Is the 4060 Ti the sweet spot for 1080p gaming?

8GB vram version yes.

not when it costs 500 dollars

I just upgraded from a GTX 1070 to an RX 6700 XT, what game should I play to test it

Why? 970 was cost 399.

The sweet spot for 1080p gaming is a card that can do 1440p because supersampling massively, MASSIVELY improves the image resolve you end up getting

the sweet spot for 1080p is 1440p

329

Yes that's right. TAA or the alternative Temporal Upscaling solutions like DLSS and FSR are horrible at 1080p resolution.

The 5070 is.

who the hell knows what kind of game you even like?

Looks good to me. Show me a 1080p jpg from a 10 year old game.

the 970 was 330 and didn't limit your Vram so you had to pay double for 1440p.

2023 card targeting 1080p

this feels wrong
it shouldn't be like this

4060 is legit dogshit
ti is just baking soda slapped on top of it but it still stinks

doesn't give any reason as to why, just says it

GTX1080 or bust

Given objectively going above 1080p is only for huge (80"+) screens why would a mid range gpu be targeting resolutions only used in advertising billboards or cinema?

Welcome to the internet where thing I don't like is dogshit and can not possibly be anything else but. Enjoy your dogshit stay. (I don't know a single other adjective)

maybe but you can't buy one

any card with an 8gb variant past 2020 is trash
dogshit post fuck you bitch

I think it's the 4070 actually. Hear me out. It's gonna do every game that you throw at it at 1080p with half the GPU to spare most of the time. Well, why wouldn't you want to use all your GPU? You paid for it.

you can undervolt if you want

even without that, only using half the GPU has its benefits in terms of longevity and ambient temperature

the card is silent while gaming like this

This, plus the non-gimped memory bus, and the 12GB of VRAM (in my experience, 1080p gaming only uses 6-8 gigs of the stuff), all on a single 8-pin power connector, is pretty magical stuff. Of course, if you can get a 4070ti Super, or better yet, a 9070XT, then go for it, but I don't think you should settle for the 4060ti, you should get at least a 4070 for 1080p gaming.

I watched videos of some fat fucks talking about VRAM and now I am here to educate you all on it

Great, you're one of those.

shut up nigger, I'm not buying your ewaste

Nobody asked you to.

I-I don't care B-BAKA

Shut up bitch, your card will rust on ebay for an eternity

This, except 5070. Talk me out of buying it.

You just barge in and go haha fucking poor people.

No, I wouldn't make fun of people for getting an rx 570 or 580 1060 3gb back then but this card is trash at any price.

Truly Rubbish

1080p

Man I remember playing ridge racer 7 at that resolution nearly 20 years ago. It is crazy how Anon Babble is made up of people who still use it today.

half bus width of predecessor

x8 lane in this environment

1080p card when previous gen equiv was 1440p

higher msrp but no perks to go with it

gimped because it's actually a 3060 with a ti slapped onto it and less vram

the greatest winners scam the hardest

losing to the fucking 3060ti in a LOT of cases even

truly the retarded card of that gen if any had to be called one.
This was a 4050 being called a ti card

2025

1080p gaming

No 40 series card holds any weight except the 4080 and 4090
The rest is cut down retardation for the uneducated retards who are getting dicked by scalpers today because they were also uneducated in the past.

Resolution: 1920x1080

Texture Resolution: Medium

Fake Frames: On

It's gaming time!

The cool thing is that people are using upscaling half the time so they're not even running at native 1080p. We've actually gone back to the Xbox 360/PS3 experience.

x8 lane in this environment

That is the real killer.

it is genuinely unreal to see people stuck so far in the past either due to being actually poor as fuck or some troglodyte-tier belief like "1080p is all you need bro! the human eye can't see more than 24 fps!" these people deserve to be in the hole they dug for themselves.

Native ps3 and 360 is way less offensive through hdmi on my monitor.
Probably because that was still an era where translucency wasn't grainy dogshit yet

Anyone who bought this card deserves all the being made fun of they get much like 5070
That thing has so many returns already

Here's a 4080S at 1080p. I play at 1080p upscaled to 4K, looks great on a 27" screen with HDR.

It is the rise of the poorfags who have pushed the toasters out of Anon Babble. The toaster user knows their system is old and outdated but never stops dreaming about building that super computer - they accept what they have and play games that work on it and/or go down the rabbit hole of overclocking to stretch their machine further. They know a better experience can be had, if if they cannot do so. Often toasty users will be heavily into modding to better tune their experience as well.

