Morrowind

Have you brought a skoomerpipe with you, or flin? I’d show you a roof where we could look on this poor country of ash-woven outcasts and share sigils. Share spears.

What did Vivec mean specifically when he offered this to Nerevar?

wmbtm.jpg - 1953x2242, 541.85K

Answer the question please.

gay sex in exchange for drugs and/or alcohol

But what kind of gay sex?

Today I realized Vivec is basically Morrissey.

Vivic is, in addition to all his other terrible qualities, a fag.

frotting, anal, oral, vaginal, anything really
Vivec does special sex just for you, same low price

Come Nerevar, friend or traitor, come. Come and look upon the Heart and Akulakahn, and bring Wraithguard, I have need of it. Come to the Heart chamber, I wait for you there, where we last met, countless ages ago. Come to me through fire and war, I welcome you! Welcome Moon-and-Star, I have prepared a place for you! Come, bring Wraithguard to the Heart chamber, together, let us free the cursed false gods! Welcome Nerevar, together we shall speak for the law and the land and drive the mongrel dogs of the Empire from Morrowind! Is this how you honor the 6th house and the tribe unmourned? Come to me openly, and not by stealth. Dagoth Ur welcomes you Nerevar, my old friend... but to this place where destiny is made, why have you come unprepared? Welcome, Moon-and-Star, to this place where YOUR destiny is made. What a fool you are, I'm a god! How can you kill a god? What a grand and intoxicating innocence! How could you be so naive? There is no escape, no recall or intervention can work in this place! Come! Lay down your weapons! It is not too late for my mercy...

I'm still in awe of how well his voice is able to be replicated. It still has that strange AI cadence, but it's much less muted than any other I've heard. Shame it got ran into the dirt inside of a week though.

what's with these plebbitors and their kirkbride hate?

They're obsessed with the concept of canon ad can't handle anything that goes against it, it triggers their autism

Not OP, but I don't hate him I just don't think his forum stuff is the same quality as the stuff in the game. The trial is, for example, very bad.

Out of the Mer races (not including Orcs), who would be the most jacked Elves?

I always picture elves as little twinks besides Dunmer who have a pretty strong Martial part of their society (they pretty much have everything, strong mages, strong assassins, strong warriors).

Bosmer = Bowtwinks

Altmer = Magetwinks

Breton = Muttwinks

dunmer are the all-rounder elves so they can be jacked

is that thing supposed to be a man or a woman

yes

If we allow Wild Hunts, Wood Elves.
If we allow non-playable Mer, Sea Elves by virtue of sailing being very physically demanding (plus ESO's absolutely yoked Leviathans which I think are a fun lore addition).
If neither of the above, Dark Elves.

Immediately sensed the same thing.

I made the mistake of not leveling my willpower because I was doing a hybrid build, and wanted more magicka, and leveling my magic skills is very painful because I can't use trainers, is there a way to bandaid it or should I start over?

I'd rather spend 5 minutes cleaning or doing the dishes than manually level Alteration. It's actually great. You go do something productive, come back, boom, Alteration +2 or +whatever. Fuckin based.

stinky.png - 348x760, 247.21K

If we allow Wild Hunts, Wood Elves.

Huh

wood elves did the monster mash

One of the A Dance in Fire ingame books describes it. Wood elves do some sort of religious ritual that turns them into monsters.

Monsters so strong that they rampaged all the way from Valenwood to Winterhold in Skyrim to kill the High King

No, the High King was leading an alessian invasion of Valenwood when he got killed by the Wild Hunt

I was sure the actual attack on Valenwood hadn't happened yet so I double checked the Pocket Guide and they actually got him in Cyrodiil when he visited to suggest invading them
I swear there was something somewhere about the monsters making it to Skyrim, too, though

I should be able to forgive Almasexia and give her a good dicking

you're the kind of guy who needs to masturbate 5 times before leaving the house just to ensure you don't get a boner in public aren't you

Almasexia wearing her war mask. I think you'd be the one getting dicked with a daedric strap-on.

Wood elves do some sort of religious ritual that turns them into monsters.

