Name a flaw

It's Persona but worse. There, that was easy.

It's way better than Persona but not as good as SMT.

Anyway to answer OP, no Mage Academy arc

It's woke censored tranny slop just from Japan

can't fuck the fairy.
dropped instantly when i found that out.

can't consider buying it until Sloplus rereleases it with 0.05% more content and a new girl, I ain't buying it twice

dungeons are kinda shit
also things feel a bit rushed after 9/11
still a very cool game

it's not a simile

I found the dungeons pretty good, especially Shinjuku and the Palace. The lesser dungeons are samey but they have some nice layouts especially the Tomb style ones.

Btfo'd by 33

the environments and especially the dungeons seemed to come from a PSP era megaten game, copypasted blocky fucking square rooms and shit

Emasculation 33 faggot try not to bring up his shitty game in unrelated threads challenge

Difficulty: IMPOSSIBLE

Mama Mia!

Shibuya, Royal Palace and Tyrant Star were standouts but the rest of the dungeons were largely forgettable.
My god is the Royal Palace theme kino though.

Chanting goes so long you can hear him running out of breath

it looks and runs like shit, the anime cutscenes look like shit

GOTY 2024 tho

invalidate entire job system at the 80% mark

spend entire game building up the Academy as this huge deal and never go inside, just show up outside for one fight and then leave

easy to do everything with time to spare on the first run with little effort, no reason to do NG+ which makes the one boss locked in it frustrating

that said it has plenty of good points and is more appealing than anything they made when they ran P-Studio

obviously cut content that will be added in a classic atlus re-release

Atlus said they aren't doing Royal-style re-releases anymore.

There are no characters in this compared to P5. It doesn't do the themes justice.

P5 does its theme of rebellion incredibly dirty though, metaphor and its characters stick to its principles for better or worse

No fairy romance (don't care about anyone else, this could've just been canon)
Royal archetypes for anyone except the protagonist
No playable Catherina
That's pretty much it

No fairy romance (don't care about anyone else, this could've just been canon)

Eupha is the canon romance thoughever.

go beat demiurge

go beat Gnosticism

Morgana explaining the hope of humanity

Derangement. Every single boss is impactful and memorable. We should never be happy with cookie cutter. It wouldn't be bad if it was executed well in Metaphor. They just don't shine enough.

and yet they have no impact on the characters or the world, god I fucking hate blank slates

Not enough tiny Junah

Biggest issue with metaphor is the designs, especially the party members. They're just really unlikeable. Lina not being a party member is genuinely criminal, she's one of the only characters with a great design, good dialogue, a really good VA. It was a slam dunk and they shoved her into a one real appearance. Not a party member. Not a recurring character/merchant, not even a side quest for her. Dropped ball hard.

bro heismay is one of the best rpg party members of all time

Love this lil nigga like you wouldn't believe

ok I know what a metaphor is but what the fuck is a re fantazio

he's cool. But he's like, the literal only one I like design wise that is an actual party member.

Name a more merciless casual filter in a main story

fghfhfgfg.png - 1122x719, 2.05M

I'm only like 15 hours in, but:
1. The world is not particularly interesting outside of the humans. Discrimination is dealt with pretty badly, you have cat people on the street as a sign of the discrimination in scenes, but then everyone else just seems to be acting as normal.
2. Archetypes are boring. Personas had way more character than grey round mechs. Also not being to swap in fights feels kind of shit coming from Persona.
3. The typical "Persona" mechanics like deadlines and royal virtues feel shoehorned in and clunky. Seems they should have spent more time developing them to suit Metaphor better.

it's boring and overall overstayed it's welcome.

MC isn't depressed 30yo
No ceggs

How would you know? You haven't played it, chartfaggot.

It's way better than Persona but not as good as SMT.

That answers nothing considering Persona is just story heavy with easier SMT combat.

