Like a dumbass, I didn't notice you could set a stone to each side. This could lead to some very strong combos. The one I picked ended up being quite good. Let me try & explain what I figured out because it'll probably help you guys struggling a lot.
So the green part is my basic shot, the one that's always there with no variations based on the power. The red chaos emerald is my unfocused, spread shot. For Marisa,its her missiles. At 4P they actually have a very wide range and are very good for stages. The other red part is the focused shot, and that's her lasers. Horrible sound design aside, these are also very strong, melting bosses in 15 seconds tops if not less sometimes. The shot's weakness comes from a lack. Lastly, the moon part (which I believe is the assist shot part) is a sort of buff & what conditions the behavior of your "hyper" mode. For the moon, I think its some mild proximity based bullet erasure (think the UFO or magatama cards from UM) as well as a supernatural border of sorts that rewards you with a bomb piece if you don't die while it's up.
I may be wrong on a bunch of these, but I hopee it helps. Most important thing is DONT SET ONLY 1 STONE. It may seem dumb but clueless as I was, that's how I started, and it enables so much less. The build I did got me good damage, good spread for the stages, and a neat little bonus.

I don't think you can change the other stones without beating the demo first.

Enemy HP way too high (both fairies and bosses). Power punishment is heavy. UFO resource system but seemingly with even less control on it. 2/3 designs are meh. Some of the shottypes are probably goofiest in entire series (I'm looking at you yellow stone).
HOWEVER I still believe in stages 4-6, translation of moonrunes that will unveil way to do damage with proper stone setups and phantasm stage.

Game is either gruesomely unbalanced for first playthrough or is of UFOhard-LoLK tier difficulty. It would've been SA, as in just challenging, but stones that pop up during bossfights and cooperating with bosses by hiding inside them make this game times more difficult. Also, I noticed my hypers stop activating after like 1.5 stages whatsoever despite having full bar (pressing C doesn't help). If they are limited use AND activate uncontrollably it's total bullshit.

Chimi's non-spells are so claustrophobic and anxiety inducing. Reminds me of Doremy's non's. Nareko's last spell is just something I'm going to bomb for now because I don't have time for curved things right now. Her second to last spellcard was super fun to dodge though.

None of the songs have caught my liking so far, but this happens with every new 2hu game that gets released, where I think the songs are really bad but then eventually I turn out liking even the songs I hated. Chimi's theme definitely the biggest standout from first listen though.
