arc sys got ransomeware'd they didn't pay and the hackers released the code online a little while ago thats the word on the street, the hackers have full access to the multiplayer side of the game as well meaning they can just do anything they want to you when you connect.

Only if the source code is prone to have RCE exploits the devs failed to notice and that would only affect people playing against a select group of PC players willing to fuck with you and even then it varies from system to system.
Xbox games run on a sandbox.
PS5 is its own ecosystem.
So more likely it will be Pc vs Pc niggering.

If anything it enables the possibility for better cheating tools but playing online games with PC niggers has always been pretty shitty. The community could also help find exploits and Arc system could put a bounty on Hacker 1 so more people can look into the source code and find potential flaws.
It does not mean it's ogre since Dark Souls and L4D2 have gone through more or less the same instances.
The worst part is assessing damages and find if the attackers still have a foothold on the systems.

lol they have an entire discord going through whats now multiple versions of the game thats leaked, one being an entire terabyte of data, the entire house of arc sys now sits on that discord server and on gofile, arcsys should probably disable the games multiplayer but they haven't yet which is a little crazy to me.

I wish something big would come of this. If someone could cause actual permanent damage to this game that ruins it's reputation to the point if it's playerbase dying overnight or over time quickly and killing off the franchise for good, I'd be ecstatic. I know nothing about the series, I just got curious because of the source code. But I've seen this exact sentiment a lot online, what happened with Strive? Was it that big of a change in the franchise?

Old Guilty Gear was like playing the guitar, Strive is like a vuvuzela. Before you were shredding and being radical, but now you're just doing the same thing as everyone else. The story itself is mostly okay and the music was always hit or miss (NSFW from Rev2 is the worst song in the series), but overall it's just a significantly safer and less creative product. It's not outright bad, it's just not what Guilty Gear was. A couple of tracks are still good, though. Venom's theme especially shreds. Hope that cleared it up a bit. I hate video games.

I used to think it was just GG oldheads being salty like they were about Xrd and Xrd Rev 2, but yeah it's pretty bad. It would be a decent fighting game if it weren't attached to the Guilty Gear name. It's so streamlined and safe that it goes against the rock n' roll ethos of the previous games. You can't even do Destructions (essentially insta-kill moves that end the match if successful), which have been a thing since the first game.

I don't completely hate it, but man it's so neutered that I can't find much positive to say about it. The chicks are hot I guess.

Strive is just a radically different game than the past several GGs that came before it and GG was always a poser series that had a ton of people who pretended to be "fans" despite never actually playing for more than five minutes if at all.

You aren't wrong but they aren't offensive to the senses is a better way to put it. They don't look unattractive so much as boring other than Elphet and Jack O'.

You can always play it on linux and create a SE policy for the game so even if someone fucks with your game any exploit would sooner crash the game than affect your system so the worst part is averted.
