What is the correct Deus Ex ending to go with? I used to think it was AI but after my experience with AI I am starting to think Tong was right
What is the correct Deus Ex ending to go with...
Tong is having a last minute "no fuck technology uncle ted was right" freakout because he caught grey death earlier in the same day. He's too distressed to be a trusted advisor. Illuminati ending is best. It's a sham, but most people were happy living in that sham until MJ12 won their little deep state civil war.
trying to ragebait about ai with deus ex
How low can you get?
most people were happy living in that sham until MJ12 won their little deep state civil war.
the world started going to shit before that, a few years before the mj12 coup. Also the jensen games were hinting that the illuminati was responsible for the earthquakes that sank much of the west coast into the ocean.

You mean there's no californians in the deux ex universe? Did any of them escape?
Illuminati
yes we watched the world slowly dying and did sweet fuck all about it, and then we lost control to one guy and his better Illuminati, but give us control of the world we'll make it right, promise
Tong
as leader of a vast criminal organisation I'm uniquely placed to become a powerful ruler in post-collapse society but also delusional enough to think losing the internet will reduce us to village dwelling peasants again, pick me
Helios
now just because Bob Page had me created specifically to merge with him and be subsumed into his personality as he ruled like a god doesn't mean it's weird that I immediately betrayed him to get some gullible nobody with no desire to rule the world to merge with me so we could 'rule together', I am completely trustworthy, trust me
This is why HR had a suicide option. Everyone is playing you.
There's no "correct" ending but my prefer was Tong's ending only because I'm a slave to Kaczynski's ideology even though many anons had pointed out in the past that that outcome is only temporary and probably in a decade or two things will go back to normalcy. But you cares? I've ten years of anti-technology nature peace.
Second place is combining with the AI, I mean imagine instant access to all the porn ever.
anti-technology nature peace
it's just going to be a lot of people dying for incredibly stupid and otherwise easily preventable reasons
its literally in the name of the game
Then maybe zoomzoom should put down their phones and stop eating processed slops.
no secret ending where you just stand there doing nothing, letting things "sort themselves out"
Missed opportunity 2beh.
Illuminati is best for actually fixing the world. If they get out of line JC can just kill them all.
surely you appreciate the irony of using the internet to voice your fetishisation of a videogame ending where destroying the internet creates a world you want to live in and then opining that other people need to step away from the technology
you appreciate it right bro
Everett isn't the greatest leader but the illuminati ending makes the most sense
fixing the world
The one they broke in the first place? That world? The Illuminati was around long before Bob Page and Majestic 12, they're responsible for everything going wrong before he took over and made things worse. Their brand of ruling from the shadows was a complete failure.
Honestly MJ12 was right, they just butchered the whole virus thing
kind of disappointed you didnt get to fight bob page. the walter simmons fight was also a let down
Tong ending is based. Become the socialist version of feudal lords whilst others plant seeds and stuff and you chill with Tong having philosophical conversations on how to make a fairer society and then get others to enact that as policy. In a post Trump world filled with perverse ideology of the individual profiting from exploitation it's the only fix. Anything else will just get co-opted. "We will start again".
Tongs ending doesn't make too much sense but I guess its a restart. It will just be another scramble for power and it will end in the same thing
All endings are canon
not canon. the series ended with this game
invisible war has a similar "every ending is the bad ending" scenario
Is the world of deus ex just permanently fucked forever?
players who probably GEP gunned every NPC they came across thinking JC Denton would be a good leader
Tong's ending is a cruel, senseless, excessive, 'destroy everything, fuck everyone' anarchist fantasy, but supposedly the globalists would lose the most and it would take a long time before the world is once again controlled by a single group of people.
This is why HR had a suicide option. Everyone is playing you.
Helios is not, it's simply calculating the chances of humanity surviving another attempt at full control from whoever takes page's place.
That's why the plan in Invisible War is full lack of privacy, essentially for the layman they already don't have any privacy anyway so helios reasons that it needs to institute transparency on a global level as information is power.
It's not like if you don't choose Helios the illuminati is going to stop using surveillance to control the world.
The problem at the core of the Helios ending is that humans aren't entirely rational though we like to think we are, which will cause intense friction with it's regime, in long term outcomes though the AI is by far the best choice.
The correct one is whichever you want it to be baby ;)
I only GEP'd doors and big droids.
after my experience with AI I am starting to think Tong was right
Merge with Helios since it makes the most sense and is also canon
Always going with Tong, even if its kinda bs, because it was least hypocritical.
this
Helios tells you exactly why it's doing what it's doing with the pithy "we are our choices". It weighed yours against Bob Page's and found him wanting.
It's not trying to trick you into anything nor is this ever implied.
Unironically fusing yourself with an AI.
what choices? the game is basically linear aside from how many people you kill along the way

The fact that you didn't side with a megalomaniacal would be god for one, did you even pay any attention?
but you don't get to choose to join the bad guys over your brother. there's never that choice to make, it was cut.
Always hated that you cant save your brother in this
Tong's ending is beyond retarded because it relies on a gamble that people won't eventually build back to the exact same place as before you hit the nuke on the web and we don't get a rerun of Illuminati and Bob Page. The only good ending is merging with Helios but only if you RP'd with Denton being a good and merciful guy and not a homicidal caveman
we lost control to one guy and his better Illuminati, but
good point
Every ending is bad because they all turn away from God
It's not turning away from God when one becomes a god.
Always hated that you cant save your brother in this
You can save paul just go out the front door of the Ton instead of the window.
Oh hey, the same logic applies to Mass Effect 3.
fake and gay

Tong's ending is idealistic to say the least, his hope hinging on the idea that with a bit more time humanity will put in guard rails before things get back to the point of no return.
Wouldn't work but it's a nice thought.
With the one that has the best music
youtu.be
Aquinas spoke of the mythical city on the hills though, remember that.
All endings are good. The enlightened autocracy of Helios, decentralization of Tong and elitism of Illuminati are all forces of good and necessary for the world to heal.
I used to believe in the Illuminati one when I was young because I thought a bunch of benevolent rulers would be good for society like a Marcus Aurelius type of thing. Then I realized that I got conned by the Jew
The benevolent AI one I think is still the best. AI in 2052 is probably going to have self-reasoning capabilities instead of making everyone black or thinking there's 2 R's in strawberry
you can? Does Anon Babble even play the games they discuss?
Tongs ending is goated because if you put all of humanity's infrastructure in one place where one guy can destroy it, you deserve to have it destroyed. Next time build it better and don't entrust it all to one rich faggot.
