Bros, Gamefreak can finally make a Pokemon game with good graphics. The Switch is no longer underpowered and weak. The possibilities are endless!
Developers happy with the Switch 2 power
HOLY SHIT
THE SWITCH 2 IS AMAZING
Is S2 close to ps5 or something?
Devs said the same shit about the Wii U when it came out.
Wow it really is stronger than a ps4 pro. I am very impressed. But what about the battery life?
Every AAA game will move to UE5 real soon, can the Switch 2 really handle that when PC handhelds are still struggling?
Gamefreak can finally make a Pokemon game with good graphics
You mean that they can make a game with average graphics at 20fps, or a game with shit graphics at 30?
They say this shit about every console that comes out.
Only difference here is they're not saying the Switch is gonna kill PC gaming
But what about the battery life?
I'd imagine pretty terrible while running cyberpunk, probably 2 hours TOPS.
gamefreak
trying
What is this, 2008?
The Switch 2 Fortnite footage they showed looked really good. Idk if that's UE5 now
Sword and Shield didn't even look bad. People exaggerate.
That looks fucking terrible
Looks as good as BOTW and everybody praises that games visuals. Gamefreak hate is forced.
when was that shown?
pokefags are deluded
Don't give a fuck, not paying those greedy gooks a single dollar.
No the fuck they didn't. Like, the Metro Last Light devs shit on the hardware before it came out. Saying it had a horribly slow CPU
forum.beyond3d.com
Don't try to change history you faggot nigger zoomer, you were like 8 when the Wii U came out
You don't have a dollar you spend, Jose
So all developers, complaining about "xbox series S" performance, but switch 2 is some how the marvel of compute power? How i should understand this?
I think most devs complain about the Series S ram
The Switch 2 is stronger than the S.
It's more powerful than the Series S
youtube.com
(sorry about the faggot's commentary, only comparison vid I could find)
Gamefreaking making a good game?
Lmao, why would they do that when the mid games they make sell millions?
Series S ram
it's 10 gb
switch 2
12gb
I think it's skill issue
Wasn't the issue with the Series S around the idea that Microsoft expected you to have all games run on it, which undermined tailoring for the Series X?
Basically their whole issue was being forced to accommodate the lowest common denominator
Have you seen the new pokemon gameplay? Bruh, it's dogwater. But then again it's the pokemon fanbase we're talking about here, they'll suck shit through a straw as long as it's labeled pokemon.
It's such a shame the art of optimization will die with the Switch 2. The few Switch games running at 60fps are amazing.
It's not more powerful in terms of raw power, but it's not that much weaker and with better optimization, you can do more with it than the Series S
It's between the Series S and PS5
No actual serious coder ever made those complaints. It was always without exception some modelfag upset that they needed to spend even 1 second optimizing their shit.
It's more modern GPU architecture means it'll will run the majority of games better than a Series S by default, plus they can use DLSS if necessary.
The "issue" with the Series S was the common modern developer's inability to actually watch out for their triangle/memory budget and scale down appropriately. It's not even a coder thing, just people that have no idea that 10000000x10000000 megatexture on some model with 30000000 polys actually has a performance hit. And the development pipeline being so impersonal no one truly knows what the fuck's going on at any stage beyond "add slop"
*pivots twice
amazing animations bro
Lol
We already know it runs cyberpunk worse then the series S. I don't know why you faggots need to lie.
Orlena is pure sex
How much more powerful is it really?
developers are happy with ps4
Nintendo magic? Just asking because going by the specs it isn't.
Bros, Gamefreak can finally make a Pokemon game with good graphics
It's a cool PS2 game, yeah!
It's not a PS2 game.
...oh my....
Cool tree, anon!
What resolution does Series S run it at in the latest patch (2.2)? I tried searching and can't find a clear answer. I know that CDProjekt are testing 1080p@30-40 on S2 (720p@30 handheld)
Expect most of them not giving a fuck about that and keep releasing their thing exclusively pn PS and PC.
I don't think either game had good environments, the difference is BOTW didn't look like it was made with unity store assets.
