Gacha

I genuinely don't understand the appeal. What is it?

Ever play a slot machine?

It's an open world anime action RPG with an ever expanding world, a story that never ends and hundreds of playable characters. At this point how do I even need to explain

no i dont gamble

Why not

because its boring, unappealing and you lose money

They're basically slot machines disguised as games, except instead of rewarded with money you're rewarded with big tits.

gambling is boring

Why would pirates do something that's boring? Pirates gamble, booze, fuck hoes, sail seas and swordfight and all of those things are fun. If you're not a pirate you don't get a say in this, they are the authority

fuck... that does sound fun

I hate when people call certain games gambling when every character has a set currency required to get what you want. Theres no gambling at all, if you want one you just have to pick one and go for it

Don't you like cute girls?

I quit Genshin at Inazuma but it’s a legit gorgeous game

you're obviously falling for poorly executed bait posts from miserable individuals that have nothing better to do with life.

if thats the case then why not just look up all these gacha characters naked instead of spending money

Gambling is exciting (don't use your real money stupid)
Collecting cute characters
Exploring various environments with them
Nice soundtrack

some of the best exploration in games today, just running around finding shit

it's like BOTW but more of a video game and less of a tech demo

hard to argue with this logic

the open world has more sovl than elden ring and nuzelda combined and one can claim this proudly.
100+ hours of content for free.

On release? You just had to be there.

Now? There is none. Genshin's begun its never-ending decline.

Nobody likes Genshin because it's gacha. They like it despite the fact that it's gacha. We have this conversation everyday. Why won't you accept this simple answer?

For me it's exploring the world, doing the quests, doing the events(I unironically love almost all the minigames they've put out), doing abyss, doing IT, and keeping up with the chores(I like grinding and wish genshin had more desu). The music is also the GOAT.

I don't roll for new characters that often so I've never felt that excitement you're talking about. I just save up gems and when I want a character I get them 100%. If you play like me who min maxes and skips stuff that I don't need, there is no gambling aspect at all. This also adds a layer of TC and social activity that I really enjoy, when new characters are announced I spend a lot of time figuring out how their kit works with other people, figuring out where it's good and if it's fun or useful. Super fun.

Yeah. It's way more than 100h though. WAY more.

f2p+waifus+ecchi

It came out in 2020 around COVID mania. The whole world was kind of crazy at that time, most normal and respectable people look back on playing Genshin and cringe and feel embarrassed about it now that clearer heads have prevailed. Of course you have some fucked up freaks that actually play to this day, but for the most part normal people have moved on.

For me it's her
She's not in Genshin though so thank God

You liked it because the new waifus were trending on shitter? The video game industry hasn't changed since then and the only difference for a new player is that Genshin has more content now.

Because this chink mobile gacha genuinely moges 90% of games when it comes to environments.

qrd?

the last genre to have attractive fictional characters

What that 10% it doesn't mog?

botw actually has interaction with the world tho

She's a voice actress
She only voiced characters in gacha games these days
I play those gacha games
I don't have to add Genshin to my daily rotation because she's not in it
That's all

Similar to MMOs some people also get addicted to the illusion of progress/checking boxes/leveling characters

the game has tangible progress too

Do you seriously think the gacha is the only thing coded in the game and that there's not also an entire game in the front? I genuinely don't understand how you can be that stupid.

Personally, I'm only playing this one in particular.
I'm playing it on PC with cheat engine so I don't even pay money to chinks and I've been sticking with the starter characters ever since with my main being Diluc.

Said "game" is just go to x, talk to x, go to x, do the same challengeless fight for the 200th time, go to x, talk to NPC, here's your trickle of gambling currency.
Literal busywork for retards

You're just describing most video games retard-sama

There's a good game under the gacha but after 4 years it has become too much for me
I have one guaranteed saved for her majesty the tsaritsa that I'll log on for

Fuck no i didn't, fuck off with this kike style argument

You really think RDR2 has a better world? It was pretty cool but kinda boring too.

how good is this real game

Yes it does you retard.
The only games it doesn't really apply to are high-gameplay density games which haven't been common for a really long time.

I hate stamina systems

he quit during the beta test era

I hate jarpig tier sloppa writing so I haven't talked to NPCs in two years, you can choose to get your daily primos from exploration now

It's kinda cheating to include anything Rockstar since they're pretty much the only comptetent AAA studio nowadays
RDR2 mogs most game words easily

I love glitches like this.

