Look at this face and try to tell me she's actually happy in this ending
Look at this face and try to tell me she's actually happy in this ending
have children
She will be happy at some point again you overdramatic maellefag
She deserves this instead of relying on whats essentially drugs
Is this game actually good? I know literally nothing about it except for the images I've seen on Anon Babble's catalog.
She's not happy, she's grieving in a healthy way that wont cause her death. One day soon she'll be able to find happiness again, just like her brother wants.
oui
She will be when I get my hands on her.
Yes is good
It's fucking great.
For me, it's one of the best games of the last decade. Neil Druckmann wishes he was able to create such stories.
Look at this face and try to tell me he's actually happy in this ending
Who cares about Maelle. Everyone in that world was just genocided. Lune's dead. Oh no, Alicia is sad? So what.
Definitely not ominous that her family disappears and Gustave is beckoning to her.
Also December 33.
My crispy wife Alicia.
I hope he isn't happy in any ending
burn scarred
crippled
blind
mute
hated by her family
she will totally be happy one day! She just needs to smile more!!
Anon she has to move on. She's been living in a fake world for 16 years as a coping mechanism while it's barely been that long outside the painting. She's basically been in the equivalent of a hyperbolic time chamber, I think that's enough distorted time to realize enough's enough.
If Verso did nothing, she'd be staying in there with her conjured delusions and never moving on. Can't you see? It's escapism. It's not healthy.
He should literally be strung up by his balls and tortured for all of eternity for his actions, but wah wah I have to play piano!!
She will get over it.
What happens if a painter stays in the canvas for too long exactly?
Is the issue that they are basically a god of the canvas world and get drunk on the power and it becomes unhealthy?
So Maelle staying in that canvas is going to try and continue that painting world and everybody in it for eternity whether they like it or not
le painted people have heckin' souls you can't kill them
OMG a painted person that doesn't do exactly what Maelle tells him to do. KILL HIM KILL HIM KILL HIM KILL HIM KILL HIM KILL HIM KILL HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why are Maellefags like this?
It physically drains them so presumably it makes them peel over and die if in there too long.
Maellefags are living on neetbucks on a shitty apartment gooning to hentai 24/7 without a single friend or goal in their lives so they think it's fine to live in a video game world forever. Same people who form parasocial relationships with vtubers.
Did a mudslime throw accid on her face or something?
their real body just starts getting fucked up. The Renoir in the painting coughs a lot too, even though he doesn't cough outside the painting from what I remember. So I guess some signs of being sick start to appear in the painting version as well
It's good but if you've been spolied it's already 50% less good than it could have been for you because the main draw is the story and characters. This is why you should stop being a cuck and start to pirate instead of waiting for a sale or whatever.
I am at the end. Why am I forced to fight with Maille? There should be a choice. She is dumb as fuck and Renoir is right about everything
No a w*****r did
play to the end
You will get a choice lazy dumb nigger. Finish the game before crying about it
neither ending is happy you midwit
"Please unpaint me, I don't want this life"
Nah you'd live with me forever
"Please send me back to my family"
No problem girl
Maelle is a hypocrite.
Imagine being such a lying piece of shit that when your mother is grieving your death and creates a new copy of you to live with in a fantasy world, she makes that copy a massive lying piece of shit as well, which goes on to repeatedly lie and betray everyone it comes in contact with. Then your father makes an island that represents you and it's just all about how much of a liar you are.
But sure, feel free to believe it's just because he didn't want to play the piano.
If you exchange ''canvas'' for ''silent hill'' this would be a great sh game
I know this is only on my feed. I'm not oblivious, I know what this means. I'm not ok with it.
What would you do in his situation? Tell them that "hey guys you are all paintings and not real, and I need my sister and mother back so the only way to do this is to destroy the painting, no hard feelings right?"
Anon, hypothetically, if you were a brain in a jar, and you could choose to experience a made up world, completely realistic, until you die, or just exist as a brain in a jar experiencing nothing except maybe foggy vision and sounds, which would you prefer to live in?
There's a certain threshold where it's better to live in the fantasy land for the person rather than what's real. For some, that threshold is lower, for others, it's higher.
She gave Verso free will and made him not retarded, makes sense why he would choose the Verso ending. Every other painted person is a glorified Sims NPC
If he didn't have a soul how would I hate him?
Do you hate the tornado for destroying a house?
Any normal person would rather just die in that scenario
I hate niggers for destroying my country and they don't have souls
Sorry for the mass reply but the "I see my dead friends" is often used in french media for people about to kill themselves to show their motivation as to why they will do it, that's why you don't have the whole family see Verso next to his tombstone.
You know she can paint right? What stops her from creating her own canvas or multiple canvases like her parents? She's just a junkie that can't use it in moderation like her mother.
Death is an inevitability whether you want it now or expect it later. May as well trick yourself that you're living in the real world and have an enjoyable subjectively meaningful life before you pass on anyway.
Its not about that. The last 2 hours are about to be with a dumb retarded kid. Total waste
So she would do exactly the same in the new canvas that Verso was trying to prevent her from doing.
So why not just do that in the Verso canvas where all her friends are.
I get you have a massive hate boner for him, but every single thing he did, he did for his family.
Then your father makes an island that represents you and it's just all about how much of a liar you are.
No, that he wasn't fully honest with his family and that affected his art. Visages was about the original verso too and his axion was
you should be more honest about your feelings
and his whole island is about how he didn't want to do ar like his parents.
no she wont. she will end up either killing herself or staying in her room all her life with no friends.
Because Verso's soul doesn't want to keep on painting, so she's basically enslaving him to fuel her fantasy.
And
So why not just do that in the Verso canvas where all her friends are.
You actually think she cares about the people in the canvas, when the ending spells it out for you that she's only hung up on it because Verso's soul is there. She says it so herself.
If the painting could run without his soul and he died, Alicia would basically lose all interest in it.
Because at least she won't be able to use "muh Verso" as an excuse for letting herself waste away in the canvas. It'll be her canvas, her life, her choice, her responsibility. If that's how she chooses to handle her grief that's her business, she should still let go of Verso's canvas.
Because that canvas is cursed. It's malicious and not used for creativity. What was an innocent childs world turned into a hellscape. If she grew up after the ending she will use it to express herself and not to endlessly grieve and fixate on people.
but you aren't tricking yourself. I know I'm a brain living in a fantasy world in your scenario, same way Maelle knows she's Alicia. If I knew I was just a brain in a simulation I would rather die if I didn't know I was a brain in a simulation, obviously I would have no reason to want to die
Gameplay is ok but the story is pure shit made to make redditors feel smart.
you realise some people never get over bad things that happened to them right? ive been suicidal for over a decade and nothing changed my mind or made me feel better.
Kill yourself then?
If you haven't then you are being extremely melodramatic.
ive been suicidal for over a decade
Jesus, what a god damned procrastinator. No matter you are depressed.
She's the only real person in a party of paintings, what did you expect, either way Verso is almost as important as her in the ending
Is simon just a pure skill check?
Implied she did it cause she knew painted verso left Gustave die
She's kind of a dick
She's basically the main character the whole way through. When you are playing as Gustave it's all about keeping her safe and as Verso it's all about her family.
Then ending is basically deciding what you want to do with her.
obviously you aren't suicidal or you would have killed yourself already. This ain't Reddit fag, nobody is falling for your suicide sob story here
Alicia is a huge cunt, everyone knows that.
Kill yourself then coward.
Thinking paintings have no worth because they aren't ""real"" is dumb. Imagine god thinking this way. He created us and that makes him dismiss us because we aren't real enough lol?
I wonder how the conversation between revived Gustave and Verso would go in the Maelle ending if Maelle wasn't mind controlling both of them
Story skipper who doesn't know Maelle is a paintress with God-tier powers who can create her own worlds to roleplay in
Yes God has never ever done something like that anon
thats still basically staying in her room with no real friends
She has the right to be a cunt. Her family is far worse.
She's not happy she's grieving her brother, but that's the process needed to move on with your life. Running away from it forever will help no one.
writers could be here, she thought
The flood was our fault
Renoir wasn't.
She's just a brat.
girl named Alicia
goes into a land full of wonders
Oh, I see...
Maybe he wants to take everyone else down with him like Verso.
sure, she will be staying inside of her room inside of a new canvas, how is that any different than the bad ending apart from there being no cons?
I said play motherfucker
Clair Obscur 2.
Clea falls in love with a Romeo from the writers and gets lost in his book.
What's so bad about that? That's what most people on Anon Babble are and we are happy enough. Maelle in Versos world was like a Anon Babble tripfag, or even worse part of a Anon Babble discord server. Maelle in other paintings will be a normal healthy anon shitposter
I would paint my waifu and never leave, why insist on the dimension outside being superior when it isn't?
Also the dimension outside of paintings isn't even the highest one apparently, the writers are above that.
Only because Silent Hill doesn't actually mean anything and has no consistent identity, even in the good entries they flip flopped about what it should be constantly lol
The catch is that you only realize that with the Act 3 plot twist.
we are happy enough.
She won't grow obsessed with it because Verso's soul isn't in it.
Since that's the only reason she's obsessed with the game's canvas.
That's like saying why Aline doesn't make another canvas with her fake family, it's not the same.
so the babies that obviously died during the flood were guilty? God doesn't care about guilt. Humanity needed a clean start so he wiped everyone out excluding Noah and his faggot friends and family
Thats a good thing, Clea said they can't treat canvases like drugs, Aline has been in thousands of canvases and Alicia needs to start making thousands of them if they want to enact Total Writer Death
Buy an ad.
