What OS are you guys switching to after Micro$hit?

What OS are you guys switching to after Micro$hit?

file.png - 821x859, 90.48K

I'm on windows 10 ltsc and it's fine until 2032. Be smarter

W11 works fine, I already upgraded

already on 11, it's basically the same os

i'm still on windows 7. i'll budge when my favorite nukige dev calls my bluff and really does make 10 its minimum

Windows 7

get with the times grandpa

Same, but what then?

i switched to fedora

This.
The UI is so atrocious, you can tell brown shit stained outsourced hands coded it.

SteamOS

forced to upgrade

your sys might not meet the reqs, run this spyware to find out if you can install win11!

why do these reqs get higher anyways. what the fuck are they adding to the OS other than more bloat and spyware?

It's fine really, nothing outstanding but nothing uncomfortable really

I don't have the module, whatever its name is, to switch to windows.
I have no idea frankly, I'd switch to linux, but I'm too lazy to check software compatibility.

Maybe if steam OS get released by then.

Already on Fedora. It just werks.

no it's shit and actively unpleasant

How are Linux users dealing with DirectX cancer?
I'm worried about shitty windows games with horrendous performance having worse performance in Linux.

Going back to Xubuntu.

I'm on arch, I'm daily driving it for about 3 months and I've had zero problems with any games I have

he fell for "10 is good now" meme

Might as well "update" to 11 if your standards are that low. I jumped ship after 7 went EOL.

nah it's okay

this

w7.jpg - 191x176, 12.43K

Also what about the anti-cheat games?

I can understand the start menu changes.
I can understand the round corners and everything feeling like an Electron app.
I can understand the Settings being even less intuitive and cluttered.
I can understand the forced Edge WebView.
But WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING ADDING TWO FUCKING RIGHT CLICK MENUS?
This is some pure pajeet coding right here.

2027 not 2032

he fell for the linux meme

I'm so fucking sick of having to troubleshoot problems on my own PC whenever there is an update to Windows. The latest update, 24H2, would boot to blue screen then revert every time it tried to update but also force it to update every single time I turned it off. Turns out that the FACEIT anti-cheat that I installed like 5 years ago broke the update. Why the fuck they insist on FORCING an update that fails every time with no way to stop it without going to the registry I'll never understand.

nice bait

I'm already using w11 iot ltsc

I'm going nowhere. Nigger Nadella will have to come to my house and suck my balls to make me even try to use windows 11.
Linux is acceptable but since I play some VR games then it's a no for me.

It's retarded and there's even a setting to remove it that fails to stick because it'll change every update.

nta but he might've meant IoT LTSC. Which has support until 2032.

Should I be concerned about those "security fixes"? No more windows update sounds like a blessing otherwise.

what has been your experience like? I'm using iot ltsc 2021 and been thinking of upgrading but I'm not sure if windows 11 is as polished.

Linux
Lutris and Wine is piss baby easy level to setup

Arch, I only game and shitpost on windows during downtime.
Death to Nvidia.
Death to Jensen Huang.
Death to James Jones.

To be fair, as long as your browser is up to date and so is Windows Defender (or your av of preference) then your security risks are very low.

I won't put it past those worthless jeets to go probing for vulnerable machines the day w10 stops support so I am a little worried.

DirectX cancer

Just don't buy novideo.

I ran w10 for 5 years without a single update and never got anything. Just don't be fucking stupid and you'll be fine.

I already upgraded to 11 like 4 years ago. Linux needs to get it's shit together before I ever consider switching again.

I'll just daily drive Mint or something and keep a w10 partition I guess

The UI is so atrocious, you can tell brown shit stained outsourced hands coded it.

you can just regedit your way into making it it look like w10 anon

give me a step by step on how to do it

What about anti-cheat games?

I daily drive Nobara and life is good.

If you have decent hardware, you'll probably wont run into any problems running any game, Valve did an amazing job with proton, something freetards couldn't achieve in decades of wine development. There's also a new kernel releasing soon with some shit that will make games run even better.
On older hardware there is also a performance difference, which may vary from noticeable and annoying to unnoticeable.
Now here is where the bad news are. You can check on protondb if your favorite multiplayer slop allows it's anticheat to run on Linux. If it does it works just as great as on Windows. If not, chances are are the game you're playing is shit.

