I liked pretty much every gun except for the nail guns. SSG is stupidly good in this game and the second skull gun has a really satisfying spread, when it reaches max full speed it kills midbosses in just a few seconds. As for the story, I thought they eased off quite a bit compared to Eternal. Yeah it has a big cast but they almost all do literally nothing and just exist to tell you what the next objective is. Most of the story can be boiled down to we trust you Doom guy but we really need someone to defeat demons (and he does).

The second skull thing works when a rocket launcher or any other weapons. That's not a skull launcher will work better. For me the ssg just doesn't have that oomph or pizzazz. Does help it's a fucking lever action for no reason.

Well that's the thing, I think most of DA's flaws are basically flaws by association to Eternal. Like we just want to make a Doom game but we've set a precedence for an expanded story so here's the peanut gallery to create the illusion we still care about that.

Yeah, almost all guns are good in TDA and you can use any of them. Wait, isn't that what you wanted? "Creative freedom"? Like in 2016 where you can use SSG and/or Gauss for the entire game, only in TDA there are more OP guns than SSG and Gauss?

It's a lever-action because all guns have to be wielded one-handed because of the shield. Also lever-actions are cool. They should give Doomguy a bolt-action shotgun if they ever decide to make Doom 3: Part 2.

That's dishonest. Even if the chainsaw doesn't regen in 2016, fuel cans are ubiquitous and each replenishes 3 pips of fuel. If you just don't chainsaw heavies and use the chainsaw like you would in Eternal, your ammo is essentially infinite in 2016. On top of that, enemies will drop ammo when they die, which can be enhanced with a rune, and there are boxes which replenish all your total ammo capacity, which is significantly higher than in Eternal for shells and rockets (and almost identical for bullets).

One of the worst parts about 2016 is the fact you can't skip cutscenes, them niggas forced to enjoy the story in that game whether they like it or not

doom eternal was good but it would be better if it didn't have canned glorykill animations. especially with how often you gotta do them to get hp, at least if you're bad like me and constantly getting shot in the ass.
the "faster glory kills" rune should have just made your regular melee animation oneshot stunned enemies instead