Cope. He deflowered your asian waifu, then the turned her into actual flowers.
Its probably been a week, its not like 30 years later she is still miserable
deflowered
lune
the girl who said she wanted to fuck to vent out her frustrations
Dude.
Also the dimension outside of paintings isn't even the highest one apparently, the writers are above that.
What makes you say that? I got the impression the Writers and Painters were just two factions within the "real" world. What implies the Painters are living in a reality created by the Writers?
im still miserable over stuff that happened 10 or 20 years ago.
Literally smiling in the frames after ops screenshot.
smiles at her family
goes to his grave
bids farewell to the canvas people and her brother
THIS ISN'T A GOOD END FOR ALICIA SOMEHOW SHE SHOULD KEEP PLAYING PRETEND AS MAELLE
Time to get over it, anon.
the temporary unhappiness of an immortal teenager
vs
literal fascism
Fuck off, maellefag
I can't due to the knock on effect it had
It's funny that people are like hurr durr escapism bad, when they are also playing games as a means of escapism. Is life on your side of thinking just contradictory on purpose? Are you incapable of seeing the hypocrisy, or is it just that without double standards, you'd have no standards?
That's the face I make when I try to signal to other people I'm not uncomfortable, when in reality I am uncomfortable.
She can enter another canvas, this time healthily.
Living entirely in a facsimile world isn't healthy.
This game is not some ethical dilemma between what is real and the rights of fictional characters.
It's about grief and a family's response to the death of a son.
The game is telling you to have a healthy relationship with art instead of drowning into it.
Renoir had NO ISSUE allowing the canvas to keep on existing if Alicia was responsible, and she lied to his face.
Then Verso had to do what Renoir couldn't and pull her out of it.
Verso literally tells her to go make another painting, retard.
Wait a minute
This is just The Neverending Story from the point of view of Atreyu
The difference being that the escapism shown in the game is capable of literally killing you. Also not all escapism is the same, the escapism of running away from the grief of a dead relative and the escapism of filling the void in your otherwise empty life are very different. As the game says, Alicia is free to paint her own canvas and hide there forever, letting go of Verso's canvas should still come first.
That's a fake smile retard.
I don't even know why I've debating this with you retards for 2 weeks.
Maelle ending is canon, as stated by most of the game dialogue and OST. It's blatant And LOGICAL as she is the main character from the very start.
Imagine you play a game about Alice in Wonderland and in the end you choose the ending where she becomes crippled and can't go back to the world, that'd be retarded. Same here.
LMAO just leave the painting
Prove you're not a junkie and you can have it forever
unfortunately, Maelle was a junkie and the painting needed to be destroyed
somehow, this is Versos fault
If Maelle got gangbanged every day for years inside the canvas would you still be willing to marry Alicia in real life?
This is the question you must answer to decide whether the painted world is real or not. Personally I would still marry her
No, this is a fake smile. Didn't read the rest of your drivel.
It's blatant And LOGICAL as she is the main character from the very start.
as shown by Gustave and Verso being the POV characters in camp, even during the act named after her
the main character is who ever you control
Do you think that Nick is the main character of the Great Gatsby as well?
It's amazing but you're gonna get spoiled if you enter these threads
It's time to go home.
Alright anon, who do you think the main character in FFXII is?
I find people trying to get in my way of escapism worse than escapism itself, everyone just wants you to suffer alone and to just figure it the fuck out
You must imagine her happy.
damn she's walling so hard in that ending. gross big pores and wrinkles.
Versofags are cucks
Your mom
Maellefags are retarded boomers referencing boomer slop and fucking weebs. Holy shit AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
NOOOOO VERSO
DONT DESTROY THE PAINTING I'M GOING TO COMMIT SUICIDE IN
VERSO NOOOOOOOOO
Letting escapism consume you usually coincides with cutting yourself off socially. Alicia should be relying on her family, fucked up as they are, to help her deal with her grief, not running away and playing God with what's left of Verso's soul.
Everybody picking Maile ending is a dumb homosexual
Why did he do it?
thinking Maelle's ending is the good ending when it includes a Verso who clearly remembers everything and is either so dead inside he doesn't fight it or is being forced to go through the motions
also a jump scare of Maelle's fucked up face, complete with a scare chord
yeah guys, amazing ending
sufffer alone
She has a family and a loving father you retarded fuck
another anti LGBT Verso loser
Go talk to a therapist
Because he loved his family. So he kicked them out of the fantasyland and let them move on.
You forgot the part where everyone is insane. Oh wait, that's Alice in Wonderland too.
people in the canvas are not real
This is the type of manchild that sides with Maelle
autists. its the face of someone grieving but on the path to recovery. joy is in them still but its not fully out yet because theyre still upset.
i don't care about her shitty abusive family. her life will be much better alongside the people in lumiere where she will finally get gustave cock.
yes i am a real woman and ill make everyone around me be forced to believe it! i wont return to reality where im a man
picking maelle is literally the tranny ending.
thinking Verso's ending is good when it destroys an entire world filled with sentient beings
Verso is correct in kicking the Paintress out so Aline could get help.
He's the same amount of correct when kicking Maelle out
This is just the abortion debate
It's not his family.
i can see that
it is like treating sperm as people
Faggots and alphabet freaks hate the game
hmmm, I wonder why....
I have lost my legs in a car accident. Many times I am having dreams where I ski or run or doing other fun things, nd feel disappointed waking up.
But I still wouldnt want to connect myself in a matrix where everything is wonderful forever like taking heroin.
Fuck this, and everyone saying its the correct choice.
I honestly think it's just the contrarian brain that causes people to believe the opposite of what everyone knows is the right choice. Since the Maelle ending is the canon ending, tendies are upset and seething about it, because they have to always be at odds with the truth.
this Maelles body her choice. Nobody should force her out of the painting
why cant i find this thread
Verso's canvas is doomed regardless, the only difference is Alicia's fate. She's either forced out of the canvas and the part of Verso's soul that makes it work fades out of existence, or she stays in the canvas until it kills her, and the canvas is destroyed by Renoir or Clea. And even then, their sentience means little since Maelle clearly rewrites reality in her ending. If there was an ending that left the canvas world to its own devices and let it function naturally without any outside interference I'd agree, but in Maelle's ending everyone is essentially puppets on strings.
What the painters do affects paintings but what the Writers do affects supposed reality
Maelle's a Moebius
Probably deleted, this was screenshot 2 weeks ago and it seems there were people defending the game and others hating on it, mods on that place are reddit tier power trippers
Where the hell is that ever said?
Verso's canvas is doomed regardless, the only difference is Alicia's fate
Not necessarily. If Maelle dies and Aline doesn't enter the canvas Renoir has zero reason to destroy it.
But even if he does destroy it, that gives the people of the canvas decades more life than they otherwise wouldn't have in Verso's ending. And Maelle gets to live a full life where she can talk and breath among her friends and loved ones in peace.
Nobody knows the full extent of Painter or Writer power. I'm sure Clea isn't hunting down Writers without having any sort of real world power
but in Maelle's ending everyone is essentially puppets on strings.
Headcanon.
Lmao how naive, broken families like this don't magically just piece themselves together, especially not when they're crippled and horribly disfigured where it hurts to talk . This isn't Disney try stepping out into the real world for once, you might learn something.
Painters probably pull people into paintings and then do harm there
I am weak and could not overcome my benign struggles so everyone is weak
Kek Maellefags
Its weird that Lune and Sciel dont actually give a fuck about Alicia, none of them question that she will die in the real world and try to change her mind. Its almost like theyre really just npcs.
crippled people can NEVER be happy
damn nigga have you tried getting laid
Bold of you to assume she doesn't just commit suicide like 30 minutes after Verso's ending scene
game literally tells you they dont have souls or are sentinent in anyway
some autist online: ugh i dont want to her the inanimate objects! i will do what they want!
without fail some retard will always do the opposite of just to pretend theyre better.
immortal teenager
You didn't even play the game you retard
maelleniggers are diseased
>game literally tells you they dont have souls or are sentinent in anyway
Why are you lying?
They are women, they are right not to speak about such complicated matters
what do you think chroma is?
The right thing to do is always supposed to more painful
actually wait up
why does it matter even if they have souls
they clearly only have souls inside the painting
they are still fictional people, the idea of souls is just placing a weird kind of idea of afterlife for the painted people but that doesn't make any sense, they have no place outside of the canvas
verso boy : id like to think they have souls
id like to think
id like
autist learn english.
paint. not souls lol.
If Maelle dies and Aline doesn't enter the canvas Renoir has zero reason to destroy it.
Aside from it reminding him of two of his dead children, of course. I somehow doubt he would tolerate the canvas' existence.
And Maelle gets to live a full life where she can talk and breath among her friends and loved ones in peace.
I think it's incredibly optimistic to assume Maelle would live a full, healthy life in the canvas when the game goes out of its way to show her fucked up face and Verso clearly remembering everything. And that's after we saw Verso's soul clearly want to stop painting, and painted Verso begging for death. There's so little that's healthy about that ending.
It's a pretty safe assumption. If they all retained their memories like Verso then I feel like a lot of them would have trouble finding contentment knowing their reality is a fiction that Maelle is clearly using as a form of unhealthy escapism.
Its a fake screenshot. I don't know why he keeps spamming it or what his goal is.
oh yeah you're just a loser
ah the eloquent replies of the oh so intelligent versofag, well I guess you would know a lot about struggling.
well she's not exactly going to give a toothy smile and thumbs up at the camera in front of her dead brother's tombstone
Having "souls" doesn't matter. What does matter is that they are thinking, feeling, sentient beings.