I'm on W10 LTSC IoT, so I'm good for a while.
If there is a good W11 LTSC IoT that I can use, I'll go for that. Otherwise I will go to Fedora or something Debian based.
I used to daily drive Debian when I was 16 you know

Now here is where the bad news are. You can check on protondb if your favorite multiplayer slop allows it's anticheat to run on Linux. If it does it works just as great as on Windows. If not, chances are are the game you're playing is shit.

I would think a GPU passthrough VM setup might be the best bet. But it's a pain and worse performance afaik.

literally google "Restore old Right-click Context menu in Windows 11" you goddamn ape

literally "american service"

lol, no

I haven't had any issues with it so far.

I don't play multiplayer slop.

Nobara, UMU or that one other Linux gaming distro that won't come to mind.
If gachas won't work then I'll just use my old PC with a 2500k and 1050ti for them.

milk.jpg - 850x850, 53.27K

I just won't upgrade.

Literally they upped the requirements so they could make AI and newer TPM work with it.

Arch chad since 2021

My motherboard doesnt support 11 I dont know why they keep bothering me. Leave me alone.

we gotta adopt the penguin, with proton things aren't as bad these days, only some zoomer competitive shit like fortnite doesn't work due to anti cheat

I'll get right on that, I'll spend hours fixing shit tier ux that requires 5 clicks more than necessary to do everything.

download inControl application

I'm worried about shitty windows games with horrendous performance having worse performance in Linux.

Funny enough, on average games get better performance on Linux even in Direct X native applications. DXVK is freakishly good. It's why Vulkan native is the future and then it won't matter what platform you play games on.

The bottleneck for Linux gaming will always be companies intentionally locking it out because it's far easier to evade anti-cheat.

Why are Microcucks so weird about their OS? You never see Applefags or Linuxtists whine nonstop about not being able to use an outdated OS.

I already installed Ubuntu on my laptop.
Just gonna install it on my desktop as well when the time comes. I'm at the point where I'd much even use Mac over Windows anyway so it's not a huge loss.

macos has looked, felt, and functioned the same for 15 years. windows fundamentally changes every new os for no good reason. its tiring. the older we get the more annoying it gets to adapt to change, this is basic brain chemistry. change for the sake of change must be discouraged for this reason

because applefags buy the new products without question so i doubt they even know what an OS is and linuxshitters are too busy reporting issues they don't have time to care

I'm thinking Mint or Ubuntu.

green message bubble spotted

we can't just update the same installation like every other software ever because...we just can't ok!!

nooo not my forced updates!

steam still install? not changing to anything

Kernel level spyw- anticheats would probably detect it's a VM and won't work anyway.
The only game I have in my library that doesn't have a working anticheat because the devs won't enable Linux support for it is Rust, but according to protondb you can still play it just fine on non-EAC servers.
So if your game doesn't install rootkits and has custom servers, you can most likely still play it.

don't you have work to do? those iphones won't pay for themselves

This is the only reason I have to use a piece of shit windows...

Joke's on them, I can't even run 11

TWO FUCKING RIGHT CLICK MENUS?

Yea, that shit pisses me off too.
But i thought that problem started in Windows 10.

that's their plan, get you to buy a AI spyware filled PC so that you get into their even more closed OS

I'd much even use Mac over Windows

ew
Mac has the most retarded shortcuts (like forcing you to use CMD+C to copy)
That alone is a hard no.

file.jpg - 1588x1588, 669.27K

I'm not a troglodyte. I can learn.

shift right click menu in 10 was just for powershell/cmd and copy file path stuff

joke's still on them I can't afford shit like that

i'm not fooling anyone
when i am done with win 10 i will be using win 11

a friend i had that used mac called the command button the fag button because of the little squiggly symbol

Indeed, we can all suck dick if we put our minds to it.
But should we?

If you absolutely HAVE TO play your multiplayer slop with spyware anticheats you can just dualboot.
Have a clean Windows install on one partition where you only have your multiplayer games on so the chinks and marketers can't steal any data, and have Linux installed on another partition where all your personal files and the rest of the games will be.

From what I've heard some gachas work with some additional hoops (ZZZ, genshit), some don't. You can check popular ones here
areweanticheatyet.com

I was on Windows 8.1 preinstalled in my laptop until its motherboard exploded three months ago. Now I'm on Windows 10 where I manually deleted around 100 services from the system package (which included all the AI shit, telemetry, and bloatware). I plan to use it until the heat death of the universe.