Close. It turns them BACK into monsters. Wood elves are monsters made civilized creatures by the Green Pact. The ritual breaks the pact.

Anyone played UESRPG? Any good?

Anon, you know full well that this board is nothing but trolling and rage baiting now. Why are you trying to prevent genuine discussion?

Same

I'd update my Stormrider, but I would have to pull EVERYTHING out of the cabin and holds, and that's just not happening.

Well between these shots and that new bard mod I reckon I'm about to do an OpenMW vanity install. Especially in that bottom one, you could fit a whole band in there, imagine the jam sessions.

Not even the complete back; those shelves hide sleeping quarters. That's the biggest part so it's easiest to work with, the main captain's quarter is good too. The cargo hold is a bit tight so it's been a little awkward and then there's a weird little transition room I've been trying to make a study. Still working on the whole thing though.

No clue, I think Ashfall adds it. What's the go to for installing OpenMW and associated mods? I've always just installed manually and used Wrye Mash, but I have a back-up of the base game specifically for this situation.

Wait what the fuck, which mod allows you to put furniture around

When you finally can play an instrument and get paid

You don't need that many mods. I'm only running about 15 - 20 and even that's a lot for what you really need. What do you even need more for?

but i like mods

themods.jpg - 461x1667, 99.06K

you like shopping for mods, yeah. You won't even enjoy actually playing the game with that many mods, so you might as well just spend another couple days growing your mod list before you give up and move on to something else.

okay dipshit, what is your modlist?

OpenMW vanilla.

ask yourself genuinely, why do you care so much?

I thought they were originally Aldmer? Did Yfrre or whoever just turn a group of Aldmer into monsters?

I feel like you are probably an indian too

somehow even worse, a paki

They were not originally Aldmer, they were just made to look sort of like them. They were originally some sort of shapeless ooze or merely primordial beasts of the forest, it's not exactly clear.

yeah sorry I don't understand the difference or care to learn, please just stop posting. Your broken english is irritating.

I looked at it but it seems like a pain to install manually

The 1st Edition Pocket Guide says that Bosmer believe that every kind of monster that exists was once once of them that turned during a Hunt and Varieties of Faith says that the Hunt is them returning to the original state of the world where mortal life was endlessly shifting before Y'ffre brought order to the chaos

Why does this picture make my pp throb?

because you are a transsexual

No clue anon

Why was Amalexia such a disloyal slut? She killed her own husband.

If they were originally "monsters" wouldn't they actually be beastkin instead of mer

Literally all three of the tribunal are pathological liars and narcissist, you'd kinda have to be to murder your friend and turn yourselves into living gods.

Just like we don't care that seals are more closely related to bears than dolphins, the people of Tamriel don't care. They look and mostly act like mer, so they get treated like mer. Likewise orcs were treated like monsters for most of history despite it being widely believed (although completely uncertain) that they are cursed mer.

the elder scrolls universe runs off of beloef mattering. if enough people (or sometimes one person) believe something to be true hard enough, for long enough, it becomes true. which why the nerevarine actually being nerevar's reincarnation or not doesn't matter, they've fulfilled enough of the prophecy that enough people believe them to be the nerevarine, that they become the nerevarine.

And seems like a really big change compared to before

Yeah, it is a bit funny how it's consistently "groundcover" and not grass

So for escort quests, will the target actually follow you regardless of how far away you are or do you have to at least hold a reasonable distance

Neat, thanks

I think they try to follow regardless of distance but can get assraped by random shit if you stray too far or just unload. Mods matter though.
Also, if you use a fast travel service they should appear right next to you.

That's not how anything works.

Orcs are still the twinks of the "large" races

Uh no they're not lol. A berserking orc will tear apart a Nord hand to hand.

As I painted the Reach-clan's banner and their altar to Hircine in his most malevolent form, the hunt began. One Breton bolted and was brought down and set on by dogs. The other ran for the ravine, fell and was hacked apart by blood-crazed wild men. Fragments of his corpse tumbled toward the river below as the feasting began. The Orc simply laughed, yelling, "Blood for Mauloch!" as he snatched up two maces and charged headlong into a cluster of Reachmen. The air was filled with shrieks of men, the cracking of bones, and the spillage of blood. I saw four mongrels hammered into the earth, their heads misshapen and mangled. When a Briarheart was raised to quell the rampage, the Orc was brought to his knees and his head cut away.