Depends what you're running. Something super high intensity like Cyberpunk is probably what all the 2 hour reports are about. But if you're just playing fucking Deltarune or a visual novel or some single player game that doesn't need online and isn't asking the CPU to do a lot, you can probably get it to the 6.5 hour mark they're reporting.
10000000x10000000 megatexture on some model
Pedantry: you don't have "megatextures" on models, ignoring that it was a brand name for a proprietary solution it inherently referred to environment texturing.
Bros, Gamefreak can finally make a Pokemon game with good graphics.
No.
The Pokemon games look bad because they are made on a small budget by small teams, not because of the Switch's lack of power.
yeah it's also stupid because loading everything up in a single texture file would mean they at least half an idea of what the fuck they're trying to do
weaker than the lowest tier laptop from last gen
this is a totally believable story and not made up click farming bullshit
sure
Switch 2 runs 540p-720p dynamic @ 30fps in handheld, docked is 720p-1080p dynamic @ 30fps
Series S runs the main game at 1296-1440p dynamic @ 30fps in quality mode, and 800-1080p dynamic @ 60fps in performance mode.
Phantom liberty dlc is locked 1080p @ 30fps in quality and 648-900p dynamic @ 60 fps in performance mode.
60fps isn't even being considered for swtich 2 cyberpunk port in any capacity
It is still underpowered and weak.
Quality mode is 1440p output at 30fps, with the native res hovering around 1080p.
Performance mode is 1080p output at 50-60fps, native res can drop as low as 640p.
The game uses FSR though, so you'll have to deal with some noticeable ghosting and other artifacts.
Switch 2 runs 540p-720p dynamic @ 30fps in handheld, docked is 720p-1080p dynamic @ 30fps
Where are you getting this info?
All I've seen them say about it is that they're targeting 1080p and 720p handheld respectively, which does imply dynamic resolution scaling but they didn't state these figures.
x.com
I'll take a digital foundry pixel counts over marketing.
That's still by far the best handheld experience for cyberpunk
The port isn't done yet, DF hasn't done a review yet either.
Nintendo's $450 machine should have performance on par with the $800-1000 handheld gaming PCs
Switch was never holding gamefreak back
hogwarts legacy runs at 60fps on the series s but only 30fps on switch 2.
Nah, it's roughly between PS4 Pro and Series S
It will have 60FPS performance mode
You mean Pokemon ZA?.
they're happy to develop on a bulky handheld ps4 when a handheld ps5 is about to come out from sony for the same or less money
ok
Holy shit, imagine when Gen 10 releases and each version cost 90 bucks
It still super weak but Xbox forcing devs to make games work for their retarded Series S console effectively boosted Nintendo by proxy.
Devs are just happy that they can port all their last gen games to the switch 2 without having to put a lot of work in to it to optimize it.
It's "free" money.
30-40 fps
Literally unplayable for an action game
Gamefreak can finally make a Pokemon game with good graphics
LMAO they could be using a quantum computer with 1000 4090s built into one and theyll still produce fucking slop
Gamefreak can finally make a Pokemon game with good graphics
if the switch can run something like xenoblade x and Stray(graphics wise), maybe the switch's power isnt the problem
finally
monolith making good looking functional games with whatever shit hardware Nintendo switch had.
Maybe the problem is not the hardware, anon.
they had a bunch of pokémon games with good graphics. then they went 3d.
when a handheld ps5 is about to come out from sony for the same or less money
Of course they're happy, they look at the massive install base of the Switch and think "Finally we can shill our slop there, quickly port Starwars Outlaws ASAP"
lol Takeshi Miyazoe straight up laughed at the idea of bringing Dark Souls 2 to the Wii U.
nintendo-insider.com
Wanna guess who's making a Switch 2 exclusive now?
We're happy that we can finally port all the multiplat games we've made over the last 10 years for easy money from tendies who only play games on the Nintendo ecosystem
That's cool, but they're not going to be making new, modern games for the Switch 2.
Upscaled 480p but with ray traced puddles
$80
12gb
steam deck literally has more ram
the fuck?
Xbox is pretty much irrelevant now so I have to imagine it must be exhausting to put a lot of effort into a version of a game no one is gonna buy anyways.
