It's gonna suck so bad that even Skyrim players will hate it.
It's gonna suck so bad that even Skyrim players will hate it
I doubt it desu. I think it will have more magic than skyrim, i think bethesda will take fan feedback that skyrim magic was too bare bones to heart.
It may even have more RPG mechanics like starting perks for flavour similar to starfield. I heard rumors they are bringing back mysticism as well
Yuppppppp. I’m even going to pirate it as God intended
It's gonna be funny seeing Skyrim elitists be born, saying how Skyrim is a true hardcore RPG while TES VI is dumbed down and made for casuals.
I'm gonna laugh a lot.
the next es wont be dumbed down more than skyrim. Theres hardly anything more to dumb down. They were also going for a completely different spell system than what they had in skyrim but it didnt work, 90% of it was cut and never expanded on later. The spell system in skyrim was advertised as one where you could put one spell in one hand and another spell in another and when cast at the same time it would create an entirely new spell that combined the effects of each, that whole system was cut down to just making 1 spell a little stronger if cast with both hands and they added a perk to make it always stunlock to keep destruction relevant.
ES6
dragons have destroyed all the towns
you must farm materials and rebuild the settlements
You know it's coming.
Reminder that OP's pic is further from now than it was from Skyrim's release
the next es wont be dumbed down more than skyrim. Theres hardly anything more to dumb down.
Who’s going to tell him how worse things can get
Lol
Lmao
if TES 6 flops would it kill bethesda entirely?
I liked the settlement building in F4
I liked doing it once not
please fill the map with the settlements we forgot saar
Would you like it if ES6 only had two towns like F4?
They would just become like Square Enix.
Agreed.
They'll find a way to pozz it the fuck out even though it's fantasy.
Probably 95% redguards with same sex marriages.
if only I get to role play as lisan al gaib fighting against the Thalmor then I won't complain
It’s going to happen… people loved settlement building in Fallout 4. Imagine that in a medieval fantasy setting. I’m already seeing myself place prefabs right now
What if we got cool quests instead?
No. Only thing you get are radiant quests by Emil. Sorry
people loved settlement building
who are these 'people'? Bethesda's made up pseudopods?
It's been 13 years and 6 months since they dropped Shitrim, surely they've learned since the-
looks at the games they've released since
Yeah, it's over.
F76 fans
You're not even mentioning the actual sin they will commit. You will need to update your whole pc for this shit
play skyrim
theres a speechcraft skill
play for like 20 hours before i find an NPC who has speech check options
my speech is like 5, try the speech persuasion check anyways
i pass, its actually impossible to fail, kek.
speech craft is just a glorified vendor efficiency stat
fallout 4 literally had a better speech system even though people said it was terrible it was still miles head of skyrim.
Skyrim had good exploration but was rock bottom in a lot of ways too. Theres no where to go but up for pretty much every other feature than exploration and atmosphere/music.
tacticool zoomers and spics mostly
They’re called casuals. They make up most of the market
Skyrim was terrible. I haven't touched it since 2011. No shit VI is going to be even worse
There is literally nothing wrong with settlement building other than the fact it replaced having regular towns and NPC interactions, which was already addressed in f076 because it had so much backlash for not having NPCs or quests on release.
Theres also some really cool things they could do with the settlement building system in skyrim beyond just player houses or making settlements.
Is this pos still in pre production?
They need fire that retarded writer and outsource less
when is skyrim 6 releasing?
happened with morroshit and lolblivion so why wouldn't it happen with the next game
They should just hire modders. They'd be a part of Bethesda so it'll be official and great.
todd will cook on this one
everyone who doubts will look back on their doubts with shame. The game will prove to be an instant hit and a cultural phenomenon
They should just hire modders
They did
Its how you got starfield
It doesn't matter how good it is contrarian Anon Babbleedditors will hate it and suddenly skyrim will become a classic masterpiece
I'm just tired of the world feeling so small. All of Todd's games suffer the same fucking issue. I get it, making a 1:1 scale video game is impossible, the elder scrolls has to be scaled down, but there has to be a better way to do it. Look at TW3, it's not like it's that massive of a game, it just FEELS massive even if it's not the largest ever. It feels like I'm in an actually large world. The cities feel large, not just a couple of shacks and 30 NPCs milling about doing the same thing daily.