The Writers caused the fire and Verso's family can't paint people in their world, can't even paint out fires lol
They don't care about her and she doesn't care about them. It's why anyone arguing about souls and shit are disingenuous incels.
So he doesn't know but wants to think they do. I don't think it's me that needs to learn english.
Every Versochad struggles with the burden of having to deal with Maelletards
Verso who clearly remembers everything and is either so dead inside he doesn't fight it or is being forced to go through the motions
Verso deserves to suffer a happy Verso would be a bad ending
uh oh, fictional people can be those things and still worthless
"steve is a thinking, feeling, sentient being and he lives in this post"
when this post gets eventually deleted, is that murder?
Why would the demiurge do this?
Aside from it reminding him of two of his dead children, of course
Because no parents have ever wanted something that reminds them of their dead children. What do you think a gravestone is?
he clearly indicates they dont but hed like them to. did you miss the entire noco story? the fact that everyone dead at the end and sciel and lune are rezzed and arent bothered or concerned about that at all.
Another high IQ reply, how do you do it. Let me know when your tard ass has what's known as an argument, you do know what those are right?
Remember that Verso himself suggested that Maelle could come in and out of the painting and visit them anytime and she said she couldn't handle reality and wanted to stay there.
This makes Verso 100% justified in his actions because she is subjecting herself to a slow death and drowning herself in unsolved grief for the sake of unhealthy escapism.
I also really didnt want the painting to be destroyed but morally it is the correct choice.
This, whether they're sentient or not is largely beside the point, it doesn't make them any more "real". The world inside the canvas and everyone that inhabits it are a fiction, and their lives are ultimately worth less than a real person's. Alicia could paint myriad worlds with myriad sentient creatures inhabiting them, this one world is not worth her life. It sucks, but Alicia is worth a thousand Lumieres.
he clearly indicates they dont but hed like them to
No he doesn't.
Okay Emet Selch.
So 90% of the game's story is pointless? Why do you even discuss the story of this game? It sounds awful in your interpretation.
Nigger start out with an actual arguement yourself if you want good faith arguements.
real life is not a Disney movie
Is not an arguement
Reminder that Maelle said that Renoir would destroy the canvas the second she stepped outside.
Maybe if the entirety of lumiere combined (except gustave) didn't have the personality of a cardboard box then I would give a shit about any of them dying. As it stands I'd have to fuck over my boy verso and renoir just to save some fucking npcs (sciel and lune included, feet and ass are not personality)
because it is a story and it can be interesting still?
wtf, what was the point of it all if alice's wonderland is not real
There isn't any proof that the world outside the canvas is "real" either.
when this post gets eventually deleted, is that murder?
No because steve can't have thought and feeling when the shitskin that wrote the post doesn't even have them. Seriously what the fuck is the 0 IQ argument the painted people have thoughts and feelings because they were fucking shown to have them not because Maelle said "I arbitrarily say they have feelings so they do". This isn't about a real world inanimate painting you dumb nigger
What do you think a gravestone is?
Something that doesn't contain part of a person's soul, something that can't be entered to escape from one's grief? Remember that Renoir reluctantly allowed Alicia to stay inside the canvas, knowing it would kill her but choosing to believe her lie out of sheer love for her. Do you REALLY think he would allow the canvas to exist knowing that he allowed it to kill his favorite daughter?
my boy verso
You mean one of the biggest lying backstabbers in gaming?
We know about painters, writers what about the musicians?
Still would
theres no proof it wouldnt be the real world. theres plenty of proof the canvas isnt real.
noco story? you skip that? noco clearly doesnt come back the same. hence no souls, just reused paint ink that gets diluted over time.
Are you telling me you literally cannot imagine in your mind right now a clone of yourself?
do you have panic attacks everytime you wake up from a dream and think about the reality you just lost?
So you are saying he would destroy the last piece of his son's soul simply because he is mad at himself?
I think that's what Verso was.
hated by her family
her mother is the only one, and she only says it in the terms of 'her pain is a broken mirror, the shards reflecting back tenfold.' And even that is clearly not hatred, because if she truly hated her, she wouldn't have come back to help her fight Renoir at the end. If her pain is a mirror, then overcoming that pain will heal her relationship with Aline.
And Clea doesn't strike me as hating her either. Thinking her foolish, yes, but she acts like a big sister. She just thinks that Alicia is still a child.
I could dig it, it'd be interesting to see things from Clea's perspective. Plus Clea is pretty cute.
yeah ok Plato, very funny
we all love a fucking "what if nothing is actually real" debate, it is so much fun haha
Painting i like writing but instead of writing words you are writing pictures. And writing is like painting but instead of painting pictures you are painting words
How does not coming back the same mean he doesn't have a soul. That makes no sense. Buddhist and Hindus believes in souls yet they also believe in reincarnation without retaining your memory.
if it takes lying and backstabbing to get his retarded sister to see some shred of reason then so be it, that's based even
So 90% of the game's story is pointless?
If that's how you choose to interpret it, I guess. That would be a pretty shallow and tragic interpretation, though. A thing isn't rendered pointless because it ends. Is a flower pointless because it will eventually wilt and die? Is a shit pointless because it will eventually be flushed? Are all of the games and movies and books you've experienced from start to finish pointless because you're done with them? The value of the world within Verso's canvas doesn't fade when it stops existing. Gustave's love persists beyond the destruction of the canvas, just as it persists beyond his death within the canvas.
they knew verso played music and didnt try to get rid of him so i guess friendly neutral ground.
its not their memory, its their entire existence doesnt come back the same. its reusing paint ink to repaint an old picture. its never the same.
You like a story that is nothing but a girl playing with mindless toys?
alicia could get fucked
she has all her life ahead of having sex
You can't avoid the topic
It's just like when convincing VR is being invented someday, the fact that it is possible will automatically cause eternal uncertainty about the world you have lived in so far being real because convincing VR is indeed possible
The Writers caused the fire
Sure, but I think they just literally set the manor on fire, I don't think there was any magic involved. If the Writers could pull that kind of shit why wouldn't they just write the Painters out of existence? I think you're misinterpreting the Painters and Writers stuff, they're just factions of people with magic powers within the real world.
But you claimed that the events of the story happened to people who ultimately didn't matter. Who cares about Gustave's love, he was never real.
I am pretty sure her pussy is crispy beyond oblivion and cant have sex
well the thing about matrix and this game, is that there are elements that force people to recognize the artificial nature of their worlds
the problem with the dream argument is how it doesn't matter unless you can actually awake from the dream
Thats a weird fetish bro, calm down with your imagination
they should introduce The Dancers next
I think you're misinterpreting the Painters and Writers stuff,
if you read a book you can travel into it like a canvas maybe.
Verso has been a lying backstabber his entire life. He killed his girlfriend.
He betrayed his Father.
He betrayed the expedition by not telling them the truth.
this is the most overrated piece of shit game ever. crazy how the internet is crazy over it.
You can do anything you set your mind to with enough determination
Are you telling me you literally cannot imagine in your mind right now a clone of yourself?
Retard imagining a clone in your mind doesn't give it it's own separate thoughts feelings. How are you this dumb
Because it's not about being real or not being real. The painted world is below real humans. For humans it is meaningless. If there was a world above us, say a world of Gods we would be meaningless compared to their world. Simple as
Whether it is memories or "existence" how does that prove that they don't have souls. You haven't justified that.
Where does one get the Julie journal? Seems I missed that one.
APHANTASIA ALERT! APHANTASIA ALERT!
an npc has a copy of a real persons memories and acts like him
uhhh that means if you kill him its murder
kek no. the only ones in the game that have souls are the dessendre family members.
It's not a real argument because I ignored the rest of the post
Okay shitskin
how do you prove that humans like me and you have souls? This entire souls arguement is retarded
and people in mirrors are real too!
This entire souls arguement is retarded
Well I'm not the one that started talking about souls.
It's just on the world map. Also it turns out Verso is a massive cunt.
I'm saying that if the canvas ended up killing Alicia, he or Clea would probably want to be rid of it, yeah.
Who cares about Gustave's love, he was never real.
Maelle does. Just because it's not real doesn't mean it doesn't matter. Things that are finite and fictional can still leave a lasting impression on you, and can even shape who you are as a person. The world within Verso's canvas isn't real, but to say it doesn't matter is wrong. Destroy it, put Verso's soul to rest, and let Alicia paint her own canvas.
Heroes and antagonists in JRPGs wearing really nice black suits seems to be the only lasting legacy of Versus XIII/XV. Good job, Nomura.
so? like I said if it's betraying painted npcs that's based because it's for the sake of what I deem the greater good, monoco and esquie were in on it too
Your entire post is crying about real life not being a disney movie dumb nigger
Out of curiosity, in verso's ending Sciel gives him a hug and smiles before she gommages, but Lune sits there away seemingly rather upset. Why is that? Was she upset at his choice to erase the world? Or was it something else?
The devs have named their next game Project W for now, seems plausible it has to do with Writers.
On an elevated plateau near old Lumiere iirc.
Maelle's ending is the canon ending, sorry Verso chuds, but you lost.
If the Writers could pull that kind of shit why wouldn't they just write the Painters out of existence.
Could be for the same reason Renoir doesn't just delete the painting, there is a counter force at work, so maybe another Writer counterwrote the events. The fire was apparently so smoll that only 1 person died from it, that makes no sense either if the goal of all writers was to kill the Painters.
Another interpretation I've seen is that Sandfall are the Writers and the fire only killed 1 person and scarred another in the fire because it was enough to set up the story they wanted to write. That means they would have about as little regard for the people in that world as Versofags have for the painted world's inhabitants.
