But those mods are inevitably uploaded somewhere else. So it's fine.
Nexus has to pay hosting fees to serve me 200 GB of mods, while chudmods.com only has to serve a single 2kb mod for me once a year maybe.
I block ads and have lifetime premium, so they gain nothing from me and it works flawlessly.
This is a win-win for everyone involved. Nexus gets to feel smug, while paying the gigantic hosting costs; we, the GAMERS, get to have whatever mods we want with blazing fast downloads.

From their horrible UI, horrible moderation removing the random anti tranny mod but leaving 6 Brazilian translation mods, extorting money through their subscription or promoting their horrible mod launcher that doesn't work half of the time
You can't even download the mod without logging in and even then you will be severely limited in speed without a subscription

I've downloaded several terabytes worth of mods over the years and this thought never even occurred to me, the idea that they have sitewide moderators.
Every time a mod was taken down it was because of the autistic mod author having a meltdown.

People want the convenience of having mod managers that directly download the stuff for you and instantly install the mods. There are even tools that let you download whole mods packs, so it's just a convenience thing. I know most of Anon Babble wouldn't mind but we are talking about normies who are the majority and have all the shekels to pay for this ease of use.
If you find a way to integrate the torrent to a mod manager, then you are set.
