What do you do in these cases? I want to play, but nothing catches my attention. Is it time to give up?
You reach 30 and automatically, "All games are garbage, the industry is dying."
Hasn't happened to me. AAA games have always been shit even since I was a kid, I was never interested in heavily marketed and forced shit. Search around for something that suits your taste and branch out, there are always good games coming out.
i realized that in 2007 as a kid sorry
The trick is to just replay games you already like
Try something completely different. What do you normally play, both games and genre?
I've been that way since 2012 and I'm not even 30 yet
As an indiechad I don't have that issue.
this
Play indie games that imitate older games. There are thousands.
b-but they suck
Okay. Most of them, sure. But there's definitely something that will appeal to you.
I dig deeper and almost immediately find good games i never knew of.
As soon you're out of the mainstream news slop, you will just trip into good games all the time.
Even literally free games.
Return to retro.
it's nostalgia
It's crazy how suggestive you are. Don't go and visit a hypnotist because you'd be fucked.
What do you do in these cases?
Get a real hobby?
I used to be big on competitive shooters, but now I just play Balatro or whatever random title from my library.
Most of my friends have phased out of shooters, and the people I meet in-game tend to be weird 70% of the time. So I just stick to singleplayer games now.
I read instead
There are literal tens of thousands of good games you've never played, you attention-deprived son of a bitch. I'm gonna brick in your goddamn mouth.
Only good games on that whole list are Yomi Hustle,Pizza tower, Slay the Princess, and void stranger. Honorable mentions to Dredge and World of Horror but they fall a bit flat. Celeste should be purged from existence along with any other troon game
Its called growing up. Your brain craves the dopamine from actually going and getting stuff done. No weak simulation will ever be able to satisfy it. Its like a druggie one day waking up and unable to get high ever again.
Get new hobbies, go hiking, travel around the world, make fulfilling social relationships, lean stuff, start a career, marry and reproduce. You are free now.
Pick up an old game you enjoyed install bunch of mods on top of it and it's just the right mix of nostalgia familiarity and freshness that gets me going at least.
Only good games on that whole list are...
Wow! Anon here played all of them! And what luck that the ones he likes just so happen to be the popular and accessible ones!
All games ARE garbage and the industry IS dying though
I started getting a bunch of game bundles to try games I normally wouldn't. Most of them suck but I have found some real gems.
the whiniest niggers on Anon Babble are all 30 year old millenials
checks out
t. dragon age veilguard enjoyer
Take the dev pill
Nightreign just came out, doomer fag
Its called growing up. Your brain craves the dopamine from actually going and getting stuff done
THIS, and it’s not a bad thing.
Yea I played 90% of them and if I didn't play your game it's because it was so low quality and not worth my time. My steam library is hundreds of indie games and a few competitive shooters. Sorry that you're poor and can't afford to just buy shit outright.
Popular and Accessible
If an indie game isn't popular it's because it's genrrally low effort, low quality or both. All the games there are for sale on steam are you retarded or something.
You probably burned out. Try taking a break and coming back.
We grew up playing unquestionable 100% pure distilled LUDOKINO made during the golden age of gaming, of course it's all downhill from here
The AAA industry is turning into witches due the contract with kyubey they all did.
But the rest is free to try to be good.
Most will fail horribly, but not all of em
Yea I played 90% of them
You're fooling nobody
If an indie game isn't popular it's because it's genrrally[sic] low effort, low quality or both.
Nobody who plays over 60 new games a year holds this opinion that popularity consistently correlates to quality.
All games are garbage, the industry is dying.
this doesn't apply to Nintendo fans, thoughbeit
Play old games.
You’re hopeless bitch, you want us to talk you into liking games? Go watch tv and drink beer. Surf reddit. That’s what you want.
that's because your attention is up your ass facing down the consequence of mortality. Stop doing that and enjoy life. Remember how to be silly.
I said that when I was 19. Do your old games make you say that?
Literally just play old games. A shitty laptop filled with emulators has more value than a fancy top of the line rig that only has the latest AAA slop on its SSD.
