They just removed some movement options, making the game simpler again. Sucks for us who like more advanced options, but fortnite motto seems to be if it doesn't directly make them money, they remove it. Making movement harder that necessary isn't making normies like it more so it gets cut.
This chapter so far has been okay, solid 6,5 seasons, with nothing being too exciting, but still having too many bullshit anti skill items like the bats and katana.
All the while the collab slop train keep chugging. I've completely given up on normal skins in this game since they expect me to pay as much for their own dogshit designs as I would for chun li or jake the dog.

I'm well aware of the bot servers, that clip was like my 20th or 30th match or something

It's surprisingly relaxing and fun when you don't take it seriously and has a lot of variety.

But it seems like the people that do take it seriously are frequently mad and I've noticed they do tend to add shit that allows newer players to get easy kills so I'm guessing they're usually mad for completely valid reasons.

There's also the problem that the game seems to be obsessed with variety for the sake of variety, prime example being the new modes.
