The core group feels more cohesive like 3's does toward the end game. As opposed to 5 where they feel more like a collective of your groupies. If you liked 3/5 you'll like 4.

4 is my favourite of the 3 games. It has the best party of the 3 games and the mystery is engaging with the best antagonist in the series. I have no idea why people pretend 4 is bad and 3 is god's gift to mankind(it's the worst of the 3).

There is an argument over replay value in the dungeons of p4 vs p5, because p5's dungeons are extremely fucking easy to clear when you know the layouts.

Are 4 dungeons actual levels or just something like the tower in 3?

3 and 4 are equal but not similar, 3 has the highest high of the 3 while 4 is consistently great, even consistently better than 3 for most of the run times. But 3 has the benefit of the cast getting to run through their arcs without player involvement outside of aigis.

They are inbetween, there are set floors in 4 but most floors are randomized, however no dungeon in 4 is as long as tartarus or mementos.

I don't think 3 really had any highs particularly for me which is why I'm VERY confident in saying it's the worst game, like it's 4 > 5 >>>>>>> for me it's not even close. The story just came across as really pretentious and the party never really had a cohesion that made me enjoy spending time with them and then on top of all that it's got the least fun combat of them as well. It's a game I've just got to accept that I'll never understand why people like it as much as they do.

Bruh, everything from Shinjiro's death onward is why Persona 3's story stood the test of time unlike its gameplay prior to Reload.

I liked the overall concept of 3 being spec-ops agents working for the secret organization more than 4's scooby doo gang and definitely more than 5's whatever the fuck retardation they were doing.

The randomized levels mean you can engage with the game on repeat playthroughs instead of having your eyes glaze over. There are no variations to 5's palaces, there aren't even significant edits between 5 vanilla and 5 royal. Every run of persona 5 will have dungeons perform exactly the same.
You also aren't able to return to palaces to grind in p5, its not efficient to spend any days grinding within the palaces, and focusing the palaces on various minor villains of the story rather than your party members was a poor decision in my mind.

As somebody who did a Merciless run of P5 vanilla back in the day, you could not be anymore wrong. Grinding is what makes or breaks a Persona game on the hardest difficulty (except for P5R, but that's its own can of worms)