If your opinion isn't X you must be lying
How retarded do you have to be to believe this. Popularity is a good metric for how good a game is quality wise. Weather it matches up to your personal standards and preferences is a different story.
muh 60 new games
Most of the games in that list are under 15h to beat. The longest things there only reach upwards of 60 hours(Void Stranger Talos2 Bunburrows) because puzzle games are subject to individual skill and how willing you are to look up secrets especially if you want to 100% them. Then second longest would be jrpgs like Small saga/ SoS. I finished many other games that year too under large publishers like Dave the diver bg3 nuPikmin sorry that you're just dogshit at time management or bad at games.
I felt like the industry was dying back when I was 20 though. I feel like now we've been in a silver age with the resurgence of Japanese video game in the mainstream for a while.
where's the 'ick
I'm 33 and I love video games. It's mostly a Anon Babble problem, honestly. It's been part of "Anon Babble culture" to fucking hate video games and be angry all the time that people get lost in the meme shit and start to feel that way for real, then they feel lost because they don't have any other hobbies aside from games but they HAVE to hate games because vidya game industry bad. Things ARE objectively worse now than before but it doesn't mean literally every single game is shit, that's retarded to even think about. But if you bleed and shit Anon Babble then yeah, there's no saving you. Spend less time here and go play vidya or do something else entirely.
I do think most new stuff sucks but there's still cool stuff. The oversaturation is very real and it is harder and more annoying than ever to sift through the shit to find the stuff you'll like but it's out there.
I really like Half Sword, best physics combat ever put in a game.
Arc Raiders is getting a beta this Friday and I had a lot of fun with the last one despite not being much of an extraction shooter fan. I really like the robots and how they are entirely physics driven.
I guess what I'm actually saying is that physics in games is dope and they still exist if you look
By having a personality of your own. I am 35 and still love and play videogames.
Having a healthy, active life also helps.
The industry has only been dying since 2012 when they started diversity hiring, so all major studios, especially in the US all turned to shit for a decade or more. What used to be an industry churning out 10+ GOOD AAA games a year is now one where you get maybe 1 good game every year.
I felt that way when I was 13 upon the release of the Xcocks 360
I felt this way in 2016 when I was 21 tho.
Basically once overwatch and pub g came out that was the last gasp of creativity. Now we are still in the battle royal/team arena shooter phase, some how.
There were slight revivals in the city management, simulator and tycoon genres, strangely. Manorlords is cool, soviet republic looks interdasting
I was in my mid to late 20s when I started losing interest in video games. I’m 35 now and while I will still play video games, it’s not as frequent as before. I may play older games once a month, instead of every day. It’s only when I discover a new game that I really like that I’ll be somewhat like my old self and play it every day for a couple of hours until I finish the story.
I hit 30, I play Darktide and ps1+ps2 games and jerk my dick to anime women. What are my thoughts?
man I liked the first wave of digital distribution indies but everything in past few years is basically just an element of a little gay social media subculture like undertale or that sex-horror dungeon crawler instead of a game you're just supposed to play
don't let memeshit games represent the entire indie scene. the stuff that bubbles up to the top like that will always be normalfag shit or pure degenerate perversion, no in-between. you have to work harder than ever to find games you actually want instead of algorithm slop which is the real problem today
I am 34, and yes, all games are trash since indie trash is in mass production.
And people think Kojima as LA IMAGINACION, instead of EL OGRO OF OKINAWA
Take a break and then play old games. Easy
Im 31 and i do think all games are garbage and gayming industry is dying, but i dont think both things are related at all, it is just a coincidence
ive reached that point and i am gonna try making my own game, fuck it
32 Here. I found it to be the opposite actually. Once games became a break from my inevitable fate as a half-normie instead of what I did everyday, all day I found it to be so much more enjoyable. Although I don't think anything ever will bring back that magical period I experienced when MMO's were at their height of popularity and form.
This guy gets it.
go speak brownoid somewhere else
Videogames are trash since sexo and adult themes are taboo thanks to amerimutts protestants.
Also, the fucking retards trying to think videogames as a form of art ruined everything.
Disregard AAA garbage and indie trannies.
Acquire Retro LUDO
I only play H-Games and WEG because mainstream games are too childish.
