Should Red Dead Redemption 3 be set in Modern day era

inspired by No Country for Old Man?

Fuck no.

Why?

3 if it ever gets made should be another prequel during the glory days of the Wild West. It's probably just gonna be a Spaghetti Western in video game form. 1 and 2 were pretty much at the tail end and a modern RDR is just GTA.

how about set in the 60s?

Imagine RDR meets Ghost Recon Wildlands™

Set in Arizona, California, New México and some other states infested with Mexicunts

Kill mexicunt drug Lords

Kill fat Mexicunts

Kill noisy Mexicunts

Game ends

Repeat

Sounds good to me

rdr3 should have jack marston has the protagonist

Fuck that. And fuck another 'death of the west' or 'dark side of the american dream' setting.

I want to see a wild west game set in the golden age of the pioneer years. When shit was good. Hopeful.

If there's a new RDR game, it cant be in the 1990s. Klondike goldrush period could be interesting with an obvious gold plot but that was in 1986.

One option could be that it would take place during the colonialist period when people went along the Oregon trail and have multiple big maps or something but developing that would take ages

1860s or 1960s?
People come for the setting. Retired cowboy in 1960s would never work gameplay wise. Why are you going to do? Ride a horse while everyone passes you in your car? That's not gonna be fun. Too much tie in with GTA.

I believe that rural American life has been so stereotyped by Hollywood that nothing useful can be portrayed there. There is probably potential for good stories involving modern cowboys or some shit, but what you're likely to get is "white trash" fighting over drugs or something like that, in line with the established Jewish view of America.

No. RDR1 was pretty much the end of the Wild West in 1910 if not earlier. Mid 1800s were the glory cowboy days. Any further back and you just lose out on tech and setting plus you have the Civil War.
This
Oregon trail and frontier west sounds pretty badass though not gonna lie.

this, it would also go well with the de-woked Rockstar in the 2030s

RDR3 would just be Jack's son going off to fight in WW1

No, that's a fucking terrible idea

i would like a red dead comedy game, something fun
both the original games are super depressing

they'll either make yukon gold (so northen america/canada) or the rush to the west (because rdr1 and 2 are on the east coast only)

I could see a good Old Northern game.

gee bill. two mini maps?

thats just GTA
make another game called Red Dead Revolution during the mexican revolution and you true western kino

see

That's literally GTA 4 Lost and Damned

Next one should be a completely separate set of characters in a completely different area. I know they like the southwest and the Mexican border because spaghetti westerns are iconic, but the British/Canadian border was an underrated hot spot with smugglers dodging Mounties.

Third should take place in Florida and focus on the Florida cracker cowboys and take place before the events of rdr2 but focus on a completely different set of characters and they could probably recycle assets and use a modified version of the map from gta 6 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florida_cracker

No, they did that with Call of Juarez and it killed the series.

There's only one thing it should be, The Australian Outback

No Country for Old Man

spic drug wars written by a gay man

country western

lol

british hack Dan houser who cant even properly ripoff michael mann movies or episodes of the sopranos adopting (ripping off) the greatest american writer of the 20th century cormac mccarthy

give me the drugs your on, they must be good if they make you that retarded

It should be set in 1800s Botswana..

time wasting question

just to show off his AI slop

They should probably do the origin story of Dutch since rdr2 makes him out to be some mythic individual to the gang but in reality doesn’t do much in the story except say trust me Arthur

RDR should take place 40 years in the past in the far south where you are witness to the events of Blood Meridian

file.png - 800x998, 1.19M

it should take place after the mexican-american war with gangs and militias and natives running loose

We already have, it's GTA.

Should be set in 19th century Australia, or really anywhere that isn't just USA again. I'd love for Rockstar to do a game set in Victorian Britain with all the RDR2 mechanics.

Should a western setting game be in the modern era

Do you not know what a western is? Or are you stupid and think western means a game made in the western hemisphere?

Isn't that just GTA?

