I'm gonna be frank, I seriously don't think Kingdom Hearts was made as a "crossover" in a normal sense. Kingdom Hearts (to me, atleast) has always been a general crossover between the world's and whimsy of Disney and the tone, style and gameplay of a Sqauresoft/Enix game. Even if we want to go with the idea of KH being a crossover between Disney and Final Fantasy specifically, it isn't a very fair arrangement. You're not going to Final Fantays worlds, and there isn't that many FF characters when compared to the amount of Disney characters you have. I think alot of the people that "liked" Kingdom Hearts because of the Final Fantasy elements don't actually enjoy the serise. KH is a Disney franchise.

Holy fuck 110% this. Something people fail to understand is that nuKH has horribly misused both FF and Disney equally. FF is, well, gone. And Disney shit doesn't actually matter in the slightest like it used to back in KH1. KH is just an excuse for Nomura to show off his poorly written anime slop now. Which is incredibly dissapointing, because the original KH worlds/characters used to work so well because they had both Disney and Final Fantasy propping them up; both gave elements like Hollow Bastion, Organization XIII, Heartless, Nobodies, and Keyblades an air of mystery because these were things that we, as players, weren't used too with these properties.

I get that they probably wanted to use some of the more contemporary and new stuff from that time, but they should have balanced it out with at least a few more classic Disney originals. As for the worlds in KH4, Star Wars *could* work (but obviously not the new movies), but fuck if they start using capeshit, it will be so over.