But then, all Orcs are ugly. The most repulsive race in all of Tamriel, really. At least you've got that brutish strength, huh? Must be nice to just rip someone apart like some kind of monster.

Orcs are the best race and I'm tired of pretending otherwise.

orcpepe.png - 450x483, 209.49K

ESO "lore"

not canon lol
orcs had a lower strength stat than nords and redguards in morrowind and oblivion

Berserk racial is canon. They get mad and they get much stronger than Nords. They are also naturally tougher with a higher endurance stat and the corpse preparation necromancy book states that Orc corpses are highly valued because of how much denser their bones are than the other races. Cope Nordboi.

What, berserk is a thing in all of them.

How's performance?

licking Almalexia's cum filled pussy clean

basically the same as no shaders, give or take a couple frames maybe

Post your Dagoth Ur layout, don't even bother if it's below 20 cells

This is my favorite. Had some issues where it wouldn't save settings at first, but the color palette is a great fit for vanilla and TR. I love how red the mesas of Narsis get at sunset.

What mod?

It's the opposite.

they actually be beastkin instead of mer

That's a subject of debate in the universe of TES. Khajit for example consider themselves to be Merkin and consider the bosmers their cousins, Bosmer in the other hand hate that comparison and will murder Khajits if necessary.

Skyrim lore retcon garbage, Nords have always been THE strength race

B-BUT IF YOU IGNORE BERSERK EXISTS...!

kekaroo

I don't like Ratopombo, but the drawing he made with Nerd Vehk, Ayem and Seht has to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

how do you rebind keys in vanilla when playing with mgxe?
it keeps resetting them

elomu.jpg - 450x500, 15.53K

That's not too much but most of the mods in this list don't even make much sense. You probably have files in wrong places and your overwrite directory might contain random ini files, they should be transferred into an empty mod in MO2.

Nords have always been the hordes of dumb savages. Their strength is in numbers.
Orcs are the elite warriors and master craftsmen distinguishing themselves even in small groups.

I don't think I've seen that one

in morrowind nords and male redguards have higher strength than orcs

i already fixed it by dropping some mods

Orc warriors in heavy armor are among the finest front-line troops in the Empire, and are fearsome when using their berserker rage.

Straight from morrowind dialogue Olaf!

The Dunmer. Their life and philosophy are all about surpassing Lorkhan's challenge. They are The Hyborian of TES.
It is just as well that you do not know of Crom. He would likely only send you doom should he notice you… He sits on his mountain and watches us all. When we are born, his breath gives us the strength to kill our enemies. Then he sits in silent judgement. And the day his strength leaves us is the day we die. Crom cares not whether we live or die.

PSJIC.jpg - 800x1001, 139.54K

I don't see anything that doesn't make sense
There's a lot of bugfixes or minor fixes, optimization stuff, a lot of new dialogue/new voice stuff, and some city stuff

Exactly: it's gay.

Picture this. Super buff, Nerevar, Dumah and Dagoth Ur in the gym, with ALMSIVI being total nerds.
But the image could be more accurate lorewise if instead of Dagoth it was Alandro Sul.

retard

Yes they're skilled smiths and "naturals" with heavy armour but they're smaller and weaker than Nords
Mer twink cope

't was merely a jest, anon!

5 points of difference isn't that much, and Berserk makes them a lot better as warriors.
Also, Orcs are heavier for real strongfat power.

Nords have always been the hordes of dumb savages.

They invented human writting and they were the first humans to conquer magic. They hell are you talking about?

Nord berserkers are also canon, Skyrimbabby

Orcs are actually taller than Nords in Skyrim.