It can be so much bigger and better. Even ESO fails to capture any sense of actual scale. It just completely kills your immersion when you get to a city / town and it's just a few buildings and NPCs.
Todd always wins
Starfield is the result of old hack and new jeets
Starfield was literal dogshit
Ummm sweeties, Oblivion was... More problematic than I remember.
Let's hope Bethesda does better in VI
Even kcd feel grand despite having really small towns as well
you must farm materials and rebuild the settlements
i'll gladly take this over emil's garbage writing and retarded factions.
Wasn't funny when Oblivitards did it. Not gonna be funny now.
Starfield is the result of old hack and new jeets
yeah bro totally
your retarded suggestions had nothing to do with it, I am sure if they followed your ideas "the correct way" they could make a masterpiece.
chat is this real
Todd did that shit. Modders wouldn't make a procgen slopfest and space combat where the enemies have 100% accuracy.
playing the oblivion remake is crazy, skyrim is so ass compared to that, and oblivion is ass compared to morrowind. it just keeps getting worse over time. I expect es6 to just be starfield on tamriel at this point
Didn't really happen with Morrowind. Like 2 Daggershiteaters bitching in forum posts doesn't count.
It really just needs to be one big castle town or estate that you get to build, just not this "build up the wasteland" thing they had in 4.
I am not a design definitely not a good one and starfield proves people at Bethesda aren't good designers either because they made a pos with all the money and time in the world
settlement building was the only good thing about F4
THEY WEREN'T TRUE MODDERS
lol
Designer*
I wouldn't mind this.
If you get to pick a place to build your fortress where you store all the loot you grab from dungeons. Maybe you can hire NPCs to scout out new dungeons for you to explore or repair your equipment while you're away.
Whatever you say morrotroon
what is this from?
There is literally nothing wrong with settlement building
i agree. what ruined it was the terrible npc pathfinding and behavior. you got an entire dlc and dedicated separate map space to build your own vault in f4 and the people who came to your vault still couldn't fathom a staircase, stood around the same garden plots staring into nothingness, would just stop moving, and if you tried building anything remotely large they all would never go beyond the first one or two sections you built.
I liked to build the settlements. It's like putting together a model of a small little town. I like building towns
Kirkbride gone
Kuhlmann gone
Soule gone
Emil hasn’t been dragged out of the Bethesda offices and publicly executed
Unironically what hope is there?
I do cause it's infinite replay value, not highest quality but it's good
No that I woulldnt
I accept your concession.
The limbourg brother's calendar
Same but only if they feel like they matter. Imagine building nice settlements where all the guards are armed very well. Just for them to appear in the final mission with pipe weapons and that bummy Minutemen stitched outfit. Oh wait, I don’t need to imagine that. It happens. It’s just timewasting fluff that doesn’t add much to the game
my biggest gripe with settlement building was that if your defences were high enogh you would never get raided (which makes sense given you could have so many settlements, but I put so much thought into the settlement and defending it for its defences to never see use. they should have had a quest in the main quest where your main settlement gets attacked or something.
they should have had a quest in the main quest where your main settlement gets attacked or something
It’s called the Minutemen quest line. The BoS and the Institute attack the castle. I don’t think you played nor beat Fallout 4, shitskin bro
Go to Nukaworld. Then you can become a raider and raid all the settlements you've built.
man I love illuminated manuscripts
he thinks Bethesda will ever do the opposite of dumbing down with each new game
You are exactly the kind of person Bethesda targets when they design their games
minutemen faction is not the main quest.
fallout 4 had more depth than skyrim so you are wrong
people loved settlement building in Fallout 4
you know, that absolutely, entirely useless and pointless mechanic in Fallout 4
You are further proof that Bethesda makes games exclusively for the low-skilled, low-IQ player fresh from Splatoon and Mario Odyssey.
this puddle has more depth than that puddle
Bethesda games are wide as an ocean and shallow as a puddle. Combat is not any more complex than Minecraft combat. Since Oblivion, magic is weak and ineffectual. There are no builds. There are no bosses. There are no epic weapons or armor. There is no actual role playing. Bethesda develops their games with the full intention of the gameplay being so simplistic that it is attainable by 7 year olds as well as 70 year olds. That is because Bethesda's goal is not to create groundbreaking gameplay but to target the largest segment of the consumer population which is the lowest-skilled and lowest-IQ player for the purpose of maximize revenue.
