Hands down its KH1 for me, they really nailed that perfect balance between Square and Disney in his KH1 design.

Second look at the fucking Smash renders bro that shit BLACKPILLED me on how fucked Sora got. For 2 you lose a little edge but he still largely looks cool but seeing the side by side with the 3D model Sora looks like fucking ASS man. Hes got that weird orange tint on his skin, the spikes are all droopy and gross. Despite any major time passing they decreased his eye size and lifted up the eyeline which looks fucking WRONG. The color pallete is fucked and looks muted and shit(and dont give me shit about how Im comparing it to a CG model they tried to make a better model for the Yozora fight and it looks fucking WORSE). Like fuck man seeing those Smash renders made me wish fucking ANYONE ELSE was given the directors chair

Personally, I think KH2 Limit Form is still the best design. You get the better structure of the KH2 clothes with the better color scheme of KH1. KH3 has too much UE4 stank and I can't really pass judgement on KH4 Sora yet since we've only seen him in Quadratum, which allegedly has a realistic shader.
17-18. He's 14 in KH1, 15 in KH2, going on 16 in KH3, and at least a year has passed between KH3 and KH4 judging by the DLC. He looks a lot closer to 18 in the anniversary drawing (picrel) than the model, though (the new screenshot gets closer, at least)
I like that Sora grew up with us but I wish that he was a little older currently.
I think he'll at least act a little older in 4, honestly. Nomura talked in interviews how he wants to focus more on slow moments where the characters get a chance to develop, which is something this series has honestly really, really lacked.

I started to hate Sora's wardrobe as Kingdom Hearts 2. I hate the spam of Mostly Black With Some Red. I understand KH2 Sora has black but his colors are blended with other lively variety. I hate Nomura's obsession with black clothes for Sora. If anything right now I'm surprised Nomura has not given Sora a Full Black Outfit like the shitty characters from Final Fantasy 15. It utterly drains the color and life out of Sora to see him wearing dark clothing. I just can't fucking stand it.

Here's my concept for an Emperor's New Groove world.
Sora arrives in Kingdom of the Sun just as Kuzco is being poisoned by Yzma and Kronk. That's the opening cutscene for the world.
The poison actually does kill Kuzco. He splits into his Heartless and Nobody as a result.
His Heartless is by far the largest one in the series. Bigger than the Darkside, or even the largest Emblem Heartless.
It goes on a massive rampage across the kingdom.
Meanwhile, Kuzco's Nobody is the llama, this is never adequately explained, but there's a joke about the Nobody symbol being hidden in an awkward place on his body all along.
Sora never meets Kuzco, who goes through a mostly unchanged b-plot with Pacha, unaware of what his Heartless is doing.
Instead, Sora teams up with Kronk, who comically misrepresents the situation.
The New Organization is working with Yzma to try to harness Kuzco's Darkness for their own ends.
When he's being portrayed in an especially negative light, Kuzco diegetically pauses the game multiple times, including during gameplay, to "set the record straight."
The final boss is Kuzco's Heartless. About to destroy Pacha's home, the New Organization is also about to take control of it.
Before you land the final blow on Kuzco's Heartless, he pauses the game one last time and puts his foot down.
"There's NO WAY I have that much Darkness in my heart. I'm a great guy."
He erases the boss, and replaces it with a normal Shadow, which has exactly 1HP, and doesn't even attack.
You still get the dramatic slowdown and all the rewards for beating the boss, though.
Llama Kuzco has gone through all of his character growth with Pacha in the meantime
He falls down a ravine and dies in a slaptstick fashion.
With his Heartless vanquished, this restores him.
Having failed the Organization, and with Kuzco alive, Yzma attempts to escape, but Kronk accidentally mislabeled her potions, so she ends up trapped as the kitten, like in the movie.

I didn't have room for that. That broad summary I wrote already hit the character limit. I think there's a lot to play with with Kronk's conscience. The Angel telling him that learning from Sora's naive optimism and obsession with the Light is a good thing, and his Devil telling him that it's much cooler to be the bad guy, and that Sora's a loser with horrible fashion sense.