But they don't get a racial power that makes them explicitly superhumanly strong during it. Berserk is even referred to in game at several points.

snowmen getting uppity again

1E369

I went through the inquisition quest in Gah Sadrith, it was cool and all, the daedric shrine's design was nice, but what's the point in having allies? It doesn't matter if I reloaded a save, they immediately fall from the ledges into the water and seemingly clip into Oblivion.
Reset actors, positioncell, it doesn't matter, they are probably dead as soon as they clip and there's nothing I can do to save them.
I'm just glad I could finish the quest by talking to the Nord, but I wish I could reach the corpse of the guy in Ebony armor.
tl;dr when designing dungeons, don't make any ledges or water if there are allies participating.

people acting like Berserk is a good power

First off, it's useless in organized fighting since they're just a danger. Second, it relies on one-shotting your opponent. If you get hit even once you just get assraped as you try to lick the dirt off your opponent's boots.

Orcs have higher endurance

Orc goes berserk to hit much harder and take much more damage

I just don't see how Nord bros win this.

Orcs have superior armor and endurance to compensate for the lack of defense through Berserk, though?

Nords are heavier and stronger in the lore (and in game) though yes Orcs do have a literal highest weight parameter despite only having the height parameter of an Imperial (a 6'3 120kg man is still going to be stronger than a 5'10 90kg man despite the latter being more disproportionately "bulky")

Orcs should roughly be close enough to or sometimes stronger than Nords in some cases though, it's not like they're not intended to be brick shithouses (but they're still mer at the end of the day). Skyrim just fucked up the "lore" with them being "consistently" the strongest (I think they even made them as tall as the Nords in the in-game weight parameter) because they forgot their own lore and just made them warcraft style orcs.

Nords have spears as a racial, orcs don't. The Nord hits the orc once, and the orc is now on his knees deepthroating Nord cock for the rest of the fight.
You guys don't seem to understand that Berserk makes one hit a literal death sentence, you just get permastunlocked.

In Skyrim it's broken as fuck though, you take half damage and deal double damage with no downsides

Orcs are faster, aren't they

Finally back after my cruise around the Telvanni Isles, the southern Padomaic Ocean and back. I left relatively low leveled and with no money, but I returned ultra rich, high leveled and with a ship full of loot and powerful artifacts. I should probably consider heading south to Narsis now, I intended this before I discovered the ship mod thanks to this place.

despite only having the height parameter of an Imperial

They're an air shorter than Nords, 1.06 vs 1.05. This is you making up bullshit because you have no argument.

it's not like they're not intended to be brick shithouses (but they're still mer at the end of the day).

They're described as beast folk in the game guide. The "orcs are elves" is a complete bullshit argument pulled by Mephala worshipers at this point in the lore.

And while the goblin and the man are fighting with their sticks, the taller and sexier High Elf simply laughs in smug Alderis and obliterates the inferior unintelligent animals with magic

Nords have spears as a racial

They still use dumb axes with no shields regardless

can't see shit cap'n

It's night in that image, anon.

I think I can spot a bit of wood there, needs even lower gamma.

In that image too, see the difference?

Orcs had the Mer torso in Morrowind, they were already undeniably elves by then from a meta standpoint, them being considered beastfolk is just an in-universe lore flavor thing.

I think you're trying to be clever, anon. It's not really working for you.

he thought you had nude mods installed

I also don't get your point. There've been a bunch of dark screenshots in this thread, why single that one out?

If I were a wealthy and jew-like breton nobleman, I would hire 10 orcs over 10 nords as my personal legbreakers. Just saying.

That one was the last drop.

Drop these nuts in your mouth

jew-like breton

The jew allegory race is not the bretons
Bretons also have the most racial tensions with orcs bro

Yes I know, it's a retarded retcon

I know, I'm saying that's a game "thing" and I'm not debating that Orc are generally incredibly strong in lore, just pointing out that Nords "should" be stronger (again Skyrim forgot it's own "rules" and retconned that)

...Which the Breton GOD tanks with their magic resistance and then nukes the inbred goldenrod.

200 years of dirt farming does that to you.
In the next TES Nords will be at the same height as the Bosmer.