Since Oblivion, magic is weak and ineffectual.
wat?
the problem is they try to do massive areas lorewise like the entire provinces of Skyrim and Cyrodiil. Morrowind felt better because it was just the island of Vvardenfell as opposed to the whole province. the bigger the area they try to represent is, the more they have to abstract it. there are little fishing villages in Morrowind that are practically the size of what are supposed to be major cities in Skyrim. VI is going to be even worse because they're probably going to do two whole provinces (Hammerfell + High Rock).
post-Starfield Bethesda
no kirkbride
no soule
yep, it's gonna blow donkey balls
cities are smaller in oblivion and skyrim because NPCs all have their own schedules and move around and its too much processing power having 100 NPCs all doing radiant AI as opposed to 20. Also they need voice actors for every talking NPC which is why dialog is not even half the size of morrowinds and is just a few sentences.
that too. but you could alleviate that somewhat by having fewer but bigger cities. people think more cities = bigger scale, but it actually just ends up making the world feel smaller.
Emil is probably cooking up his next batch of dogshit quests as we speak.
by the time this finally releases I'll have waited half my life for Skyrim's sequel. The gameplay with ES has always been decent but its the world, lore, and overarching storylines involving the mythos that makes me hunger for it.
Predominately Redguard game
It's going to break Anon Babble, huh?
Bethesda peaked with Morrowind. It's been downhill since. It's been 14 years since Skyrim, and its been downhill rapidly since then. Fallout 4 was terrible. Skyrim VR was a shameless cash grab. Fallout 4 VR was yet another shameless cash grab. Fallout 76 had one of the all-time worst rollouts and is one of the worst games ever. Starfield is one of the worst games of all-time and has redefined what it means for a video game to be soulless.
Bethesda has already announced that they are going to build TESVI on the very same archaic, bug-filled and severely limited but heavily frankensteined NetImmerse game engine. Worse is that they have shifted their business model to one that out-sources the development to Indian and Chinese studios. TESVI is guaranteed to suck.
crushing to focus any game resources on that, have boat building instead if you must
The engine is literally the least of their problems.
the next es wont be dumbed down more than skyrim
Well, for one, there are 6 magic schools you could water down into 2 (defense and attack).
replaced regular towns
exactly I love stumbling on civilizations in Bethesda games (mostly pre FO4) SKyrim already had too small of capitals and I expect it to be somewhere between Skyrim and Oblivion town quality
the least
Yes, I, too, enjoy loading screens everywhere for everything including ladders.
If the people making decisions at Bethesda were capable of actually taking criticism to heart I'd agree. They've been so insanely resistant to criticism that I've lost all hope. The final nail in the coffin was when Todd said that Sharted Space would have been better received if they didn't give us the buggy for free and made it exclusive to the expansion instead.
You have to be just so, so fucking far down the exact wrong train of thought to come to that conclusion in the first place, let alone say it out loud.
Anon their entire studio is full of dogshit designers and horrible writers. Doesn't matter if they use the best engine in the world, they will still produce a dogshit game.
its the world, lore, and overarching storylines involving the mythos that makes me hunger for it.
I hope you’re ready to see it get even more raped than it already has now that everyone involved in said world, lore, and mythos is no longer working at Bethesda
yeah so imagine how bad the rest of bethesda is.
It's incredible how every time Bethesda Game Studios puts out a release, it's like they're making it for the first time and everything was a palpable struggle for a completely inexperienced team.
The writing and worldbuilding of Starfield is just bizarre in how incompetent it was. Like the main quest solved by kindergarten-tier *numerology*, a Wild West planet that is actually one of the most formidable powers in the known universe but doesn't have a paved road down its central "city" despite it being as muddy and dangerous as diarrhea. It's baffling. Like, I still can't understand what *didn't* go through their heads and individual quests are even more fucking regarded.
I can't expect them to be different. They've been doing this for over three decades and have only declined in their sensibilities. Morrowind portrayed all these different responses to colonialism from accommodation to traditional revival to vengeance. None of that intelligence is present in their games anymore.
But hey, we'll get to dump several dozens sandwiches on a completely dogshit feeling seaship.
well everyone on the tes community hates every other game thats it's not their favorite so it seems on point.