The biggest issue I have with battles in this game is that the restart option for boss fights doesn't give you the option to go into the menu and change around your character's archetypes before starting the fight over.

Instead you either have to let the enemy kill you or end the game entirely and reload. It's such an obvious flaw. It's only an issue because of how important certain abilities are to have in any given boss fight.

No romance options

No postgame content and it feels like the mage academy should have been a dungeon.
Other than that, good game.
Gallica is the best.

I liked the game overall but damn the ending sucks, for such a mature story, it was waaaaaaaaaay too happy-go-lucky, and it's even worse when you take into account that we had the previous king's story and his failures.

The landship being able to teleport ruins the whole conceit.

I'm glad we're realizing the social link mechanic ruins everything and was only ever good in 3.

$70

looks like it could run on PS2

no romance

same gameplay as every other 'sona

cringe JRPG-esque politics and WOW SO DEEP AND ITELLECTUAL conversations

1. No romance in a game about becoming A KING is retarded. Kings need Queens. Outright stupid.
2. The game is too easy once you get a few levels and classes under your belt
3. The king's game is a much more interesting plot than the whole twist about humans and monsters and nuclear war and shit.
4. The game feels like it is offering choices with support and such but it is all false and it is railroaded as fuck

Overall I liked the game quite a bit but it suffers the same issue as Persona 3, 4, and 5: Once you get past the mid game you just kinda want it to be over. The game's difficulty system hits a point where it is becoming too easy, you get into the flow of relationship type stuff and know what is going on, you've seen everything the game has to offer and then it feels like it is throwing arbitrary plot barriers in the way to expand game time. I will say it does better than Persona 4 and 5, both if which were legitimately bloated. Metaphor felt a bit leaner. Persona 3 is even more lean and that is a GOOD thing.

>looks like it could run on PS2

you're too young to remember ps2 games

Kings need Queens.

This anon is ruled by pussy. Women own him. He has no sense of self and his value comes entirely from the validation of a female.
Laugh and mock this poor charade of a human being, Kings.

yai point.png - 930x690, 609.39K

>looks like it could run on PS2

It couldn't even run on Switch.

No romance

A blessing from god himself. Fuck you retards and your pretend relationships

Martira

It's so good.

It is literally the entire fantasy of being a royal. You have a queen. It is not about being ruled by pussy, you retard.

I'm not a waifufag, but it felt extremely strange to me that the game about becoming a king doesn't ever establish the need for a queen. Not like they weren't heavily implying it with the island chick (I forgot the name of basically everyone in the game).

The build up of the chanting feels so good as you're quickly going through each character and unloading all their focused/buffed up attacks on to the enemy.

You have a queen

You don't need a queen. A Queen doesn't need a King. The word Monarchy is derived from "The Rule of One".
A marriage is done primarily for offspring. If you haven't a plan to birth children yet, a Queen is unnecessary.

adding buffs/debuffing the enemy during the chant

Unleashing them during the chorus part

Severe lack of an engaging battle system.

Not him, but Persona is just SMT with dumbed down difficulty (completely taste subjective), and with surface level themes about personal identity and society (P3 and earlier did it better). SMT is more about religion, adventure, and themes about political/religious/societal extremes.

it exists

You know these games aren't only available on Steam, right? Most of the Persona audience would be on consoles, if that wasn't obvious.

and with surface level themes about personal identity and society

They're very well explored. The whole series is a loveletter to Jungian psychology. And the games have more well thought out themes than any SMT game aside from maybe 3 or 5.

The whole series is a loveletter to Jungian psychology.

What's the persona equivalent to Jung imagining gods ass peaking through the clouds and taking a shit on a cathedral?

Yaldabaoth and Maruki by tearing down an established "religion" built primarily for power and self-idealization instead of faith or the wellness of all.

Junah is at least a Norwood 3

Which game, so I can play?