Other than tamriel rebuilt what are some good mods for a someone who beat the game a long time ago (using Openmw)? Already got some recomendations that were posted earlier

Ironically Bretons being literal midgets is a retcon though (I suppose there's actually lore precedent for Nords eventually becoming manlet, as Atmorans were said to be collosal (and possibly divergent/descendent/intermixed with giants)

You just said the same thing twice

I mean for hiring orcs are better because the nords will just get drunk and robbed by witches
Has nothing to do with their fighting capabilities

Goblins are just Altmer from the future though (same way giants are Atmorans from the past)

Adrenaline Rush a shit. Just drink some store bought potions.
The only good thing they have going for them is a very high starting bonus in a good weapon skill and, unlike the other two warrior races, not crap agility.
So they're better, but not because of the racial power.

I feel like the statline for Dunmer really makes no sense
Why do they have a malus to Willpower base instead of Personality, when their shtick is that everyone hates them and they think suffering builds character?

Answer the question dagoth boy

Fuck me, Crystal Scissure goes on for miles.

Ashlander Architect is bugged as shit man, I've been troubleshooting for a while and it worked partially once, and through esoteric circumstances I'm not able to replicate.

Dreugh hives are usually like that.

Should I use og MW or openMW? I want to install vanilla plus mods and also make the game prettier with shaders.
Also want to replace that horrid interface font.
Just finished setting up Oblivion. Actually deleted the remastered version because it's horrible.

Crystal Scissure

They always feel like the Body of the Many from System Shock 2. Only submerged.

Haha yeah, it's fun like that. Bring a light spell.

hopefully this goes well
openMW for sure, think they just added a super light vanilla + bug fixes list as well on their site

file.png - 533x416, 274.87K

just b urself :)
I personally feel OMW is easier to just plug and play

Marksman

OpenMW doesn't QUITE work the same as vanilla, and isn't compatible with some good mods. If you don't care about that then just go for it.

Yeah I guess I'll check openMW.
Haven't had any issues with og Oblivion yet but I remember few years ago I had an installation which began to stutter mysteriously, nothing really helped what I tried lmao

OpenMW is much better, but lacks compatibility for some mods. It has the functionality but the implementation is different so someone would have to remake them.
If you want one or more of those mods it doesn't have, use original. Otherwise you should be using OpenMW.

I used to play Morrowind back in college with a friend and he always went with a marksman character. It looked fun, if a pain in the ass to carry all those arrows.

Thanks I'll keep this in mind.

Try MWSE then OpenMW.
You'll feel the difference and never want to go back..

Having a "brutish" appearance hits just that little bit harder for females (though I can't lie Skyrim female orcs could still get it - they're actually less freaky alien weirdos than the rest of the elves)

MWSE, unless you're a zoomer who can't just drop files into a folder. OpenMW lacks a bunch of features and the kids on these threads hype it up because it's idiot proof.

I'm currently doing a throwing-weapons-only playthrough and it's very painful. If I don't slam back sujamma every fight it feels like it takes 20-30 glass shuriken to get through someone with even medium armor, and glass shuriken are NOT cheap. Thank goodness I have the AoE Arrows plugin installed to buy a restocking supply of the things; otherwise I'd be stuck with silver shuriken.

idk i did try a bosmer stealth archer a couple days ago and it seemed very decent but i have mods that adds better charged bow attacks and sneak damage

average Hlaalu

vaginal

gay

I really enjoyed all his dialogue. He's very good at backhanded compliments.

After completing the final Hlaalu quest, finding the True Face of Veloth, I didn't even want to play the character anymore. I just wanted to sail East forever. I would have retired and joined Athires if I could.

Dunmer women owe me sex

vaginal sex with a man

That's like double gay

The Hlaalu Grandmaster quest is more elaborate than the main quest now.
How can redoran piety fags cope with the n'wah sympathizer house having divine revelations handed to them?

does marksman even get a sneak multiplier?

Despite Redoran and Indoril pretensions - and Telvanni pretensions, for that matter - I suspect that basically every Dunmer is a religious fanatic in his own way. How it expresses itself varies by House and subculture. Telvanni society can't be rationally explained as a way that people would organize their governance except as an outgrowth of Boethiah's teachings, regardless of what the Magelords say.

I really enjoyed all his dialogue

Thank you for the kind words; I'm happy I was able to get it into the release at the last minute. I find that TR is a bit low on engaging characters on the whole, so hopefully old Athires sets something of a precedent.

mine does

file.png - 1920x1080, 2.63M

To be fair baseMorrowind was also kinda like this.
People only renember Dagoth Ur, Vivec, Caius Cosades and Uncle Crassus.