Emil Pagliarulo should have resigned in disgrace long ago.
loading screens everywhere for everything including ladders.
Let's play TES6.
We start inside a horse-drawn carriage. Looks like there's a little village outside the window. Let's exit the carriage. Open the door and walk through the doorway? Nope. Press E to open.
loading
Cell loading again? Really, Bethesda? We are here at the little village of five small buildings, but it's surrounded by a 20 foot wall. The gate says "New Bruma City". This little collection of tiny buildings is a city? Whatever, Bethesda. How do I get in there? Walk through the gate? Nope. Press E to open.
loading
You're using cell loading, again? In 2031? Lame, Bethesda. Really lame. Here we are inside the city walls. A little building is right in front of us. The door says "Jamal's House". Press E to open.
loading
More cell loading? What is this, 2004? So cheesy, Bethesda. Get a modern engine already. Walking around inside the house. A trap door in the floor. Climb down the ladder, right? Nope. Press E to open.
loading
More cell loading? Fuck this, Bethesda. We are in the basement now. There is a cave entrance in the wall. Walk up to it to load the cave.
loading
More cells? Such bullshit. See spiders. Turn 360 and leave.
loading
Climb the ladder, right? Nope. Press E to use.
loading
Walking down the hallway now. Open the door? Nope. Press E to open.
loading
Walk through the gate? Nope. Press E to open.
loading
Fuck this shit, Bethesda, and your boring juvenile and shallow combat, and your shitty last-last-last-last-last-last-gen 30-year-old frankensteined NetImmerse engine and its ancient and gimpy cell loading.

players will hate it
I don't think anyone really cares about what Bethesda is up to. They have been such a shitty studio for such a long time that their fanbase has dried up.
Are you implying that being handed an abandoned Castle and getting free reign to rebuild it wouldn't be fucking awesome?
i think bethesda will take fan feedback
They won't. There will still be leveled items with no way to upgrade them, leveled enemies will still exist. The game will be massive (not a good thing) and be even more barebones than Skyrim. The only good thing they might do is use the Oblivion Remastered's leveling rework.
It's strange to think that the original
Skyrim peaked at 90k
Skyrim LE peaked at 70k
And then Oblivion remastered peaked at 150k
Join a guild/group
Get shown the ropes by the leader
100 fetch/kill quests
Get betrayed by the leader
You're now the leader
Another epic questline written by Emil
gaming playerbase grows every year
Peaking at 90k back in 2013 is like having a million peak today
It would be very painful.
Settlement building wouldn’t be so bad if it were tied to quests, like finding X amount of tradesmen to do the job, paying for resources and killing monsters and bandits who’ve holed up in the ruins.
Chrono Trigger is the only game I’ve seen that actually did this; specifically the part where you have to contract the foremen to rebuild the castle where Cyrus’ tomb is, so you can get the Masamune upgrade.
they take some fan feedback but hold on to at least some of their terrible core game design philosophies.
what? did he actually say that? I cant believe it, thats so strange.
its just going to be a bunch of ugly womens ideas made by indians
The game will be a guaranteed flop if they really did put the setting in nigguard continent.
That's every elder scrolls game.
newcomers to the series love it
veterans think it's the worst one yet
Settlement building wouldn't be so bad if it Bethesda didn't make such subpar shitty UI + controls for building. Bethesda gets mogged by any of your average weekly Indie survival/crafter sandbox games despite having 20000 more devs than that indie game...what the hell do they do? Even those lazy fucks at Mojang mog you and they only work 1 month out of every 12!
It will never come out
Between 2007 and 2011 i played around 150 hours of Oblivion and haven't touched it since. Then i picked up the remaster and it showed me that Oblivion, compared to Skyrim, is legit dogshit. Granted that may be because i don't ever play magic casters(just don't like them) so the whole spell crafting part of Oblivion never mattered to me. So when Skyrim removed that and instead improved melee part with smithing and upgrading gear and finishers/kill cams that just lifts it so much higher than Oblivion could ever reach.
Oblivion and Skyrim are both dogshit dude, play better games. Also killcams are gay as fuck and animated poorly.
i think bethesda will take fan feedback
ha. haha. haHAHA. HAHAHAHAHAHA
