RPG has a quest to find someone

RPG has a quest to find someone

ask questgiver about where to start

"well if I knew, I wouldn't ask you!"

This always annoys me when this pops up. Too many games have done it. It's tried and predictable now.

I actually really liked that game. The world also big enough to not find whoever you're looking for eventually. There's just monsters and shit on the road and you're the only one equipped to travel

get magic markers from the witch

dump like two thirds of them to juice the magic tree

"yeah sorry the cityfolk were suspicious, only managed to install a couple of those"

"also drugs are bad, m'kay"

love being a lying scoundrel in these CYOA games, with no XP to grind stealth and subtlety are actually a great solution

I probably shouldn't have played this on the hardest difficulty lol
Got all these achievements and I still got fucked
Absolutely kino game, can't wait for the sequel that is apparently similar but party based

file.png - 1920x1080, 89.22K

One of the most soulful games I ever played
Though it would have been even more soulful if it wasn't woke

For me it's the fishing village where you actively have to think of places and people to look for

tons of games tell you the same thing

instead of learning you just keep in asking

A sign of autism, OP.

it is weird how it all just *feels a bit off*
the whole setting is successfully grimy and gritty, so the fact that there are like 4 male characters is way more distracting than any battleskirt

source? Looks fun

Yeah, usually when people complain about woke shit, I think it's a really minor thing and people are making a big deal out of nothing, but this game was so fucking good in so many different ways, that its main flaw really was just the small woke details that take me out of it.

Ultimately, though, I'll take it. I welcome our new woke overlords if they're gonna keep producing absolute kino like this. I like this game as much as I liked King of Dragon Pass overall.

Roadwarden
A steam blurb or a review blurb somewhere said that this is what a The Witcher game would look like if it were more worried about being faithful to the spirit of the series rather than its lore elements + combatfaggotry, and I think that's a perfect description of why this game is so kino.

Roadwarden.png - 460x215, 180.06K

There's no point in writing a complex investigation when you expect players to wander everywhere and eventually stumble into their objectives. And if that fails, they have wikis and walkthroughs.

I finished the game without ever finding the previous Roadwarden because I simply didn't have the time and was focusing on other shit. Play on hard difficulty and deal with the consequences to your choices or you're a baby.

Why does a text game get a 10/10 rating?

Why not?
Also, this isn't a Choice of Games game. The visuals and music go a long way.

When the negative review is completely accurate and also explains why the game is kino

file.png - 458x339, 11.69K

Get on my level.

I really enjoyed the music in this. The devs didn't make anything else except that ugly VN right?

Why does a {GAME IN A NICHE GENRE THAT YOU WOULD ONLY BUY IF YOU WERE INVESTED IN THE GENRE TO BEGIN WITH} get a {DISPROPORTIONATELY HIGH TO THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE LIKELY TO DISMISS THE GAME FROM THE BEGINNING} rating?

Statistics truly are a mystery.

i missed the best part of the game. this is a good thing.

Merely asking. Usually the 10 out of 10 games don't get the rating for nothing. I'll give it a go.
Is it niche?

They also made some RPG maker that was about rape being bad but the dev is actively embarrassed of the game so it's delisted on steam lol
Going from that RPG maker tripe and a weird visual novel to Kinowarden is an unfathomable jump.

file.png - 632x439, 71.38K

Rpgm with custom elements is great. It's just devs that suck big league.

I am constantly asking for games that actually have choices and consequences, and I got exactly that, so I am satisfied. What I achieved in this game felt like an achievement, and what I didn't achievement felt like interesting roleplaying failures for my character. I was unable to convince the elder to not make zombies so like half of the villages were ruined. I never found the old Roadwarden. I didn't convince enough villages to side with the merchant guild. Etc.
I need more games like these.

Is it niche?

Oh boy, a great opportunity for shilling!
IMHO Sorcery is the absolute pinnacle of the genre, but I am a wizard fanboy and an adventure enjoyer. Alexis Kennedy's games require a degree of tolerance for the most inane downtime, VNs barely branch out, Choice of Games is trash not to be spoken of, so pick your poison.

I didn't convince enough villages to side with the merchant guild

That's for the best because if you convince the hippies to side with the merchant guild, they get fucked over hard.

Choice of Games is trash not to be spoken of

The two ones by Kevin Gold are pretty good, especially Choice of Magics.

I have largely fumbled and am satisfied by that.

Honestly? Based. The daily grind structure and multiple ending slides certainly make it so reaching the end feels like a proper ending, rather than just a game over.

These are vns? I'll try out a few. Can't really believe that the story and writing is decent. Not going to touch de.

woah text arpegur cooool

woman combatant

unnatural coloured hair

into the garbage bin it goes. Good thing I pirated it.

unreadable pixelshit font

Pyre

The basketball is boring and ruins it. Story seemed cool. I'm mad that these guys are working on a sequel to Hades instead of trying something else, but I guess that's where the money is and they finally found an ultra hit.

