Maybe it's heavily dependent on the gimmick, since I don't know how it works entirely yet, but it seems you can collect them and obviously they're not all there at the start.

Yeah, I saw someone’s gameplay and it feels tricky, more focus on spinning attacks, which might be rough for people used to vertical attack. I'm still not sure about the stone system, I just hope it won’t be like UM. Trying to force jarpig shit into the game will always backfire
Ah! Ah! I think maybe the rough cut versions give you resources when you charge up and survive a pyramid and maybe cut is what gives you the special gimmick donuts/cherrymoon shield thing
By the way this was with Reimu, it seems to delete some bullets, and at the end it does this bomb-esque strike that does a good bit of damage to an enemy. Not sure how efficient the deletion is, maybe it lets you outright shotgun, maybe it doesn't, but in theory this is a good gem to have.
