Actual Baldur's Gate 3 thread. For actual discussion. And actual autism.
Now that the new sub-classes are out, how do you feel about them? Also post FUN new builds, and not meta trash.
I'm looking for a new fix after my E-Knight run.
Baldur's Gate 3 Thread
Most ‘fun’ builds are meta builds honestly unless you set yourself on restrictions
hexblade soell wizard is fun though but one dip hexblade itself might as well be meta
Wrong board to talk about this game unless you like shadowcuckposting and tranny seethe.
that being said giantbarb is just good stupid fun.
did they mod out the colorful hair and give dearves beards yet
Is it easy to make cute chars like this now? I've been meaning to make a giant barb
Yeah lmao just mod the game or be a human.
elves are literally made just to give birth to half elves
I urge you to not play Shadow Blade + Resonance Stone because it's so busted it makes the game boring. My bladesinger hits for 150-170 damage on a crit, absolutely disgusting, honour mode btw. Do something else instead, literally one-shotting people is not the way to go.
Bladesinger by itself is super fun tho, the climax is like a free short rest worth of healing after every big fight, massive fan of this feature being added
Fucking how? What ungodly combo of items and shit makes it do this?
Is 4 fighter, 5 barb, and 3 thief still the best for a martial
Are the new classes fun?
I'm gathering up info for my Honour run. What are the hardest fights in each act?
i'm thinking of going martial but I'm afraid the game will ju8st roflstomp my ass.
Swashbuckler and Swords Bard dovetail together nicely
having to pull Bladesong Climax out of your spellbook every single time pisses me the fuck off
I wish Drunken Master was slightly better
Oath of Crowns is great flavor-wise for a Lae'zel reclass
Giantbarb seems massively overpowered so I'm not using it
Hexblade is still fuckin stupid good
Death Cleric and Glamour Bard exist
one dip into hexblade break every build
Bump
how
Upcast Shadowblade with 5th lvl spellslot (no reason to go above), Resonance Stone to give every enemy vulnerability to Psychic damage, Booming Blade to take advantage of items that interact with spells/cantrips (spellmight gloves, arcane synergy, that neck that gives +damage from your spell modifier etc), Savage Attacker feat to reroll for better damage, knife, bow and elixir for crit chance (or use bloodlust if you want to solo an entire room in one turn. You one-tap everything that doesn't have boss tier hp or has immunity.
Hasted Bladesinger has infinite attacks and movespeed, on-demand healing and aoe, and on top of that still full wizard spell progression aka all the best spells, 10/10, 11/10 if you like the flamboyant sword animations
Swashbuckler is great and versatile, but suffers from the same rogue curse as before - still no reason to go above 3-4lvl, still a multiclass bitch
Crown pally is a good and flavorful tank, but why would you wanna tank in this game (unless for role play, then it's cool)
Swarm ranger feels a bit shit, but maybe I haven't found a build yet.
Drunk monk comes online only with gear from act 3 and is only ok
I am going through my first honour mode attempt and I haven't died once. I am overpreparing perhaps, since I was afraid of everything.
In Act 1 the hardest fights are gith patrol, bulette and creche inquisitor I guess, but by that time your party should already be busted. You can always go to Act 2 to grab some gear (make sure to resolve goblin/grove conflict first).
In Act 2 the tough ones are Yurgir (I recommend just skip it and use a bard to tell him and his posse to kys), Myrkul (bring Doomhammer from goblin merchant) and Karniss (bring counterspell and fucking pray)
Act 3 should have no real hard fights since you already should be overpowered. Remember the netherbrain passive though, so you don't randomly get locked out of doing damage at all
I was going to do a third playthrough with the new subclasses to get a few missing cheevos, but it was too stale. I've already seen everything BG3 can provide me. I tried some extra encounter + item randomizer mods but it was still too samey.
Myrkul is the only real hard one and the most common party wipe. Others you can always retreat and run to camp if you don't want to lose your save (except for Raphael and the final boss), but Raphael is pretty easy.
