Dark Heresy

Will your first run be radical or puritan, will you work with xenos or slaughter them?
Will you plap the potential elf-wife?

file.png - 1185x1648, 2.22M

Romances were a mistake.

This anon wouldn't be mad if OP asked about an elf-husband

What will the Night Lord plot be? Will Owlkek just make them murderhobos or will they do something interesting?

Radical, will recruit everyone that isn't an active threat to crew like Marazhai, as that doesn't make sense to the character I have in mind

My first and canon run will be as Jimmy Heinrix, the aspiring radical, who only fucks rogue teaders and olive-skinned baronesses

Did he cut off the bear gut of some civillian and stuck it to his armour?

radical xenophile
I will fuck and impregnate a tyranid queen, when terra falls to the bugs they will all have my poor facial hair, my poor genetics may doom their invasion entirely, making me the potential saviour of the entire milky way

Will Laarthyr be a good detective? Says he investigated hive world with other radical inqusitor

file.png - 1024x1536, 3.25M

Now back to the discount-druchii fags in the last thread, your city got fucked up by salamanders and gets routinely raped by daemons because your femboy rulers are too busy castrating themselves. You were only relevant with Ynnari and even that has collapsed, Decimus has nothing written yet and he is still more important to the galaxy then pedo hedonists who hide in their goon cave. I do like the Dark Eldar though.

None of that is relevant to the Night Lords being the biggest jobbers in the setting, though, which is what was being discussed.

your city got fucked up by salamanders

unironically all according to keikaku with every single step of it orchestrated by vect to take out his rivals. vect isn't as bad as Abaddon as far as "ACTUALLY ALL OF THIS WAS ACCORDING TO MY PERFECT PLANS!" but he's definitely up there.

Salamanders were purposefully lured into Commorragh to act as glorified pest control

Ye, hence the chain

The discussion morphed into someone posting Mandrakes though incase you were the last post in the thread then

brought up GW's pickmes

Alright fag, you are not seriously bringing up Calgar to make your point. Should ADB have written Talos doing somersaults and shit before killing a Craftworld and spouting one liners? Would that make you happy if they were written as the most super duper galaxy important specials to ever live?

I respect the hussle but Vect is still just one guy, that makes the rest of the Dark Eldar suckers if we are using that as an example.

Says where?

Cope

night lords being losers and jobbers who die doing something completely pointless (temporarily inconveniencing somebody who can revive indefinitely) is perfectly in-character and makes sense. The problem is pretending it's anything other than a loss. In Arks of Omen Angron an entire Indomitus fleet was lost just to temporarily banish Angron. That's a huge loss and nobody pretends otherwise, if somebody tried coping and saying it WASN'T a loss they'd be just as fucking stupid

A companion possibly though it will suck if he is just a discount word bearer and a chaos worshipper.

After entering into a precarious alliance with a radical Inquisitor, Laarthyr set foot on one of Humanity's hive worlds, risking his life for his own mysterious ends.

I guess he has some experience with inqusition shit plus he is a wayseer psyker

Salamanders were lured into cumrag because elven women crave BBC

if your opponent is immortal and you die fighting him, that's a loss. the only way to come out ahead is by beating them and surviving. that's why greater daemons and the daemon primarchs and avatar of khaine job so much. they can lose and the other guy survive and it means GW can keep selling models.

ACTUALLY LOSING TO SOMEBODY WHO'S FUCKING IMMORTAL in warhammer is INCREDIBLY embarrassing. That would be like an Avatar of Khaine killing Dante. Everyone would be totally shocked, wtf do you mean the jobber actually won?????

Unironically the companion i'm looking forward to the most. I hope he's a bro

The fact is the Night Lords won that battle, was it almost a draw? Of course it was however they gained a new leader (book when) and they defeated something they should have had no chance against. If you are not saying it was impressive they beat a Phoenix Lord then you are just being silly. If losing best guy Talos is what it takes for the Night Lords to start to kick into gear then that was a win thematically.

People brought up Mandrakes because that fag defending the Night Lords brought up a single one dabbing on them and making them run like bitches. Again. Just like the Genestealers did. Just like the Blood Angels did. Just like everyone does when they fight the Night Lords, even their great "victory" was against an infinitely respawning character that they still could only beat by self deleting all of their named characters in the fight.