I feel the roadtrip aspect was kneecapped significantly by being able to teleport to any city whenever you wanted
the game also feels really rushed as you reach the finale
also apes the Persona calendar system but isn't really the kinda game for it

Lina was cute, should have had more screentime or joined the gauntlet runner as a mechanic

Go back to your shill threads, fag

a king doesn't need a queen, he just needs concubines to bear his children.

Well shit, I've got persona 5 but I got burn out right after the original big bad, where you have to go back into mementos, I just looked it up and spoiled it for myself

I really hope fatlus copies from this
At least for one experimental side game or something
I get that it’s part of the balancing but I’ve never really been a fan of the death by 1000 cuts thing that JRPGs and dungeon crawlers tend to do. Any sort of good passive healing or mana regen ends up appearing way too late in the game. In metaphor I just abused merchant for infinite money and items. Early game I grinded mana with mage.

I really hope fatlus copies from this

At least for one experimental side game or something

No, kill yourself.
We don't need Atlus forcing Soulslike elements into their games to appeal to normoids.

piss off broccoli head

Just like the Persona series, it suffers from awful pacing. 65% of the story can be cut, it's pure filler.

I don't blame you, P5 is a long ass game and tries to crush all the best parts under huge stretches of text messages and confidants. The final boss and the Royal extra arc are great though.

Unironic leftoid game. You post on resetera or gcj if this plot appealed to you in any way.

irrelevant when you compare it to P3R and P5 mogging it.

Centrist actually. It shits on all forms of extremes because extremists are morons with no sense of moderation or compromise. Literal trash heap tribalistic animals. That's why the races are called Tribes.

its funny that as soon as e33 dropped people started discussing this game again

There’s no extremism these days. You either support the correct side or you think that giving sex change operations to five year olds is acceptable. The fact that you think “centrism” is in anyway acceptable in 2025 shows that you’re retarded. Like I said, this game’s politics were tailor-made for reddit liberals like you.

centrism is not acceptable because i'm a selfish little fuck

The first few hours feel kind of rushed. I imagine they wanted to avoid the slow start criticisms from P5, but man, they really blitz through the first few awakenings

I'm not here to join in your dumb game war. My point was that using Steam sales for the Persona series is just dumb.

There’s no extremism these days

holy shit dude. You just admitted to being a mindless slave to one of the two legs of ((their)) plan.

hehe.jpg - 1920x1080, 152.08K

I thought the actual dungeon designs were strong, just visually poor

Yeah I'll get back to it eventually, just I'd gone from a full binge playthrough of SMTV straight into a full playthrough of P5 in the space of a couple of weeks and just wanted a change in game after the last boss.

the biggest flaws are the game is kind of ugly and the mage innate ability is too strong in dungeons. it needs a severe nerf. also grinding the enemy spawners needs to be removed.

and of course the game would be improved with random encounters over opt-in encounters

steam charts

for a fucking single player game

Christ I hope you ram into a tree next time you're out on the road.

The mage innate is only good for the early stretches in the game. Later on, you have more than enough MP and can restore it easier.

i still found myself doing the mage innate in later dungeons cuz it was so free and i could save my item restoration for a bit later. if the option is there and optimal i'll do it, so best to remove it so i cant imo.

Name a flaw.

Louis was right

Its woke.
Only pro is the sexo fairy

i still found myself doing the mage innate in later dungeons

Not me, it's a pain in the ass to always be changing classes.

velvet room but igor is gay

personas but they all kinda look alike and there aren't as many

popularity counter that definitely won't drop in the third act like persona

etrian twist reveal but worse

s links but no hand holding

only real unique thing is the races but they're all just humans with one funny thing slapped on

battle theme is some guy shouting injun HUH YUHYUHYUH BUH YUHYUHYUH

They worked on this shit for a decade and all they did was remake Persona 5

>battle theme is some guy shouting injun HUH YUHYUHYUH BUH YUHYUHYUH

it's esperanto actually

Extremely disappointing game gameplaywise. Locking classes behind fucking time gated events was fucking retarded
Seriously, what's even the fucking point of the final gunner class? Shit comes out extremely late and was already outclassed

velvet room but igor is gay

Moore ends up being a great character and the twist was kino

the game is kind of ugly

No shit. It looks worse than Persona 5. In fact, the mobile P5 gacha looks at least one generation better.