I started a new game after the last patch dropped, and is it just me or is the game easier on tactician than when it first released?
I find it hard to believe I somehow got gud in the year and a half I spent away from the game. I had struggled my whole first playthrough, I really got my shit pushed in about 1/4 of the way into act 3 and gave up playing entirely.
BG3 difficulty comes in two forms:
Not knowing where all of the encounters are and how they'll play out
Not knowing which spells / skills are actually useless
2nd playthrough on honour mode was a speedrun for me.
Pretty much most thigns in the under dark can be difficult.
If you don’t prepare for Nere he will actually murder you.
Not knowing which spells / skills are actually useless
This is probably it now that I think about it.
Talking about the game with people who watched billions of guides and builds on the internet and played the game for 500 hours is not fun bro.
Everyone already knows everything and acts like a seasoned expert on every matter, thats not fun ground for discussion.
I guess this is the problem when games become popular and metafags on youtube solve them with endless build and tier list videos.
The only thing left to dicuss is player preference but its hard to do that with people who believe they are gaminggods
This is the only Larian RPG I haven't finished in 15 years. I really hate the dogshit D&D magic system. I'll take Divinity 2 all day every day.
What do you hate about it? its pretty good and well designed! and its better designed than Divinity systems too
Yeah, the only way for me to enjoy BG3 is to cheese it really hard so I have a fuckton of camp supplies. Spells slots are bullshit, DOS's spell cooldowns were so much fucking better. As was the action point system. The flexibility to move farther or attack more often is better than having set movement amounts or attack amounts.
BG3 not being DOS3 is one of the greatest tragedies of the vidya age.
BASED bg3 thread creator.
that's letting the russian spammer tranny win. continue creating threads to burn him out/waste his time/destroy his life. it's funny.
That's such a cute char but I already played the game once as a dark elf, I should replay sometime but idk the most sex race besides that
I think he's moved on to Clair Obscur
Aside from the points I've noted in the post below yours, the dice rolls are bullshit. If I put points into persuasion, I should just be able to use it, not rely on a dice roll to MAYBE use persuasion.
2nd russian revolution when?
I don't see how spell slots and cooldowns are much different, they are pretty similar in their goal.
I'd argue with spell slot upgrade mechanic, you can still find usefulness in low level spells in the late game rather than just sticking to the highest level spells for dmg.
Dice rolls are integral part of any RPG, i get your opinion on not liking them but be sure that you will not like almost any RPG with this mindset, as more than 90% of them are driven by dice rolls.
What should be important is that dice rolls are not the sole factor if you win or not and in BG3 case thats true, you can beat honor mode without any relevancy to RNG, RNG is a factor but its not a decider in the outcome of you winning or losing.
RNG also adds a chaotic element to the encounter and prevents them from playing out in the same exact way, which is fun for repeated playthroughs.
Does the game still run like absolute shit?
whats his schizo scapegoat in that game?
you can still find usefulness in low level spells in the late game rather than just sticking to the highest level spells for dmg.
Command is a spell and cleric gets at level 1 and it remains useful even at level 12.
upgrade from a toaster, boris
Mever has for me. Do you have bad PC?
Baldur's Gate 3
Erm... yikes. That is like, SO last year. We talk about Expedition 33 now, sweatie
Trying another playthrough for blade wizard. Last one was a reticent durge paladin and that was fun and dramatic.
Is sleep good or shit? i was convinced it was bad because i remember sleep from BG1 but one guy keeps saying its actually OP in bg3 too
Sleep is incredible for the first couple of levels since you can set up easy crits during times when your hit chance is shit. It falls off very fast since even when you upcast it the enemy health pools are too high to reliably sleep more than 1 person and AI always tries to shove their allies awake.