I mean, if you fucking job to the ELDAR, you are 100% the biggest jobbers in 40K, bar none. Which is fitting since that's always what the Night Lords were and have been, the designated jobbers, the over the top edgy heels that act tough until they face real opposition and then they predictably get their shit kicked in. That is their purpose in the setting and always has been.

The fact is the Night Lords won that battle

are the night lords canadian? what is this "if you kill your enemies, they win!" nonsense? if you die and the other guy gets back up that's a loss, it's why people who can respawn almost never win in warhammer........but they did win against the night lords

people being this autismal about who has the strongest toy

I mean, if you fucking job to the ELDAR, you are 100% the biggest jobbers in 40K, bar none.

remember biel tan....haha.....

Just like the Blood Angels

Where? Raldoran? The one guy? How about Raguel or does that suddenly not count as it was only one guy?

genestealers and Mandrakes

And if they lose a battle does that makes them useless factions or does that title only go towards groups you personally don't enjoy?

Job to the Eldar

Seeming as there were Night Lords after the battle and no Eldar including a Phoenix Lord then they did not job to them.

So for the record, noone can ever win against a Phoenix Lord ever? That is the argument you are going with? Is it suddenly no longer embarrassing when Lucius loses a fight because he always comes back? Your Canadian comment works better against you

Eldar who all got killed won because one of them got resurrected across the galaxy

And that's why /vrt/ and /vdh/ will always be superior to Anon Babble generals. It brings out the good kind of autism. Comfy like arguing with your friend in 1998 which action man is stronger

if they had actually killed off jain zar for good it would be a win. they didn't though, the same way Angron didn't actually die after destroying an entire indomitus fleet. being put in time out for five minutes vs. every single named character permadead isn't a comparison

I think Dark Eldar job horribly less than normal Eldar do, part of being an EVIL evil faction, I assume. They are so powerful that even some of their most cruel and degenerate are capable of love.

That's cause they only fight unarmed peasants

Unrealistically high standards, you want the rinky dink group of fifty Astartes to have some kind of God killing blade or something? Does every story have to have the protagonist change a foundational part of the lore to satiate a win? Do you consider the Empire beating a Tyranid invasion a loss because they didn't wipe out every tyranid in the galaxy so they might come back?

So for the record, noone can ever win against a Phoenix Lord ever?

no, they could actually permakill one, the same way named characters can be permakilled like yarrick. being "immortal" is actually a huge debuff narratively since you get the Wolverine effect; the only X-Men who get dismembered constantly are the ones who can grow their limbs back. being """""immortal""""" in 40k is actually signing up to be a full-time jobber since you can lose more dramatically without upsetting the status quo.

Of course, characters can "lose" without actually dying, but that's comparatively rare and nowadays is usually just an excuse for a marine to get Primarised

Necrons?

50 space marines is an entire demi-company, fewer marines than that have killed bigger enemies and survived.

Oh right, we're talking about Night Lords. yeah you're right, that's basically 50 guardsmen, poor babies never stood a chance

i just hope the soundtrack will be just as good as roguetraders. reaving tempest made me cream my pants

They said it's the same team doing the OST

I don't disagree but that is outside the universe, were the story about an Imperial Saint and all her army being killed by orks but she revived on another planet I do not think anyone would seriously be saying the orks lost that one.

fewer marines than that have killed bigger enemies and survived

Name them, you are talking shit.

inb4 Ultramarines

Fuck it, name them as well. I want to hear how they killed a demi-god and Primarch tier threat and survived with less then fifty Marines.

He's right though, immortal or respawning characters in the narrative always lose, because it doesn't matter if they do since they just come back anyway. The fact the Night Lords lost all of their named dudes against a guy designed and created to lose absolutely makes them the jobber of jobbers. The Iron Mike Sharpe of 40K, if you will.

just as good

It needs to be better. At least darktide tier.

They still have Lucorphys, Malek and Garadon, Variel and Zso Zahaal and even Straivok and Krieg if you want them. You now have Decimus. What answer will you have next, they aren't as famous as Talos and Decimus' book hasn't been written yet so they don't count?

wish granted
everything else will also be darktide tier

I really hope they add femdom content to the game, a dedicated bdsm straight female romance that dominates the MC and turns him into her submissive boy.
They missed the opportunity with Kibellah and Jae.

everything else will also be darktide tier

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE

For me it's pregnancy mechanics

Femdomfags are one step away from being cuckolds

Yes, the Night Lords have more guys that can still job to whatever GW wants them to, what is your point here? I don't get why you seem to be so mad that the Night Lords exist to suck and lose, there are plenty of factions like that in 40K. By the end of this Owlcat game there will be yet another Night Lord in the "jobbed to a random Inquisitor" pile as well, that's what they're there for, that's their narrative function.