Speaking of Crystal Scissure, I can't tell if some mod I'm using fucked it up, or if the exterior just looks weird. There's a bare grey mound with a divot in the middle, and all the coral and spire is piled off to one side.

I'm curious what mods are keeping people on MWSE? I'm starting to figure out a modlist and most everything I want has an OpenMW equivalent, but I don't want to commit if there's some really good shit in MWSE.

There's some nice shit like the floating icons for detect spells but nothing that's a must have IMO

We seriously need more telvanni content, even if it's not in telvanni lands specifically. Like some wizards looking for stuff in different lands etc

I need a mod that makes NPCs use voice lines less.

Or never.

images (82).jpg - 225x225, 4.86K

You did a good job with old Athires. He was funny and charming in a way that avoided a lot of modern sarcastic, quippy writing. He felt like a proper elder statesman.

Why are you out of uniform?

Ashfall, the bathing mod and the fishing mod but I seriously dude we have people here even using these beyond 2 anons

There's that Telvanni wizard just north of Aimrah trying to open a portal to a pocket dimension. One of the things I enjoy about vanilla Morrowind is how basically every rando wizard holed up in a Velothi tower is a formal member of House Telvanni - there are quite a number of quests where different factions send you to kill them but if you're a member of the House yourself they're nonhostile, so there's a bit of awkward standing around as you get ready to murder them.

I gotta make a sneak attack ninja thst uses throwing stars

It's a nice contrast. Most of the houses group up for protection and social reasons, but the Telvanni just free-range their new wizards and let them do as they will. It's a brutal system but the ones that rise to the top are terrifying.

how the fuck do you play on the hardest difficulty right out the gate without cheesing the hell out of the game

You don't? Nobody ever said this shit was balanced for an actual hardcore RPG experience like say dark souls is

Because cheesing is cringe, if I find an enemy too strong I just run and to return later

You avoid combat and use trainers.
It's easy to get rich without fighting a single enemy.

You occasionally get some powerful wizards who flee traditional Telvanni lands to avoid a political confrontation, as is the case with Baladas and Fast Eddie. I imagine that when a Telvanni wizard seriously pisses off another, just going across half the continent to hide out for a couple of decades is a pretty reasonable strategy.

You dont, the slider is for cranking up later as you attain self-made Godhood.

I'm curious what mods are keeping people on MWSE?

I just prefer it. I don't know why some anons feel the need to astroturf OpenMW so hard. I use MWSE because I'd rather Morrowind behaves like Morrowind, I have more options for mods, and I have no reason to stop using MWSE because it's working for me.

It just occurred to me that it’s probably pronounced salt-rice and not sawl-triss

What is even the state of Morrowind in the 4th Era? Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC makes it sound like it's recovering, but the Greg Keys novels make it sound like it's a literal apocaliptic wasteland and everyone either died, fucked off, or became ashlanders.

Why doesn't everyone play this game exactly like me?

I misread Morrowind words constantly as well because my brain just didn't register them as portmanteaus. It took me an embarrassingly long time to read "ashkhan" as "ash-khan."

It's shitty and covered in a thick layer of ash.
So.
Not that different from the 3rd Era.

The Grey Keyes novels are set about 150 years before the events of Skyrim. I imagine that Morrowind is pretty livable by the time of Skyrim, given that it's been like 180 years since Red Mountain erupted and over a hundred years since the Umbriel disaster, the Argonian invasion, etc. It makes no sense to call the Dunmer of the Grey Quarter refugees given that it's been a literal century since they had anything to flee from. I suspect that originally Skyrim was "supposed" to take place maybe 20-30 years after all the disasters that hit Morrowind, rather than 200, but the refugee thing stuck around in the final version even though the timeline didn't really make sense for that anymore.

vvardenfell is fucked, the southern parts of the mainland got dicked by the lizards and are probably still very shitty
the rest should be a bit dusty but fine mostly

I suspect that originally Skyrim was "supposed" to take place maybe 20-30 years after all the disasters that hit Morrowind, rather than 200

It's the same shit for Fallout 3. No, it was never meant to be less than 200 years. Emil is just bad at understanding the passage of time.