It comes back in the late game with Eyebite: Sleep which can make anything snooze with no checks, even units that are supposed to be immune like undead
Netease invested in Kepler before Sandfall even existed and the director's dad might be rich
I t was other way around for me, i tried to play DOS2 after BG3 and could not get into it, dialogue is very weird and everything feels like a cringe joke and is not pulling me in. Oh also abysmal combat armor system.
why did they make this one tiefling both albino and asian
tieflings have weird skin tones
i want to impregnate alfira while nerissa watches
Post current playthrough tavs. There’s at least 4 of you.
What's the bestway to maximize fashion on console? FearTaylor's and Transmog Lite can only do so much.
Hey bro!
This is my tier list.
Honor Mode - 3 attempts until i got the win - no cheese - no mods - All fights were conquered
Party used
-Swords Bard 8 / Fighter 1/Wizard 1
-Barbarian - Berserk 12
-Wizard Abjuration12
-Monk 8 / Rogue 4
-Fighter Battlemaster 12
-Druid 12 Spores
-Life Cleric 12
-Sorcerer 8/ Warlock 4
This is my tier list for ranking all the fights when it comes to their difficulty
Act 1 gith is a fucking trap to do on anything but at the very fucking end, maybe before Gyrm.
I made Astarion a swashbuckler and that's been really good. His bonus action letting him throw out a debuff is nice too. If anyone knows how to make swashbuckler even more fun and broken, let me know. I gave him one level of warlock, but I'm down to completely multiclass the shit out of him if it gets me a broken/fun build with swashbuckler abilities.
I'm running a Durge Drow Bloodrager/Monk. I modled him after "The Noah" from D. Gray Man and he feels like a guy who's playing along with Bhaal before rejecting him so he can do evil unto himself and Tiamat.
He killed me in the first run so yeah true, i went to him before the Grymforge, i was done with Underdark and went to the Creche.
His legendary action is busted and if you mess up just 2 rounds you are done and dead
2nd attempt was the last before Grym, so i reached grym and left him for last, sleep potions came in clutch to make his allies canceled then i focused on him, still challenging but much more manageable that way.
Great boss all things considered, i found Gortash encounter without disabling steel watch to be one of the greatest encounters in the game, a true 10/10 encounter.
Why can't dammond make shit out of the iron from the steel watchers? I don't understand.
I agree. I wasn't even considering messing around with the Gith until it was the last activity I did during Act 1 when I'm fucking level 6. They have a lot of bullshit capabilities and it's dangerous as shit if you don't have a strong team to counter their bullshit. Makes me glad I'm using both Shadowheart and Wyll to help cheese a lot of fights.
Unfortunately that subplot was cut along with the Upper City. Though at least theres some optimism to be seen in the epilogue. Karlach has a plan to get her heart back from Zariel.
I tried spore druid Shart and I couldn't figure out why people said it was good
Its a good control caster
multiclassing it for monk was still the strangest thing i did
Which is such a BS as going to the Créche sounds probably your best bet after the ship crash. Not to mention Lae'zel aggressively pestering right from the beginning of Act1.
Old character but it was the last build I did. I don't have a picture of my recent one.
What is the best build if I want to be a crusader?
Judging by these posts alone, I feel validated in what the other anons in previous threads have said about BG3, "its a fucking dating sim not an actual game"
Never ask a gacha player to show you gameplay
same with BG3 I guess, you fags will do everything BUT talk about the gameplay and mechanics.
He's fine in anything short of tactician unless you go there early.
In honor, the gith Zerai is a actual run ender if you aren't prepared.
He will just murder you.
Because faggots like you have turned these threads into designated "funposting" zones. I wish yoy Flips would stick to your own sites.
fighter 12.
Chink vampire that high
just turn on your flashlight
it's a turn-based RPG that you can dig as much as you want to into it and turn any encounter into a joke or a nightmare. What's to show?
Go play it and try it yourself.
Oath of Devotion Paladin is a classic Lawful Good Paladin
Oath of the Crown if you want to be more Lawful Lawful
the simple reality is that most people just don't bother making webms
Fight him ascended
This is also a good point. what do you want me to do? Show you how big a number I rolled?