Windows 10 where I manually deleted around 100 services from the system

Nigga you could have just installed Windows 10 LTCS and spare yourself the headache. It's as barebones as Windows can be out of the box.

Just FYI, MAS activator can be used on 10 to get the extended support updates and stop the nagging.

I switched to linux instead of Windows 10, so i guess i will continue on linux.
It is shit, but it's less shit than win10, a lot less shit than win11, and almost good if compared to OSX

Oh yeah? Does your calculator look like this though? Does it? Didn't think so, bucko. Mine does however.

im leaning towards EndeavourOS. However this doesn't seem like a good time to get a new pc (i need a whole new build), since the next line of AMD & Nvidia cards will both be out around the same time as the ps6 in a couple years. So it seems a bit pointless getting a 9070XT tier PC right now.

Windows 12 which will be announced soon

It does and I haven't changed anything to make it so.
LTCS doesn't have Microsoft Store and their slopware installed.
The only thing that you'll have to remove manually is Microsoft Edge, but there is an easy script for that on GitHub.

KDE has came a long way since 1996

IMG_7052.png - 1024x768, 119.13K

i'm hoping to be dead by then

LTCS doesn't have Microsoft Store

Ok and how do I run the Xbox games I have? Gears of War 4 I got for $3 and it's not on Steam, Gears 5 for free, and other Bethesda and Xbox Game Studios games that I got for free with Prime Gaming

I don't want any microsoft service or software in my windows machine

I want to play microsoft and xbox games on my windows machine

You see how retarded you sound?
Also you can install the store on LTSC. Nigger.

Why would I switch?

linux needs a lossless scaling framegen equivalent

calculator

instead of browser or python console

And what do I do then, lose them? don't you see how retarded you are to think so?
and yes, you can, I imagine even so wouldn't that open the way to the telemetry that you are already blocking by default?

Soul

Moved over to Tumbleweed as of 2 weeks ago and for the most part, shit just werks. HDR is hit-and-miss, FSR4 is missing and there are quirks.
But yeah, I'm happy.

As an unfortunate Gnome user I kinda miss desktop icons
Although I do recognize that they are pointless

cute little toy calculator anon

Windows 8 was LITERALLY a faster, safer Windows 7
Whatever complaint you have about it is absolutely guaranteed to be retarded and inane.

Win 11 LTSC. I don't wanna hear I gotta upgrade for another fucking decade

still not using linux lmao

faster

okay lol

"hmm... can't wait to buy 1F eggs and 1A apples for tonight's pie..."

It is
For me

based anon, you showed him. Gnome calculator is super cool
Personally I never open it and instead do all my calculations in browser console in JS

btw pirated photoshop and video editing software does work under linux( capcut, studio version of davinchi, etc) there are very few programs that almost inpossible to emulate, most of it can be run through wine

Applefag is so use to being in a lock environment he doesn't realize other OS have customization

Lol

Seems like the brown shit stained hands that coded Win11 are more skilful than yours, then.

This, but
then I’ll just switch to something Debian-based, or maybe just Debian itself.

im currently using like a 10 year old version of photoshop, if that's the only program i require can i emulate it on Linux?

I really like how in KDE when you search for windows terms you get the equivalent result. Like "cmd" results in "konsole"

I'm already w11. Only thing I don't like is that new right click menu

that's illegal

i think powershell has a few bash-isms as aliases too.

im going back to windows 98

Is steamos available yet for desktop pc? I might go with that or arch or just get windows 11 or just stay with windows 10. I don't know yet.

What reasons do you have for not moving to 11?

What reason do you have for moving to 11? All games that work on 11 work on 10.

SteamOS is immutable (unless they suddenly change that), you don't want that on a desktop OS.

read this
the latest version of photoshop that can be emulated well is v21.2.4
but i would reccomend 2017 version, it's the easiest one to emulate without troubleshooting

The Windows 11 task manager is better. The UI looks nicer. There is background task sleeping. The centered taskbar is better. Better integration with dev tools.

Well for my main PC i switched to linuix about 1,5 years ago.
For windows needs ill just use w10 LTSC

Ubuntu. While, at this point, its one of the worse Distros (only because its the most corporate Distro around and Canonicals retarded attempts of forcing their shitty ass Snap) its still a neat "it just works" distro with all of the benefits of Linux and a Distro that isnt some obscure 2 person thing that may or may not die a week later or get worse over night because of some drama happening.