Citizen Sleeper

Seemed like it had great potential, but unlike Roadwarden, it's just mind numbingly easy.

Sunless Sea

Good

Roadwarden

Kinowarden

Steve Jackson's Sorcery

Loved it

Suzerain

Loved it and the DLC was somehow even better. Can't wait for the next one.

Cultist Simulator

Actually too hard. It requires too deep an understanding of the gameplay mechanics and it's too tedious to keep repeating, in my opinion.

The life and Suffering of Sir Brante

Good

Disco Elysium

Kino, of course

I wish there were more gammes like Brante
Shame that devs are retarded

There's another font you can use.

I will now download an illegal copy of the game.

Hey. it wasn't ALL failures! I completely cleared that road in the center and explored it fully. I got the seal from that village at the start. I figured out what happened in the ruined village. I became a renowned warrior that had complete combat experience and had a relatively easy time killing whatever stood in my way. I found the hidden village, etc.

But on the hardest difficulty, with no guides, doing these things genuinely felt like achievements, and so, yeah, having the successes and failures together feels satisfying. I wouldn't even say the game feels replayable, but it doesn't need to be. I got MY playthrough.

Actually too hard. It requires too deep an understanding of the gameplay mechanics

This is the best part of the game. It's a game about learning the occult systems that drive the invisible world and in order to succeed you have to actually learn some obscure weird systems yourself, and the setting and gameplay inform each other so in learning about one you learn about the other. Pure ludonarrative harmony kino.

I guess. Just not for me. Too monotonous to keep repeating everything from the start.

Speaking of being a scoundrel, you can sell the bones of the one hunters to the necromancers for a lot of money.

Citizen Sleeper

I think the one reason it's so interesting, despite being so fucking clumsy with its tumblr themes, is how your life changes over time. In a weird way, it's the most authentic adaptation of Fallen London's grind into a conventional single player game.
You start out as a total schmuck, actively falling apart, knowing nobody and nothing, except that you are hunted. But as you comprehend the mechanics and find the optimal routine, your character gets his shit together and makes a life for himself.
The issue there is that the station is explored mostly in the context of cyberpunky corporate hell, or comically tumblr resistance against it trying to frame not!yakuza as """protectors""" of the city is really funny. And your character never reaches the point of actually thriving, narratively speaking. Even as you upkeep your stability by inhaling fungi in a greenhouse, become the most overcompetent being on the station, and keep in touch with a local AI overseer. The fact that all the "endings" are about getting away from your situation is just a mistake.

Hey, thanks, wrote a review on virus4free.ru.

"Aye" does not work at the end of this sentence, developer is a pretentious spastic for adding it incorrectly

t. Tartanfag

I'm mad that these guys are working on a sequel to Hades instead of trying something else, but I guess that's where the money is and they finally found an ultra hit.

God I feel the same way
Bastion and Transistor are far and away my favorite games from them and I'm sad we're never going to get something like them again

rpg has a quest to find someone

quest marker takes you right to them

Why yes, the gods themselves do guide me to my goals because I am the chosen one.

>"well if I knew, I wouldn't ask you!"

Well, why would they ask you if they knew? If they knew where to find the person there would be nothing for you to do, hence no quest.

Citizen Sleeper

Horrendous "le wholsome smolbean" woke Tumblr writing. Hate it when every character is "akshully super nice and a good person with a tragic past!!!" and most quests/arcs are the most melodramatic needless shit to churn out the same "BITTERSWEET FEELS" shit. It's too inorganic and forced, and has a very infantile feel to it. Also cringy lgtbq+ shit.

CoG/HG

Only the Infinity series is worthwhile, and maybe Zombie Exodus. Rest is true liquid shit.

I heard Teenage Exocolonist or whatever was good but I am turned off by its aesthetics and queerpandering.

Is this really how the developer shilling his game thinks Anon Babbleirgins talk?

guys this game was soooo hard, but absolutely worth it, I am keking to the max, its 100 based and redpilled kino soul

I've been here since late 07, election tourist. You're not as slick and as good a judge of Anon Babbleirginhood as you think you are.
I know people that actually discuss vidya and aren't just culture war slop pahjeets seems like a foreign concept to you, but believe it or not, we exist, and in fact, we used to be the majority before 2012.

Do everyone else a favor and stick to your shit threads. Or kill yourself. Either is fine with me.

file.png - 792x164, 9.28K

Respectfully, I would rather read a book I have a backlog full of than play a game that's, apparently, 90% reading. And I'm saying that as a cRPGs fan.

rape

bad

Yeah he should be embarrassed.

Some games force you into picking the option.

Where do you even find 200 coins on top of all that stuff? I could barely manage to keep five.