No, new series set during prohibition, have Jack Marston as a side character who runs booze

Calm down Pablo

No it should be in space with cyborg horses and laser repeaters and alien cowgirls

It should be in the future

IMG_1517.jpg - 607x1000, 82.88K

Nice

Don't really care as much about the setting if they just take us away from that faggot dutch and his proto hippie rainbow cult. I swear to god in 2 it felt less like working with an oldwest outlaw gang and more like working with a late 19th century politically correct manson family. Lame as fuck.

tall buildings means its....le modern

shibam.jpg - 2500x1658, 790.58K

Fuck no. It's unlikely they ever make an RDR3, but if they did, it should be set in the peak of the wildest west during the 1870's and 80's following a different group of characters (but maybe some cameos and missions that feature Arthur, Dutch, Hosea, John, etc)

No, I want Agent.
I know they are still holding onto it.

Because when everyone thinks of Wild West Americana, they think of Yemen.

tall buildings out in the distance is kino tho
makes the world feel big

Can't wait for the sequel, Gangster of Love

Isn't GTA VI supposed to have horses? There were rumors that Rockstar planned on implementing the whole equine mechanics into the game, specially on rural areas of Vice City

Wasn't just Dutch's group. Everything about rdr2's gangs was comic booktier slop.

DUDE OVERTLY SUPERNATURAL VOODOO ZOMBIES LMAO

DUDE ARMIES OF INBRED MUTANTS LMAO

DUDE CRAZED MOUNTAIN MEN WHO SCALP AND MUTILATE PEOPLE LIKE INDIANS BUT THEY'RE NOT INDIANS LMAO

DUDE CONFEDERATE HOLDOUTS WITH 20+ YEAR OLD UNIFORMS THAT LOOK PRISTINE LMAO

DUDE IRISH MOBSTERS WITH GREEN TIES AND GAY ACCENTS LMAO

as over the top rdr1 was with its spaghetti western themes and visuals at least the enemies were more grounded

Red Dead Redemption: Blood Meridian

DO IT

judge_holden.png - 756x761, 824.72K

I might be a giant retard but it doesn't have to take place in a different year than RDR1 or 2 does it? Just have it take place in a different state or something

Man I wish Red Dead 3 was something totally different instead of the prequelshit. Read Dead 4 is stuck focusing on "muh Arthur" now.

At that point just put horses in GTA.

They do reference him in RDO, even let you don your own suit for a mission… fucking R* man.

Jack fighting in WW1

then he dies halfway through and we get to play with someone else avenging his death.

Red Dead Redemption 3

sorry but rdr3 will take place before rdr2, not after it

sure but first you need to kill yourself now

I swear why the living fuck has this edgy book gained popularity right now? I read it when I was a teen at school and nobody gave 2 shits about it for a decade

Literally 1 tiny reference to it you could have missed easily in RDR2

Gay.

no we need to go right the fuck back to the wild west, actual wild west not this fucking muh dying west, infact why not some blood meridian type shit, texas frontier, scalping injuns etc that would be fucking based. They would never but you could get real fucking dark with it. Or I guess go back to 1880 when red dead revolver was set, thats old timey enough but going forwards doesn't work, too close to ww1 and the actual death of the west then its just old timey gta and fuck that I want western shit.

be cool to have a game about being a frontiersman, been reading about lewis wetzel who was a very successful indian hunter (killed dozens on his own in the late 1700s over a 20 year period, interesting as fuck) and it would be interesting to have a game set in that period, trying to survive, sheeit even some revenant 1820s frontiersman stuff would be cool. Just want some gritty western shit.

Incoming movie and Anon Babble-tubers

I read it years ago, only got popular because some fucking youtuber decided to read it and now everyone pilled onto it and now the thing I liked years ago suddenly isn't cool anymore and is now lame. Fucking hate when that happens, so many times I have had this happen.

I HAVE A GOD DAMN PLAN ARTHUR
but they wont let me cancel it on the website

rdr2 should've ended with arthur going to jail and then the epilogue would've had jack bust him out