I'm currently still using 2017 on windows, does it run well? I cant really use a gimped version that crashes or slows down if its pushed beyond 100 layers

7. Like this post

Linus Racemixing Tips was a disaster to the Linux community

Once online games start supporting it I’ll swap

i don't think any of the multiplayer games i played recently had any OS specific trouble.

launching a separate app for a calc

ngmi

btw you don't need to instal virtual machine if you are planning to swith to linux, just copy everything that is required in that video onto a flashdrive before installing linux
you just need a preinstalled version of photoshop to be ported into linux, copy all of the files mentioned in the video before switching

windowsjank

No, thanks, my PC is fine

What's wrong with Windows 11?

Wouldn't it be better to wait for Windows 12 or just use macOS?

Ok and how do I run the Xbox games I have?

lol

but he's just emulating windows

As a matter of fact I do, yeah

This

I to hoped to be dead in 5-10 years, but here I am, over 30 years later.
Better install gentoo while you wait.

Well? Are you going to set up MSN?

everyone talks about it like its easy but nobody actually tells me they have done it and nobody ever tells me if it runs well. I dont want to know how to do it i want to know if its even worth doing in the first place.

Linux works without a hitch for a year already, never touching microsoft shit again

Honestly who the fuck cares about ""security"" these days? It's impossible to catch viruses in the year of our lord 2025.

it all comes down to your hardware, if you're using amd gpu then you will not encounter any problems and even games will run faster under linux with an amd gpu
nvidia however is a different story, their drivers are pure shit, you can't even run wayland with the open source drivers if you're still usin 10 series gpus
also distro choise and desktop enviroment does matter
in my experience ubuntu based distros have some issues with emulation, especially if it a painting tool, arch and fedora based ones are not as bad
both KDE and Gnome have a wayland support but it's still messy, some drawing tablets have a very piss poor performance on wayland, so you'll have to switch to x11 if you want to draw or play games

What's wrong with Windows 11?

It's just the new 95/ME/Vista/8, unfinished, unpolished, with arbitrarily increased hardware requirements. And it doesn't bring anything worthwhile that W10 doesn't do. At best it's just windows 10 with a shittier UI.

Wouldn't it be better to wait for Windows 12

That's exactly what I'm doing. Let's hope Windows 12 is decent. I don't care about bloat/spyware anymore, I just want a functional and sane OS.

or just use macOS?

Like I said, I want a functional and sane OS.

Linux really massively improved over the last few months, especially for videogames, which was always my mainreason to stay with Windows despite all the shit Microsoft pulled. While some more recent games still are a pain in the ass (MH Wilds took weeks until you could play it somewhat stable) it at least works. Worst case you have to wait a bit. But thats a small price to pay for an OS that doesnt spy on you and doesnt tell you what youre allowed to do and what not.

nvidia however is a different story, their drivers are pure shit, you can't even run wayland with the open source drivers if you're still usin 10 series gpus

At least it got kinda better since their 550 driver. It still sucks but I have hope that in the near future Nvidia works just as good on Linux.

Just not gonna happen.

We in the tech hobby are all using the officially-approved Windows 10 LTSC PoS Server Edition cracked from malware.ru (totally legit). This is the most privacy-respecting OS on the planet once you download these particular Russian hacks, which will also increase your speed. If you're not running this obscure edition of Windows 10, you're simply not a real tech user.

You don't need updates.
Your computer will continue to work.
I ran windows 7 for over a decade with updates disabled the entire time.

What is wrong with you people?

don't care, will update when they fix shit or when I feel like

I installed Openshell and 11 is now the same as every other Windows version I've used

What OS are you guys switching to after Micro$hit?

Macos

windows is spyware garbage.

There's no W12 yet, so why are they killing W10 support so early? Are they expecting everyone (who doesn't use other OS') to use W11 exclusively? Insane.

They also keep trying to force their MS account on people. They even go out of their way to remove ways to create local offline accounts while installing Win11. Pretty sure they slowly try to boil the water until Windows users are online and logged in 100% while using Windows to get all the sweet sweet data. Just sucks that normalfags wont care and just roll with it like the naive cashcows they are.

Are they expecting everyone (who doesn't use other OS') to use W11 exclusively? Insane.

