I can play anything I want, if my pc breaks I can replace the broken part with ease, I can run mods or pirated games, I have a lot more control over my machine, I'm not locked into anything, if I want better performance I can upgrade specific parts of my computer without needing to buy an entire new thing.

Nothing's perfect but I get to play my games and know that even if I upgrade my rig I can still have my games work even if it requires work instead of relying on backwards compat from console manufacturers. That alone puts it leaps and bounds above consoles.

Controls are better, you have modding, you DON'T have to shell out money for a faggot subscription service (in an industry becoming increasingly abundant with that body bag worthy bullshit), and you don't have to buy a new gay station or faggot box on which you can't play the games from the last gen. Once I stopped being poor and got a good PC I've never once thought to play console ever again. I had to put up with how limited they were while seeing all of these amazing mod videos on youtube when I was a teenager. I don't need a subscription service to play any game online.

It's not perfect, but PC builds last for longer than most consoles do nowadays and pound for pound end up being worth the expense.

You can do a lot of cool shit with your upgraded PC that isn't even gaming related like doing more robust programming, scientific calculations, graphics stuff, and anything else like that. You can't do that on consoles and you can't use emulators or otherwise play older games unless they were designed with backwards compatibility (which tends to be limited and only goes so far back into the past).

PC is about as good as gaming gets and has been ever since the 7th/8th gen.

I can sit in my comfy chair, throw up something to watch on the other screen, chat with my friends while either playing with them or doing something on my own, and don't have to sacrifice performance or flexibility in anything. If I feel like coding, mixing music, video editing, or even emulating old games with quality of life improvements I can do it easily. If I ever run out of space it's a simple and relatively inexpensive upgrade. It's the pure flexibility of being able to play and do whatever I want on a machine that I built and have full control over.

Here is the actual answer:
PC is generally the enthusiast platform. You're absolutely spending more money for diminishing returns, but the returns are there. I am able to play my games in a higher resolution, at higher framerates, and at higher fidelity. However, it cost me much more money than a console. In addition there is more maintenance as games can crash, settings have to be fucked with, etc. I do not believe PC is inherently better than consoles anymore like I did when I was a retarded 16-18 year old. I recognize that a PS5 Pro is a really good deal and lets you play most games at an acceptable level.
For me, however, I really want the best of the best so I am gonna spend an inordinate amount of money to do so. In addition I have benefits like almost never having to worry about "backwards compatibility" or "upgrade packs" . Unless a game is from the early 2000s or earlier, they just work on modern hardware and automatically scale their performance. Sometimes this has issues, but mods are always there go fix even the most niche games. Mods are another big reason. Furthermore I enjoy being able to use KB+M, A controller, or any other type of control method I want. Lastly, PC also has games exclusive to it. Almost every indie game is made for PC first (due to Steam's ease of access) so it gets like 99% of indie games, and Sony/Microsoft do not view PC as competition and put all of their games on it eventually.

These days I use primarily PC because pretty much every new release I'm interested in has been released on PC. That used to not be the case, but every console aside from the Switch (which I do own) is so unbelievably not worth the purchase. Also use PC to emulate old games.
