No. It's like the original Switch in that it stores save data and update data in the internal storage if there's no SD card, but this time it has plenty of internal storage (by Nintendo standards): 256 GB. As someone who loves the original CTR, this is false. Driving became way more complex since USF doesn't die with boosting and U-Turns, so performing decent on most tracks now require way more precision and good knowledge of what you're doing. The hardest shit you can do in OG CTR are unintended shortcuts like the Hot Air Skyway one or the Oxide Station, but USF management has been already solved. I honestly don't know if speedghosts are the same in the new game though.

Problem is, once you learn HOW to play CTR, you can't play it like a KART RACER anymore. You are constantly boosting because if you aren't, you lose because there is no blue shell in that game.

There's no strategy involved at all in CTR:NF, it's pure muscle memory of the courses. You might as well play time trials as once you figure out the fastest route through the courses as nobody has a chance of ever catching up with you. Not saying that Mariokart is the pinnacle of strategy either, but even MK has some strategy involved when playing against skilled players (bagging being a good example of this)

No shit it'd be boring, all you do with a car is fucking drive. Compare it to the previous Nintendo launch title, Breath of the Wild. In that you can gather resources, hunt animals, climb, fight monsters, talk to NPCs, and solve puzzles. It wasn't perfect, but as THE game to get lost in for a month or two and sell your new console, it did a perfect job of feeling new and exciting. This is JUST Mario Kart, but sometimes you drive through rings with a time limit.

See the drop off from oot to mm or phantom hourglass to spirit tracks. Even looking at twilight princess on the wii to skyward sword on the wii, there's a considerable drop. The second Zelda game on a given system almost never does as well as the first.

That movie just had horrible voice acting in general. Basically nobody fit the character, and some voices like Funky Kong were just wretched to listen to. ToTK I think is the only one thats broken 20 million sold and even it was a big decline (though it may not be as crazy as you note). Other examples would be Spider Man 1 selling 20 million and the second one selling 10 million, or MHWorld selling over 20 million while Wild is at 10 million and declining. This also says nothing for the games that completely flopped, Doom being the most notable as it can't really be blamed on woke slop like other games. The last games that did over 20 million other than ToTK were $60 or less: Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, and Palworld. Point is that Nintendo might be shocked that the "normal consumer" doesn't come out for Switch 2 games like they did with Switch 1. Sony has had this exact same issue

Yeah, but you can easily make that fun, and open world driving games have addressed this issue. Hell, the first Forza Horizon did a lot to keep traveling around active. The map was littered with things like Speed Zones and Speed Traps that turned stretches of road into quick little time trials or execution challenges to keep up your speed. You could encounter other racers on the road and suddenly challenge them to impromptu races. There were collectibles like signs to smash for shop discounts and cars to unlock by finding them around the map. This was kicked up a notch by all tying into online as well; was fun when it was active and you were challenging other players on the road and such.

There was a decent bit to do inbetween the actual challenges and races, but for what's said about Mario Kart World, the free roam mode has none of that. It mostly has the challenges--which are apparently very short--and some other things like the medallions, both of which apparently only gets you stickers.

As it stands, MK: World is just gonna be another example of Nintendo doing poorly to catch up to the curve, but because the main fans never play anything else, they're gonna be wowed by it
