NTA and I'm not very knowledgeable about that, but it seems these charity events declared the income as charity to the IRS and obviously received said donations, but never made the donations to the institutions they claimed they did.
So they possibly embezzled these funds. Can't know for sure without an audit. Best case scenario they sit on this money and never used or donated it for whatever reason.

I also know too much about the family.