The poorfag however is the group of which you speak. They see higher resolutions, framerates, more powerful hardware and instead of going "man that would be cool" it is a, instant, visceral and violent reaction of shit like (as you say) human eye can't see past 1080p, nobody can see more than 60hz, hardware transform & lighting is a scam etc etc. They don't want to acknowledge they aren't sitting at the top of the hill so they seek to drag others down with them.

grainy dogshit
6000 series can't come soon enough and 9090 xt for that matter

file.png - 423x289, 162.35K

Used 3080 > 4060

damn I love vaseline

b770 soon intelxesters

that's just a couple square inches on my monitor, it looks fine in 4K

They don't want to acknowledge they aren't sitting at the top of the hill so they seek to drag others down with them.

Anon Babble in a nutshell

I just don't want to go above 1080p because refresh rates take priority. Maybe the next time I get a new graphics card it'll be good enough for me to take the jump to a higher resolution monitor but not right now.

It's about the dimensions. 24 fits on your desk and 1080p is what works on it.

Higher pixel density is going to look better. Bigger screens need high ppi to not look bad but when you have a 24" monitor it's just going to look a lot better.

looks gr8. some things u simply cant fix like the hair if u can even notice it. the hair didnt even look good in the trailers and the prerendered cutscenes

4k on a 32 inch screen still has a higher pixel density than 24" 1080p. and are you saying your desk is too small for a slightly larger monitor? what the fuck? do you live in a closet?

The human eye can't see past 96ppi.

Buying RTX 40 when RTX 50 has GDDR7 448GB/s of delicious memory bandwidth

you must get the new thing because old thing is old

I will keep gaming happily at 1080p while you spend your third mortgage on a 5090ti ultra deluxe super and knuckles setup just to squeeze 10 more fps out of the current slop that's out.

these people deserve to be in the hole they dug for themselves

lmao do you even listen to yourself lil bro

xx60s

what's wrong with you

All for a 4% uplift!

I just fake 4k on my 1440p monitor with dsr thobeit, it's the same thing.

we arent talking about 70's class cards

HDR is still a meme right?

Sadly yes.

Because I play video games and when the monitor is larger than 24" I performed worse even after 3 months of trying. Yes the human eye can move and the full field of view is quite wide but the area that it can actually focus on is not wide at all.

Good - I don't think I could handle more than 100 nits and 70% srgb.

nice try poorfag but i have a 1080ti and and 1440p 165hz monitor and the upgrade from a 780ti/60hz monitor was night and day. but, tell yourself whatever you need to cope with living like a brazilian.

Remember: the one part of gaming that you always look at - the screen - is the part you should ALWAYS, NO EXCEPTIONS go cheap for. Expensive displays are a scam.

buying a 60 class card ever

no, sorry i'm not a faggot. Its not even a matter of hurr dont be poor. Literally just save up for another month or two and get something thats not the entry level garbage tier.

Ok, I almost got baited by that. 2/10

don't care what blind retards say looks ok.

bigger and more expensive means better

bait

Anon, just read this very thread. It is objectively clear that nobody needs or wants some meme-tier display that is just marketing buzzwords (lmao suuuuuuuure its 1ms GTG) that doesn't actually do anything that established, battle proven panels don't already so. If - IF - these "features" mattered they would've been adopted decades ago but lo and behold they haven't. When the only way ti show these supposed differences are highly curated scenarios that have no basis to real world usage you know it is just consoomerism run rampant.

bait

For me, it's a 4070ti. Its still a tad expensive, but you dont need anything more powerful than this gpu

1ms GTG

I miss when monitors were measured in Black to Black and not grey to grey

You usually find better response times from smaller monitors anyway. There's people still using those Zowie TN panels for a reason.

4070 super

1080p

no upscaling

no fake frames

yep it's gaymen as God intended it

Given LCDs can't actually hit black it is an irrelevant metric.

buy nvidia product

don't use nvidia features like it's some kind of feat

Why didn't you just buy AMD for less? The point IS the software suite.

he buyinged boughted boughtened planned ebolasense 12 gpu vram gb gaming videocard

ngmi.

Even 3060 Ti getting 60 fps ultra on that is pretty good.

me when I boughtened 8GB 5 years ago

So when is this planned ebolasense supposed to happen?

Shame we're not ready to go above 1080p as higher resolutions are impossible to run well. c'est la vie

This, I'm getting a 4070ti and calling it a day. I only ran into issues running new games this year with my 1660, though. That card has put in WORK over the years.

Ebolasense happened 5 years ago my friend, 5 years ago...

The 3060ti is still the king

I have a ryzen 5600g and buy a 5070 for play at 1080p.

I aspire to tell people not to be poor

all while I stick to a card that's nearly ten years old

but that's okay, because my desktop refresh rate is nice and smooth!

You moronic troglodyte. You don't even know what you're arguing for. Do not reply to me anymore. You lost the right. Retard.

play at 1080p

You are cucking yourself hard.
One day you will try 4k and think 'omg why didn't I do this earlier?'

At that point just buy a 1440p monitor, they are cheap.

