Demons Souls and DS2 SotFS vets hate it because it took what was once an adventure game about outsmarting your enemy and overcoming deadly obstacles and traps by using your brain, into a simple beat em up about pressing the roll button at the right time.

I just found it to be more enjoyable than ds1 and ds2, even though there are some things I prefer in those.
really liked the level design, the bosses, the music, the atmosphere and I had a blast with the pvp fightclubs, wished fromsoft didnt fucked it up by making pvp accessible via the bonfire

All souls games are adventure games at their core and DS3 did it better than DS2 by a large margin. The way they set up Drangleic simply makes no sense at all. The moment the player realizes this all sense of adventure is lost and the game simply falls apart.

I haven't tried DS2 yet, but I really enjoyed the exploration of DS1, and I'm really sour about DS3 (only fight I liked so far was against the Dragonslayer Armour). Does DS2 offer a similar exploration experience to DS1?
