There are good and bad translators, which is independent of the constraints and demands of the company coordinating the translation, whose ideas on how to handle a translation may make the end product better or worse. I have no idea what you're even trying to get at anymore. None of this is relevant to the start of this: that there's a broad range of people who work in translations and they vary wildly in approach and quality.

My ass, they are. Most game translations don't even register as a blip. You'll get real shit ones on occasion, absolutely, but the average is mediocre. Functional but really boring. Maybe a few dumb choices on how to imitate slang or memes. People tend to rage at like five lines out of a script because it feeds their biases instead of talking about actually bad translations.