I don't give a shit about Alicia, Verso or the entire Dessendre family
My girl Lune deserved better
The devs really did their homework
It wouldn't be a JRPG without some vague esoteric Gnostic ideas
in verso's ending Sciel gives him a hug and smiles before she gommages
She doesn't.
Was she upset at his choice to erase the world?
was she upset that she and her entire world was being destroyed
Who can know.
Persona is better lmao
humans like me and you
a Wr*ter's hands are behind this post
sciel has accepted death ever since her husband and unborn child died, she was fully willing to die and empathized with verso's suicidal wishes due to his Canvas destroying his (real) family
lune is obviously pissed that verso betrayed them AGAIN and this time her entire world is getting erased
her only regret is not getting more big Verso cock
happy family accepts the past
Vs
retarded kid spends her life in a fake world with clone nps and goes crazy after a while
Gee I wonder what to choose
ok so like, correct me if i am wrong
but do maellafags basically think tulpas are real people?
schoolslop
Low iq
Maelle does.
She shouldn't. It's not real.
Another interpretation I've seen is that Sandfall are the Writers
Oh Christ, please spare me the metafaggotry. It's bad enough that Painters and Writers occupy a core part of the game's worldbuilding. If it were any more on the nose it'd fall off my face.
they probably just don't have any real perspective on the whole "real world" thing outside of it existing. to them it'd be a whole lifetime for Alicia/Maelle in the painting. also they clearly very much like living, and I don't think anyone would ever advocate for the destruction of their entire reality to save the live of one god-like being
vtubers are better than assmongoloid at this game
lol
she was fully willing to die
No she wasn't.
Keep seething
Sciel already lost her husband she knows what grief is and that you need to overcome it.
Lune was a young woman and Verso fucked her up twice
every streamer so desperate for clout chasing they put a new game in a genre theyve never played on expert mode and then act surprised its hard and they gnash their teeth
so mad and full of rage she just sits down and watches Verso vanish
Based Lune
We don't know if they care about that because the game gives zero time towards that. Maybe they had a long and thoughtful discussion about that in Maelle's ending. Maybe they didn't. We will never know.
she literally went into the in-between world to gommage herself and go out on her own terms
He could Solo both Renoir and Aline, then take Maelle and Clea into his harem
being ugly is...LE BAD
She was going to die no matter what. Why does it matter if it is 1 minute shorter or longer.
I'm picturing a confused autistic Verso asking Lune why she looks angry
naw Alan is a hack writer, like that's a pretty big part of the games and why he's stuck for so long.
People let fiction influence their thoughts, feelings, and even decisions all the time. THAT is a healthy amount of escapism. There's nothing wrong with Maelle taking comfort in the love Gustave had for her, just like there's nothing wrong with her taking comfort in the love Verso had for her, despite both no longer existing. They were real to her, and there's nothing wrong in finding comfort in those feelings. It's when she insists on burying herself in a fantasy literally powered by the fumes of Verso's barely-living soul that things become unhealthy. She can remember the good things about Verso's canvas and still let it go.
Maybe I misremembered a part, but that was the general gist.
Alright, that makes sense. Sciel's family was torn up, she doesn't want his and Maelle's to be as well.
because it shows that she has the balls to kill herself and isn't afraid of death, unlike lune who sits and seethes at the barrier
he is also a piece of fiction and not real
He couldn't even save Saga from being blackwashed.
Maybe I misremembered a part, but that was the general gist.
She touches the back of his hand.
I can totally see that being true though
They did it on one level, why not on another
In Clair Obscur 2 the main character will turn around and talk to the player "Please, stop the Writers... stop buying their games"
why can't i fucking stop thinking about this game?
Sciel understands why Verso made his decision, of course she doesn't agree with it but she isn't mad at him about it either
Was it ever explaoned why did their mom made the monolith and thanos snapped everyone every year?
i have itty bitty baby
There's nothing wrong with Maelle taking comfort in the love Gustave had for her
It's wrong because it isn't real. It's just the simulacra of love. It doesn't actually exist. It's like taking comfort in Elmo past the age of 5.
The smartest anon in this thread. Please tell me what ending you chose
JRPG Alan Wake would be a cool sequel
it's time to let the canvas alone, anon
t. reinstalling it
Alan would job himself out of existence
did you finish the game dude? but aline needed chroma to repair other parts of the world being destroyed by renoir so she slowly took chroma from the lumerians.
I'm not sure what's up with it being a Monolith but the yearly countdown was Renoir's doing, not hers
It's because it amused her
Did you skip every cutscene or something?
Because its a pretty good story with a lot to think about.
The whole game is fantastic and the ending is just the cherry on top.
Both of them are emotionally poignant.
It's wrong because it isn't real. It's just the simulacra of love. It doesn't actually exist.
People believe and find comfort in things that aren't real all the time. As I said, that's the healthy amount of escapism the game is promoting. If it feels real and you decide to believe it's real, who's to say it wasn't real? Especially in regards to something as ephemeral as love. Does love ever actually exist, or is it just something we perceive?
So it is a jrpg.
It has an actual touching story that stays with you. I finished it yesterday morning and I have been thinking about the damn endings all weekend
There are people who believe that the Gustave we see in Maelle's ending is the same one we play as and not Maelle's idealized/controlled recreation
There are people who believe that OG Gustave would've been okay with Maelle slowly killing herself just to keep Lumiere's existence
She's practically his daughter, multiple times he's willing to put her life over the success of the expedition.
The entire point of the game is dealing with grief, moving forward and breaking the cycles you are trapped in.
Maelle's ending simply creates a new cycle without gommage, but with a monolith that counts down for her death instead of Aline's.
No. Smelly whore. But she wouldn't actaully do that.
It's never properly explained all at once, the tl;dr is
Paintress wants to save everyone
Curator (Renoir) wants to delete everyone
Paintress is stronger but Clea gives Renoir the edge with the nevrons which prevent chroma from returning to the Paintress, which she needs to maintain the world and its inhabitants
to conserve chroma the Paintress starts counting down from 100 and allowing the deletion of whoever is that age, she displays the countdown so the people who are that age can appreciate exactly how much time they have left and get closure before their time is up
Sciel tells Verso that she'd do the same things he was doing if it was her husband instead of Aline
there are people who believe Gustave would destroy his entire world just so he could go against Maelle's expressed wishes
despite allowing her to go on an expedition that had a very high risk of killing her 9 years too early
Why can't Gustave impregnate Maelle?
So? She still doesn't hug him.
he's dead
Wouldn't that just mean she's been masturbating a lot or something
It's just massive cope, Gustave would respect the wishes of his adopted daughter/little sister. The Verso ending pushers are the same ones that were coping about the game being a smash hit. They are contrarian by nature and are just trying to gaslight everyone into being retarded like they are. The writers guild is not sending their best.
This, it's why I assume the people in the painting in Maelle's ending are memory-wiped. I can't believe Lune and Sciel would be okay with this.
If Gustave knew the truth about the reality of his world I somehow doubt he'd be comfortable letting Maelle waste away in it. I don't think he'd be chomping at the bit to let his world be destroyed, but the idea that he'd just play along knowing Maelle is essentially killing herself with unresolved grief is insane. If Maelle willingly left the canvas there's be no reason to destroy it, but everyone including Maelle knows she can't and won't leave unless forced, which necessitates its destruction. It's a sad little cycle where the canvas can't survive unless Maelle accepts Verso's death, but she won't accept Verso's death until the canvas is destroyed.
verso ending: bright and happy as people process grief
maelle ending : grey and somber and everyone looks miserable, maelle bleeding chroma
maelle enders will look at this and be like yeah we took the good ending.
My point is there wouldnt be a forced choice of destroying the canvas if the adults in the painted world reasoned with her and told her to reunite with her real family and then she could come back from time to time to have fun like Clea did.
Goes to show how talented of a paintress Aline is. Really captured his essence.
She wasn't supposed to be happy the second she left the painting, idiot.
She still has mountains to overcome, but Verso knows she can overcome it. It will take time, it will be painful, it will be the hardest thing she will ever have to do. But she'll be alive, living in the real world. Not playing God in some fantasy land, going insane like her mother.
This is the greatest outcome for Maelle. As much as it hurts, it is the correct choice.
I only chose this ending because I want to believe that she went on and created her own world to escape to. Poor thing doesn't deserve what she's going through. No one does. God I'd spend 15 hours a day helping her paint her escapism
Look at this face and try to tell me he's actually happy
If Gustave knew the truth about the reality of his world I somehow doubt he'd be comfortable letting Maelle waste away in it
Why?
but the idea that he'd just play along knowing Maelle is essentially killing herself with unresolved grief is insane
Going on the expedition is called suicide multiple times by multiple people in the prologue. Yet he still allows her to go because it is what she wants.
He is also presented with a similar choice after they visit the gestral village. Gustave suggest that Maelle should stay in the village because she would be safer there. Yet she says that she wants to keep going and he allows it. Even though they have already seen the death of most of the expedition.
If Maelle willingly left the canvas there's be no reason to destroy it
Renoir would still destroy it to keep Aline from it.
She strokes his hand, I guess the other anon means that she shows some kind of affection/understanding towards Verso.
There was no reasoning with Alicia, that's the point. Renoir gives up and fucks off because she would rather stab him with a sword in the fictional world than listen to him. I do think it's a narrative cop-out that the painting couldn't be stashed away by a 3rd party so the family doesn't have access to it until they're in a more reasonable mindset, but the game is pretty clear in showing that Alicia cannot be reasoned with.