Ikr
I just want a rpg/crpg where we play as a 16-18 year old male twink and get trained by older dominant women and become their pets

I always wanted to play Inquisitor back in the day. I never did, not even getting the minis, despite playing a ton of Necromunda.

So now you've moved to

all of the factions are jobbers

Which was my point since the start, saying the Night Lords are jobbers especially with the context that most campaigns are written to push models which they until recently had few of is insincere. That being said if you want to wrap back around to arguing about Batwings I will be more then happy too. I just think they are cool, like the Dark Angels feathers.

bfgDarkAngel.jpg - 1780x2360, 817.14K

I'm just happy Owlkek didn't feature any primarchslop in their games so far

Give it time, if they get popular enough then GW will give them the greenlight and we will be Guilliman's top guy.

I never did back in the day. But now I play inq28.

knowing owlcat powerscaling our party is gonna go toe to toe with angron before too long

Imagine Owlkek makes a 40K rpg where you make your own primarch

In a better world anon

whatever happened to "that story"?
Is it lost media? I remember someone even made a physical model of it

Lotta spoilers:
In the anthology of stories about Space Wolves searching for Grimnar a good chunk of it is dedicated to them capturing what feels like a whole company (or a good part of it) of them to fight in one of their arenas to the death (they spirited away some other marines in the same place before). The Space Wolves that survive only escape thanks to a rival wych cult crashing the party. The DEldar start jobbing only in the last story they "appear" in, where are they are a swarm of ships chasing the SW barge.
In the novel about Lukas they do some damage and their leader kicks Lukas's ass in 1v1 and rips his heart out with both ending the novel clearly having some respect for one another.
There's a story about Deathwatch kicking their asses but it starts with an Iron Hand losing his whole squad to their haemonculus's trap.
Another story is strange: it follows a crew of a BANEBLADE, an Inquisitor recruits only 500 Guardsmen to serve as a bait so she could crush local deldar marauders. They get tons of stuff for just 500 Guardsmen though, like there are two Titans of I think not the smallest size, the Baneblade and other armor. Less than a hundred of Guardsmen do survive the Deldar attack, with some shit like the Baneblade crew surviving a Mandrake materialising inside because a new tribal recruit turns out to be the strongest warrior of his tribe. But then they discover why they never saw the Inquisitor, her small army of stormtroopers and 5 DW Marines. They all got offscreened with the humans dead and Marines' fate unknown, with Deldar leaving behind only their helmets.
In Uncanny Crusade or what's it called Black Templars come to blows with Mandrakes because both are hunting some xeno invaders from a more-dimensional plane of reality, with Mandrakes performing way better than in the aforementioned story and being a match to the Spess Mehreens.

Imagine the ass-hurt if you never got to bang Cassia
All that courtly love fucking around, and all you get is a kiss on the cheek

Sounds more like the radical inquisitor is you. You can recruit him if you're radical enough

Yrlietbro fantasizing about what ifs where he doesn't lose

I doubt I'll ever play a dogmatard, it's just not very fun

Radical, full on Einsenhorn.

I think the issue is that some choices are just retarded no matter the alignment, Heretic has the worst followed by a tie between grognak dogma and naïve icono. Doesn't help that you have to commit fully to get options later in the game.

Kys elfcel

At least Heretic feels a bit different, Dogmatic is the same as Icono in terms of the whole run except you just get less content.

Fuck it, name them as well. I want to hear how they killed a demi-god and Primarch tier threat and survived with less then fifty Marines.

Phoenix Lords haven't been """"demi-god and Primarch tier threats""""" in like 30+ years, with the sole exception of Maugan Ra being turbowanked in the 5th edition nids codex soloing an entire hive splinter. The context there though is that the 5th edition nids codex was written by Robin Cruddace and he literally fucking hates tyranids and purposefully shat on them with that book because he mains Guard, in fact he and Matt Ward are why GW stopped crediting authorship to Codexes period....
50 marines, several of which are named HQ units AND a fucking dreadnought is literally an entire 2000 point tabletop army. Jain Zar is fucking 105 points. The dreadnought that had to suicide to take her out cost more to field than she does. An entire demi-company of marines (AND A DREADNOUGHT!) have killed way bigger threats than a phoenix lord without all committing suicide like retards.

