OLED better

The perfect blacks are so good it'll give you jungle fever.

OLED looks better, everything else lasts longer.

Its another "my opinion is actually a fact" thread

everything else lasts longer.

meme. IPS degrades over time even more than OLED does

OLED achieved what society couldn't: perfectly good blacks

i thought REngine had washed out blacks? at least it did when i played RE2make where no matter the slider settings it was just grayish

I don't like blacks.

meme. IPS degrades over time even more than OLED does

IPS degrades evenly: the entire panel becomes less bright over time, that's all.
In any case, OLED takes a long-ass time to burn-in as long as you're not retarded: turn it on, consume the content, turn it off. Don't leave the panel on 24/7.

Only if you turn on HDR, and only on PC I think?

130th oled thread since 3 weeks ago

shills actively promoting their DOA hardware that melts itself after 3 to 6 months

Debra-Wilson.jpg - 720x1006, 350.52K

yeah guys don't fall asleep in front of your tv or you're a retard LMAO

OLED in VR matter massively, the PSVR2 headset is the king just because of this

oledtards are so desperate it's hilarious.

I had one but had to sell it, 55B2. Now on LED 43a60gv and after a few minutes it makes no difference and I don't play dark games but GT7 mostly

Set a timer, or use a different TV for that usecase.

i'll just use a differnt tv that's not an oled (scam)

Set a timer, or use a different TV for that usecase.

le burn-in!

don't be poor. just buy a new one.

okay, just keep buying overpriced tvs like the payfag you are lol

My 2015 ROG PG279Q has temporary ghosting in games with static UI like Binding of Isaac. My 2018 LG C7 OLED does not. True story.

back in my day we had something called a "screen saver", it would prevent damage to your monitor by displaying a constantly changing screen after a set time without input

yeah and then ips displays became a thing and didn't have that problem.

For me it's miniLED, soon to be microLED.

Don't leave the panel on 24/7.

Or buy a panel that doesn't require you to constantly babysit it
I've got better shit to do than set off for work thinking "fuck did I leave the OLED on?"

RE4 remake

Imagine buying a godtier display so you can play horrendous dogshit on it.

enjoy burn in

Nothing blew me away quite like going through that tunnel on my LG C1, Ray Tracing and HDR on.

bedroom.jpg - 2000x1500, 158.16K

duhhhhh okay poorfag duhhhhh

fuck off contrarian

file.png - 877x256, 115.93K

waaaahhhhhh stop making fun of the watered down remake waahhhh it sold a lot of copies therefor it's good wahhhhhh

Don't fucking buy an OLED then? What do you want from me lmao. All I'm saying is that if you're careful, burn-in is not an issue. If for some reason you can't do this because "you've got better shit to do", use another TV, do you think I care?

Chainsaws are not dangerous if you're careful, and you can cut trees much faster compared to a normal saw.

Yeah?! But what if I want to stick my dick in it?!

only just getting a OLED in 2025

makes a thread saying how great it is

bro is 15 years behind the curve, viewing this on my mini LED.

keep crying oledtard LOL

This
I bought an LG C1 a few years ago
best decision I ever did, almost zero input lag on a 4k TV with amazing picture quality
fuck LCD/LED

bro is 15 years behind the curve, viewing this on my mini LED.

How the fuck do you leave your house without checking if the TV is on/the lights are on/the windows are closed?
Are you that big of a baby that had everything for free that you never had to care for the things you own?

I like your setup, anon.

Enjoy burn in after just 1 year if you only play vidya games and movies.
If you also doing office work and browsing you can see just after 3 months.

fuck LCD/LED

get miniled IPS

fucking blooming around the mouse cursor on anything black

blooming on any object moving thats by itself on desktop

Holy fuck its so bad

My cx has some burn in but you can only see it in full screen grey shit. It sucks but with hdr content I cant tell.

Thinking of grabbing this to use as my pc monitor

oledtard

I wish, I'm too poor for an OLED.

what? then why are you defending oleds like your life depends on it?

have fun with that.

Honestly, do not
I own a C1, use it as the main display, but it is a living room gaming PC, all it does is booting into Steam big picture and playing games, sometimes I watch movies or youtube on it.
OLED as a desktop monitor is not really good, it is way too big to keep it on a desk, and the window's borders will eventually burn it down on the display
But if you really must

Make the taskbar disapear
Pick a wallpaper with soft low colors and low contrast, or just full black (yea full black with a few neon like lines on it looks amazing but it wears the display more on the high contrast areas, also it will sear your retinas if you use it in the dark)
get rid of any desktop icons
This way you will minimize all harm the desktop environment might do to the display

because as good as mini led is it won't save shitty ips panel tech which has awful contrast. mini led and va complement each other and were made for each other.

Solid choice. I've been using my 42c3 as my desktop monitor for more than a year now and it's top comfy. Can't really go back using a smaller LCD screen after this.

DSC_0278.jpg - 4096x2730, 2.12M

get oled

watch the news and fall asleep with it still running

wake up to play some games and see picrel

Holy fuck its so bad

Any suggestions for miniled VA?