Sounds good to me. I'll dig around for mods before my next run
Vamperens heads is good.
700
What the fuck?
What is the 4th image for High Threat? Gith ambush in Act 2?
now that the new sub-classes are out, how do you feel about them
my party comp right now is
Durge: Hexblade Orc, gonna go 2 Paladin/10 Warlock, only level 5 right now though so I'm waiting to 6 to respec into Paladin so I can wear heavy armor
Astarion: Shadow Sorc. Sorc is my favorite offensive caster and the gimmick of the darkness cloud he can see through is a fun one, shame it takes my concentration slot though
Lae'zel: Battlemaster Fighter, gonna wait till 6 to dip into swashbuckler, probably just gonna do Rogue 3 for the subclass then put the rest into fighter. Started as a dual wielder but I think I'm going to pivot to duelist and use the legendary rapier
Shart: Death Domain, seems ok but the perk of getting 2 targets per necromancy cantrip doesn't seem too great. maybe there's some kind cantrip build or necromancy build I can do, but so far it feels like my weakest class in my party
overall seems like a bunch of really cool additions though it seems like alot of them are super busted
It depends on when you decide to tackle things, your build, difficulty and party comp.
Very, very generally pre-level five you are going to have difficulty with any of the big battles, Auntie Ethel, Gith Patrol, Dror Ragzlin, Flind, Phase Spider Matriarch.
After level five you should be able to tackle most things easily, and all of those things are technically optional.
Act 1.5, that is Mountain Pass and the Underdark, you are probably only going to have difficulty with the Gith and the Adamantine Golem if you don't use the hammer.
Act 2 I can only really think of Myrkul, possibly the self-same trial if you do it honestly and maybe Yugir.
Act 3 I would say the Steel Watcher Titan, Gortash if you attack him at the coronation, Raphael, and the fight before the final boss.
This is assuming you are doing everything without any cheese, no set-up, no barrel explosives. You can get through the game with pretty much any build if you really put your mind to it.
Also if you plan to use invisibility don't do the surgery.
Yeah
I genuinely don't know how people can do the coronation boss fight. I even tried cheating shit onto myself and i still couldn't do it.
What dating sim nigga the romance/sex scenes last like 2 seconds and you only get like 10 extra lines of dialogue
dudes the same type of people I saw on the news like 15 years ago saying Mass Effect was a sex simulator.
I keep having to restart because mods keep ruining my shit, hopefully this is the last time I need to
lip stick on a pig
Luck, high level, and a good build for your entire party. Illithid powers also help. It's probably one of the few fights in the later part of the game where you really need to have the right comp and build, pre-buffs, elixers, and gear to have a decent chance. Steel Watchers need to be taken out quickly, a fun way to deal with them is wait until they are about to self-destruct, then use Telekinesis to launch them over to a group of other enemies.
I think she's cute
Hapa drows owe me sex.
Let me ask you then, as someone who's interested in getting it but can't be bothered because I'm lazy (it's currently on sale so I might just get it today)
Can I play the game without minmaxing or needing to use a wiki?
(me)
hit post too soon
Sure, I know I can play any game without a wiki
But I don't like screwing myself and missing tons of content because I made the wrong choices
Saving some people earlier in the game makes them have quests later in the game, or they relate to those quests later in the game which results in different outcomes. You don't need a min/max build to beat the video game, and you can respec and change the difficulty at any time if you feel like things are too easy/too hard.
fucking hate death shepards
My question seems stupid now that I think about it, since I could just have multiple playthroughs to see all the quests/routes/whatever
drow women owe human males sex
I understand, anonchama. I do the exact same thing.
Wikidiving is kind of therpeutic in its own way.
however there is joy to be had in taking problems head on without knowing what'll happen.
Most roll fails in the game just lock you out of information you otherwise can intuit.
Depends on the difficulty you plan to play on, but you can play through the game on Honour mode with 13 in every stat and taking a one level dip in every class and win, with a bit of trying. Also, some of the content you can get is dependent on missing other content.
