Once you beat the final boss in games like games like Sacred Stones or Path of Radiance, you get an long scene where the game´s characters talk amongst themselves and disscuss what to do now that the war is over, then once nearly every one has said their piece, the credits roll. That´s what I mean by an epilogue.
Now look at 3H, you beat the final boss, then you get a brief slide show telling you that you won the war , and if you didn´t even bother marry anyone, the credits roll... just like that? Nothing more to say? Why don´t your units have anything to say no that the ended the war? That´s what I mean by a lack of epilogue.

Houses' unique spell lists was a neat idea, but basically everyone had a damage spell, healing spell, and some big gimmick spell so they all felt interchangeable.
They need to either bring back the magic weapon triangle, add magic back to the main weapon triangle like Fates, or start having tomes affect tiles similar to the Corrin dragon veins.

MK can make basically anyone into a magic nuke. Wolf is optimal for a cav Bonded shield. GK is the best multi-weapon bulk class. Paladin has well rounded growths and a solid DEF cap. Bow Knight is fast with relatively high MAG base/cap for radiant bow memes.

My feeling is limiting yourself to being a romhack dev is shooting yourself in the foot. If you've got the energy to spend years and years making this fully fleshed out game, why not just branch out and try to make it your own thing that can stand on its two feet rather than living in the shadow of someone else's creation which might ultimately get shutdown anyhow due to intellectual property disputes.
I get not everything needs to be a product you can sell, but to me it seems more like these guys are selling themselves short by putting themselves in a box. I dont know, you could be the Fire Emblem *replacement* if you tried hard enough. You could do it better, you could do something new, and that's far more interesting than a romhack in my opinion.