Mario:

just go to x, talk to x, go to x, do the same challengeless fight for the 200th time, go to x, talk to NPC, here's your trickle of even more useless stuff

Breath of the Wild with actual content

I think the better question is what’s your problem with it?

It's basically the game version of long-running soap operas. Whilte the latter are meant to appeal to miserable middle-aged wives, the former is meant for Asian incels so it can keep compliant and wagecucking instead of unheroing. Basically vicarious living/romance, with the common slice of life shit that appeals to ricecels

is it too late to get into it now?

nope but this was a funny post, you silly asian incel you.

the monstadt storyline is actually pretty interesting

after that the game unfortunately falls into the usual anime RPG problem of having too much worthless dialogue. Every single conversation is padded out and there's so much filler small talk. I dropped it recently after finishing Liyue.

Not really. The main downside to being new would be sometimes missing out on whatever time-limited current event is running (usually not important) unless you speedrun like a maniac to try and catch up and spoil the fun. You'll have a ton of content to enjoy at your own pace.

If you're starting just now you've missed a lot of stuff
For some reason the Genshin team refuses to make main events into permanent content like ZZZ & HSR (HSR also lets you get event weapons outside of events, ZZZ will probably do it later)

Is it really gambling if you have a guaranteed jackpot? I dont think so. I would never consider walking into a casino and gambling away money hoping for a payout fun, but pulling on gacha I'm guaranteed what I want after X many pulls when I hit pity.

i would never consider spending money on a gacha

There's definitely a gambling aspect with the 55/45 loss rate
Though I don't see why people don't just treat it as "Buy a character you want with 150 rolls"

kek you would have been super filtered later on, the recent area massively cut down on it but the previous 2 years had dialogue for aeons

There's definitely a gambling aspect with the 55/45 loss rate

There isn't because the next time you win you have a guarantee. There's a set cost that you can get lucky with, making it cost less. This is hardly gambling.

Though I don't see why people don't just treat it as "Buy a character you want with 150 rolls"

Right. Consider each character as something that costs 150~ rolls and then acknowledge that you can get lucky and get it in half that or less, on average. My average for the limited character banner is 57 rolls for example, and I've won most of my 50/50s when rolling with intent(I lose my "lucky" rolls which has always been nice lol) so I'm pretty lucky with rolling. But I've never thought of it as gambling, it's an investment you can get lucky on.

while i was doing the liyue questline that recent hu tao event was on, and i was constantly being forced into cutscenes for that event, with the cutscenes being like 5 minutes long even with me skipping every line

i think that's when i pretty much checked out of the game and after that just forced myself to continue until I cleared up liyue and finally met the sister again

maybe i'll go back to it but man that event shit really annoyed me

Ah yeah that event was probably following the modern standards of word spam, different than the old 1.0 Liyue stuff which I thought you were talking about. I think it was the second lantern rite event that was painfully verbose as well, or maybe it was the first one. They were following NPCs around and literally no one gave a fuck about them. Ever since the criticism they got from that event they've focused a lot more on characters for many events lol.

who's pointing a gun at your forehead while you're play forcing you to spend on characters? Get some fucking self-control and enjoy the exploration.

with gacha you can pretty easily get enough to get who you want anyway, paying is so unnecessary

I'm sticking with wuwa.

wuthering wokes

I uninstalled after they removed cantarella's cameltoe.

ironic when genshin does it too

he doesn't know

i know nothing about wuthering waves im just shitposting

I quit during Fontaine. It was just way too much talking with barely any substantial gameplay in between. Even if I just wanted to explore I'd quickly run into endless dialog just trying to walk somewhere.

y-you can mod it

not an argument + worst anniversary ever

I didn't quit but I stopped keeping up with perma content then.
I JUST finished catching up with Fontaine, aside from 3 more of the 5 star friend quests. The sea of bygones was pretty comfy.

I wanted to catch up for the next patch since we're going back to Fontaine.

new archon quest soon

Alright what kind of stupid crap are we gonna have to deal with story wise this time? There always has to be a godawful narrative decision that tanks everyone's enjoyment when an archon quest is involved. Seriously we already hit the lowest of the low with scaradouce reborn and the prison filler arc.