velvet room but igor is gay

I Found More and Akademia to be a lot more interesting than the Velvet Room personally. The conclusion of his arc is one of the highlights of the game and is a great wrap up of the entire Metaphor theme. Realizing exactly what the Royal Magic scroll in his study actually is is such a satisfying moment.

Weak cast for an Atlus game

Better than the P4 cast at least

Metaphor has my favorite party Atlus has done desu. I like Persona casts but they’ve definitely fallen into following a pattern since 3 so Metaphor was a refreshing change.

The final arc is very rushed, but also kind of empty since you have like a month+ of free time.
I kind of hope we get a direct sequel or something since the ending seems like it is setup for the protagonist to go to another country and the epilogue hammers in that the entire game was just set in a single country.

No Briggita party member

Man am I glad people like this don't get catered to anymore

He ignored literally every point but #1 even though I listed way more issues with the game than romance

Retard.

he thinks the rest of his post was any good

Lol

Everyone who joins after Heismay is not worth using, they're underpowered and require a ton of A-EXP feeding to get caught up.
The fact that letting them cap out on their class just gives you more 1000 A-EXP items to continue feeding to your already built characters just further solidifies Junah, Eupha, and Basilio as bench warmers.
Also the character exclusive archetypes are mostly pretty weak and you can build stronger teams ignoring them. Case in point: my friends latched onto the exclusive archetypes and then were amazed at how I was slamming Louis for 23k damage every two rounds when they never even broke 10k with an attack.

Chanting goes so long you can hear him running out of breath

Yeah I loved that, genuinely made it feel epic.

There's been a constant stream of these shitty bait threads that die ~200 posts in for months now

I can't think of a single thing in this post thats actually true

Because you didn't play the game?

You also get them so late that their social link feels inorganic because you just spend like 10 days with them in a row instead of it building up over the course of the game and being gated by main story progress.

Everyone who joins after Heismay is not worth using

Basilio is a beast

Based

I put Strohl on Berserker/Destroyer instead.
Honestly I probably could have set him up to deal nearly 30k every two rounds, but the build I ended up settling on was Strohl inflicting ice weakness so I could nuke with Dragoon.

Basilio is fucking broken and can solo the final boss easy.

windows defender flags the torrent as virus

Everyone who joins after Heismay is not worth using

One of them can GIVE WEAKNESSES to enemies.
Another is a good all-arounder.
The final party member has the BEST AND STRONGEST PHYSICAL ATTACKS and can GIVE ENEMIES WEAKNESS TO HIS ATTACKS

you are insane if you think they're not worth using.

iirc I can give him that he has the only good Royal, but I still don't like the extra time investment you have to put into him because he has Terry syndrome.
They could have easily avoided this issue by making the late joiners actually start with the pre-requisite archetypes already met, it wouldn't solve the MAG issue since they know zero inherited skills, but it'd be better than the nothing we get.

persona but ugly

One of them can GIVE WEAKNESSES to enemies.

literally dont need it because of Royal Slash

One of them can GIVE WEAKNESSES to enemies.

Another is a good all-arounder.

The final party member.....can GIVE ENEMIES WEAKNESS TO HIS ATTACKS

You can do all of this with any character

Royal Slash is dogwater, it only deals severe damage, not even extreme.

he has the only good Royal

I forgot, Heismay also has a good Royal, just for the passive that gives the same effect as the accessory where if he dodges it ends the enemy's turn. Shit's mega abusable when you have him set with the highest evade gear, 99 agility, and the knight ability to draw aggro.