UM ACTUALLY YOU SEE THIS IS THE GOOD ENDING BECAUSE SHE JUST WANTS TO SPEND A LITTLE MORE TIME IN THE PAINTING AND THEN SHE'LL LEAVE AND BE HAPPY :)
PLEASE PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE UNSETTLING MUSIC AND IMAGERY, OR THE SUDDEN CUT TO A CREEPY DEPICTION OF OUR MAIN CHARACTER, COMPLETE WITH SCARE CHORD
The one that hurts like hell?
Escapism... le bad
Hack writers
okay so people are legit arguing that 2 people deciding to "move on" is apparently more important than not omniciding a whole continent of people? Lol. People also forget what Maelle's condition is irl. Why wouldn't you want to live in a perfect world, seen over by a omnipotent Goddess?
inb4 irl is better
lmao
when does this happen
Exactly, the one that hurts like hell.
whole continent of people?
none of them are alive at the end of the game anyway.
Yeah thats pretty sad because even Renoir could be reasoned with and Im sure he wouldnt destroy the painting if both his wife and daughter stopped being overemotional and calmed down in the real world.
Wait, where the hell was this? I don't remember this cutscene.
Coal
Gem
Because Verso killed them.
And the platforming minigame wasn't even good
>PLEASE PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE UNSETTLING MUSIC AND IMAGERY, OR THE SUDDEN CUT TO A CREEPY DEPICTION OF OUR MAIN CHARACTER, COMPLETE WITH SCARE CHORD
This is how you spot midwits. They're easily manipulated by spooky music and camera tricks. If Maelle ending was in color and had happy music and Verso's ending was in B&W and had sad music you would be saying the opposite.
Oh no. It's almost like she's becoming exactly like her mother. The game totally didn't draw parallels between the two the entire fuckin' time. Choosing to reject reality and stay inside a painting that is proven to cause mental illness with exposure is totally the good ending. Not allowing Verso and anyone else to exercise his free will is completely okay. Nothing ever went wrong with a human playing God.
There are people who unironically find no issue with Maelle's ending and it makes me sick as hell.
mother makes her painted version an ugly cripple too
burns Maelle's face the second she encounters her
even in the ending she bitch slaps Sirene, Renoir's representation of Alicia
Thats a lot of debuffs, why didnt she get out of the Morbols breath?
if the visual and audio elements of the ending was telling a different story people would think differently about it!!!!
wow I never considered that before. you must be some kind of genius
There are people who unironically find no issue with Maelle's ending and it makes me sick as hell.
Said by the person who sees no issue with mass murder.
no renoir did.
Sirene is Aline
Reacher is Alicia
Maelle's face melting into Chroma in color instead of black and white means it would be happy!
The fuck are you on? The audacity to call someone else a midwit.
This, you could hear how bonkers the mother was when they met her Paintress form. She couldnt even tell that the Verso she saw was her own creation.
Which he only could do because of Verso's actions.
The lengths Verso went through just to kill himself is very relatable, and based.
Never cut out the Clea figurine bro...
continent
nigga it's a tiny island
It's one of the "check on the others" scenes at the campsite right after getting Monoco, before going to old Lumiere.
You know you're wrong anon and yet you still persist. The black/blue effect around the eyes is just painter mode, you saw it before with Aline and Renoir in the epilogue of Act 2. She has to fix the damage Papa/Clea have done to the world. Alicia loved her big brother and she wants to keep the last bit of him that is left intact.
All the expeditions up until that point all contributed to their own doom as well lol
I think Gustave's outlook would fundamentally change if he knew the true nature of the world. If he had any love for Maelle he wouldn't want this for her.
IF YOU TAKE A SAD CUTSCENE AND MAKE IT HAPPY IT'S NOT SAD ANYMORE, YOU'RE JUST BEING MANIPULATED!!!
They did it because they thought they were saving their people. Verso did it knowing it would kill everyone.
I think Gustave's outlook would fundamentally change if he knew the true nature of the world
Why?
Recto verso
Expedition 60... it would've been amazing to serve with them.
renoir is better painter than verso. he could do all that himself.
this.
Verso is a weeniehutjrs that couldn't do shit until Gustave came along with the lumina convertor. It's no wonder he was suicidal, he just traveled around getting his ass kicked on the regular.
Why didn't painted Verso and painted Renoir just explain everything and direct the Expeditions toward the Curator instead of the Paintress?
he could do all that himself.
Yet he hadn't in 67 years.
Im just pointing out because its funny, theyre like dumb Sims npcs
because aline was fighting him, not that verso wasnt helping him.
actually i take that back, the regent is aline, sirene is renoirs. hence they fight at the end.
They tried. Read the Julie and Verso journals.
The combat in this game looks REALLY shit, like REALLY shit
Because he's a logical guy with a brain for science, and because he loves Maelle very dearly. The idea of him knowing that the world he inhabits is ultimately a fiction that is slowly killing the real Maelle and being 100% completely okay with this just strikes me as bizarre.
The idea of him knowing that the world he inhabits is ultimately a fiction
It's not. It's real.
BOW WOW WOW
BOW WOW
BOW WOW WOW
WOW
BOW WOW
Murder? He saved the only real people. There is a very scary thing Renoir says during his final confrontation.
We've created hundreds of worlds!
This painting is not a magical, one of a kind fluke. It is one of hundreds all like it. It is only this one that is "important" because it's Verso's canvas, and his family doesn't want to leave it.
It's Verso's canvas, he's haunted by memories that aren't his own, a creation of a grieving God.
The Relationship 7 dialogue with Monoco tells you why he's doing it. And both Monoco and Esquie know his plans, and accept them. Because it's Verso's life this Canvas is built around. And he should have the final say. Not Maelle. She can go make her own Canvas.
If he had any love for Maelle he wouldn't want this for her.
i'm sure gustave would totally choose a world where he's dead & she lives as a stunted disfigured fuckup where the writers will probably end up killing her @ some point like her family instead of living out their days together.
The Verso that created the canvas is dead. Painted Verso did not create the canvas. He has no greater claim to it than anyone else.
this reminds me of people who become too attached to pets
you will always outlive your dog or cat
The only reason that didn't work was because they didn't explain EVERYTHING. I mean EVERYTHING everything. Start with being immortal and work your way down from there. It's a little bizarre that Verso gets away with lying by omission about fundamentally important shit like, four different times over the course of the story.
I noticed that Maellefags see the painted world as our world, they literally think there is some higher dimension/existence above us that could destroy us if it could so thats why they relate to painted world people more.
I've watched people react to the ending and even the biggest retard feels Maelle's ending is bad.
correct, they immediately see it as us when theres no reason to when we are closer to the painters.
most of Anon Babble are Maellefags because they too wish to submerge themselves in fiction and escape real life
versofags: you have to die, lose everything & everyone you care about to go back to a world where everyone you cherish is dead
maellechads:
It's over panican, you lost. Maelle's ending in the canon ending.
when theres no reason to when we are closer to the painters
I've never created a world full of sentient beings.
BILLIONS MUST DIE
He has the real Verso's personality and memories, even Renoir mentions he's one of Aline's finest (re)creations.
There's also real Verso's soul who is tired of keeping the canvas alive.
There's no way real Verso, who gave his life to save Maelle, would not willingly destroy the canvas himself to save her and their mother.
He asks the actual fragment of his soul if he wants to stop painting and it says yes.
She was completely fucking nuts. She couldn't tell reality from the canvas anymore. If the eyes are windows into the soul, she has no fucking face.
So essentially with Maelle, you've got two options.
She can live in the real world, and struggle with the challenges before her and hopefully overcome them with time and find inner peace.
Or, she stays in the Canvas playing make believe until she ultimately goes insane and ends up causing another Fracture or something.
There is hope when Maelle gets booted out of the Canvas, there is no hope when she stays inside of it.
thats because they arent sentient.
There's no way real Verso, who gave his life to save Maelle, would not willingly destroy the canvas himself to save her and their mother.
He's dead so his opinion doesn't matter anymore. Leave the decisions to the living.
This is a Anon Babbleerso board.
It's also the only decent end Alicia has.
That stare Lune gives you during Verso's ending just kills me man... I'm sorry mon ami... maybe in another canvas... me and you...
Like his soul.
Or Renoir and Clea.
Aline and Alicia are mentally ill so they don't count.
I looked up a handful of people playing the game through my favorite scenes and it surprised a bit me when none of them even teared up when I did. Bros am I depressed ?
I intentionally let gustave die, lol
Nooo, you killed my sister, this is completely different, because it just is, ok
Versofags everyone
Everyone that would be in Maelle's state would do the same. Not one desperately crippled person is advocating for the "real" world
one of the best songs in the game
Then Renoir or Clea should have the final say since Alicia and Aline doesn't count since they are just going to die because they want to stay in the canvas.
Sciel is closer to his canon relationship anyway.
He even quotes her during his fight against Maelle.
Except Gustave created the lumina converter, which made overthrowing Aline possible. I am not sure you know what sentience means anon.
Why would a mother do this to her own daughter even if she is responsible for her son's death.
Grief doesn't excuse everything. I didn't pick the Verso ending because of this.
Maelle would be 100% more happy in her delusional fantasyland larping as a goddess than being next to this piece of shit of a "mother".
Versocucks even were emotional when this whore was embracing Renoir on the grave in their cuck alternate ending.
You all make me sick, hope your mother never hate you.
Going to die is not the same as dead.
neet board
verso
where everyone you cherish is dead
Her family is still alive.
The only person she cares about in the whole canvas is Verso. She admits this herself.