Yes and they can and will get away with it

None because I need to play games. Can't use Linux because I'm not a network engineer.

Theure breaking down resistance to those not upgrading to Win11. My work computer updated overnight and I was offended I couldn't move the Taskbar to the top I had to use a plugin to make it happen. If the boys in IT have to remote into it I'll be tickled to see what they have to think.

I haven't seen any issues with it. Proton is pretty impressive, when I got the Steam Deck I was surprised at how well it would run a lot of games. It's not perfect but Valve has made long strides in the world of gaming on Linux and it's only going to improve.

A puter with the current Windows properly equipped for the games I want + a Thinkpad with Linux for everything else
I would like to do this but it's probably not that convenient.

KDE is the best. That one dude from Mr. Robot was correct.

It's not that bad. You can disable the dumb shit.

I'm not talking about games, I already know they run well because i have a steamdeck. My question is just if it runs photoshop to a level where you can use it somewhat professionally, I just never see anyone actually talk about using it on linux. These simple productivity software packages are the main reason most people cant shift away from windows and its crazy they can run complex gaming software with no issues but some retarded line drawing stamp software seems almost impossible.

Thinkpads are shit these days

Thanks, but I'll be sticking to debloated Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC.

I was in diapers when 8 came out and now I am a big teenage boy posting on Anon Babble with a dick in my ass

8 fucking sucked dick 7 was peak thankfully Valve has made Linux not a meme anymore, but still need windows to make productive shit for normies

What happened? They're still used in corporate I believe.

SteamOS. Gaben will save us.

People meme about them being good they cheap out simple as

Yeah I'm not a useless Yuro NEET. I have a job. I still need Microsoft Teams and Adobe for work. I can't use Linux for everything.

What's taking them so goddamn long? It ain't like they're developing games outside of that team shooter. I had high hopes for the Steam Machines but that was literally a popcorn fart.

This.

One word: Drivers.
Even Valve can't solve the 'infinite drivers' compatibility problem that Linux has. Microsoft got really close with Windows but we still have problems frecuently.
And all of that on top of companies like Nvidia being extremely problematic to work with, that's why their drivers fucking suck on Linux. Even Linus Torvalds curses them publicly. Now imagine all the OEM and hardware manufacturers having to work together and bringing open source drivers to Linux. Valve can't do it by themselves.
Proton is an amazing solution but it will never be on par of native support. Devs need to start porting their shit to Linux now. But they won't unless there's money in it for them.

What is it with Linux autists crying about muh privacy? Like, what do they expect Microsoft to do? Having some pajeet checking live footage of them watching porn? No one cares what you retards do on your PC. Windows works 100% of the time and is fully compatible with everything, unlike Linux which is a huge fucking mess the second you try to use some slightly exotic piece of hardware or software.

Windows works 100% of the time

That's exactly the problem, it doesn't. If it did no one would care of the """privacy""" issues. But alas, Windows is a fucking spyware machine first and an OS second.

Sure, there are some rare cases where stuff doesnt work properly on Windows too, but thats the exception. In return I get an OS that works out of the box, worst case is having to install a few drivers. After that its installing Steam and thats literally it. And regarding the privacy shit, again, who cares. All Microsofrt gets is some anonymized telemetry about insignificant shit like your screen resolution or maybe your hardware. Its not like they get a copy of your porn folder.

That's a real nice head canon and all but you are still a retard who can only parrot what other people told him.
They were LITERALLY, functionally the same.

W11 I guess, there's plenty of ways to quickly debloat it.

I manually deleted

theres tools to do it in less than 5 minutes anon
the fuck are you doing nigger

Its not like they get a copy of your porn folder.

They get more or less that with Recall.

Just use one of the gorillion debloat tools to delete it then.

linux isn't ready yet for the software i use and i hate the interface of 11, and i'm not even sure they still kept the features i use daily. i am not looking forward to this.
i don't want to use ltsc either, mostly because i don't want to reinstall and a lot of software won't support it

Nta, what's the best one?

Linux Mint. Im having trouble running Running Dos based clients in Lutis/Wine tho.

dlm.jpg - 460x616, 46K

The centered taskbar is better

nta but i really don't like this but i've seen it can be changed. however, can you still separate task bar buttons and labels?

They all do the same fucking shit, just search on jewtube "windows debloat tool 2025" and grab whatever has more views.