Alpha Legion

killed a deceiver shard impersonating alpharius

Calgar

soloed swarmlord and an avatar, both of which cost more than jain zar

Grey Knights

less than a dozen grey knights have banished straight up greater daemons, nevermind needing fifty fucking dudes, multiple HQ units, and a Dread to do it.

Woofs

ragnar cut ghazzy's head off as a manlet marine captain BY HIMSELF, he didn't even have his bullshit primaris buffs yet

blood angels

mephiston has done absolutely retarded dragonball z tier anime shit but even ignoring him you've got a laundry list of named characters like lemartes, dante, astorath, etc.

fallen dark angels

cypher and his like three bros killed their way through a bunch of custodes on terra to escape the imperial palace after being locked up following rescuing guilliman.

actual dark angels

azrael 1v1'd vashtorr in arks of omen before the lion returned and beat angron

if Celestine killed Ghazghkull plus a morbillion orks and later revived people would not say that the orks won the encounter.

Yeah, but Talos and friends destroyed normal Banshees' blades by screaming louder than usual with their normal space marine voices. That's some A-grade bullshit that makes them deserve worse than getting mulched by a lady jobber who costs less than them on the tabletop.

the fact ADB thinks turning the volume setting up on your helmet is equivalent to a howling banshee's psychic scream is all the proof needed he doesn't give a shit about anything but writing space marine daddy issues

Lies and slander, he also cares about his brooding Space Marine knight and a comparably tiny human lady duos.

Jae is findom

What if the Drukhari GF is from the Emasculators Kabal..

we're much more likely to get a harlequin clussy girl to round out the various elf factions represented

What if the Drukhari GF is from the Mon'keigh's Pet Kabal

radical I guess? mostly because I use my brain to get people on my side that will follow me because I decided to show bare minium care
so many retarded imperial laws are comically bad, but I'm not going good guy either, you are a traitor, you get the bullet, any short of dealing with chaos? you get the bullet
I do belive in the emperor but not 80% of the retards in the imperium

Harlequin gf who acts like a big friendly cat (sitting on your desk when you're trying to work, wanting headpats)

Doesn't help that you have to commit fully to get options later in the game.

They improved this with a recent patch by making points more generous. So you can max out your chosen path without going full retard all the time

This is a cool cat idea

I do want Night Lords to suck and lose
They're great at it

How about just a catgirl that acts like a big friendly cat, wanting pets?

owlcat arent based enough to give us a felinid catgirl gf

Felinids aren't as pretty in reality as they are in fanart

um actually the most recent description we have of them is being indistinguishable from normal humans except having forearm length claws and being excellent hunters even by a kroot's standards

Catgirls irl

If only

the scrapped Daemonette companion in RT

Do it for Dark Heresy Owlcat, I know your social media manager browse this hellhole, I wanna recreate Syll'Esske!

We'll get a daemonhost wife

Why couldn't they just make a normal Inquisition game without the xenos?

How do I make this character in RT/DH?

ugh waifutards

A normal inquisition game is full of xenos

Anons is this true?

Will your first run be radical or puritan, will you work with xenos or slaughter them?

depends, I'll choose whatever seems correct at the time.

Oh, sorry, let me see
I can't wait to get a cute clown twink bf!
Is this better? does this not offend you?

yeah

They should add a blank companion

cute sister of silence who takes advantage of the fact moans and laughing are allowed under their oath of silence please owlcat

I watched this one episode of mompov with a deaf asian milf and it was kinda like that

cute sister of silence

i just want a generic guardsmen who never shows his face who happens to be a strong blank we have too many OC DONUT STEALS

sauce?

WTF? Anons? Is this true??

8247291.png - 1280x1920, 2.7M

Cassia would know Marazhai's true emotions, she wouldn't be blushing.
I can believe a female RT would be that retarded though.

we have too many OC DONUT STEALS

isn't blanks literally that though? They are 1 in a billion chance of being born with that trait

I can't believe a woman would be that retarded

Really? Because this is literally real life only taken to an extreme.