Where's the tencent schizo
Shhh!
yeah, easily unless you choose the hardest difficulty out the gate, which would be silly.
They finally got him...
Good builds on everyone, shit loads of summons, ideally bring in some of the special grenades you can get from the ironhands (flashblinders I think) to stun the Steel Watchers. Having fly or enhanced leap on everyone helps as well because it unlocks a lot of verticality in the throne room.
hopefully threw his ass into the war
CHINA!
DID SOMEONE SAY WOKE MIND VIRUS!?
CHINA OWNS IT, THAT MEANS IT'S BAD
FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN UHH IT'S CHINA????
TDS IN THE THREAD, LOLOL IT'S CHINESE, THEY OWN IT, CAN'T YOU SEE THAT?
THE JEWS SHOULD OWN IT INSTEAD, THAT WOULD BE BETTER
CHINA IS COMMUNIST ENEMY, THEY UHH UHHH KILL PEOPLE!
That sounds good to me. Not autistic enough for minmaxing, plus knowing there's alternative content I would get when I miss something is way better than just not getting anything at all
Find a mod that adds new equipment, and also randomizes the locations. Makes it alot more fun.
I want to do a new run but I need to come up with some kind of challenge, I always end up hyperoptimising whenever I try play BG3 these days and it kills me enjoyment because I spend hours just picking up everything and selling it all. Maybe a no merchants or no selling run would work. What kinds of challenge runs have you anons done?
The game is mostly grabbing and doing quests, doing some tactical fights in between them. Did you skip divinity? Then skipped bg3 too? Why are you trying to discuss rpgs?
Wake me up when they release actual mod tools so I can create a multiplayer roleplay server. I'm tired of shit mmos and Neverwinter Nights servers filled with 50 year olds.
Rise of the Ronin is a better dating sim/dress up game.
Was excited for Drunken Monk and found it vastly underwhelming. Tried out Giant Barbarian instead and had a blast throwing and kicking everything.
I have this game, but I haven't played it yet. I almost did a while back, but then kept hearing news about upcoming updates for new endings and all this stuff, so I just kept waiting lmao.
I like nightblade/stealthy wizards, bards and regular wizards, but I know nothing of DnD equivalents for these. Anything like these good?
Short answer is yes.
You can be an Illusion school wizard, or a Bladesinger Wizard for either stealthy or front-liney. You can also multi-class into Rouge for sneak attack. Bard can also be stealthy, though they don't have any specific subclass for it so you would need to multi-class to make it more authentic. Evocation Wizard is as regular Wizard as you get, blast things or blow them up. There is also a spell called, "Shadow Blade," which works well for 100% of the game, since it can be upcast and gives you a blade made of shadow.
"Shadow Blade,"
Make sure you pick up resonance stone as well in act 2.
Actual Baldur's Gate 3 thread. For actual discussion. And actual autism.
It's called /bgg/ and no general topics not shilled by the literal chinese are allowed to do this on Anon Babble
Speak of the Devil...
There is no tencent schizo. Just you, the schizo janny banning random users, hoping you'll have a friend for once. You never will
Keep talking to yourself.
BG3 will never be a decade defining generational game. Tencent is wasting money. Have fun with that fact.
Current tav is Barb/Fighter embrace durge. Just got to Wyrm's Crossing. No mods.
I will admit there IS a Chinese janny
There's a full janny dox, why not put his actual name in your image?
Speak of the Devil...
Best game to make a Death Knight and enjoy an army of undead munching on all the 'people' you slaughter (I do not consider faggots human).
Install NoAlphabets and Realms Restored for maximum comfiness
Mummy women owe me sex.
what's the lich fella from
Minthara best waifu btw, any other answers are normie trash and wrong
Unless you're meaning Gale. The big skeleton glowing ghastly green is a Death Shephard and is the perfect candidate for Oathbreaker's Control Undead