That must be it then. Ever since Cyrodiil dropped I've been doing a lot of underwater exploration and WoM has otherwise been a nice expansion of that.

ok new char
going altmer so i put their favored skills in major, but maybe I should swap some around

I always train throwing just for tribunal because you get piles of overpowered throwing items

Go into a random shipwreck in the middle of nowhere

A voice calls to me

It's a soulgem that wants revenge for being soultrapped

Interesting.

Joy of Painting, Window to Aetherius, Ultimate Fishing, Ashfall, Chargen Scenarios
I have an OpenMW install as well however

Hey so if the ALMSIVI are ruling the country why's there a separate king

Imperial puppet modeled after western intitutions

Do you expect any of those three to handle actual political business?
One is jacking and jilling at the same time into a mirror in his goon temple, one is hacking the universe's mainframe, and the other is more likely to stab a diplomat than negotiate.

Helseth is a Imperial puppet figurehead with little to no actual power

Yeah but why is he from High Rock if they wanted an imperial puppet
Vivec used to be big on flaunting his authority and not only does Almalexia actively try to govern, she also throws a hissyfit the second she thinks she might not rule anymore
Sotha though, I get

And he still makes for a more effective governor than the Tribunal. Between Almalexia and Helseth, I was firmly in the camp of the latter, because without the heart to prop them up, the tribunal were completely impotent, for all their supposed divine power, their stint as deities taught them fuck all about the importance of their position, only feeding their egos instead, while Helseth was a mere mortal that had done much more to help Vvardenfell during his rather brief stint as a ruler.

mwse exclusive btw

turnbasedmw.webm - 1152x922, 3.88M

Vivec flaunted his authority by immediately bending over for the first foreign force that paid them a visit

The title of "King of Morrowind" in all likelyhood originated as an imperial misunderstanding of the role of the Hortator, and its purpose is to be the target of the dissatisfaction and rage of the dunmer over the occupation.

The "King" exists so your average netchiman, slaver, noble and whore can get mad at him instead of targetting imperial infrastructure and officers, causing trade to slow down or halt all together. His power is basically zero, with most of the country being run by imperial military officers, house councillors and high ranking temple members.

Now, the interesting part is that the current king, Helseth, doesn't want to play his part as the imperial muppet: His actions during Tribunal's MQ are all about maneouvering so he gets to rule the place as a western king would, which should surprise no one given that he was raised on High Rock. In this context his attempted assassination against you is the most fucking logical thing in the world, as you essentially usurp his title and take over Vvardenfell, even getting the support of Vivec during the process.

It's amazing how much of a powder keg MW was at the end of the MQ.

no wonder the Nerverine fucks off to Akavir following the games events

Yeah but why is he from High Rock if they wanted an imperial puppet

He was related to the previous hlaalu puppet king and he was westernized as fuck too, that's all.

I agree, though I'd largely chalk that up to dev constraints. IIRC some devs have said the process was pure crunch all throughout, but shortly before release they tried hard to sneak some characterful/loreful dialogue into the game, with characters like Neminda and Traveling-New-Woman being the result.
Athires's specific model was Duke Vedam Dren, who's a pretty good example of vanilla using the topic-based dialogue system to its advantage: building a character just by giving him unique responses to the 'universal' topics you get in chargen (Background; my trade; latest rumors; little secret; little advice; someone in particular) and some of the secondary linked topics (e.g. Morrowind; Orvas Dren). The only real difference is Athires has considerably more responses to the secondary topics, e.g. all five Great Houses, the Temple, and the three Tribunes.
(Another model for characterization would be to emulate a dialogue tree by creating multiple bespoke topics for a character and having their dialogue prompt the player with Choices that lead down branching paths. This is what Bethesda did for Vivec and Dagoth Ur. TR does this for the Tsaesci in the new release; in my view, the bespoke approach is justified for him as he's almost certainly going to be the only Tsaesci in TR.)

