I cheesed berserker. Found a perk-leveling map with 0/6 players that spawned clots in a narrow hallway. I got the katana, taped the left mouse button and went afk. Returned as level 6. The game has no business being this grindy.

The easiest way to cheese zerker is to get into one of those perk maps, sitting in front of a scrake or fp hallway and spamming the buzzsaw bow. It counts as a melee weapon and the blades ricochet all over the hallway.

firebug's pretty easy in normal gameplay, sharpshooter also doesnt need cheesing because early game headshots are plentiful. two of the very easiest of classes.

on earlier days you could just download SAM; set perks to 5 gorillions value, or close to it, play the game, get done with shitty perks task in a day.

Perk maps would still require so much time, people was reporting them do kikewire devs, and since maps had a requirement, once caught they were put on a black list and stopped to work. Given how much of a grind it is to level up perks is the outcome really worth it? Do the higher difficulty levels make things more interesting like add more mechanics or is it just "100x enemy numbers, 100x enemy health, 100x enemy damage"

Is there something wrong with the flow of games in 2 or are you continuously moving on in big corridors with no striking map designs to force you to use atypical play styles? Are zeds more rushy? They're flooding the place and it doesn't play like one where you got the sensation they were existing all around you. In this it's like everything is popping from behind the next wall and instant zero in on you.
You don't get to do much door welding outside of in-between rounds when the pod is active. It's even useless on bosses when I recall this being very cool in 1.

Is my memory fucked up? I can remember old games of killing floor where we got to stand our ground and where we did relocate mid round but weren't constantly on the move. Yes, Tripwire underestimated how much players enjoy camping.
They wanted to make it more interesting. So we got maps that are more interconnected, and zeds can spawn pretty close. The end result is a very chaotic game.

Survivalist sucks, I don't know what you're getting at here. It is most definitely not picked 75% of the time. There are a few fun builds you can do with it but the lower damage bonus you get compared to other classes just makes it too generic for its own good.

Overall same. The atmosphere isn't as good, but the better feel of guns, non retarded leveling system with perks that have a bigger effect on gameplay, and actually starting with a class specific weapon are big improvements to me.

the only maps I would consider bad are mountainpass, moonbase, offices, steamland, and westlondon in that order.
mountainpass is way too easy, moonbase's low gravity gimmick is just annoying, offices is too cramped and only has 1 viable boring camp spot, steamland is the buggiest and laggiest map, and westlondon because it's ugly as fuck and has terrible zed pathing with crawlers getting stuck in the skybox and zeds spazzing out as they try to walk over clutter in the road.

There is only only balance change that is needed: removing all the grenade-related bonuses support has as it dates back to the first versions where the demo didn't exist. Support has no business being so viable against FP.

You are mostly right, but the

teleporting zeds

was needed. It is simply not possible to balance zeds against a standard speed, standard resistance clunky perk like the demo and against an above resistance, above speed, above regeneration perk like the medic.
Zeds are balanced for demo and as expected without teleportation, medics are unkillable.

I just wished that they kept the old models for the new weapons. A few years back they "upgraded" the weapon models and replaced them with newer Insurgency/KF2 models. I never liked it. Shiny new models in such an old engine looks terrible. Such a style mismatch.
