Is this the best side quest in all of Zelda?
Is this the best side quest in all of Zelda?
Yeah
do you think anju was sad when she saw kafei revert to his adult form
The best in any game with quests. Perhaps not from a writing/plot standpoint, but mechanically no one has ever made something deeper than this.
And all you get from it is a heart piece LOL typical Zelda
What did they do on their honeymoon?
We never see his adult form, we only see Anju in her wedding dress. The curse may have been irreversible (although they probably just didn't have time to make the asset).
Probably the later, they only had a year fuck making a new model for 5 seconds
Yes short kings rise up
And a mask for a different quest
Man that remaster looks fucking terrible
I mean technically you also need to do this to get the Fierce Diety’s Mask, but it’s definitely more the journey than the destination
The Couples Mask only directly nets a heart piece from the mayor. Obviously it also contributes to the Fierce Diety item, but that's all masks.
I always understood it that it's not the curse that was really the problem more than it's causing him to miss his wedding. It's assumed he'll turn back later, but in the meantime it's messing up his wedding.
25 years later I still think about breaking into the music box house and nearly killing that little girl's father.
way too easy to fuck any part of it up making you waste half an hour doing it again
want to take refuge in the ranch house with all the women that fled there
they kick you out to die alone
What happens if you fight him? I never tried it.
best sidequest of all time has an Anon Babble ending
The kid runs in to protect him, berates you, throws you out of the house resulting in the quest failing for the loop
Better than a shitty shrine with a copy pasted puzzle inside.
I managed to find a clip of it online. There was more to it than I thought there would be.
Of course.
Happy Mask Salesman says everything goes back to normal after Link kills Majora
and the wedding is from Kafei's point of view and he's seeing eye to eye with Anju
So he's most likely an adult again
Best Zelda. All the quests are heartbreaking, this, girl and her dad, Romani sisters, even the depressed chicken guy, the mailman, my lord, but it's all right, Link's here to save these flawed souls, broken lives, and to return them back to innocence. Even the main quests, related masks are heartbreaking, but at least you get to become them and say their final goodbyes to their family and folks, Darmani, Mikau. You even reconciled the Butler's connection with his missing runaway Deku scrub son.. Holy fucking shit man, why is Majora's so good.
One of the simply overlooked trivia that people missed, is that Link basically relives their memories, and literally becoming those Masks' persona, so he is feeling all their senses, pain, sadness, anger, so he basically becomes a vessel to contain all of their worst regrets, sins, and maybe even their best wishes, hope. That's why the transformation cutscenes looked so horrifying, with Link screaming in agony.
Limited time, limited budget constraint, limited hardware. Meta, considering the team also had deadlines for the game. And they've turned it around, making the best Zelda there is. Clever time-loop, memorable and "deep" side-quests that feels like a spiritual journey, spiritual walk for both Link and the parties involved, and even the fucking "villain" had his own legit reasons.
It's like you came into their lives, sweep their sins and pain away, absorb them, carry their burden, become scapegoat so others get better chance at life, while they mostly forget you're even there (but spiritually, they all owed you one), and you just scoot away on Epona trying to find meaning and purpose for your own life, trying to find that missing someone which I still didn't who it's supposed to be? Is it fucking Navi? It's definitely not Zelda because he left Hyrule. Heck even the OoT/Hyrule timeline was reset at the end right? Like the normies didn't have a single clue how much of heroic deed Link has done to the world. It really feels like that that Stephen Chow Chinese Oddysey Part 1 & 2 film lol. Boyi bolomi, and thst timeloop device that relied on the Moon.
the pov during the wedding isn't child height
Why does Anju look all fucked up
In the entire quest you get
Kafei's Mask
Keaton Mask (heart piece)
Couple's Mask (heart piece)
Postman's Hat (heart piece)*
Silver rupee chest (Anju's room)
Empty Bottle*
You have to do the quest twice to get everything*. It's a very rewarding quest though, and kino. The clock ticking down while Anju wats for him is great. I always feel like I forgot a step and that he isn't going to show up.
he's seeing eye to eye with Anju
Kafei wears high heels to the wedding if the curse doesn't wear off.
Source: Koizumi
He's just standing on a box obviously
Do you really just stand around doing the quest?
Do people play MM doing one thing at a time and not clearing multiple side quests and story beats simultaneously?
for that quest in particular? yes
i dropped mm anyway, got way too tedious especially with the race minigames
Link is in the Woods looking for Navi when Majora's Mask starts. His entire journey is showcasing absolute altruism because no one will remember all of the good he's done for others. No one knows what he went through in OoT, and no one understands what he went through in MM. It's why so many fans adore Twilight Princess, especially the manga, because of the Hero's Shade.
No.
I love Majora’s Mask but the Anju Kafei side quest was tedious trial and error bullshit full of time wasting waiting and fucking up the mini dungeon segment at the end meant redoing it all over again.
He becomes an adult again the next day, retards.
throws you out of the house resulting in the quest failing for the loop
correction, you only get thrown out of the house. you can go inside again once she leaves the house.
Well they did model Anju in her wedding dress for only that occasion. . .
especially with the race minigames
which one? the guron race or link on epona?
It does cut close at the end
I think you have 1:30 left on the timer, maybe less.
goron race and beaver race, i failed both a couple times and just lost interest in the game, watched some videos further along and i would never have the patience to do certain parts of the game
LMAO
I consider waiting with Kafei and Anju in the inn until the moon falls the true ending of MM
letting the moon fall while you can reverse it at any time
psycho
get these guys to make the movie, or even better yet, a HBO fucking series with unlimited budget, and I could die peacefully
That moment always gets me too. The way the tension builds with each tick of the clock while you're just anxiously waiting in that room — it hits different. It’s such a weird mix of stillness and urgency. And then when he actually shows up… goddamn, that payoff feels earned. It’s the closest the game gets to a romance epic and it still manages to feel completely grounded. MM really knew how to make time itself the main character.
imagine if it was swapped
Then you have that one BOTW side quest.
Except the romantic angle was made up by Treehouse, so maybe not.