What would Maelle do once she becomes the divine ruler? I meant with all the power in the world (literally), what is she doing now?
I LITERALLY only care for Gustave, Lune and Sciel.
I'll secure their safety and existence before all, fuck your demiurge family.
I have no idea why these threads even exist when they boil down to the exact same conversation, with the exact same statements every time, all packaged within the schizo trying to force memes while answering to himself.
What is even the point? It's like a general, but worse because the majority of you don't even seem to like the game anyway, specially the schizo.
which made overthrowing Aline possible
Just sped it up
Aline had like ten years left tops with the gommages.
y), what is she doing now?
pretending shes on an adventure with her big brother and friends.
Maelle stopped existing after Act II.
There are still NCR vs House and the occasional Legion chud happening every week anon
She fucks the shotas
Yes, and somehow those have some degree of discussion as retarded as they are.
These threads are just,
MY headcanon is valid, YOUR headcanon isn't
These are all assumptions since this is all purposely vague bullshit
Hurdy durdy
And then the schizo swooping in spamming "mentally ill", "autism" and "junkie" in every sentence and everyone takes the bait immediately, though most likely it's just himself.
Like, I get it if anyone wants to have a discussion but nobody here seems to actually want to discuss anything.
Aline is a bitch, Alicia deserves way better than what she got and painted Verso is just a sad loser with an inferiority complex. He could've been way nicer to his sister, but instead all he did is wallow in pity that he was the lesser version of a great man that everyone loved. He never was content with his life and sabotaged everyone around him, starting with Julie and other expeditions and ultimately Gustave and Maelle.
She's 100% going to bog herself. After getting her face fixed, she'll work on other shit.
That's the "kill me pete" smile
She can always leave her house, paint another canvas just like verso's and live the tranny life
deny reality for the sake of a conforting yet hollow lie
Maellefags have 0 reading comprehension
He's not telling her to live out as a miserable cripple in the real world.
He's telling her to move on from real Verso's death and make her own canvases.
She could easily recreate all the Lumerians in a canvas of her own, but she doesn't really care about them anymore. She wants Verso's soul to play house with her.
Congratulations, you've escaped the event horizon of anonymous shitflinging.
Now focus on higher quality posts, like complaining about builds, blatant waifuniggery image dumps, spying on Sandfall's socials and trolling GOTY threads until we get info on the film adaptation.
I mean they die if she leaves soooo
She set off to undo the damage that Renoir/Clea had done, that is why her eyes do the thing, she was in painter mode.
Maelle's decision is what matters.
It should be left to the living
Then how could you respond to me earlier, saying Verso committed mass murder, when you yourself say their opinions don't matter? Because they're not alive, they don't have souls.
You are running around in circles trying to justify something you're not able to even articulate properly. No offense.
is there a mod that multiplies the enemies' health by like 50 yet?
She was in Painter mode because she was literally repainting Verso so he plays the piano... dude... you gotta be real, she's mentally gone in her ending.
She'll be so much happier!
Prolonged exposure to the canvas causes mental illness and downright insanity ultimately leading to death
Are you retarded?
cuck Sophie
Point taken. I suppose I ought do, a variant of that. Rather than being shocked that the pile of shit is smelly, so to speak.
Search "Nick Gurr's Stronger Nevrons" mod on Nexusmods. Beefs up the mobs in multiple ways.
There are mods that cap your damage, which is essentially the same thing.
Anon, talking it out with Alicia would solve the game's conflict so we clearly can't do it.
Is really the only load bearing pillar of this story that
I am LE LOCO
What's she thinking at this moment?
You could just use the damage limit mods, same deal.
Or drop picto power.
based
The fire was apparently so smoll that only 1 person died from it, that makes no sense either if the goal of all writers was to kill the Painters.
The fire affected just one section of the manor. When you play as Alicia you can go and see that it just affected the upper levels, with the path to it being boarded up and Alicia commenting on the reconstruction.
If I were to make a guess, given how they talk about Alicia being too trusting and that's how the Writers got to kill Verso, the likely flow of events is that Writers formed a false friendship with Alicia.
Then, on a day where Renoir, Aline, and Clea weren't around, Alicia invited them up to the manor.
The writers were going to burn the place down to get rid of all the paintings, but didn't count on Verso being there, who ends up saving Alicia, the manor, and the paintings, all at the cost of his own life.
Nigga he's manipulating her because he wants to die. That's ALL he cares about. Everything else is just gaslighting to achieve that goal
100% he's a self pitying loser, he has a history of fucking people over to get what he wants
Thinking?
Imagine being sad with a body like that.
Wrong.
Aline gave birth to him by painting him into existence to be her son. Even if it's not a biological birth, for all intents and purposes Aline being her creator makes Aline her mother, and therefore her family.
I like her this way, she can't scream.
So, if Verso gets repainted to play it again, and Sciel gets her husband back, who puts the filling in Lune's wonton? Will Gustave get his oneitis back?
Based retard who literally doesn't bother to accept what the game tells him because of a hate boner towards a character.
Everything he did, and the game tells you many times, did it for his family. Aline is the only mother he knew and he has the original verso's memories of Alicia.
you lost someone you loved
feel constant pain
just get over it bro
I've lost my dad when i was 26 (34 now) it NOT that easy you fucking Verso faggots
Esquie
He's not telling you to get over it.
He's telling you to stop doing heroine instead of trying to get over it.
Stray dogs in the alleyways of Lumiere
Hey don't worry bro, you can just make new worlds.
I am guessing that's what you care about and not the fact I am killing all your family and friends.
Yeah, it's probably that.
God Painted Verso is so garbage even The Visage is more honest and helpful than him.
Any mods to give Maelle a normal human ass?
not the fact I am killing all your family and friends.
She... literally doesn't, she only cares it has Verso's soul inside.
Exactly like Aline.
She says so herself.
She's going to ask Maelle to bring back all those Mamadous from the prologue
Morally correct-tards are really funny
Why is Maelle wrong for stopping someone from killing himself? Lets even go further than that. People tell Maelle should cope with the real world. Why cant a certain someone cope with the state he is in now? Why is it fair that one person should suffer a fate others condemn her to suffer, yet she is a monster for condemning another person to live. Irl letting someone kill himself or even assisting in suicide is a crime.
I want to have sex with Maelle in a state where it's illegal just for the extra thrill of breaking that retarded law
Show us, anon.
If the eyes are windows into the soul, she has no fucking face.
She literally didn't have one.
Gustave gets Lune, Maelle and Sophie.
Even her own ending proves that all she cares about anymore is Verso's carbon copy.
If all she wanted was to live a happy life in Lumiere she'd let Verso die when he wanted to, like with painted Alicia.
Painted Verso is a drug and she's and addict just like her mother.
She's too cute for that mask.
That she can be with her man and her baby. Sciel doesn't hate the idea of death, she almost finds peace in it. She's very open to this to Verso. Only much later do you find out why. Sciel hates herself
i just watched a video where some guy thinks sciel and lune are lesbians because of the camp scene where sciel wishes they spent more time together in less hopeless contexts, these are the people who come on the internet to give their opinion on something btw
OK but can someone explain why Aline chose to make painted Alicia a burn victim when she could've just made her pre-fire??
Actually play the ending? In Verso's version she's all she can think about and in her own version she repaints him even though it's the one thing he asked her not to do.
Maelle cares about the canvas because it's Verso's and that's where the whole argument with her dad comes from.
Again, play the fucking game.
She doesn't even like painted Verso though. Unless you buy the theory that Gustave is also a different version of painted Verso from a different painter
reading reps anon.
real verso died to save maelle
painted verso wants to save maelle too and instead in her ending hes forced to watch her slowly die from canvas exposure.
Verso is the real tranny! Can't cope with who he really is, life is suffering, wants to join the 42%.
Aline blames her for Verso's death and kept her as is.
Ah, it's just the headcanon schizo. Sorry, didn't actually want to entertain you. Accept my concession, you are totes right.
because she hates her daughter
No, we dont know what would happen if she willingly left the painting
why didnt she get out of the Morbols breath?
well she is used to standing in fire
That's the point of the ACKpedition all along, baby
mother copes with dead son by ruining his only painting
erm......
you turn the audio off and close your eyes during the confrontation with Renoir? he tries to talk it out with her
We don't know what. They have other canvases too lying around, it isn't known if they're in stasis or not, or maybe the presence of painters speeds up time but they go more slowly without them.
Verso's canvas will never be untainted by the others again
What's the point?
Painted Verso just needs to stop being a baby and appreciate the life he was given and enjoy the people around him. Had he done that from the start, everyone would've been happier.
She's a bitch that won't stop blaming her and wishes Alicia is the one that died which is why she's devoid of color as well. Alicia is precious and deserves to be cherished.
Her father told her, over and over, to give it up.
She wouldn't.
She also knows she fucked up when she saw Verso in soul verso's area because she can't make excuses anymore and she starts talking like a drug addict.
You Verso faggots
You literally described Clea. And she's not even over it. Nobody is telling you to just get over it, but this is not the way to handle it. The canvas is proven to be an unhealthy way of coping.
Maelle wasnt obsessed with that specific canvas because of Verso like her mother was. She was obsessed because of that malfunction where they lived her entire formative years in there without knowledge of her real life. Not sure what caused that though.
why does maille have all these weird little black dots by her cheeks
no one looks like thatdont tell me those are frckles, i know what freckles look like
appreciate the life he was given and enjoy the people around him.
live as you know your sister is od'ing herself while she can manipulate you at will
Sure, enjoy life.
YWNBAM
You will never be a real Maelle. You have no finesse, you have no precision, you have no grace. You are a drug addict twisted by chroma into a crude mockery of nature’s perfection.
