A lot of people here were exposed to Ranma entirely through youtube and twitter, and so they don't know that roughly 75% of the original anime was some of the worst filler ever made and it fell off from the heights of UY and Maison Ikkoku's adaptations about 18 episodes in when it got briefly taken off the air and came back as a far more episodic series.

The new anime is just kind of bland is its issue. It is as 1:1 as an adaptation can get the majority of the time, which is fine for most retards here, but it's ultimately just not that great an anime.
Then again, Ranma itself was one of Takahashi's weaker works, so that was probably an inevitability.
