Bloodborne

I just beat the game. What did I think of it?

you're shitting yourself

you thought the Victorian thing was cool in the first area but afte that it gets mogged by darks souls 3

shadman

you did not beat it

You didn't beat the game.

bet OP didn't expect all these reddit replies

Mid
snoys were huffing something

I don't like how all your damage mitigation comes from leveling up. Armors are fundamentally pointless.
Also might be because of the 60fps patch but there's so many times where you get hit by a string of attack and can't roll out of it getting combo'd to death.

the sloppiest of sloppas that snoys hyped up because it’s “le hard!!1” (it’s not).
It’s shit.

I'm playing it right now. It's by far the best one. I wish the runes and gem system were a little more fleshed out, but that's it

You thought it was a good game but you're still a little mad about how 95% of the items you saw as glowing lights on bodies and had to figure out how to get to turned out to be consumables and you don't understand how From fumbled this part so badly.

I thought the areas were varied enough. If anything it's the quality of the bossfight that takes nosedive once I got to the blood starved beast.

ye I feel bad for the people that bought a ps4 just for this

Dark Souls 3 doesn't do "the Victorian thing".
You're thinking of Gothic architecture, which Bloodborne still did better.

Armors are fundamentally pointless

it's called Fashion you hylic beast

Armours are for mitigating the effects of various statuses: the Charred Hunter set has the highest fire negation; the Ashen Hunter set has the highest Frenzy resist, etc.
Armour is for mitigating damage, and Miyazaki purposefully made the only shield in the (base) game into basically a joke to tell you that you're supposed to be dodging, and using the rally mechanic when hit to recover HP.
Bloodborne was designed around speeding up the combat interactions which were slow and plodding in Dark Souls.

What.

*heavy armour is for mitigating damage.
There's a reason all of the "armour" in Bloodborne is coats and robes.
FromSoft continued the design philosophy of Bloodborne with Sekiro, where you're supposed to be in enemies' faces at all times, either attacking or deflecting.

How's the emulation coming along? Did they fix the vertex explosions or whatever it was called?

Remember how finding new items in DaS and DS2 was exciting because you never knew what it was going to be like a new weapon or armor or some cool ring or maybe just souls but in Bloodborne it was almost always going to be ammunition or blood?

I had issues with rally where you lose 70% of your health in one hit and get sent flying and the enemies is readying up another attack to rape you while you're still on the ground and by the time you get the initiative back the temp health disappeared and you've got use a blood vial. And even then rally recovery isn't high enough in general, like I just beat moon presence and it has a move where all your health gets converted to temp and whacking on it non-stop until my stamina drains for 6 seconds is not enough to get more than half hp back.
Maybe a bunch of mechanics escaped me. Halfway through the game I stopped experimenting.

I used the mod to stop explosions and while it works alright after an hour of play it still happens or so, and randomy crashes being annoying usually one every two hours or so because of blood effects or a cutscene trigger.
Otherwise performance wise it's pretty heavy on the GPU where my 4080 was at 60% usage to run the game at 60fps @ 1080p, so not strong enough for 1440p which is my monitor resolution.

mid and grossly overrated by snoys
it's just another fromsoft game if you played one you've played them all

That Moon Presence issue sounds like an issue either your runes. We're you using the Clockwise and Anticlockwise Metamorphosis runes?
There's also a rune that boosts your rally potential, but it's not best in slot.

From memory my runes were +15%, 12%, 12% phys damage or something using the ludwig sword in 1h mode and my "stat sheet" dmg was around 590. The boss was taking damage okay it just my recovery being not as much as I'd wanted it to be. I ran through the nightmare of mensis level to grind 4-5 levels total to boost my defense and I did the fight with like 5% phys + 4% all damage reduction for the caryll runes.
Honestly feels like I'm playing the game wrong where I'm meant to grind chalice or something to get a power spike somewhere in the game.

Oh, there's the problem.
Use HP and stamina runes.
Don't level Endurance at all, you don't need to, no memeing.

Had to get that last post in quick to bump the thread from page 10.
Don't level Endurance: stacking the Anticlockwise Metamorphosis runes that you get just from playing the story is more than you'll need.
If you know what weapon you want to use, and when you'll be getting it you can build around that.
If you're going for a high Dex build that uses the Blades of Mercy, then you can just vit gouge early and use the Saw Cleaver until mid game (the transformation attack on that weapon can carry you through the entire game).
There's also no need to grind Chalice dungeons (although they're worth doing): you can farm great cursed gems in the Nightmare of Mensis in an afternoon.
If I were starting a brand new run right now, I'd pick the class that best aligns with my chosen weapon, pick up the Saw Cleaver (or whateveryou like, really), level Vigour to about 25 or 30 before focusing on levelling my damage stats (upgrading the weapon is sufficient to increase your damage for a good while) and then continue through the game as normal, doing Chalice Dungeons on the side for materials, levels and fun.
The Winter Lanterns in the Nightmare of Mensis can be easily farmed with item discovery runes equipped, and then again towards the end of the DLC.
None of this is intuitive, I understand, but that's the benefit of experience.

you're better than me, i got bored after getting to the dlc and deleted it

rally recovery isn't high enough in general

I agree, it should've been stronger, but it's worth knowing that every weapon has a different rally modifier, it's not just a flat conversion of damage to health. Big smashy weapons recover way more HP than small fast weapons. The rune from Ludwig also makes it way stronger and seems to increase the time you have to rally.

There's been a fix for that since literally day 1. Did you get filtered by dragging and dropping a file?

Is it fully playable on emulator?

No online but yeah. Some bugs but you can finish the game. I reckon in a year it'll play perfect.

While we're at it, guys, what's up? Jump attack and just jumping doesn't work.

Did you get filtered by dragging and dropping a file?

No I played the game on PS4 already so I'm waiting until it's perfect to replay it.

I tried 5 times to do this jump and gave up lol. It keeps sliding off. There's an other part later on where you have to roll out of an elevator through a window and it took me another 5 attemps to get through.

make sure you play the dlc, it's the best part of the game

why is the plat so tedious
why is the defiled dungeon so hard when the queen is piss easy

It was ok, first area and the dlc's last two areas were the highlights of the game which is... Not very good.
Fun weapons and some cool areas but the game starts falling apart very fast after Amelia.
Both dream frontiers were super shit and boring as fuck.

game setting is victorian london-esque

all the hunters wear tricorns, which is Edwardian fashion

Hackyizaki

that area where enemy's constantly respawn is dogshit and ruined the game for me

that it runs so much better on PC it's not even funny

It's almost like it's not set in the real world, what with its fake cities, histories, superhuman dimension-hopping werewolf hunters and mind-bending higher forms of life.

Jumping out of an elevator on the fly sounds quite simple, and this moment defies logic.
Well, is it normal that by this point I only have 3 weapons in my inventory?

I think there's like 2 weapons you can find in the actual game? Everything else I had to buy

I played it on PS4 too, the emulated version has been superior since about last December.
60fps + instant load times + ultrawide support + mod support at the cost of having to install a few hotfixes and restarting the game once every 3 hours to get around the memory leak is a good trade to me.

Try switching to 30fps, falling in these games doesn't use delta time so you fall faster at 60fps. Same shit since Dark Souls 1. It's a low tier blood gem so I just skip it on my emulated replays.

Most of the weapons in the game are purchased, not found. You get badges and those unlock more items at the vendor in the dream.

I finished the game using the starting weapon and the armor set from the sewers so yeah this game suffers from very little variety in both of those
