The problem with AI is very simple, and it's a problem a lot of devs have struggled with over the years.

It's audience attention. It's actually very hard to drive home a point to your playerbase, this is why so many games now either use very minimal writing to try and make all of it seem important, or highlight important topics in colored text. If you have pages upon pages of text and something important the player has to remember somewhere within, a lot of players are just going to skip right over it as they mash through the boring dialogue.

With AI slop, this is magnified 100 fold. Your art is AI slop? Well, how do I know if you actually wrote half the game, or just had the slop engine pad it out? Most people are going to skip it. And then they'll skip the art too, and the level design, and the enemies, and eventually, they'll skip the whole game, because they understand intrinsically that it isn't worth caring about.

There's a similar thing in movies. Back when effects were practical, I loved trying to work out how they did something, or reading/watching BTS segments because of how interesting and artistic the process was. Now? It's all CG. I don't care about it, I don't even like looking at it, I actively avoid CG heavy movies because they are boring to watch and the computer tweening takes all the visual interest out of a work. Even when they do a cool stunt, like Tom Cruise on a motorcycle ramp, the finished product is so airbrushed and ruined by CG that it looks atrocious. The BTS footage of him on a ramp that was then removed post production by a team of jeets carefully masking it to look like rocks looks 500x better than what is actually in the movie, because it feels real.
