Is Warhammer the most consistently good franchise when it comes to videogames? Feels like there have pretty much only been bangers recently

Warhammer.png - 3840x3429, 820.98K

Not really. There is a lot of garbage to mediocre games that use the license. Stuff like Fire Warrior or Space Hulk: Deathwing.

Fire Warrior was good when it came out though

cherry picking this hard

dumb plastic huffing golem
don't you have 30K Funko Pops to collect?

No, it was panned on release as well.

Critic scores matter

Was your post trying to imply critics are wrong? Because the image goes against your argument.

For every good warhammer game there's 25 that are complete garbage because GW gives the rights in a happy meal. lt's not "consistently good" in any way, rather you only hear of the good ones

because GW gives the rights in a happy meal

It's weird, because I've e-mailed some developers about this in the past. I asked them like, whether they were licensed or if they approached GW to use the license, and how much creative control they have, and the response was generally that GW will actually go through a decent amount of meetings to iron out the concept before handing out the license, and then are usually over their shoulder a decent bit in order to make sure the depictions are in-line with what they wanna allow for the franchise. Something like Shootas Blood and Teef was apparently pretty watched over.

no, you're just not seeing the dozens of trash games. GW give their IP out like candy and just let the good ones float to the top which is in my opinion a great way to handle it.

that IS handing it out easily. The latter parts are just to make sure it 'feels' correct and isn't glaringly wrong and also that you don't have a space marine saying nigger

Redite is that way

carefully vetting out developers and their concepts before taking an active hand in its development is handing it out like candy

Okie dokie smokey

Fire Warrior was good when it came out though

there's like 40 games workshop IP games. How many licenced Mass Effect universe games are there.
like it or not the truth of the matter is that GW are far more willing to lend out their IP to an astonishing degree than any other IP to the point of even allowing indie teams to do it

How many licenced Mass Effect universe games are there

You're comparing to a video game company that doesn't want to license out their IP so that other people can directly compete with their main focus. You're in the weeds.

Is Warhammer the most consistently good franchise when it comes to video games?

No, Lego is

Only 2 of those games had anything redeeming (it was the sound track), overall all of these games fucking sucked.

Dakka squadron was SHIT

lol no, you’re just able to ignore the glut of bad ones because they’re all mobile shovelware.
Besides including fucking Dawn of War when the last acceptable release for it came out in 2011 is absurd.
There are a few decent to good games. None of them are as good as TWW or Vermintide 2 though.

ME

No one make’s licensed ME games because no one would play them

If you think DoW1 and Mechanicus suck then you’re a complete retard

Shogun 2 alone is better than any iteration of tww

mechcum

Yeah it’s kinda dogshit. It has some cool presentations but it’s not really an engaging game.

dow 1

it’s funny how little good rts games are out there. This one, is sadly not in the camp of the good ones.

spearmanii, slant-eye edition

lol

Yeah it’s kinda dogshit. It has some cool presentations but it’s not really an engaging game.

Attention span of a zoomer I see

This is bait, but I’m not surprised given most of the great RTS games came out long before you were born

Nope. For every good game there has probably been between 3 to 5 terrible games.

Freeblade: phone arcade shooter

Spacewolf: shitty attempt at making a chaos gate game with cards. ALSO mobile

Deathwatch: buggy strategy about the deathwatch killing nids

Dark Angels game plays as PvZ but worse, and nobody likes because it has as much DLC as a paradox game

That one shitty mobile game set in 30k i can't remember anymore (probably EoS)

That one shitty idle base building game where Girlyman gets lost in space with a qt goth mechanicum girl (EoS)

AT LEAST 5 different vydia cardgames

Fire warrior

Regicide. Chess.

Eternal Crusade (EoS)

Dark Nexus (EoS) pretty much W40K League of Legends

There is probably even shittier games i have no idea of, and these are only some of the few that i know and can say for certain they were dogshit.
Its cool that we finally have some good games, but don't forget the pile of trash was spawned due to gw just handing out the license to any chinaman that asks as long as they pay the 20 bucks for it.

iMPI77xg.png - 728x819, 771.01K

Look man, there’s a reason why they gave those games away free like multiple times. It’s all style and no substance, that’s all the games have.

>>>>>>wegs

The new logo is so shit

wh40k is based because they released 2-3 good games in 5 years

do tertiaries really? there is a new warhammer indie shovelware title released every month. the ratio of dogshit shovelware titles to good games is 100:1

art i'd describe as 'disposable'

Can your cavalry dismount yet? Is path finding fixed yet? Does the game have any idea what good level design looks like? Is the player engaged enough to continue beyond turn 35+?

as opposed to spearmanii but lizard/elf/dwarf edition

midhammer

It would be nice to know exactly how Firewarrior managed to go so wrong. Like whether it was actual developer incompetence or them getting hamstrung trying to put it onto consoles that simply couldn't handle it yet.

The only good games are Dawn of War 1-2, Space Marine 1-2, Battlefleet Gothic, Boltgun 1-2 and Total War: Warhammer 1-3

The rest are dogshit

Man I know you haven’t even played any of those games, I also think it’s funny how you said bolt gun 2 even though the games not even out yet kek.

DoW1 is shit just for the cultist voicelines alone

Yes, Lord? Whatever you desire

I had a lot of fun with eternal crusade. Shame they shut it down