We had a higher res monitor in the 2000s. 1080 is poverty tier in current year unless you’re running 500hz.

maybe one day when hardware can run resolutions that high without upscaling

'omg why didn't I do this earlier?'

Said nobody ever.

4K is fine for a TV in your living room, but overkill for a monitor you're sitting 3 feet away from.
1080 is fine for monitors smaller than 27", while 1440 is fine for just about any other monitor.

first off, the 1080ti is the absolute GOAT and there hasn't been one single game or emulator (heavily modded or otherwise) i haven't been able to run flawlessly.
second, there hasn't been a single game worth upgrading for. and thirdly, modern games are so notoriously shittily optamised even the latest and greatest 5090 (which have been scandal after scandal, missing ROPS, power plugs melting, missing performance) can barely run them. now go back to seething impotently while playing HOI4 on your shitty office monitor from 2011 you actual retard.

Nobody actually played at those resolutions at the time though. Not unless 27fps was acceptable

It was acceptable because I didn’t know any better.

1200p, home.

'omg why didn't I do this earlier

im broke.gif - 498x374, 64.83K

Show me a 1080p jpg from a 10 year old game.

k
You'll have to excuse the slightly higher resolution, even a fucking decade ago I was playing at higher res than 1080p.

Here's one downscaled from 4K to 1080P

And here it is in 4K, it looks good on a 27" screen. Images are HDR>SDR converted.

Screenshot.jpg - 3840x2160, 3.79M

Proof that normies don't mind the blur. Chromatic aberration up the wazoo too.

inb4 faggots who say the top one looks better

make sure you buy the 8gb version
that's all you people deserve

They literally look the same anon. Open them in same size window and don't zoom in.

Yes, green text improves (You)s received by 100%.

the point is they're raping us by making the gpus more expansive without real upgrade

More power = more frames = more graphics.

I can still see the difference, the image is still sharper with 4k screenshot.
Not as big of a difference clearly but it's there he should also post "native" 1080p.

my 560ti from 2012 was supposed to be a good 1080p card.
How are we still struggling with this resolution 13 years later?

Sure you can buddy.

Nvidia only sells garbage. There is no sweet spot available.

For me, it's RX 9070 XT

buying nvidia on any tier below the 5090 is mental retardation
the 60 and 60 ti class have been shrinkflated because that's the normie tier

Nice try lisa

it's true
nvidia is trying their best to minimise the gains on the normie cards

Buying a 5090 is also mental retardation.

Tell me straight with no exaggerations.
How long will 12GB VRAM last for 1080p?

given that 16 is fine for 4k in 99% of cases you'll be fine until the gpu die itself becomes irrelevant

4k in gaming is a meme. Especially now with gaytracing and unoptimised games.

right...

Untitled.png - 952x896, 117.07K

The second games start skipping the ps5 for the ps6 you'll have a brick on your hands. Ps6 in 2027/2028 btw.

Well shit. What about 16GB?

4k is more relevant than ever with awful temporal rendering meaning games need more data from the previous frame, otherwise they end up looking blurrier at 1440p than a 1080p game from 2012.

Same fate. None of the cards out right now have any legs.

Reminder for you all you 1080p bros to not cheap out on your CPU. All these new gay ass games require a strong CPU and that CPU will help you out tremendously. Sure, the GPU's important, but holy shit do not be cheap with your CPU if you're specifically playing at 1080p.

Jesus, I guess Ill get 5070 and then something new in 2027.

Ryzen 7500F is ~125€ for a entry level build I would say it's a good CPU.

tendie style response

Bro, tell me straight. i5 12400. Am I cooked?

I don't know what that means but it's pretty clear that most people still are fine without big amounts of vram.

my reply wasn't about vram you tech illiterate tard
look at the core counts of the normie gpus and then compare them to the flagships
you legitimately wouldn't know those are supposed to be different generations based on those while the flagships keep seeing big gains

People buy these things to play games not to count cores.

and the generational performance gains on those cards are lower than ever
all the gains are in the 80 and 90 class cards
what's your point retard

should be fine for 60 fps

If the benchmark shows same fps as amd they just buy nvidia and pay the premium dlss tax.

It's fine in most games, the only thing you'd see dips on are a lot of modern AAA games. I was using a 12400 before swapping to a 14600 because I kept wanting to play newer games and the FPS was incredibly inconsistent. You should just test it out on some new games and see if you're comfortable with the performance you get.

laughs in 144hz benq ips 24"

this is the way

Where do I fall with a 4070 ti super?

A really good spot I think. It's a good middle ground between all the other shitty GPUs right now and it's strong for 1080p and 1440p right now. I dunno I'm not really the biggest expert but I think the overall value for the card is really solid if you're not using 4K.

4k is more relevant than ever

shalom
anything above 1440p is a meme designed to get you to keep buying $2000 GPUs
