured it out. The chess piece on the chessboard is on D8 which spells DATE. Other than that there are some scribbled out words related to the pictures, a blackboard giving a clue to the pictures... I don't understand

See you in 10 years

D8, date or December 8 so 1208

D8 is a date

there's no way their QA did the fucking darts shit 1 gazillion times and thought "yeah this is fun, go ahead and ship it"
It's meant to be PURE SUFFERING

I have excess steps usually, so honestly I skip doing it until I run out of keys and then come back for it. At some point you are fishing for specific rooms so often that stopping for safes etc is annoying

I just mean in general, they're so damn common and it's so ingrained that keypad means finding a code that it would be a good curveball to have one keypad that requires an out of the box solution

The fucking ANIMATIONS in this game
If they're going to demand your time then at least don't make them so TEDIOUS and the player movement so SLOW

And whose fucking idea was it to have these tedious daily tasks?

Go outside to the shed every day

Pick up your allowance every day

Whatever other bullshit you need to do before starting your actual run

I hate the developer

Wow, ok. Bit of a stretch if you ask me but oh well. Thanks

Puzzle games are never fun, only suffering. If I'm not suffering, I wouldn't be playing. You think this is some kind of nintendo game?

The game is supposed to be some huge practical joke on the player.

The shed is a crucial mechanic so it should be a place you go every day. It can become things you don't expect.

Here's a crazy idea: allow the player to start their day at the shed so they don't need to walk there and back every day

I'm at the workbench, able to create two different items.
Does the wall in the basement require jackhammer or powerhammer?

Don't know how any of you kept playing when it turned out you can't teleport around the rooms to ones with unused doors and instead have to slowly shart through a dozen rooms when you get cucked by a deadend

dont you love that every click of the keypad has a a full second where any additional input is denied for the next click?

So if the driveway gate isn't supposed to open, then how were you meant to get to the camp and mountain originally?

game based around observation of every minute detail

dude why can't I just teleport?!?

People like you deserve Jon Blow's nausea inducing walking from The Witness.

Gotta wonder if this game had just come out and naturally spread word of mouth style like a lot of the other puzzle/mystery walking sims out there if the reception would be better, 1000 layers of rng included

I decided not to refund. I'm in this with you boys till the bitter conclusion

Power hammer

Jackhammer is only for digging, or getting gems from the cavestone mine

Can I play this game on a 15+ years old laptop with 8gb of ram and an Intel integrated graphics 560? I only play old games on it, but this game caught my attention and I'd like to play it, even if it's at 10 FPS.

100%. I've said this a lot to people who ask me about it. The hyper-overblown prereviews are the reason for most of the community criticisms.

Welcome aboard. Anons here have already almost reached the true ending it seems.

The only mystery I still haven't seen a posted solution for its who has Archive Access on the computer.
Yes

Nice. Now I can feel the same pleasure as if I was playing La-Mulana for the first time with everyone in here.

The hyper-overblown prereviews are the reason for most of the community criticisms.

Yes the game design is perfect

Take the speedhack pill.

speedhack.webm - 1280x720, 3.93M

Players would be more lenient in their rhetoric if was the Little Game That Could, but it wouldn't be any less frustrating to play

Is that a permanent upgrade to your daily gems or just for the day?

Just for the day, with a chance of the entire mine breaking permanently every time you mine a gem out.

Which is dogshit obviously, risking the mine for higher daily yield is a real choice.. I guess the idea is once you see something is in the draft pool, you would pick something else, run out and mine it, and then come back and fish for it. Cause every day maps are added in a draft, so you can't just infinite dice reroll to get for instance every high tier map in a single day. Atleast as far as one of the cheaters the other day experimented with

I'm officially at the point where I'm obsessing and seeing things that may or may not even be there

you can permanently brick the mine

what the frick

heard this contains adware and malware

Malware no, adware only if you carelessly click trough the installer. Alternatively you can compile it yourself.

What would the 'The Looker' of this game be called?

Purple King

Blue Balls

seeing these threads makes me grateful that playing the demo was enough to make me nope out of this game

ive beaten cursed mode, i feel so giga brain right now.

every day you start with 13 steps
shops take away money
green rooms take away a gem
hallways take away a key
red rooms take away 1 of everything

used coat room to painstakingly collect parts for the power jack hammer, never even got the foundation.

IMG_4732.jpg - 3840x2160, 697.65K

Foot Prince

Is it a fresh save thing or does it use existing upgrades, like if you reach antechamber do you still need to go to the basement and flip that switch? Or you can have your lab experiment open the door for you.

you start on a fresh save file but progress is saved each day, you import the won trophy into your main savefile with a computer on your main file

Okay so its not that bad. I would probably try to get the microchips for the lab experiment packet, which would require lab+boiler, and the burning glass. Then RNG reroll for the shelter outside via unlocking the garage prior. Start lab experiment on the computer, and then get something that either sets steps to 40 that I can abuse, or antechamber levers.

Does the Crown respawn in Room 46 if you lose it? I've been putting it in Coat Check because I'm too afraid to lose it.