All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Verso is disgusted and ashamed of you, Luna, Monoco and Sciel laugh at your white hair behind campfire.
Painters are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of fine art evolution have allowed artists to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even paintings who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to a painter. Your chroma structure is a dead giveaway.
You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.
He did that from the start and they tortured him. Then everyone he cared about started dying around him over and over and over. He was tired.
She didn't ruin anything, she went in there to be with him, to the point where she even recreated him right down to his looks and memories, which is the Verso we know. When Renoir went into the canvas to get Aline out their fighting ruined it, that's what the Fracture was. Clea made it worse by throwing the Nevrons in.
Unless you buy the theory that Gustave is also a different version of painted Verso from a different painter
What kind of retard came up with that theory when the game plainly states that Lumiere and all it's citizens were made by Aline? Why the fuck would Aline make her son Verso and another Verso but not her son? Hell, why would she make a second one 35 in painting years later with the thoughts and belief that Aline needs to die?
I feel like its implied that this family is somewhat wealthy, well connected and popular on top of having magical world creating powers. She will be fine in due time.
Maelle wasnt obsessed with that specific canvas because of Verso like her mother was
Rewatch her fucking conversation with Renoir.
Or her own death scene.
It's ALL about it being Verso's canvas and having its soul. She can't bear to part with him again.
When will the DLC get announced realistically? They're already working on it from what I heard. I guess maybe at TGA?
"Please dont leave me again" Maellicia is simply starting to lose it and views painted Verso as her real brother. She wants to live in the painted world only because he's there.
Why didnt she replace versos soul with her own so verso could move on
happy family ending
vs
maielle is connectoed to matrix in her delusional world, and because her selfishness she refuses to let Verso finally rest
Clea very explicitly states Alicia and Aline can and should do whatever they want; if they want to paint until they die and that is their way, she sees no problem with it.
She even tells Alicia that she owes nobody an explanation and she should strive to just do what she feels she needs at the end of the Eternal Tower.
She will be fine in due time.
Not if I have anything to say about it.
If the Writers don't finish her off then yeah
she sees no problem with it
She's just fed up with the grieving retards in her family. If you actually think she'd let Alicia kill herself you are retarded.
This, it should be destroyed because the purity it used to represent has been tainted. Even if Maelle "fixes" everything it will be corrupted by her grief for Verso. What was the last part of his soul has been misused and become a world of death, destruction, and tragedy.
She hates Alicia's guts, plain and simple. All of her painted family is a reflection of what she wishes for her real one.
Renoir who still puts his family above everything else, but only when it's what she wants
Clea who is not a bitch and dates so she can give her grandchildren
Alicia forever suffering for killing her favorite child
The only one who doesn't obey her 100% is Verso, who acts exactly like the real one would thanks to being created in that canvas.
Headcanon then. Got it.
Alicia is fine and she has new purpose. She was going to paint the outside world for Lune and her family/friends, so she could show them all that there is outside the canvas. So yes she will be leaving the canvas from time to time and won't be od'ing on it.
is she still a lesbian after you know what?
Bros, I just CANNOT with the Maellejunkies.
b-buh muh mass genocide!!!!!
maellesimps are fucking deranged
they were never "people" in the first place. It'd be like shaking clear an etch-a-sketch of a stick figure.
ywn have hot psycho painter/writer sex with clea
tips for dealing with this feel?
So yes she will be leaving the canvas from time to time and won't be od'ing on it.
Oh come on anon.
FYI this is the shittiest argument in the planet that has been shut down a dozen times already and just undermines your point, refrain from using it.
Blame Aline and painted Verso. Aline was mean to her, for no reason and painted Verso ignored her, because he was too busy feeling sorry for himself to notice anyone around him.
Just finished the game. WTF should I do tomorrow? I was playing it everyday since release, I was so invested in it. Fuck
You can tell she's the kind of girl who will be very good in bed
Would the writers even be able to do anything with Clea going all Solid Snake on their asses? The writers know where they live, you'd think they'd go back to finish the job specially with Aline and Renoir having a real fucked up couple's crisis going on, but they suspiciously haven't.
Well her wish for Verso is also just for him to still be alive.
They die.
Time passes a lot quicker in the painting than in real life, but time still passes. Maybe not in a hundred years, but what happens if you spend 500 years in a painting? Maybe a few days have passed in real life, or a week or two.
What would Maelle do once she becomes the divine ruler
she kept painted verso ALIVE despite his please for the sweet release of death, because she loves her brother, I'm sure she would just repeat her mother's mistakes and she would paint another fake family, which eventually would result in conflict and death once she dies inside the canvas or is forced to leave the canvas
Despite what Clea says it should be pretty obvious that she wouldn't actually want Alicia to let herself die, especially at the expense of Verso's soul. Just from a purely mathematical standpoint she would want everyone out of the canvas to fight the Writers. Alicia rotting away in the canvas would just serve to further distract Renoir and Aline from the actual important shit happening in the real world.
Why does Maelle use her 4th dimensional God-like ability to restrict Verso's desire to die, after he's lived an unnatural life of over 100 years. Dealing with de-personalization, suicidal thoughts, depression, and a looming existential dread.
Why should Verso have to negotiate his life with Maelle? You don't get to dictate that to him.
I'll just make you age then
Bitch, that's not what he asked for. He was created in the likeness of real Verso, but without a soul. His desire to die, and pull both Aline and Alicia out of the canvas is completely understandable.
I don't want this life
I don't want this life
I don't want this life
And even then, Maelle won't let him go. Now you'll play the piano.
Mr. Guillaume said they're considering DLC if there is demand for it, but for now their focus is "on the base game".
What that means, I have no idea. Other than some bugfixes, maybe rebalancing the bosses for the third act, I have no idea what else they mean.
Would be kino if they do DLC expansions anyway but just give them for free in the base game, who knows
what do people see in this broad, she was just a cunt for all her screen time
Clea clearly wrecked them after the fire so no one dares approach the Dessendre manor.
Do the side content. Find and defeat painted Clea. Find and defeat Simon.
Homos like you wouldn't understand
I’m doing clean up after beating the game and found the journal where Renoir tells Maelle that she’ll find happiness again. Obviously he’s retarded because growing up looking like an over cooked chicken nugget while being brow beaten by your family for over their son’s death doesn’t seem like happiness to me. Maelle ending best ending.
Why don't (You) become a Writer and go write your own ending?
Hot
A cunt
What more do you want in a woman?
Do we actually know what/who the Writers are?
implying the situation painted Verso is in and the situation Alicia is in are remotely similar
Painted Verso is over a hundred years old, has been interrogated and tortured by people he cared for at least once, has been maimed and blown apart many times, and has watched hundreds of people die around him. His suffering makes Alicia's pale in comparison.
lune is hot, that man jaw clea isnt
A penis
why the fuck they are so scared Maelle and the canvas people could live their life together and happy?
nooo ypu must accept what happened and suffer your whole remaining life
Episode Simon
Episode Gustave
Expedition 60
"the monster was actually my grief over my dead son" is the gayest thing in modern movies and my gay detector was going crazy the second I saw this game.
Aline makes painted Alicia look like the burnt cookie she is IRL
wtf?? what a horrible mom if that's how she see's her daughter
Aline makes painted Alicia look normal
wtf?? what a horrible mom not accepting how her daughter looks
There's no winning...
No.
You know I'm right anon.
no argument
I accept your concession
That's my point. Even Renoir says that Clea is waging a one woman war so all the shitposting about the writers going off to finish the job is just silly. They can't even handle one snarky french girl.
the plunging neckline shirt helps.
Reminder that Versofags are mentally insane and in a hypothetical scenario where if some divine being or Aliens came to earth and said they were going to kill everything on the planet because they created us and don't view us as alive they would work to sabotage any sort of effort to fight back. Backstabbing traitors the lot of them.
She didn't even give her full coloring.
As presented in game? Ostensibly a plot device with not much relevance, either worldbuilding flavor, sequel bait, or tongue in cheek self reference from the devs.
wtf?? what a horrible mom not accepting how her daughter looks
I doubt most people would interpret it this way, it's not like she made the fantasy Verso a charred skeleton.
Reminder that if Gustave had survived just a bit longer to hear the name Renoir he'd have immediately recognize it as the commander of Expedition Zero.
It's the opposite anon. Maellefags are mentally insane and believe in schizo shit like aliens, gods, religion etc.
they are the protagonists
That hypothetical is totally different from the circumstances in the game but sure, whatever makes you feel better about your choice.
She wasn't though, she is just a non nonsense kind of person. She clearly cares for her family and her blood is boiling, because she wants to avenge her brother. She never favored Renoir over Aline, she just thought helping him would speed things up in resolving their dispute.
It is applying the same logic that you use to invalidate Luminerians as "fake" and "NPC", just moved one step above in the cosmological scale.
Be a man and have some balls, say that Renoir and Verso do in fact want to kill millions because it's the right thing to do.
Clea is creating Nevrons explicitly to help Renoir, By keeping Chroma away from The Paintress.
You're right, that fragment of her soul in the Endless Tower does say something like, "You should do whatever makes you happy"
But to infer that Clea doesn't care, or at the very least doesn't have a stake in all of this is absurd. You can't trust everything she says opposed to what she's doing. Actions speak louder than words, and Clea decided to cope by shutting off.
why did renoir lead the first expedition anyway? Was it to have them send themselves to him to drain aline of chroma?
there are anons ITT who wouldn't destroy an entire civilization to save their mom
Did you guys at least wish her a happy mother's day?