Thank you very much. My first instinct was to make Athires considerably more aggressive, e.g. talking smack about the declining Indoril and ascendant Hlaalu (e.g. Paulus in Skeleton Man), but some other dev left an internal comment that he was "all politics" and "would never openly talk bad" about others in front of you, and I agreed. Morrowind has sort of a parliamentary system where the Grand Council of all five houses determines national policy. In theory, even a guy like Athires needs Indoril, Dres, and Redoran support on whatever bills he's proposing.
Did you get around to talking with K'Vatra or Qorinue-Najan? Any feedback there?

elaborate this instant

YOU N'WAH

These are NOT Altmer women.
Where are their proud Aldmeri cocks?

not worshipping kirkbride

Nice try

out with your skyslop garbage

they haven't worshipped kirkbride in like a decade. half of them are normalfags who don't even know who the guy is, the other half are hardcore ESOfags who at least slightly resent the guy for being liked by the people who tend to shit on their game.

Eh, there's still a few other characters that you would remember, especially if you do the Telvanni quests
So many crazy cunts in one faction

Divayth Fyr and Yagrum Bagarn too

summon skeleton as a bonus action

If you picked the Conjuror subclass you literally did not beat the game

It turns out decorating is a very time consuming process

I suspected you might have written all three. They're all very competently-written. K'vatra in particular is a real joy because he's a very intelligent and personable lying sack of shit who does everything in his power to seem forthright, open, and reasonable with the player because he's calculated that that's the best way of getting what he wants. In a way he reminds me a bit of a less-scrupulous Master Aryon, who share's K'vatra's belief in building mutually beneficial relationships and rewarding his underlings well all while concealing enormous malice. Qorinue-Najan is fairly interesting as the first example of a full-blooded Tsaesci in TR. I enjoyed his militaristic demeanor as a loyal servant of Reman's throne, and thought it was somewhat disappointing that the only option to deal with him was death. It was still a very satisfying conversation.

I actually liked that about Helseth the most, I can appreciate an openly macchiavellian, power hungry individual that isn't stupid, since he eventually recants his ways and realizes that going after you was a mistake and it is much better to have you as an ally. Almalexia was incapable of being that flexible, it was her way or the highway. Under him Morrowind would probably have been a much better place than it currently is, since he would wrest power away from the Imperials and then be forced to contend with the noble houses, which he then will have to compromise with in regards to cultural or political matters.

Is either that or missing attacks against mobs in a dungeon

under the Green Pact it is technically possible for some Bosmer men to be functionally indistinguishable from the women
let that sink in for a moment

Helseth had the grave misfortune of being trapped in the Tribunal expansion pack. Virtually no character came away from that looking good.

I always like seeing your collection. What house is this?

what race for a spear wielding light/medium armor user with magic on the side?
don't say argonian

Dunmer.
Or, you know, Argonian

What are you using for the furniture, Ashlander Architect?

Akshually, since this is a Morrowind/TR thread, a game and mod which do not use ESO's retconned Pahmar and Pahmar-raht designs, i regret to inform you that Pahmar/Pahmar-raht are NOT in fact 10 foot tall tiger men, but rather quadrupedal giant tigers.

Did you think for 5 seconds before you smugly smashed your keyboard

ACKSUALLY

they would just be the deadliest big cat known to man

Even if you looked at it like that, Cathay-raht would still be bigger and stronger than Nords or Orcs.

There are giant pahmar in TR though?

The strongest is actually me (5' 3" bosmer who just drank 35 gallons of sujamma)

No but last time i checked they already confirmed in planning that they're gonna have them be quadrupedal as implied in Interview with Three Booksellers instead of going with the ESO/Legends designs
Only quadrupedal furstock currently in TR are alfiq, which just look like regular cats so unsurprising

Then what the hell is the giant tiger guy working for the sload

swing miss swing miss swing miss swing miss

words words words words words

no thanks

Cathay-Raht?

What is the lore on guar "milk"?

It's like pigeon milk

Ultimate Fishing, Necrocraft, plus TR and PT have new spell effects that I don't think work in OpenMW. Oh, and there's this VHS shader for MGE I like. But mostly like one other anon said, its just what I'm used to.
