game has a "japanese" sewer level

massive pillars hidden under you

huh, is that where they got this?

Didn't know Mirror's Edge was a japanese game

It's a storm drain, not a sewer.

how come in sewer levels you never have to wade through shit?

What do you think makes poison swamps poisonous, anon

Why do you think the water is so dirty

The only thing that comes to mind is Taimanin Yukikaze

pillars are destructible

ceiling never collapses

They closed it from public filming years ago

I wonder what it's actually like down there during a storm.

I can name a few swamps that slow you down if you walk on the wet areas but not any sewers. Only dying if you fall into the wet in some platformers.

I've been there, it's a cool place and the massive scale can't really be felt from a photo

I doubht that was an intentional reference, but that's a neat observation anon

I honestly get somewhat emotional watching the reveal of Dwarrowdelf in fellowship of the ring. The crescendo of the music, the scenery, the awe int he character's faces. A more reverent depiction of fantasy setting, there isn't.

It's flooded. Not sure what else you expect.

The Japanese are really good at underground construction.

Pic related is the largest Neutrino detector in the world, it detects particles smaller than an atom, travelling close to the speed of light, in a large underground chamber filled with millions of litres of pure water lined by thousands of sophisticated detectors, all located under a mountain. Because Neutrino particles rarely interact with other matter, detecting them is difficult, Quadrillions pass through your body every second without interacting with the atoms of your body.

Technicians literally have to row around the chamber on boats to maintain the sensors.

I assume the water would be moving very rapidly, hitting the walls and columns of the tunnels.

This was built for the mega earthquake they're expecting in the next 50 years.

i'm glad science can still be SOULful sometimes instead of seemingly being bent on removing all fun and whimsy of the world

nta but, personally, I'm fascinated by watching videos of the 2011 tsunami in Japan. Something about watching an incomprehensible amount of water consume something is morbidly terrifying in such a way that it's mesmerizing.

A drawing of the Kamiokande detector along with the access tunnel wide enough to pass a truck through.

imaging falling into the water

complete and utter terror, thalassophobia is a fucking bitch

I always thought that place looked like a massive waste of effort (or poor art direction)

This is why FotR is the best of the trilogy by far - there is constant diminishing returns on the wonder and mythical enchantment with each instalment

That level in Super Mario 64 is NOT that u internet addicted freak,

Japan is already constructing a successor to the 29 year old Super-Kamiokande, the Hyper Kamiokande, which is 5 times larger with 20,000 sensors and will be completed in 2027.

You would either be fine because the maintenance guys are there or float to the top because its meant to be filled

The early 2000s was really something.

I know I would be fine, it's the sense of scale that terrifies me. I know the ocean is significantly larger, but I also don't go swimming in the ocean near point nemo, it's usually maybe ~10-20 feet away from the shore, maximum.

Dark Forces would like to have a word with you.
Wet.
And slippery.

tfw my dad worked for the dving research at bethesda and taught me to swim in their deep dive pool as a child by throwing me in and telling me to swim or die

He also threw one of my town down to the bottom where I had to get it

Every time I think of Nausicaa I think of the best hentai doujin series of all time.

i never imagined todd could be so cruel
i get it for oceans, wouldn't bother me there

i never imagined todd could be so cruel

Yeah it was rough in that kiddie pool

I just started replaying Mirror's Edge today, can't wait for this level

giant empty room of water where you can see all the way to the bottom

More scary than falling into an aquarium full of sharks

At least you can see the bottom. Not being able to see it would be much worse.

iz only smells

It's mostly because they used 90% of the budget for the trilogy in the first movie because they weren't sure the others would even get made

Memory is foggy now but I'm pretty sure you could go to this place at some point during GhostWire Tokyo.

Is this where that shit snoozefest 3 body problem was filmed?

is this a porn game?

I should give this a replay on my new setup actually, the atmosphere was fucking kino

No, it's an open world collect-a-ton that was a mixture of comfy japanese neighbourhood and spooky ghosts. Some of the enesmi are sexy lady ghosts, some even with school uniforms, but the game isn't sexy.

This one flew under most people's radars, it's actually very good.

so it's a porn game for me
I want to fuck a Japanese ghost monster lady

Yes.
pornographically bad

I didn't look but maybe there are mods that make it more sexy. But still, even if they were naked it still would be a comfy+spooky game.

Godspeed my ghostfucking friend.

kings order stuff that looks really cool but isn't very useful

What's new?

wait which one?

Bug one or Raitas?