They're unironically making Half Life 3, or at least a new HL game even if it isn't exactly 3. I love Linux but I can forgive them prioritising HL3 over it.

running some script with root privilege from a random stranger on the internet

What could possibly go wrong.

I unironically trust rando autismos on windows more than I trust troonix niggers.

what seems to be the problem?
And if all else fails, emulate.

let me guess: windows 11 will add some shitty AI taking up space which you cannot turn off? hell no. I'm good.

based and same.
now GNOME vs KDE, that is the question

gonna switch to fedora, just need to buy another ssd to make room for some shit

I moved to 11 when I built a new PC a few months ago and after tinkering with it the only thing that still annoys me is taskbar items resizing based on the title of the program. Just make them all a constant size jesus christ.

Already on 11. Seethe.

I don't expect a logical answer from someone with terminal brain rot but humor me: why?

Already switched to Fedora KDE.

Fedora.jpg - 800x450, 52.03K

Already on W11 IoT LTSC.

I read VNs so unfortunately I'm stuck with Microshit.

it's not hard to pirate windows 11 and bypass the requirements, nor to rice it so it looks like 10. there's no reason to make this your hill to die on unless you're computer illiterate.

I read VNs exclusively on my deck. what are you reading that doesnt run on linux?

you can download an unmodified image and verify its hashes as well as audit massgrave's code yourself. now explain why it makes you mad without lying.

If you "need" Windows the only thing that's capable is 11 (of some variant). The amount of fucking around with it is up to you. Oh, don't be insufferable and yell

but Linux is hard and customizing is strange and you need to spend forever doing special shit to get it to work as you want

if you're basically trying to backport shit from 11 intro custom installer versions of 7 and patching shit with MSDN so it can kinda sorta run DX11 or DX12 without having a seizure. If you'r;e putting that kind of effort into it, you're better off doing it for something like Linux that will actually reward you.

Then again, there's plenty of distros that don't require that degree of fucking around and who actually respect your privacy, freedom etc. Almost any Linux distro made for desktop use will work and a popular one will mean a large community of other autists. If you're willing, a rolling release distro like Arch (or something based on it. Endeavour is probably the best option as it used the same repositories) means the fastest updates for gaming related shit like GPU drivers and other bleeding edge stuff.

What about SteamOS or Bazzite or whatever the fuck

When SteamOS used on the Deck is ready (the Arch based one) for common hardware install it will be fantastic, but its not quite there yet. They're using the Deck as the test bench pretty much, developing shit like Gamescope compositor. Sure, you can use Bazzite or others that basically kinda jam some SteamOS components into a common hardware install but it may be better to just wait if you're not on some very limited hardware platforms like one of the also-ran non-Deck handhelds.

file.png - 1491x1848, 1.08M

but now with new and improved keyloggers and no-opt-out analytics gathering :)

i'm just gonna get windows 12 so i don't have to switch again

where do I get this?

My W10 hasn't updated for like 2 years now and it's fine. Til something breaks this kompyuutur it'll be fine.

you can manually install it with a command. i would recommend though developing taste instead of going out of your way to play shovelware given away for free like wolfenstein youngblood.

Original anon inquiring. Do you have a suitable solution?

how are still on w7 and be able to use the internet at all? aren't all programs incompatible with it, can you still play games in it?

Or Windows has just been shit ever since Windows 8 because Microsoft keeps on making retarded changes that ruin the average user's experience drastically. Literally the last good Windows was Windows 7. Everything since then has been a downgrade in usability.

that start menu honestly looks like shit

I still use 7.
Is there really a need to upgrade?

7 looks like garbage but it's so much better than everything after.

win952.png - 800x600, 20.37K

It all looks shit, always has.

Wrong pic.

Christian! Get off the computer and come eat dinner!

Not soon enough.

I'm already on w11 and have zero issues. still on 23h2 tho because I heard 24h2 fucks with a lot of games.

Firefox decides to extend 7 support all the way till September 2025

Because it doesnt look like mac?

Vista is the best looking operating system imo. Shame it was unstable as shit

I seriously don't get why this get treated like 2012 is the end of the world. Guess what. My Windows 10 PC that I have since 2021 is still going to work same as ever was.

What kind of bot bumo is this?
You generate me a loli

playing game

process monitor shows odd name

type it on search in case it's a default windows thing

it automatically searches for 10 different websites depicting it as a virus and how to remove it

look it up myself

it's a fucking game engine process

the game's process name just wasn't its regular name

So this is the power of India.

