Xbox was easily the best one.

Now that the children have ordered, what will the adults be having?

Playstation 2. Fat.

1,000+ games of shovelware

nah

yeah i could play halo and... uh... perfect dark.... and....

Nintendo ShitCube

best at anything

It had no games.

for free

chinatown will only mod ur ps2, there was nothing for gamecubes

retard spotted

Real Americans know it had the best games. PS2 is for poor thirdworlders.

ps2 also had good games

The Gamecube, GBA, the Nintendo DS, and the Wii out of NOWHERE

Oh, it's this autist.
For anyone wondering, this guy has been doing this shtick for months. He will keep creating threads trying to convince that nobody bought a PS2 for games. He got bullied in school for owning a Gamecube, so I assume where that's where this autistic hatred comes from.

Actually I'm white and from a white area, we all had the Gamecube.

I'd take Dreamcast, Xbox and of course PS2 over this thing. GC's library was barren and its exclusives weak.

Shit Cube had 650 games

PS3 (which Anon Babble for years said had no games) had over 2000 titles

The console was mid at best. A few decent titles, and not much more. GC was not a great console.

Sony consoles are designated shovelware shitting consoles and movie machines. The PS3 in fact had no games.

had 3 games

all mediocre

Only molesters rank GameCube too high. Is the shittiest of its gen, Xbox mogged it, Dreamcast is the beloved one and PS2 the eternal King.

PS2

Quantity to find at least a few game you will like regardless

Xbox

Best version of any multiplatform games but only a handful of solid Originals.

Gamecube

Nintendo's experimental era, an acquired taste that if one grew up with they will defend to their dying day. Otherwise its just offbrand Nintendo.

Dreamcast

Who?

all 3 were equally good
7th 360 was best
then ps3
wii only good for hacking lol
ps4 was the best 8th but it sucks ass
9th gen all suck
i guess ps5s cool for playing ps4 games at 60 fps
all i used it for

Cubesissies always seem to have troubled childhoods. Makes you wonder if owning a PS2 could've helped them.

I don't believe cube kids chose the console, I think it was chosen for them by uninformed parents who recognized Mario.

It was extremely important in retrospect because of smash. Smash acts as a containment community for groomers and bathelets

I love the gamecube! My bf and used to play it as kids. Now my bf is my wife and my gamecube always reminds me of her.

I just like the gamecube

fucking burnout 3, BURNOUT 3

mentions two games that only normies care about

The Xbox had Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden, games for REAL anons.

PS2: best overall library, at least a few 3/5+ for every genre even some niche stuff
GC: best multiplayer games with fantastic skill ceilings and replayability
XBOX: best online, pound-for-pound the most hidden gems and unexpected surprises
DC and GBA were also fantastic, we didn't know how good we had it bros...

best multiplayer games

Nah, far from it.

You could give the nod to XBox IMO with some fantastic shooters and online play but comp ceiling for F-Zero GX and Melee are insane and still boggle my mind to this day.

I begged my parents for one. My dad was legitimately confused as to why I didn't want the PS2. My parents fucking knew I was probably making a mistake. They still got me the Gamecube and I got it with Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 and Luigi's Mansion. I ended up playing THPS3 more, but it did look better than the PS2 version and loaded better too. Gamecube also had the best version of Soul Calibur II because of Link being the guest character. It had the best versions of RE4, Killer 7, and Viewtiful Joe in terms of visuals and loading times. It even had Sonic Adventure.

All that said, it really sucked at the time that I couldn't get San Andreas and had to settle with Simpson's Hit and Run. Also didn't like how almost no fighting games except CvS 2: EO came to it. Melee was a lot of fun and since I came from playing the 64 version, it was like playing Smash at 100x the speed sometimes (which honestly I liked the slower pace a bit more, but it wasn't a bad tradeoff). But that wasn't enough when the others were getting Tekken, DoA, KoF, Budokai 3 and others. Also, no Burnout 3 really sucked (thanks to the Gamecube's gimped, mini disc thing) since I REALLY wanted that. That, and it seemed like Gamecube was really damn good at getting these games like Animal Crossing, Billy Hatcher, Tak and the Power of Juju, and a bunch of other games that seemed built for children and young girls. It also let me down hard after I played Sunshine coming from Mario 64. Wind Waker was a let down too. Mario Kart had this strong change in tone from MK64 that I also didn't care for (and the persists to this day). Almost forgot to mention the others got Guitar Hero and Gamecube got Donkey Konga. Then came talking with friends and having everyone either playing Halo 2 or GTA and I come up with Metroid Prime 2.

Gamecube was fine, but I would have been much better off with an Xbox or PS2 (and I hated Sony, so it would have been Xbox)

I mostly agree, except with the cube part.

GC: best multiplayer games

It only has Melee and that is it.

with fantastic skill ceilings and replayability

Is looking for blue coins a fantastic replayability? F-Zero GX is great but you gotta be a hyper functional autistic mofo to beat it.

Xbox had better co-op and to this day its online is active. Halo 2 had 4 player split-screen online. That's madness. Taking 4 of your buddies on the same couch to play against 12 other people.

Fuck no.
The one with the most polished emulation, but best?
Absofuckinglutely not

ps2 > xbox > shitcube > sega consoles lmao

I loved all 6th gen gaming devices. Dreamcast, PS2, GameCube, Xbox, and PC. That generation was incredible.