Somewhat wealthy
What about this golden guilded mansion would give you that impression?
This makes it funny that people keep on going like Verso killed a million people.
The notion that Gustave would immediately pin down a random French dude named Renoir as the captain of E0 means there was never a lot of Lumierians to begin with, as they can all be identified on a first name basis.
Nigga wasn't even dressed like an expeditioner like Verso was and somehow just hearing the name Renoir would have made Gustave go "wait, that's the Expedition Zero boss"!
Painted Verso is the actual child. He's like that one guy who sued his parents, because he wishes he was never born. It's all because he doesn't think he can ever measure up to who Verso was. He spends the whole game in the shadow of Verso, instead of just being himself.
Don't think there were that many of them but sure I don't care if a bunch of npcs in a painting die because I live in a dimension above them.
like Verso killed a million people.
There are a lot a lot of corpses though. And that's just on the continent, most of them are under the ocean.
I doubt they knew they were painted creations before meeting Clea at the barrier.
She knows they are immortal which means she probably tried to kill them right there and then.
its a painting, its only animated due to Maelle's magic and her family's. The moment they stop providing magic the painted world will end.
nope. other than the fact that theres probably other types of people with similar powers in their real world or some shit like that. at least thats how i saw it as.
it was most likely left open on purpose for sequels.
I don't care if a bunch of npcs in a painting die because I live in a dimension above them.
And to the aliens/cherubim/Q you are the NPC, that's the crux of your argument. Those below you are as real as you.
yeah but why was renoir leading an expedition at all? or were the original expeditions renoir going on an adventure with verso? he himself wanting to see verso again.
The moment they stop providing magic the painted world will end.
Nobody really knows if that's true, they seem to jump into/out of other canvases just fine without having to be full time batteries for them.
It’s beautiful 10/10 game. It’s not my second favorite game with Elden Ring being my first. I’ve beaten Act 3 and did 99% of the side content. I wish it wasn’t over :(
Ok schizo
How do they even make so much money? They don't fucking work, their son was a NEET playing the piano in his mid 20s
It's powered by Verso's soul, which will presumably keep it "alive" until it decides to stop or otherwise fades from existence. The fact that stowing the canvas somewhere doesn't seem to be a permanent solution suggests Verso's soul would keep it running forever.
yeah but why was renoir leading an expedition at all?
Because the fracture happened.
Verso outright states in the story that Expedition Zero's purpose was search and rescue.
Interactive furry art canvas commissions
Aline is head of the painters council, which is implied to have political power in the real world.
My guess is that she gave herself and her family similar positions of power, the journals do mention a council in Lumiere.
Furry-
Fuck, beat me to it.
everything in that world runs on magic, its also mentioned that "old" magic is weaker meaning it decays
its reasonable to assume that her family's magic is required for the magic painted world to function.
Verso outright states in the story that Expedition Zero's purpose was search and rescue.
Can we trust him? He lies about everything else.
He's made to be immortal. To exist forever. In a place he doesn't want to be in. He tried to kill himself, didn't work. Got sliced in half, didn't work.
At least with Heaven, people want to go there and be all immortal and shit. But Verso didn't want this, Verso understands the reality of the situation entirely. He knows he's in a painting, he knows he's locked away from the real world.
Can you imagine that level of dread? To know you have no soul, no redemption, no hope, none of the things that makes a human a human. But created to be an exact replica of the real one. A clone.
You wouldn't want that life either.
Verso outright states
implying you can trust a word coming out of his mouth.
So does everyone in the Dessedre family not named Clea. You pick your battles.
Just scrape a bit of paint from the canvas and use it on your next painting, you now have a bit of old chroma to use to bring back people from the previous world, problem solved.
We do find a journal entry from a member of Search and Rescue that makes it sound like Verso tried to make them believe the Paintress wasn't the culprit, but it's never actually stated if that journal is from Expedition 0.
I think at least part of the point is that Alicia should be creating something new, not wallowing in an old, broken world for the sake of her brother's memory. Letting go of that world and its people is an extension of letting go of Verso.
you know what, you're right. Instead of letting go of the past she should just fuck around in the obliterated make believe world of Verso's painting while she slowly dies.
The funny thing is she doesn't even want Verso's authentic painting. The only part which was authentically his was Esquie and the Gestrals. Everything else was added and made into a war zone by her parents/sister.
If she truly cared about Verso's painting she would've deleted Lumiere and virtually everything else. But she didn't.
How do they even make so much money?
dudes never seen aristocratic families with generational money
in any case being an artist who can bring paintings to life is probably pretty valuable.
ohhh so did renoir and all of them enter the canvas in lumerie and then decide to go out and find aline to stop her?
yeah but in the real world not in the canvas. why would renoir do an expedition in the canvas, unless it was to convince them to stop the paintress like a fake agent to aid him.
Look how much ugly ass art paintings are going for today. It is not uncommon for paintings to sell for 6 or 7 figures.
Some of the ugliest shit in the world is some dude walking all over his canvas, dropping cigarette butts on it and legit not giving a fuck. Guess how much it sells for?
Hell, there was a time where an artist took a literal shit in a jar and sold it for the price of gold.
I am not kidding, I may have taken Art History.
But yes, art is a very lucrative business. And that's before even getting into the money laundering and bribes side of it.
Millions of people fought in wars in the real world and history buffs (which is what Gustave was) can remember historically significant people. It's clear that in 67 years a lot of people have gone to the continent. Not millions, but I'd reckon tens if not one hundred thousand, at least. There are just way too many corpses everywhere. You can hardly take a step without stepping on a dead expeditioner. It's one of the worst parts about the game, is how movement is messed up by any slight incline and this happens all the time with corpses, which there are lots of.
that has been shut down a dozen times already
go back to discord, fag.
Would you hire Clea to paint a canvas of your waifu?
If you don't want to trust Verso then trust Julie.
The search and rescue party was sent AFTER expedition 00.
Renoir and Verso came back to Lumiere so the rest of the people wanted to see if they could find more survivors.
Search and Rescue that makes it sound like Verso tried to make them believe the Paintress wasn't the culprit, but it's never actually stated if that journal is from Expedition 0.
Do you mean the Julie one? Because she actually references Expedition 0 in her journal and says that she thinks Verso and Renoir are lying about what happened during it.
It's the same shit about
chatgpt
vr
sims
And refusing to accept that there is fucking magic in this world and these are people made with magic, they behave the same as people outside except their gods are closer to them.
forgot pic
Verso lies with motivation, he's not a wanton chronic liar. He wouldn't have any reason to lie about search and rescue 100 years ago.
Shit, you're right. Went back to reread it after I posted. Thanks for clarifying.
live peaceful life with wife and kids
SUDDENLY WIFE FUCKING DISAPPEARS AND THE CONTINENT SHATTERS INTO PIECES BY LIGHT FUCKING SWORDS
Wake up in part of the city that was flung across the ocean
Guess I gotta go back and find out if wife is still alive
Reach the end of journey, just to find out wife is a literal goddess and that you and your family are nothing but painted simulacrums of other gods, and that if she is stopped everyone dies
Have two choices now: stop expeditions before they can reach the goddess or help expeditions in an attempt to end it all
he's not a wanton chronic liar
I mean, he lies by omission for pretty much the entirety of the story. Probably would've gone very different if he and Renoir had been completely honest from the beginning.
they behave the same as people outside
they are literally make believe. Verso says it himself. They're about as real as a character in a book
But the idea that just saying Renoir will immediately make Gustave go "yoooo the Expedition Zero captain Renoir? That dude?" is ridiculous.
Even history buffs require a surname or title to complete the identification.
Here, I'll give you an example. Which historical figure do I mean by this name : Adam.
Figured it out? No? You need more than just a first name to go on because there's a fuckton of other historical figures that go by the name Adam? My point exactly.
Maelle doesn't know she is alicia until way later in the game retard
live peaceful life with wife and kids
i mean that makes a big leap that you didnt read the story since renoir knows he wasnt a lumerian. unless he was like maelle and forgot his memories but he entered the canvas to stop aline.
Verso says it himself.
Verso lies more than Todd Howard.
When Maelle remade Sciel and Lune they were identical, including having knowledge that Maelle didn't have, based on their chroma
So their painters don't decide everything about those people.
Jensen
because he didn't ask for this
Isn't he talking about painted Renoir
noice
They are freckles and u don't what they are, retard
When the real Renoir enters the canvas, his wife had already painted a fake family, including his painted version
Renoir telling anyone at that point in the story, that your entire life is a lie, and you're all trapped inside a painting because my wife is grieving.
Imagine someone came up to you today and told you that shit. Be honest, how would you react? I'll tell you one thing though, you wouldn't fuckin' believe him.
And Renoir says, multiple times "It doesn't make sense to you now"
Their entire civilization has only around 100 years of history from a single city. There would only be one or two important Renoirs, it isn't that common of a name.
Then there's the fact that the first time we hear the name Renoir is from Verso, when he specifically names him as the leader of expedition 00.
Does this mean Aline was cheating on Renoir too? I mean in a way she was if she developed an emotional attachment to her new family. So Renoir was ntr'd, no wonder he was pissed off.
But the idea that just saying Renoir will immediately make Gustave go "yoooo the Expedition Zero captain Renoir? That dude?" is ridiculous.
if it is a Renoir that is a survivor in the continent from an expedition and is also jacked as fuck then MAYBE it's the captain Renoir
Their entire civilization has only around 100 years of history from a single city.
Their civilization has lore (because its all painted nonsense anyway) that predates the fracture, like the bit where Verso and either Lune or Sciel go and talk about the trains.