Kek good luck playing anything they requires DX12.

Use vulkan

Already moved to Linux, Microsoft can eat my ass

Busybox/linux

Unironically Gentoo. I don’t even know how to use it, it’s just a good Linux distro with no systemd that I can probably use as intended and get Wine to run as intended.

false you need to take the nix pill right now

early? it's 10 years old boomie

I dunno. Probably some flavor of linux, probably SteamOS if it's that easy.

get windblows 11 its actually not too bad

I won't pay more than 40 dollars for Windows 10 Pro.
Just tried to buy one on Ebay...key was sealed but not valid. Recommend me a Linux distro to watch for compatability with steam vr.
Meantime I see a, "Activate windows at my bottom right corner".
Longterm gonna try to support an East Asian, Chinese, Korean, or Japanese Operating System.

My computer came with Windows 11. How much longer does that have?

Same shit I'm using now. The few new games I've played can run on a toaster, anyway.

stop paying for windows anon

paying for windows

is there such thing as "being too zoomer"?

I'm already running Windows 11. I have a hard-on for running the most recent version of anything I frequently use...

zoomers dont type like that

Cute spid.

Weird spaceless ellipsis use is a faceboomer thing. Most common one is 2 dots.

Thank you. My night's work tonight.

I paid like 25 bucks for Windows 8 Pro, which then I could upgrade for free into 8.1 Pro, then to 10 Pro which I COULD upgrade into 11 if I was planning to.
25 bucks for over 10 years of Windows sounds like a good deal to not have to bother with potentially pozzed downloads or whatever.

I stopped updating windows 10 in 2023 and I will keep using it until 90% of games I play dont run on it anymore.

have any of you niggers updated to 24h2 yet? any issues? anything i can see about the issues is at least 2 months old and no fucking clue if they fixed them yet or not

25 bucks for over 10 years of Windows sounds like a good deal to not have to bother with potentially pozzed downloads or whatever.

When it comes with the computer you don't have to do that afaik

Yeah, I bought it for the computer I built myself in 2013
Windows 8 wasn't doing too hot those days so Microsoft themselves sent me an e-mail with the offer and I figured I might as well take it.

Thanks
Anon. Uploaded my success in that thread.

Do people unironically use windows?

Then you'll switch to Win 11 and seethe post about Win 12. You might have tried Linux in between, but soon realized that freetards are full of shit.

Been using 11 IoT LTSC, no problems.

Idk I bought a Mac and never looked back.

Already on Fedora /w KDE. It's pretty based. Zero complaints from me. Even works nicely with my Nvidia card.

I'm afraid to switch to linux because the dogshit games that require eac stopped working on 7 and if I upgrade I know for a fact I'll get addicted again

Feels like 10 to 11 is way less of a downgrade than 7 to 10 was. 11 is just 10 with some obnoxious shit that you have to spend 15 minutes fixing.

Everyone that think demons in frieren are even conscious are getting culled by an evil AI.
Not understanding the whole "it's a magical mimic with legs and horns" is pretty dire

I could understand killing it off if all computers were compatible. But I got my current computer in June of 2021. It wasn't the very top of the line, but it was one step below it. My computer will apparently not support Windows 11. So what do I do? Toss it in the garbage in a few months?

they'd like you to. just bypass the TPM and secureboot checks and most stuff should work except live service games with kernel level anti-cheat.

I skipped that, they have given Doom Eternal, Fallout 76 and Minecraft Legends, the Wolfestein one I have is The Old Blood

No idea how to install a Linux branch onto my pc and even if I did the idea of there being games I'll have even more compatibility issues with than I already do on windows 10/11 pushes me away from it, if I didn't need some wine shit for games then idk

Most linux distros work by you making a live USB with a install application on it.
Basically it's an whole desktop OS that load from the pendrive thing, and you can test drive it etc.. (but with slow loads because it's a pendrive), and you can partition the HD and all that shit from it.
It is a good idea to have a linux pendrive even if you're never planning to use it because you can sometimes unfuck your windows with it.

It's funnier to believe Frieren is racist tho.

I mean, she is racist. but also 100% right.

I'll continue to use it, I have updates disabled and a good firewall anyway

they are sentient, they just fucking hate humans on an instinctual level and have zero capability for empathy
they are basically a metaphor for jews