No. Best for multiplayer maybe?? The best games on the system are comparable to the best of whats on the ps2 but... even taking into consideration the shovelware bloating the catalogue, the numbwr of classic games on ps2 way out number gamecube games.

As a gamecube fan i gotta say stfu man, youre just making the system and its fans look bad

Melee, DD, I go fucking crazy for Air Ride but it's not everyone's cup of tea, GX, maybe I should change it to best multiplayer racing. Also had solid multiplats like Timesplitters (although XBox did it better).

blue coins

Was specifically talking about multiplayer games. Sunshine's good tho. I would've said best platformers but PS2 had Jak/Sly/R&C trifecta and there were some solid platformer multiplats like Vexx.

I also forgot the GBA, that was the shit.

No you don't, you idort

I'll admit my Halo games were all LAN parties, didn't know about 4-player co-op online. Actually insane for the era (or really, how bad things have backslid)

Then came talking with friends and having everyone either playing Halo 2 or GTA and I come up with Metroid Prime 2.

You got the better game by far though.

You can play it online right now like that on the Original Xbox. Smash Melee only held relevance because Nintendo fumbled smash bros games twice.

You got the better game by far though.

20 years later and you still coping.

Smash Melee only held relevance because Nintendo fumbled smash bros games twice.

Eh, more that it has an entire parasitic presence in all videohosting websites used by gamers and decades of astroturfing.
Brawl was a better game, tripping was mostly irrelevant if you weren't a retard doing dash dance shit, and then Smash For let retards do that shit again.
It's especially retarded given how prevalent the brawl modding scene is so you could just remove tripping.

I miss the new plastic smell these things had.

Three times (but who's counting). Smash under HAL Labs was a different beast. It's a polarizing title though, I get it, hence why you get dogshit takes like

you get dogshit takes like

I fucking defy you to actually make the claim the melee scene is organic and not one of the shittiest forced memes on the internet.

The PS2 literally has some of these games.

And they're worse, like all ports to Sony hardware.

Lol Nintendo tried to shut down Melee at EVO and only backed off over everyone yelled at them. How is that not organic, grassroots support when you literally have to fight the publisher? I have mucho respect for it and scenes like Third Strike who hopped off the corporate-approved latest title and just play whatever the fuck they want

Your thread flopped. Seems like the PS2 won.

I had a PS2 and a Gamecube and I used the PS2 a lot more. Both for games and to play DVDs. Gamecube kinda collected dust when I wasn't playing Melee (which was a lot of fun albeit).

it was best at being the scarlet letter of bad taste
anyone that praises a gamecube release you can disregard the opinions of for the rest of their life

I liked it cause it was cube

Not enough wigger simulators for you I see. The Gamecube's ever-present whiteness causes the inferiors to seethe yet again.

Post hand

the ps2 had the shittier version of a few of these games*

Fat PS2 was best, but when you visited a friend it was because they had a Gamecube

Who told you people to all start singing this song? It still has an incredible amount of great games to play.

Not really. While I do like Prime 2 for the music (Torvus Bog's Catacombs that was the remake of Lower Brinstar's song was phenomenal), I can never get past the first few hours on Prime 2 without wanting to turn the game off for months and months to go do something else instead. Same with Prime 1. I beat both of the games when I got them on Gamecube, but I have to force myself to finish both games on new saves. I apparently liked Prime 1 and 2 as visual showcases for what the Gamecube could do power wise, but actually playing the Prime games isn't fun for me to do after getting through the initial playthrough.

because of Link being the guest character

Every fucking time, lmao.

Spanking Ivy and Taki is worth every singly penny

it was literally the only one that had games

PS2 and Xbox had plenty of games, it just so happened that PS2 was a box of magic that Xbox couldn't emulate.

Yeah Xbox was a banger frfr. PlayStation 2 games looked like shit and we’re garbage 9/10 times but Xbox games were always good. I can say without a doubt that the Xbox has always been better than the Chinkstation
But the Dreamcast was the best one

box of magic

*Japanese third-parties

The Xbox was great except his had jackshit in terms of JRPGs which they explicitly addressed during the 7th gen, otherwise it had Kotor era Bioware and Morrowind.

To be fair, you can't beat Link in Soul Calibur. If they tried to throw Mario or Fox in there it obviously wouldn't have made since or worked out at all. Plus Sony really didn't (and still doesn't) have a 1st party character that would "fit" in Soul Calibur. I'd bet Yoshimitsu WOULD have been the guest character if he weren't already in the roster. Same with Xbox that had legitimately nothing but Master Chief to play on. I still don't know why Spawn ended up being the choice there, though.

Sony really didn't (and still doesn't) have a 1st party character that would "fit" in Soul Calibur.

It should have been this dude

there are people here who aren't idorts

I am ashamed that people wouldn't enjoy the Armored Core series, then follow it up with some Metroid Prime, Wind Waker, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, and various multiplats that the consoles shared, be it Star Wars: The Clone Wars, or Robotech.

I still don't know why Spawn ended up being the choice there, though.

Microsoft were still resisting Master Chief being the face of Xbox at the time and Todd McFarlane already designed a special character across all console ports (Necrid).

The console is bad because it has bad games on it that I don't need to buy or pay for!!!

Never noticed it look like a winking koala.

Plus Sony really didn't (and still doesn't) have a 1st party character that would "fit" in Soul Calibur.

The ghost of Tsushima guy would fit in fine, Kratos would also work if they want more bombastic presence. At the time they could have had Sir Daniel or even Dart from Legend of Dragoon.
