owns a monoply
does nothing
competitors literally can't compete even if they dump millions into any sort of game service
Yeah that's how monoply works. Steam isn't even for video games anymore.
monopoly
competitors
we have always been at war with eastasia
posts fat jewish man who does nothing for his fans and his fans gobble it up
Whats this called?
They're doing something. It's just not the thing that's obviously catering to a loud minority on the internet.
owns a monoply
Steam is not a monopoly. There's plenty of other digital distribution companies: GoG, Epic Games, etcetera.
The competitors are not even trying. Blizzard was the one closest to offering a Steam-like service (proper storefront, friends + chat + voice services), but then they had the problem of only selling Blizzard (and a CoD game at one point) games and that was it.
Free market as its peak
monopoly
has competitors
fuck me I've only been on here for less than 5 minutes and this is most the retarded post I've read all week.
Clearly they're not dumping those millions into a properly coded interface that's not just bloatware
errmm actually no monopoly ever existed
forcing whites to pay reparations tax
adding a capital gains tax on all owned assets including your home

DURRRH KAMILA WOULD OF BEEN BETTER DEN TRUMP. LE FELL FOR AGAIN AWARD

"The complete control of trade in particular goods or the supply of a particular service; a type of goods or a service that is controlled in this way"
let me double down on being retarded
Here's your (You) that you really want for some reason.
i uninstalled the battlenet launcher/blizzard app and removed myself from their ecosystem because it has literal ads and popups that aren't able to be disabled. if that's the closest to steam's userfriendliness, it's no wonder steam has a """monopoly""". it's crazy how much they dominate the competition by just being chill and not being annoying faggots.
Couldn't name one monopoly
Always wanted to see that sentry gun on display at their offices cause it was in my town. Our school planned a field trip there but it got cancelled :(((
The only time you could argue Steam had a monopoly was when PC games were being offered retail that forced you to have a Steam account to play them, and that was a short lived time period during the 360 era.
Nobody seems to know how to compete with steam beyond throwing money at the wall.
Did anons even know Amazon was apparently trying to dethrone steam?
This is one of those times where the midwit bell curve is accurate
It's not that they don't know how to compete with Steam.
The issue is they fucking hate their consumers so fucking bad they can't do anything to actually compete.
This being why Steam even started in the first place.
true far left would be openly sodomizing toddlers on the street and then executing them chud!
And you couldn't either even though you are autistically screeching about them, ranjeet.
So no monopoly ever existed
just wait til Gabe retires/dies and new management takes steam public. Your anus will be penetrated, even if it takes time
They are trying, but they fell for the meme that Valve does nothing, so they think offering the absolute bare minimum is enough to beat "nothing"
SAAAR WE WILL BUY THE STEAM IT WILL GO THE PUBLICS
That's not how it works, and if you spent even a minute thinking about how not to be a faggot, your ventures in competing with them wouldn't fail so catastrophically
Jokes on you retard I'll be dead by then.
Equity in Valve is shared across dozens of people tho got shares as part of bonuses.
All of them would have to agree or sell their shares to the one faggot out to ruin Valve.
Valve has nothing near a monopoly. Their platform is almost entirely dependent on the actual convicted monopolist who keeps trying to remove the ability for Steam, GoG, or any of the other stores to even exist.
Only 2.5% of Valve's business is safely outside of the control of the monopoly holding back PC gaming for the benefit of consoles and phones.
Saarstl the mother bloody monopolies doesn't exists saarrs use epic saaarssss
competitors literally can't compete even if they dump millions into any sort of game service
Except nobody is doing that. They are not even trying. The Epic Launcher is still shit even after 7 years of free games.
Please release a Steam Deck 2 before Gabe is gone and Valve and PC gaming go to shit like the consoles
don't interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake
I heard him and Gabe teamed up. Keep it or leave it?
It's called donating to the Democratic Party and Democrats
They're dumping millions into it, but they're dumping millions into
Swallowing up a bunch of studios and damn their IPs to purgatory
Violently anti-consumer shit like Google Stadia and Luma "You own nothing" fat fucking latency streaming shit where they hoped nobody would ask for their money back when they shut down and set any unfortunate legal precidents.
They have zero interest in actually making a good product that isn't designed out of hate for the people they're selling it to.
no physical copies for PC
Uh oh
It is the classic MBA move of trying to attack a competitor where they are the strongest because that is where most of the money is, but ignoring the early adopters who might be a very small segment of the market but will try out new things and ultimately bring the rest of the market along if it is better.
Which is why Valve has more paying customers running GNU/Linux who have spent $300+ on their platform than the Epic store has paying customers total.
Thing is other stores could easily copy Valve and follow them into the GNU/Linux market, but they won't for whatever reason.
Most Indians use steam tho
One of the major things that keeps people sticking with Steam is that they haven't done anything wrong in well over a decade. Almost all of their controversies (beyond muh loli censorship faggots crying) only happened in the late 00s to early 10s, largely around the greenlight program and refund policy - which led to pro-consumer changes that have stuck around since. Any competitors need to prove to consumers that Steam has any glaring issues in the first place, which given the track record of Valve, is pretty easily debunked. Why switch from What Just Works?
