Trader's Tender is a currency you get by fucking playing the game and seems a good concept; you don't really miss out, they just keep adding stuff and it cycles around again. I heard they were going to bring back some AOTC mounts as raid raid drops normally or a greater chance if you played wihth gear levels to what it would have been at the time. Same with stuff llike Mage Tower appearances, and other shit they've removed or locked away over the years (ie I 've never played a Druid but there were several Druid forms I recall that are no longer accessible). I "fell out of love" with WoD. I did not really enjoy playing it any more. It started to feel like a job. I quit.
I came back for Legion launch content, and regretted it. Quit again before the second raid even came out.
Came back about mid way though BFA because I'm a sucker for Troll and Old God content. Regretted it. I stayed around because Shadowlands had alot of potential for cool shit. Garrosh is back after all.
As it turned out SL was wasted potential given video game form. I stayed around until I witnessed Mythic Garrosh's last glorious moment. My game time ran out about an hour later. I have not even considered re-subbing since.

Everything they have done since I quit has just reaffirmed that my time in WoW is over. The tranny draconiods alone assured I would never come back. Blizzard won't make them look less faggoty.

Yeah, I agree Activision did a lot of damage. I can't feel too bad about some of the cash shop early because it was ONLY used for charity at first. During Mists of Panderia, when I realized I was wasting a lot of time doing a bunch of fucking nothing in the game and that the original joy I had of playing it was now gone and replaced by endless loot grinding.

I used to love exploring new and amazing area's that felt unique and alive, and the last time I felt that was during Wrath, I tried playing some after that but nothing felt good, area's felt bland and dead, nothing felt alive, nothing felt fun to explore and the minute they started putting players onto other servers so you never see them, well that was it.

I loved finding people in need of help and helping them, and it became seeing ghosts and nobody talking to one another, so it became just one big ass single player game that you needed to grind forever to get the things you needed to finally play with others, and those others are retarded assholes who cant enjoy shit and use the excuse "I don't have time for noobs" or something else.

tl;dr, it went from a fun social game to a boring grind fest with the social aspect being cunt high levels with to much time and money.

I stuck around to quest through Cataclysm but dropped it before I got to the first raid. I still enjoyed some of the zones and the questing but my heart wasn't in it anymore. It was a combination of them continuing to dumb down the game, the removal of a lot of character building, the story starting to feel like a comic book where events happened to wow the player and not because they were a logical progression, that sort of thing. If any one of those hadn't been the case, I would've probably stuck with the game.

Some friends asked me if I wanted to play XIV 2.0 when it released and I'm glad I did. I stuck with it for almost ten years until its major story arc concluded. Ironically it had many of the shortcomings of WoW in terms of character development and class design, but I enjoyed the story a lot and wanted to see what would happen next. With WoW I couldn't even be bothered after Trial of the Crusader being phoned in.
