I figured it was because there was no way another cartoon for kids would have that plot. It's both so treacherous yet mundane. I can imagine an episode of The Simpsons or American Dad having that plot, but not something like SpongeBob. A kids' show would pizazz it up and have them trapped in a more "fantastical" location like the island or the asteroid. Maybe there was an episode of Rugrats where Stu got stuck on the roof though. Because now that I'm thinking about it, that sounds like it could've happened.