No, the brightness setting are just really obtuse. You have to turn the 1st setting all the way down and slowly work your way up, the 2nd setting vice versa, and the 3rd setting to your preference.
1st and 2nd basically set the minimum black and maximum white.

very cool anon! just make sure to do what said!

Make the taskbar disapear

Pick a wallpaper with soft low colors and low contrast, or just full black

get rid of any desktop icons

have fun! :D

4k 70" TV costs $400

2k 27" monitor costs $200

OLED monitor costs $700

237o3298552.jpg - 250x238, 15.72K

get an OLED they said

returned it already, the only reason OLED is good is if your IPS you currently have, cost $90 and your OLED costs $900, no shit its better but my IPS was actually $1000 and my new OLED was $1000 and theres literally barely a difference, i prefer brightness over a dimmer picture

The contrast ratio is better in OLED you retard, not the brightness

Bro, are you all right? Where the fuck did I "defend OLEDs like my life depends on it". All I said is that, realistically, burn-in is not an issue. Just be aware of the shortcomings of the technology and act accordingly.

And then some retard replied: "Oh yes? And what if I want to fall asleep with my TV on?! Heh, checkmate."
To which I replied: "Set a timer or something."
"Tsk, I have better things to do with my life than setting timers. I'm a busy man, you know? I do business and stuff."
"...okay, don't buy one then, what do you want me to say."

as long as your model is above C2, you don't need to babysit the display that much. basically I do none of those.

What's the argument for an OLED monitor over an OLED tv anyway? Assuming you aren't scared of hooking your computer up to the TV.

There is no benefit whatsoever to using an OLED for desktop, the technology is expressly made for media content, movies and games. So why do you need one on your desktop?

1578258699640.jpg - 603x324, 105.28K

Bro, are you all right?

i'm fine? you're the one who seems unhinged. if you don't have anything to say then don't say anything at all. if you don't want people to criticize your comments then don't make any. chill out LMAO

what the fuck kind of question is this

Not everyone wants a xboxhueg screen right in front of them. That is assuming you are using one as a main screen for your PC of course.

perfect blacks

Dead ones?

That's why I also have an IPS screen. It's also more comfy to work on than on the oled so win/win.

Because I like to sit close to my screen and that isn't feasible on anything bigger than 32".

Is motion clarity a meme or does it actually matter? I've heard CRT has much better motion clarity than LCD or even OLED, but having used one the difference is minimal in 2D games and unnoticeable in 3D games. I can only see the difference in the blurbusters tests.

AOC Q27G3XMN

i have one. for the price it's an incredible deal since it's less than $/£300 and offers 1440p 180hz. it's not perfect though. HDR imo is kind of useless because you can't tweak any settings when in HDR mode so you're left using the default presets of which only one of them usable but really washed out and doesn't have that HDR colour punch you'd expect from HDR. the other presets have better colours but also have sharpening cranked to the max which looks awful. for SDR though it looks and performs really well, although it is prone to some occasional smearing, but in my case i got used to it quickly and don't really notice it anymore. there's also a bug where sometimes there's colour fringing around text (like you can see the red, blue and green make-up of black text) but restarting the monitor fixes that.

i'd recommend it for the price though, generally speaking.

OLED is not made for desktop usage, OLEDS are generally pretty bad at rendering text due to the subpixel layout. They make for bad monitors. They're excellent at gaming and movies.

What's the idea here, that you're going to spend 800 bucks on a monitor that is turned off 80% of the time and only on when you game? Again if that is the intended purpose you have for your monitor, you may as well get a tv

implying the TV would be on your fucking desk

You would obviously have the tv where your tv is now, and hook your computer up to it with an hdmi cable.

argument

You comp fps. Playing fps competetively on a TV is shit because you don't really see the edge of the screen without moving your head a little. You need to be close enough to see a Pixel move and you need to see the whole monitor at once. But it's the only genre where you profit from the smaller size and higher refresh rates (over 120hz)

HDR sucks

The fuck is the point then

because it's a still a 1440p 180hz monitor for piss cheap. competing HDR monitors are 3x the price, so even if you ignore HDR it's still incredible value. with that being said, you might like the HDR, i don't know. for me personally i like really punchy saturated HDR which isn't "accurate" but some people are fine with the "accurate" HDR which is less saturated.

OLED is not made for desktop usage

then why the fuck am I using this display as a desktop monitor for more than 3 years

Re4 remake

Grim...

Also OLED is shit until they fix the burn in.

the fix for oled burn in is called miniled

Because you're a coping dumbfuck. No matter how hard you try. You will always know. Deep down you'll always remember the moment you first realized how shit it still was. Then you started coping about movies. Thing is though, you spend way more time staring at text than larping as a big time movie critic.

why are you upset bro

the fuck...? when did I say any of that

soulless

Is the remake 4 any good? Does it play like remake 2?

the re4 remake is a little more watered down than the original. it really didn't need to be remade. re2 remake was alright because of how dated the original was (it was still good) but the remake added a lot more to it.

OLED is not made for desktop usage

I'm on my PC to play games, not make spreadsheets.

I throughly enjoyed it my only gripe with the game is that they've got rid of a lot of quirky and campy parts of the original but other than that it's a great remake.

you're on your PC posting on Anon Babble right now, you're reading text right now on your monitor
