TOW also read like it would be really cool, then I actually played the game. Even though the rpg elements have pretty good bones (too many "lol +10% damage durrrr" perks though), everything else is so uninspired that I can't even remember any characters or story beats or locations. A perfectly "fine" game, nothing more. I suspect the same will be true of the sequel. I might pirate if I have literally nothing else to do for 30 hours.

The public mythos of No Man's Sky is a testament to that. I picked it up months ago. First time ever playing it. I am absolutely sure most people praising its redemption have not tried it.