What's the official specs of the Switch 2? do we know that already?
They're happy because they can force people to buy their games for 80+ bucks each, next thread.
I hope the next Zelda isn't open world again. I want smaller traditional back. That way it can look prettier.
Yes, its ancient news. Nvidia, Gigabyte, some other big hardware vendors had online security breaches. Specs of the Switch 2 using the Nvidia T239 have been online since 2023. The hardware was spotted via shipping manifests a while ago indicating the first batch of final hardware was complete and headed for retailers a little while back. Pretty easy to find that all with a quick search.
No one cares what people who grew up on N64 Zelda games think or want, least of all Nintendo.
a handheld ps5 won't be physically possible until 2028 at the very earliest
If graphics cards just keep getting more expensive without any justifiable reason to spend that much, then the Switch 2 could very well make a dent. Most gamers just want something cheap and simple that can play the latest games. The main advantage PC gaming gives over consoles is cheap games, not the hardware.
so is it an 8nm or 5nm chip? do we know?
With so many years of experience you would think they know how to make games by now.
For all intents and purposes Medusa Point should be close enough, and that'll be in handhelds launching next year.
Sony clearly has no incentive to push devs to make use of the hardware so the games still run like dogshit even on the PS Pro. Theoretical peak performance may be lower but when it comes to running games at comparable visual fidelity we're a ballhair away from handheld PS performance right now.
THA HORSE COCK YUUUUUGGGGE
Yeah, I remember this exact article about Switch 1.
Medusa Point
RDNA3.5
nah, it'll be their UDNA SoC
3rd-party devs are happy with it because it means they can port their PS4 backlog and perpetually keep Nintendo a generation behind yet charging full-price again for 5+ year old games.
Arch alone means nothing. The actual in game performance on the PS5 is way worse than PC port versions running on much weaker hardware.
Too bad most AAAs are going to be using those shitty game key cards.
What's that and why is it bad
Game Key Cards are basically physical CD keys. They don't have the full game on the cart, only a permission to download and play that game. It's basically a digital game you can resell.
Gamefreak can finally make a Pokemon game with good graphics
They are not skilled enough to do that
Playstation ever making a handheld again when Califags are now running it
Never forgive those bastards for the Vita
No, only that it's made by Samsung. One of the leaks mentioned a 7LPH node, that doesn't officially exist as far as public information goes, but we won't know for sure until either Nintendo, Nvidia or Samsung say something about it or someone does a teardown.
Wow it really is stronger than a ps4 pro
Are you blind or stupid?
That's still by far the best handheld experience for cyberpunk
No it's not you fucking retard. Z1 Extreme handhelds can do 1080p at 60fps with the right settings
It's PS4 pro tier lol
They're looking at Switch 2 in the proper context of a handheld gaming system where it's of comparable power to similarly priced handheld systems like Rog Ally and Steam Deck.
So it's maybe as powerful as a Steam Deck, a cheaper and older piece of hardware?
lmao
gamefreak
let's not go crazy. Let's hope for at least a stable 60fps and less glitches
Nintendo is selling a rebadged nvidia sheild.
Of course a nvidia product is going to rip you off when it comes to memory.
And it's going to be running at 540p handheld / 720p docked upscaled to be able to do that.
Bros, Gamefreak can finally make a Pokemon game with good graphics
Funny. Monolith soft had no problem doing that since Wii.
she cute
shadow sneaks behind you
"nothing personnel kid"
crashes your game
kino move
Console generations are meaningless now. Look at the top 20 best selling games last year and only a couple like that dragon ball game and helldivers II are exclusive to the most recent gen… which is nearing 5 years old. 5 years used to be the lifecycle of a console gen and they’re still releasing PS4 versions of most games, a practice they said would stop after 2 years but is still going. And the differences between PS4 and PS5 versions is diminishing returns. Switch 2 won’t have a problem running anything
Gamefreak can finally make a Pokemon game with good graphics
Gamefreak is unable to make good looking 3Ds game, what makes you think that they can handle stronger tech?
In the reel with all the 3rd party games during the direct
I'm no gonna play AAA westshit on it so its not a problem for me.
