There's also a bunch that promise steam releases, but deliberately hold them back a few months until the numbers are down so they can get a boost.
The girls are very cute. The story is really good for a gacha. The freebies are very generous. It's a mobile game, so don't expect too much complexity from the gameplay though.

Girls Frontline 1, which makes basically loose change every month, has a Steam version
It's about preserving the game and story.
The story is mostly casual, happy slice of life type but everything culminates to Vol F which is amazing as hell when every student team up to stop a world ending threat. Try it!

Because the game doesn't have its own storefront or CDN, it needs a platform. And Steam is by far the biggest PC platform. Plus, it's publicity. Who's going to download some random gacha PC client from the dev site? Only those people who already know about it. But Steam means exposure to potential new users.
