I think despite a good amount of Darumi talk going on in these threads, people are missing the nitty-gritty of what a non-Retsnom Darumi route would entail. How would events lead up to that outcome in a timeline? Where would the route branch off from? Would you retain the core themes of Retsnom route, or would you spin it completely differently but in a way that still works out? Clearly most of us want to retain the teen pregnancy angle, but what else needs to be retained if at all? Is the "requirement" of Takumi witnessing Darumi's real self after rescuing her from certain doom and permadeath truly needed, or can Darumi's real self come out in some other scenario for Takumi to find out and pursue?

story aside my biggest criticism of the game is that most of the battled ended up being skippable/non unique after a couple routes also the only offensive mission was in the first scenario and never reappeared in any route

I’d have the characters not act super weird and OOC, and also give it a bit more dramatic build up. And I’d change the murder methods to not be so goofy and over the top. And I’d pick people other than Shouma and Eva. They’re the worst ones to randomly make into killers. But really I think the concept is flawed from the get-go. They’re not like DR characters, and I don’t see anyone really wanting to kill even if they’re threatened by some masked figure. Shouma in particular would 100% run and tell everyone immediately after X spoke with him. After spending such a long time with these characters I felt like I stumbled into bad fanfiction.

The thing is I’m already aware of and have solved all these issues for myself and was just curious for other people’s inputs. If you want to know…. (SF spoilers)

the scenario I came up with I wanted the best outcome while still happening realistically within the story. The most realistic of Takumi and Darumi getting together is to me a Retsnom where they never find anything about it. And thus it ends up like a romance route where they just hang out every day and end up romantically together and most likely banging. Thus enters an SF route, and when Takumi remembers the other routes he remembers the one where he knocked up Darumi and wanted to have a family with her! But now, he has to juggle the time hijinks along with attempting to rekindle a relationship with a Darumi that did not have that initial starting factor of saving her life and getting her attached to him. Plus she’d probably be wary of him considering her abuse and he wouldn’t be a loner in SF either! An uphill battle of attempting to get her to fall in love with him like before except this time he’s the pursuer

Gaku is at his absolute worst in this arc too. Constistantly fucks things up for the other characters.

But then Takumi would need to get over that desire to bring Second-to-Last back to life which is what led them to Retsnom in the first place. How would that happen? Who would interact with him in such a way as to cause that shift in his mindset?

Got one in my backlog called silver case but idk if I can stomach an older game right now. Also beat reverse collapse recently and I loved it. Uh…before SF? I would’ve assumed Darumi due to the fact that after he saved her life she became obsessed with Takumi and making him happy. So I would see on a Retsnom where they never find anything about Retsnom would have Takumi taking an interest in all her hobbies and likes similar to how he did for the romance route.

I did have an idea of Takumi with his prior knowledge being able to pretend to be a fan in SF now that he’s played through/read all her favorites with her but a separate anon thought it’d be cuter to have em get together the same way regardless with her still introducing the games to him. Gnosia is good but leans heavily on it's single player werewolf gameplay.
Silver case is older schizoge, worth playing when you're in the mood.