1 in a billion is decently common by 40k standards, like it's rare don't get me wrong, but there's literally only 1000 ultramarines and blood angels in the entire galaxy. There's only 10,000 custards at any given time (ironically making posterboy marines 10x as rare lol). With millions of planets and populations into the trillions on those planets, "one in a billion" pops up a decent amount.

Read the post again

blank companion

genuinely one of the most pleasant characters in the game and is written is be likable, loyal and helpful

smells like shit

literally impossible to be nice to them unless you pass skill checks, otherwise you can only be distant and professional or outright hostile to them

all the other companions either shit talk them or avoid them, besides the Ogryn and the Kroot who are confused as to why everything is a cunt to them

the most useful companion against psyker or Chaos enemies

I dig it

Well shit.

please owlchads give elffu that puts out

No you just want a waifu you fix

He didn't say that it should be a female or not.

no I want a blank companion who is generic imperial guard

sauce?

Mompov Song Lee

We all know what he wants

This is what it's like for an eldar to talk to a human btw

Shut up, Yrliet.

An Eldar can still scrub the dirtiness of Humans.

you are incorrect i just want a normal imperal guard who is male, never shows his face, and is a blank im sorry im not a porn addict like you anon

how would a guardsman be a blank?

I just hope there's a decent pragmatist route.

In Rogue Trader there were some choices which were pretty stupid. Like whether you should blow up that planet. Should you? Yes. Very obviously. It isn't a choice. All of those people were about to have their souls raped by daemons. Like, there wasn't a choice, but the game posed one to you anyway.

All of those people were about to have their souls raped by daemons

Yes, but I don't see how the rogue trader would know that. Knowledge of how a daemon world comes into being is highly specialised knowledge and even a Rogue Trader has little more knowledge than Chaos = Archenemy
Maybe you could pass a Lore (Warp) check to realise that only exterminatus can help them

I like when my dollies get jealous, there should be more

The Lord Captain loves ME, not you, you horrid xeno!

Elantach is MINE. Keep your claws off him, you fish-eyed freak!

I choose to believe that the protagonist rogue trader is an innate super psyker which is why they can do all the magical meta bullshit you can do in the game.

That's the Imperium, actually.

They're not. They're a 'safe villain' faction that can show up pretty much anywhere, be a bit scary at first, then get smacked around until they run away back to Commoragh without much consequence.
Like GSC, but more exotic.

They all are. Every faction is the Mary-Sue.

Dark Eldar are the Mary-Sue because they hide in their gooncave dimension and send up unassailable rape parties.
Tau are the Mary-Sue because they have the best tech, the best cohesion, the best prospects.
Tyranids are the Mary-Sue because they are infinite and have eaten infinity billion quadrillion gorillion other galaxies before this with their super mega ultra instinct hive mind.
Necrons are the Mary-Sue because they nominally control tech from the War in Heaven and are just having a wee snooze before they kill everyone.

It's Mary-Sue top to bottom, man. It's so that people can feel better about whichever army they are collecting. No matter which one you pick you are picking the strongest and bestest. Now give Games Workshop five hundred more pounds for this printed out plastic.

Every faction is the Mary-Sue.

Except Eldar lmao

How, they have a murder rape god thing eating their souls

I don't believe the imperium would use the words "Drukhari" or "Asuryani" except in scientific publications. They would just call them all Eldar
Corsairs would be "Eldar pirates"
Dark Eldar would be "Eldar slave raiders"

The broad Imperial term is 'xenos scum'.
They don't care that different Eldar exist. They're going to kill them all anyways.

What part of the Imperium? Much of the Inquisition has a good enough reason to know the difference. Random mooks on hive worlds probably don't even think Eldar exist.

Yeah but in the game they're carrying on like "oh no the Drukhari are raiding us". They wouldn't say that

I meant random mooks. I'm pretty sure that in the game even random dipshits are careful to use the correct words when Marzipan raids your planet

Drukhari and Asuryani (and Aeldari) are specifically the names of the groups/race in their own language
Eldar (and its variations) is still what is said in low gothic
On a meta level, it's only really used on official product names and the such, because it allows them to associate the aesthetics to a copyrightable name. To my understanding the other terms are still used all the time in novels and codices.

No tau waifu, no buy
Get fucked Owlcat
